NZ was the better team actually since the start and then they lost way while India had already lost against NZ in the warm up matches. So we can't say who was the better team. BTW Royse777 Do you bet on IPL too?
As far as I recall, I think the time I placed the bet for India when they were in better position in the match. The odd was not much too for them. I will look for the betting history and will try to find the exact amount and the odd. It was after then, New Zealand started to play good and won the match.

Quote
I had a friend who use to bet lacs (in USD is is approx $1500++) on IPL matches and mainly on Mumbai Indians and that too not in BTC but in real cash from the bank which was his salary (working as an Engineer). Despite losing many times, he never stopped betting as it became a habit and more than that a matter of pride. In India the gambling market is pretty huge and mainly for IPL inspite of it being illegal.
Yes, I was also gambling on IPL but the lose were not much. Honestly speaking I am still not in big loss or in big profit in Gambling but I have control in me. When I see I am losing much I give it a break, a long one of course. And then again when I feel that okay it was enough then I try again. For example: Since the WC I can not remember I placed any bet yet.

Turning gambling into a habit is not good at all.

Edit:
Okay seems like in the India vs New Zealand match I lost 0.018BTC this is when I decided to stop gambling. Have a look at the betting history. The list is more long by the way. Notice there are no win.

But this one is the perfect example of when you think a team is going to have a sure win but end up losing. Notice the odd for England was only 1.06 which means England were almost winning and from there, they lost the match.

~snip~
Don't have a sMerit to put in.
Let me share another of my last big bet (I don't gamble much).
I had started betting on football with a balance of 0.02 BTC, eventually I made it almost 0.04 within 5/6 days. But later, in a single match I bet all the amount for a lowest odd while my pick was leading the match with 2-0 after second half.
Guess what happened. I lost everything. My pick lost 3-2 goals after the full time.
It would never be a good idea to bet all the money even if win is guaranteed (speculation).
That's called gambling. It's very similar to the lose I had with England vs Sri Lanka.
6862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 09, 2019, 01:41:15 PM
~snip~

So it means we can easily bet big money or ALL-IN  Wink  for the Indian washout and earn big money ?
I would like to share my recent personal experience with the hope that you will learn something from it.

In the WC match between Sri Lanka vs England, I lost more than 0.048BTC. We all knew that England will win but the reality was opposite.
In the Semi final match between New Zealand vs India, I lost more than 0.05BTC. Again we all knew that India was a way better team than New Zealand.

In today's dollar rate the total turns out $1,159. Not sure how much it was at that time, I think it was over $700 or something.

I was upset but those were the amount I was able to afford to lose. It did not effect me financially for my daily expense or paying bills or any savings form my future. It did not make me broke.

So in gambling please do not go ALL-in. Only play with the money that you can afford to lose.

I hope it helps whoever is reading it, including you.

Cheers :-)
6863  Other / Meta / Re: Bumping thread with new announcement every hour? is this allowed? on: August 09, 2019, 01:26:07 PM
We just want to inform this thread that actions have already been taken by the moderator for the “bump” report we have received yesterday. Thank you for calling us out and we appreciate all your inputs. It is not our intention to ignore the forum rules and we would like to apologize for making multiple posts yesterday due to an activity held for our users.
I personally did not expect you to know all the rules however whenever you get time, my suggestion will be to spend some times in this board. You will see lot's of issues are posting by users and from them you will learn about the culture. Also read the unofficial forum rules however I do understand that it's not always easy to keep all of them in mind unless you become regular in the forum and see things are happening everyday.

Now for the time being, if you need to post anything new that has not been posted in the post that you have made in less than 24 hours, my suggestion will be to edit the post and add whatever you want to add but after 24 hours you are free to make another post if you want. Keep doing this and you will be fine. Also you are free to make another post any time once someone make a post after your last post. It's just not good when you are making two post in a row.

Welcome to the community. Feel free to PM me or make any post here or anywhere to seek help from the veteran forum users.

Cheers :-)
6864  Other / Meta / Re: Bumping thread with new announcement every hour? is this allowed? on: August 08, 2019, 08:06:40 PM
Some forums have the feature to group all updates made within 24 hours from the same user in the OP so all new messages posted within 24 hours are grouped in the same OP like this:

---------
Edit/modified at 00:00:00
---------
Unfortunately SMF does not have such feature by default.

