681  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Stack wallet for mobile? on: March 26, 2023, 01:35:27 PM
Initially the balance showed about $50 in BTC in the Stack Wallet App, but when trying to send to an Electrum address from Stack Wallet the balance was zero.
When I was testing it a couple of months back, it had synchronization issues... Are you sure it was completely synchronized at the time or did you try to connect to a different node?

I deleted the address because I had the 24 words saved.
When I entered the 24 seed phrase, the balance was zero and the sending address changed from bc1q7d3yfaj36uwylgu33gr2uujr8m9l65pec3rqrg to something else.
You might want to double-check the order of seed phrases and while you're at it, try to generate a lot of new addresses [it might help with finding the missing address].
- With regards to the underlined word, I believe you meant to type receiving instead.

BTW, it appears that they've added the coin control feature, but we have to enable it from the advanced tab.

Update:
Thank you very much SFR10 for your command to try to do some generate address
You're very welcome, I'm glad it worked Smiley
682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I got money today on: March 25, 2023, 05:20:57 PM
I go extra miles to verify the authenticity of those vendors without telling the woman to avoid trouble or scam threat.
I hope this wasn't a simple attempt to get merit, so I'm going to ignore it and ask how did you exactly achieve the above thing [an in-depth explanation would be nice]?

I hope you advised her on the " not your keys, not your coin" slogan
Considering that OP referred to addresses as accounts, it makes me believe there's a high chance both of them are using exchanges or web wallets to store their funds [unfortunately]:

Because investment in Bitcoin requires huge capital and you have less capital.
That's not true [you can easily purchase fractions of Bitcoin]!

It would have been nice if you had bought a small altcoin that was worth less than a dollar instead of investing in bitcoin.
I have to disagree with you... There's no point in investing in something that would cease to exist in a few months/years!
683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legal side to promoting bitcoin. on: March 25, 2023, 12:19:04 PM
There is a scary SEC rule- that
Quote
it is unlawful for any person to publish or give publicity to crypto assets without disclosing the amount they were paid for the promotion.
It's a bit strange that labeling such things as sponsored isn't going to be enough, but they think attaching certain numbers to these things is supposed to magically provide indirect protection to all of the investors [they just want a piece of the pie (SMH)]!
684  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: March 24, 2023, 05:55:00 PM
May point ka, pero kahit sabihin natin na baguhan lang sila noong naviolate nila ang terms of services, responsibility parin nila yung bilang users ng Coins to read all of the terms before agreeing with them.

How do I convert my cryptocurrency to cash and vice-versa?

685  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SIM Registration: Anong Dapat Ipag-alala? on: March 24, 2023, 02:12:24 PM

According to Smart, mawawala din ang natitira nating balance [refer to #4]: What exactly happens if you fail to register your SIM?
- Having said that, may limang araw pa daw tayo after the deadline para ma-reactivate natin yung mga SIMs!
686  Other / Meta / Re: Application For Merit Source [Philippines Local Board] on: March 23, 2023, 07:27:54 PM
I have been better at determining worthy merit posts hopefully, this would be enough to become one.
As much as I'd like for you to become a merit source, unfortunately, our words mean little to nothing [in other words, you have to show it with your actions (replace all those outdated posts with the ones in the past couple of months and keep doing it until you become a merit source)].
687  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: List of VPN Service Providers - 2023 on: March 23, 2023, 05:43:01 PM
min price starts from 2$ a month.
~Snipped~
build your own plan.
It appears that the minimum price is $3 now [at least three pro locations]: Screenshot
- BTW, their yearly plan is $69 at the moment.

How can you say that on a company that got hacked and didn't admit it till someone published their private key on twitter. Company that acts like that, doesn't care about your privacy but about its financial success.
Surprisingly, I didn't know about that incident even though I was one of their users at the time [SMH]... Personally, I have mixed feelings about the route they took after knowing that one of the servers that they were renting has been breached [attacker got an expired TLS key], but when I look at the whole picture [e.g. no log], perhaps it's not as bad as it sounds: Why the NordVPN network is safe after a third-party provider breach

@LoyceV
I've been using Mullvad for the past few months, but I still can't find a way to add more credit using the dust or rather small amounts that I have in some of my addresses [I'm a bit confused if I should still use the one-time generated payment address for it or I should do something else]!
- Based on the current situation of the network, it might look like a bad idea, but I'm just going to use free accelerators with them.
688  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: List of VPN Service Providers - 2023 on: March 21, 2023, 05:39:37 PM
no identifying log Windscribe VPN.
AFAICS, they've "only" been partially audited, and I'm not sure by which firm: Has Windscribe been audited?

Plus, why to pay if you can get VPN for free.
There's a saying that "if something is free, you’re the product"!

www.privadovpn.com, Switzerland, no log, 10GB per month data, 12 countries, https://www.vpnbook.com/, Switzerland, connection logs are automatically deleted every week, no limit for data, 3 countries.
AFAIK, none of these two have been audited by a reputable auditing firm... In other words, you should take everything they say with a grain of salt!

