Everyone send a coin request on Poloniex: https://poloniex.com/coinRequest

If you want a top notch exchange.....  Cool

Bleutrade just added us on their own. We need the explorer and some other things finished first, but more exchanges will be coming later.

My miner has shit itself 3 times already today. Something is wrong with this coin. It never happened with ETH or SHF.

Try using the pool if you are having trouble solo mining. I spent about 15 seconds on it deleting "eth3" and replacing it with "exp" in the .bat for Suprnova., mining fine with 4 GPUs. Solo mining will be improved and made easier, and that is a main priority.

Can I mine this with a single antminer s3? Sorry for the noobish question, I'm trying to decide whether or not to buy my first miner (an S3, just to mess around with)

Thanks in advance

No you cannot mine with an Antminer s3, it uses SHA-256 like Bitcoin and others. If you are looking at an Antminer for mining Bitcoin, you might want to consider an s4, s5, or waiting for the newer models.

this coin is doing alright now. blocktime is fixed. lots of miners. now its time to develop some DApps! How long until someone clones Augur?

Once the DAO is set up we will be releasing information on funding for DApps. That is what the community reserve is for in large part, bringing new developers in.

Just a quick update, nothing is being ignored and the essentials are being worked on with priority given to the most needed first.

Any issues with solo mining will be resolved and updated, website coming, coinmarketcap listing, block explorer coming, stats page, DAO smart contracts, new custom GUI wallet, and exchange(s) after that. (I am not sure on the exact timing of the new GUI wallet, but I think people will like it quite a bit once it is ready)

Here is a logo that Ocminer could use for his pool, or if anyone else needs it for something.

difficulty must have rose like 500% after the pool came online. Sad

block time is beginning to fix itself.

Thats a good thing, we will see far less problems that way.

Ok quick question, normally with a large pool I would want to jump in, however two things.
Ethminer has the 500ms getwork delay+aditional delay from pool &
since this coin pays out Uncles and due to network delay I am guessing that I have a chance of getting uncle credit solo mining.

With these factors, is solo (over a long enough timeline) actually better than pool by a larger factor than most bitcoin clones?

Anyone want to run some math with me on this?

Solo is ALWAYS better than Pool because you have no fees, no stales (mostly), no other traffic, you don't have to trust the admin etc..

Especially with coins like ETH/SHF/EXP and that low blocktime, you'd normally always want to solo if you have some decent amoutn of hash (3-4 GPU's). Pooled mining here is really critical on the server hardware. Of course a few things can be optimized, delay is already lower than 500, its at 150 back and forth and latency can also be optimized by using nodes in the country of the miners..

But .. As long as diff is low, block time is low -> go solo !

I totally agree, anyone that can solo mine should as long as they can find blocks in a somewhat reasonable amount of time. (and they have an advantage if the pool ever goes down briefly) Pooled mining is just easier for many of us that are used to it.

I am a big fan of Suprnova myself, so I am glad you set this up, although hopefully some others also set up some trustworthy pools later to give more options and spread the hash.

i haved mined solo 2136 coins , but i dont know is this right Tongue

can i used the coins , when i mined at the testnet phase?

No, testnet coins have no value. Other than for testing.

We havn't even been live for 24 hours and I see m8s want an exchange already.

Yes, that isn't something to worry about and it will be coming later. Smiley

Dammit Franko , James  I am out I wasted 2 hrs and  100 bucks on this. ( I went out and bought a video card). sucks I been looking forward to this and it Sux.  Miner won't start

That video card should still work, although I would never suggest anyone to buy a video card for any launch.

At least you have a card now though, and can just join a pool later when it is easier.

We need a pool up so its fair atleast to a point for those noobs like me

ocminer will hopefully have the pool up in 5-7 hours from now at https://exp.suprnova.cc .