I don't know if it has been implemented or not.
I am pretty sure that it hasn't been implemented yet. May be theymos gave up :-P

^Gayle was probably warming up with a SR of 12 and by the time he was ready, he got out lol He must be saving his energy for the 300th ODI
LOL
Poor him. Well, once he is set in the pitch we all know what he can do. Gayle is one of the celebrity power hitter.

Only 2 more ODIs left so India has to win both for winning the series :=(
Let's hope that we do not see any rain and wash out match. India deserves to win this series.
6866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: August 08, 2019, 07:35:03 PM
It's still raining and now the match has been called off. Sad that one complete match got washed away else India would have managed to win this one easily with Gayle getting out early. Still glad that they did not play less overs.
I was expecting this. Yap it's a loss for India. And easy win slipped away from their hand.

LOL what was wrong with Gayle? i Just noticed that he scored only 4 runs from 31 balls. This is not the real Gayle :-P By the way, this was his 299th ODI. quite a record for the legend.

Forum rules should be more accessible. Welcome message would do wonders. Then, at least, users can't feign ignorance. Smiley
Absolutely!
If I am not wrong then theymos once was working on a post or something for the Newbies. Seems like that project is dead already. :-P

I'm surprised that a representative of one of the most popular exchange is doing this
, he does not know the rules, Kucoin better fire this guy for abused and they should get a better and knowledgeable representative, who knows how to read forum guidelines before posting.
You don't expect them to know the forum rules. For them this may be just another forum. For example: Today I signed up in a new forum. I had no clue what to do then I asked the person where and how to find the appropriate section for posting the ad I was suppose to post. Without the help of that person I would be lost.

After looking at the profile of KuCoin Exchange I feel that he/she is as ignorant as I was in the other forum. May be someone can help them to understand the forum rules and also how the mod enforce it. Also tell them it can also harm their reputation.
6869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: August 08, 2019, 05:53:19 PM
I was out and could not watch any single ball. Now seeing it's raining and it's heaver now. I do not think they have reserve day. So I highly doubt there will be even a 20 over match. Okay for WI but I do not think India will be happy about it.

6875  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware wallets OLED Display Vulnerability[Trezor One, Ledger Nano S/X, etc.] on: August 08, 2019, 12:21:21 PM
If you are already using firmware version 1.5.5 there is no newer update for now. Just use the cable that came with your Ledger device.
Not sure about it yet. I will check the firmware later today. By the way, I always used the cable that came with the original device. I am sure I am safe here.

Honestly speaking, this kind of scam is very hard to be a success. Only possible if someone is very close to you who knows you and have access of your cables.
6876  Other / Meta / Re: At what point does feedback spam warrant a ban / nuking? on: August 08, 2019, 11:06:40 AM
I don't think anyone has ever been banned for spamming feedback on trust walls. I do recall theymos deleting some feedback by some dumbass who spammed thousands of lines on multiple user's trust walls, but other than that I don't recall anything happening in regards to control or act against spam/retaliatory/troll-based/garbage feedback. And the reason for little to no action is because the trust feedbacks are supposed to left unmoderated to avoid collusion related crap.
May be theymos needs to do this exception for GP too. Lately he (GP) turned to be a celebrity of the forum. :-P

I did give him a negative and I excluded him from my trust list.

His trust rating,

I do not think anymore neg is going to do anything for him. He seems do not care about all at all.

Quote
I think Theymos ought to consider banning him and perhaps removing his spam feedbacks.
I know theymos banned someone named John K or something long ago (can not remember it much). He can do the same for GP too or at least restrict him to leave feedback for others and remove the existing feedback he left for others.

Something seriously needs to be done against him.

@DaveF, sorry bud. I totally forgot about it earlier. Good work.

1.) Create a Sportsbet.io Account

I am pretty sure this is to promote the referral link of Sportsbet.io (after visiting the URL above). This means if anyone create an sportsbet.io account without using the given link on that page or if anyone already have an account then they can not entire in this round?
6879  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware wallets OLED Display Vulnerability[Trezor One, Ledger Nano S/X, etc.] on: August 08, 2019, 09:55:36 AM
Thanks for the heads up. I will be updating my one (Ledger Nano S) today.

Scammers are creative I have to say. They are doing possibly everything to seal the funds people have. Shame.
