Yeh did LOL but again failed to understand Partial IP :-P

My technical knowledge is limited to understand this:
Quote
Between 6 and 24 months, the IP linearly loses least-significant bits over time. For example, the IP 123.234.210.221 would lose 8 bits and become the prefix 123.234.210.0/24 approximately 10.5 months after it was logged. For IPv6, the least-significant 66 bits are dropped after 6 months, and then the remaining bits are dropped linearly over the 1.5-year period.
Can anyone speak English for the above quote? :-D

Cheers :-)
The bolded is a partial IP of the underlined.
Trying to grasp it however I think I got the basic idea. May be I need to get help from google for more clarity. Cheers Lauda :-)
7843  Other / Meta / Re: Retention/privacy info on: April 25, 2019, 07:13:42 PM
Full IP 6 months (normal retention), meaning that certain amount of time you mentioned is 6 months?
Yes.

Since I have already checked the Limit IP retention then I fall under 3 months limited retention?
Only starting today.

Clear :-)

People on this forum will shill bitcoin over bitcoin cash, but bch does indeed have much much lower fees than bitcoin.  As much as I love btc the developers refuse to change anything and we have idiots like G. Maxwell that think higher fees are a good thing.

at the end of the day people are just going to shill whatever they are holding and everything they don't have is a scam to them.
Good to know that you post at-least means that Bitcoin is not BitcoinCash. BitcoinCash is an altcoin PERIOD
7845  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Reminder]: Specially for newbies BCH is not BTC on: April 25, 2019, 07:06:40 PM
Here is a response I had to write in the Bitcoin Discussion section for a newbie who was confused because of their (bitcoin.com) misleading marketing.

H I'm pretty new to crypto and I've been exploring and learning.  I was on the bitcoin.com website and bitcoin.com youtube channel and it shows the two different bitcoins.  It was saying it has lower fees and stuff so its improved bitcoin version.  Why is the other bitcoin more expensive then.
That bitcoin.com will mislead you to buy BitcoinCash. Because this is what they are shilling on that website.

BitcoinCash is not Bitcoin. It's like any other altcoin. Example: ETH, LTC and rest of the 3 thousand plus shitcoins.

Bitcoin is the real Bitcoin. So do not fall far that shitcoin (BitcoinCash aka another altcoin)

Go to CoinmarketCap and this is Bitcoin: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/

The number one is the list here: https://coinmarketcap.com/

And that shitcoin (BitcoinCash) currently in number 4 position. Do not fall for it.

Quote
Why is the other bitcoin more expensive then.
Because it's the original Bitcoin. And the market demand decides the value. If there are no demand for Bitcoin then there will be no demands for most of the altcoins.

No. The IPs you used in the last 3 months will always be logged, in addition to that you have to wait a certain amount of time before your past logs are gone. Just read this: https://bitcointalk.org/privacy.php.

I read. Just to clarify:

Good insight bud. I left couple merit for you. Sometimes I wonder if it looks bad that most of the merit I sent was to you LOL
Honestly speaking  I enjoy your cricketing analysis.

Few questions: Have you tried to test your cricketing picks in the IPL?
If yes than is there any percentage you can think of. (Accuracy)

World cup will be an interesting event to gamble LOL and you know (I guess) about my gambling interest in cricket LOL
I lost a lot in IPL DAMN!

RR requires another 9 runs in 7 balls and 3 wickets in hand . Only wickets can help the KRK to win the match else it’s over for them and RR is creating a outside chance for themself to be back in this IPL and might even end up in top 4 .
And they had a comfortable win.
At one stage I thought it's gone out from RR's hand but that partnership and the boundaries saved the match for RR. I am really worried about KKR. Do you guys think they can move to the next round?

The Russell show is always exciting too see.

~snip~
Congrats Royse. Looks like myself and Ronnie went with the wrong team. KKR continues to disappoint with their bowling performances.

Basically, KKR, RCB and RR need to win every game from here on to qualify. Who would have thought KKR would have ended up like this?
Thanks bud.
True, I thought at the beginning that KKR will have an easy ticket for the next round. But seems like the reality has something else in mind.
7849  Other / Meta / Re: Retention/privacy info on: April 25, 2019, 06:37:54 PM
I just enabled it and updated which means no (IP) log left for me?

Just trying to understand the change.