689  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [NEWS] GCrypto is now available to selected users on: March 21, 2023, 03:55:32 PM

690  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcoin Bookstore on: March 21, 2023, 02:45:19 PM
Hi all who replied earlier about the speed of the website:

Could you please visit the website again and tell me how it is now? I thin I made some big improvements and the speed should be much better now. Please let me know. Thanks!
Just finished checking it and honestly, I didn't feel any difference or rather improvements on the overall speed of the website in question [tested in Chrome, Firefox and Opera].
- While I was making small tests for the above thing, I noticed the audiobook bug still exists (perhaps some of your recent changes brought it back)!
691  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: local help to learn about running my own node? on: March 20, 2023, 06:07:39 PM
I've downloaded and been running a full node for a couple months.  Since this involved just downloading and running an exe I'm not quite sure where to go from here.
~Snipped~
2 - Is there a place where I might find an experienced person to provide some guidance and education regarding running a node?
"Bitcoin Technical Support" board is probably the best place, but since you've been running your node for the past couple of months, then it's worth noting that if you're using it to improve your privacy [as opposed to supporting the network], you don't need to run it 24/7.

Note: this machine is dedicated to just being a node, so I don't do much else with it other than browse bitcoin topics.
~Snipped~
3 - I've read there are benfits to using my own node with my wallet.  I'm not sure how to set that up, or which wallet I should use.  I currently use wasabi, but all sats are on a coldcard.
You didn't mention which node implementation is being used, but since it appears that you're using Wasabi on a different machine, then you should know that they've "integrated Bitcoin Knots" into their software [you still have to enable it from the settings (since version 1.1.11)].
- If you're running both of them on the same machine, it'll automatically be detected.

Boxes (not a perfect solution, pero it's better than nothing)].

Pero maraming salamat @SFR10
Walang anuman kabayan Smiley
693  Other / Archival / Re: Question for forum moderators on: March 20, 2023, 09:55:00 AM
@Ratimov
Another case might be @frodocooper for being very strict in moderating the mining boards and even though that led to almost no spam on those boards, it definitely resulted in some controversial decisions...
- Based on the "second line of this post", he didn't leave the position in question.

e.g.
694  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [MARKET CHECK] May interest ba kayo sa "magic cup" na bitcoin design? on: March 19, 2023, 01:46:44 PM
I mean kaysa sa bitcoin t-shirt na pwedeng maging cause ng "$5 wrench attack"[1], why not a magic mug na usually kayo lang nakakakita while enjoying your cup of favorite coffee or tea.
Personally, mahilig ako sa mga ganitong bagay pero this still doesn't change the fact that kailangan pa rin natin mag tiwala sa platform [plus the shipping company na ginagamit nila] o tao na inoorderan natin kaya mas pipiliin ko nalang to be in the safe zone.

It's worth noting na malaki ang possibility na magkaroon agad ng maraming fake/scam mixers to take advantage of the situation.

Thank you for providing those screenshots, but unfortunately, I couldn't find the following part in any of those screenshots...

Since this is a contractual violation, you should also "create another flag [type 2 or 3 (scammer flags are "visible to all users")]" in addition to the one logfiles created the other day:

  • ~Snipped~
with enough support [+3], it'll become active and he'll get a "red banner" on top of his threads + this "warning" on his profile.

    Note:
    • Type 2 flag [second option] lasts for 3 years while the type 3 flag [third option], lasts for 10 years [regardless of its length, only choose the one that's appropriate for your case].
697  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor CoinJoin Testing on: March 18, 2023, 09:18:26 AM
but good news is that Model One could support Coinjoin after this update.
Considering that we're talking about one of the oldest HWs out there and their "previous statement", I'm surprised they're trying to make it also work on the T1 [other so-called popular brands (cough...Led, cough...ger) should take note].

It seems that they forgot to mention how the "QR Code for Bech32 addresses" now appears on the tiny screen of Model one... Because of incompatibility issues with some apps and wallets, they had to change the upper-case Bech32 addresses into lowercase and this resulted in having more complex QR codes [a bit harder to scan] on that tiny screen [not sure why there are such issues for something that it's case-insensitive].

  • I've already labeled this address to not use it in the future, so I'm not worried about privacy matters.

I have limited knowledge with regard to altcoins as a whole, but "based on this page", it seems that you sent these two transactions through Binance, so you might want to "report him/her on Binance" as well [it may not help in getting the $40 back, but it might prevent someone else from making the same mistake].

How could you trust a person with not even a single reputation in this forum with $40?
If I were to guess, I'd say it probably had something to do with the fact that OP also sells digital goods stuff, and thought maybe all of the existing sellers are honest.
@Maxcarter: Unfortunately, scams aren't moderated here!
