Ok mathmeticians, figure out the answer to this one. Let's say you had one of these 500 Ghash miners, and you could time travel back to January 2009, when the difficulty stayed at 1 almost the entire year. And let's say you put this miner to work, pimping out the hashes like a mutha. Now here's the math part: since BTC is limited to a 4X difficulty increase with each adjustment, would it be more profitable to: 1. let the thing hash non stop and let the difficulty rise over a few adjustments to its equilibrium point,... OR... 2. once the difficulty rises, shut off the big miner for a few weeks and let difficulty drop back to 1, then turn it on and run it up again? I think letting it run non stop, even with higher difficulty after the first few adjustments would be more profitable. Math it out!  Definitely want to leave it on. When you shut the machine off, your time-machine-less peers will still be minig with their CPUs at difficulty 1 rates. You've quadrupled the difficulty, so it's going to take about 2 months for the difficulty to decrease. The other thing you have to worry about is pissing off 2009 Satoshi. You don't want to do that... |

One miner that has come out recently is the RockMiner R-Box. It is a 32+ gh/s miner built using ASICMiner’s Gen 3 40nm BE200 chip in a small Orb type package. This smaller unit is an exciting development as the original Block Eruptor was a large, power sucking space heater. The original Block eruptor worked well, but this is an excellent improvement in both power consumption, performance and relative heat generation.

I recommend switching back to the custom 4.3.3 build of cgminer if you are having issues with cgminer 4.4.0 or bfgminer 4.2.0. Both official builds are having reported issues reliably detecting the RBOX.
Also, if you are using the ATX breakout board, you'll note that the 8 pin PCIE connectors are actually 8 pin CPU connectors. You will be able to connect 6 of 8 pins, and that's all you need. I have ten running on one breakout board with no issues. Do not try plugging a cpu connector into the pcie connectors, as the polarity is reversed and may damage the board.
The breakout boards have BOTH 8pin CPU and 8pin PCIE headers... The 8pin CPU connector (header) is the white colored, VERTICAL connector directly next to the 20+4pin ATX connector (header). The black, horizontal 8pin connectors (headers) are the PCIE connectors and will accept 6pin OR 8pin without issues. DO NOT PLUG MORE THAN 1 PSU INTO THESE BOARDS! Bad things happen. I currently have my breakout boards supplying power using just the 20+4pin ATX and the 8 pin CPU headers. I am powering 7x R-Box units between 2 breakout boards (5 on one, 2 on the other). The breakout boards also serve as a power switch for the PSU supplying power, in my case, the PSU is also supplying power to part of my S1 farm. Perhaps they just messed up on my board and another customer's. I have 1 8 pin CPU header(white) and 2 8pin CPU headers(black) that are labled as pciex. I know they are CPU headers because the extra two ground connectors to the left of the 6 pin do not fit, but a CPU molex does. It doesn't really matter much either way, as I am only using 2x6 pins and they work just fine with my 10 RBOX units. The 12v from ATX, CPU, and 2 6 pin PCIE connectors is more than enough for 10 units. |

No they are both USB 2. I use the Razorfish hub for everything from RedFurys to OneString miners. The Orico work with all the miners as well. It just came today as I wanted to make sure it is not the hub. I am stumped. I even connected right into the pi with one and it has stopped mining since I posted in this thread. So odd. Even though I compiled and put BFGMiner 4.2 on the MinePeon I have no idea how to do it with cgminer. LOL Or I would try the newest cgminer. Are either of those USB 3?
use the latest driver for cgminer 4.3.3: https://github.com/rockminerinc/cgminer-for-R-BOXMake sure your PSU is 12V 5A for each one. I've only been able to get bfgminer to recognize my RXBOX on my windows controller, and that's after adding it a couple times after launch with the m+ option. Cgminer 4.4.0 supports the rbox, but sometimes recognizes the units as an AMU bE100 device. I think the best bet for now is to stay with the customized 4.3.3 build until support for the devices is refined in each of the main branches. |

Move along spammer! How is this car still be sold if this was posted back in January? I would imagine someone would have took the offer if not in btc then with cash. IS there a lack of vehicle maintenance history or something we're missing? I'm not actively marketing the vehicle. No craigslist posts, ebay etc… Absolutely nothing wrong with the car, and I could drive it for another few years if need be, I'm just putting it out here to see if anyone is interested. Plus, it's been over a year since I sold a car on the forums. I figured it's time to get another one moving. |

No, I haven't yet but I need to pick up a few, they are really nice. He's also making an RBOX mounting plate. I would definitely recommend anyone interested in either contact mstrongbow directly for purchase. |

Instructions for doing that with zadig are in the cgminer README ... as they have been for over a year  Great news! I'm testing on my beaglebone now. You had mentioned icarus drivers were not originally designed for devices over 500mh/s. Has this been compensated for or do you plan on moving it in the future? |