Are there really people who believe whatever John McAfee says? I thought he has a mental disorder and if people listen to a mentally disorder person then there will be mess.

By the way, Satoshi can be anyone that's not important. Bitcoin is important.
7851  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to prove to someone that an Bitcoin address (or UTXO) belongs to you? on: April 25, 2019, 06:05:11 PM
AFAIK ZKP isn't possible, either use method mentioned by CodyAlfaridzi or aliashraf

Note: Signing a message with your private key is not safe because you need to disclose the corresponding pubkey (which your address is its RIPEMD-160 hash).

Good point, but it's not like Quantum Computer which can guess ECDSA's private key from it's public exist (yet).
After reading the response about signing an address, is it really risky exposing pubkey? I mean even with the Quantum Computing? Just wanted to 100% sure coz I see people sign their address to prove ownership of the address and I have done that to in several occasions.

And I bet most of us did the same.

Whoever using Ledger Nano, they should be aware about this attack.
Whatever you do, you do not need to enter your 24 words phrase in any other device (laptop, computer) except on the Neno device.

Hardware devices are comparatively less riskier than desktop wallets. Just always ensure that your word phrases are applicable in the wallet device itself.

Without these two, SRH will be burst, I don't think SRH will have a good performance.
I too worried about SRH. Without these two (Warner and Bairstaw) SRH seems nothing. I may consider some of my next pick against them.

~snip~
I agree. Its going to be a different ball game altogether. However, CSK already qualified and they still have a plethora of capable players which is why they still have strong chances to lift the cup. SRH, RR and RCB seem doomed unless the other players step up, especially RR.
~snip~
Sure CSK will struggle but I think they will find their way out. After all Dhoni is there.

~snip~
170-189 is pretty good value at (2.38)

~snip~

And that was a winning pick. WOW!

About today's match result, I picked RR but things are looking hard for them at the moment. Let's see.

Coming up to the topic, he have good and informative points although I believe it has been discussed many times before but still good effort from newbie aside the decision to use big bold font.
Good to know.

Here is an offer from me to the OP based on Bitinity judgement.
If you reformat the topic then I will award you 2 merits.

Send me a PM when you done it.

Cheers :-)

Edit
OP, I said to PM me once you reformat the original post or please don't PM.
Cheers :-)

Let me help you in here (it's in the quote so that I do not get the victim of plagiarism)
All of us note that the market of the Crypto has become a breeding ground for fraud and is very disturbing. But what are the reasons for this? For several reasons, I will explain some of them.

First: the entry of large numbers of people to the market without any knowledge or experience in it. Where people are entering the market of the Crypto and they think they will put $ 10 and will get in a month on $ 1000 of them, meaning colloquial thinkers Almsari exist tree Halshi happened a lot at a time of great height for the young as the sites spread monument and investment false for the developers.

Second: dealing with unreliable people.  Many people lost their money as a result of dealing with selling or buying with unreliable people without using a broker.

Third: Investing in unsecured currency projects. Many currency projects have begun to spread, unfortunately, in a large number of people, with covetousness and buying from the ICO stage. Because they are convinced of the currency team's words without being sure of their credibility.
I have added full stops and deleted some unnecessary new lines however I really did not understand this.

You may want to edit some especially the part I did not understand.

I hope this helps.

I hope it's not plagiarized.

Anyway, the words are hurting my eyes and I am sure it's gonna do the same for others. You do not need to bold and use larger fonts for these. Just keep the regular fonts, you don't even need the bold tag too.

I understand you are trying to get more attention on the post but in reality this is annoying and people will not read your post.

I hope this helps.

The curious case for me is that which tool you used to create those gif images like video?

Thanks in advance.

7860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much wold take a bitcoin transaction with 1sat/byte to get confirmed? on: April 24, 2019, 08:15:37 PM
I wanna make a little transacction of bitcoin and I wanna use a low fee (1sat/byte) as I don't wanna pay almost nothing on fees and I don't have a great hurry to have the transactoion completed and I can wait even some days. But before I wanna ask if someone could give me an approximation of more or less between what times will get confirmed almost for sure (not 100% but almost sure).

Thanks in advance.
It will never be the same as you can guess from the response before me from all these users. But in my experience which eventually inspired me to create this topic (Stop paying crazy tx fees(!) I paid only 1.9sat/B when pool asked me for 100+), the longest time I needed to confirm a 1 sat/B tx was over 5,214 minutes.