If he wants to bring the pool up sooner that would be nice, but it is his pool and up to him. (Although you can pre register and get ready)

First of all, seems like you don't understand that I am programmer.
Second, this contract proofs nothing.
Third, devs will control most of supply for many months therefore whole premine will be under their control.

Basically TECHNICALLY IT'S NOT POSSIBLE AT THIS MOMENT TO ACHIEVE GUARANTED COMMUNITY RESERVE YOU CLAIM TO CREATE.

It is technically possible to create contracts that release funds over time. I am not sure why you think that would be abused when everything will be public, and we are not anonymous and would be held accountable, but only a small amount will be available at a time and it won't be abused as that makes no sense, and would ruin the value of the developers funds that will be released over time as well. Your fears or FUD is misplaced, but if you have doubts just wait and see how it goes over time, and you can always mine or trade it later once you have enough proof to satisfy you. Obviously some people will never be happy, but why would we ruin a project that is funding us over a year? (or longer if the community votes for it later, or there is POS on our coins... and so on) We wouldn't do that, that makes no sense.

A suggestion to the devs: Make a windows step-by-step guide and put it on the first page.
You can do it now and only change the official release genesis block later (if that is what you intend to do).
You will eliminate a ton of people's time and nerves to go through all the pages. Unless you are after more "bumps"...

Suggested guide format (similar to what you did with linux instructions:

1. Start gexp and create your own account with typing this:
gexp should get you a new address and prompt (C:\) is being shown again after you run it
Code:
gexp.exe account new

2. Download genesis file (link) and make sure you put it in same folder gexp is.
Import the genesis block and exit after that (ctrl+c)
Code:
gexp.exe --genesis exp-genesis.json
DON'T FORGET TO EXIT GEXP!

3.... bla-bla more explanation
Code:
code to run
...
etc

I forwarded that message to them as they are working on that stuff now, thank you.
695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: September 13, 2015, 09:20:23 PM

100k reserve for the team and for initial bounties at launch, then 1 million slowly over one years time for the team with smart contracts. This means only 100k at launch available for the team.

10 million for the community DAO released slowly over time.

Proof please.

Proof will be provided and should be out before the first exchange is announced and it is tradable. They are very busy right now, but I can assure you this will be proven with smart contracts and there is nothing to worry about. We are not anonymous devs and this is a long term project.

Much more interesting then the other scam eth fork coin out some weeks ago with big premine.

And there is also a legit dev here.

Pity this premine is 44x larger than Shifts.

What % did these devs determine they will premine? I'm fine giving devs some premine. There is no ICO so they will not be paid for this project except for in EXP. You have to look at % of premine, not # of coins premined.

100k reserve for the team and for initial bounties at launch, then 1 million slowly over one years time for the team with smart contracts. This means only 100k at launch available for the team.

10 million for the community DAO released slowly over time. This is not for the team, but for whatever the community votes on using the DAO, future development, bounties for DAPPs and so on.

This will only have value if we develop and bring value to it, so this actually means this there is likely some stability here over the long run, and potentially increasing value with more development over time. We can't release everything at once, but there is more to come and we feel this project will have value over time and last.

Do I need to run step 2 at final launch? Nodes will be the same?  Undecided

"nodes should be the same"

What about step 2 genesis? Do I need to run it at launch? There will be other genesis block right?

There will be a new genesis to run, and we will provide clear instructions in advance of the launch to make it as simple as possible.

What about nodes?

Still can't connect.

Dan Conway is going to make step by step instructions available before launch to try and clarify any confusion. (I think he has to focus on that stuff for a bit now) Worst case if you just can't get it going for some reason, Suprnova will have a pool.

So it`s still testnet?

Yes, tonight at 8pm EDT will the Main Launch.

Are you still want make 1.1M premine available from start? Or have changes in this option?
Bump... my question

Check the main post it has been updated:

"...with only 100k of that total available at launch to help with development and pay for initial bounties, with the rest of the foundation reserve to be slowly distributed to the team over a year using smart contracts"
