How strange! When I closed Electrum (after starting it the first and only time after installing it and pointing it to my old wallet file - I also left it running for about an hour, and the unconfirmed/local amount was still showing), and then reopened it again, all is well, no local transactions are showing, and my balance is correct. Thanks very much everyone for your help.  BTW, I notice my wallet file is unencrypted - should I encrypt it? Finally!!! :-) Good to hear that you got your wallet back. Now I will suggest to save the seed in a separate place (may be write it down in a paper and keep it safe) so that next time you do not have to go through importing files instead you can recover your wallet using the seed. I think very few people expected this result that inform England will lose against Pakistan. If you look at our pool pick then you will see all of us were wrong LOL. Another example of unpredictable Pakistan. :-P I am expecting Afghanistan to comfortably win against Sri Lanka after watching them play against Aus recently. If Sri Lanka wins, all the losing teams would basically be back in the competition currently. Well we are seeing totally a different Sri Lanka. I do not think they are going to lose this match. Afghanistan are struggling too much. They are so nervous that the bowlers are bowling extra balls, fielders are fielding sloppy, the body language are not looking good at all. May be Sri Lanka will have a trashing win. |

I thought the same until my last post LOL I should place the file wherever I want... I think you can if you want to then you will need to locate the file when you open it. Shouldn't Electrum decide where it should go? By default it does here: Drive:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets What if I let the new installation create a new default wallet, and then somehow import the old one in? Or is that more complicated and/or unnecessary? You can create as many wallets as you want. You don't even need to keep the files if you keep the back up off the seeds of the individual wallets. Always make sure that your seeds are in the safe place. |

As far as i know Electrum does not create .dat files for the wallet, just wallet files without extention.

Manually copy the wallet file from the Windows 7 disc (and put it where)? Yes you can do this. I have the password, seed, etc. Since you have seeds then recovering the wallet should be easier for you. You can use this method too. On a side note, have you verified the downloaded Electrum exe file? If you have not done it yet then please do it for the sake of the security. Here is a tutorial which may help: https://bitcoinelectrum.com/how-to-verify-your-electrum-download/Once you verify the signature then install the application again. Remove the old installation. Another side note: Do not keep the wallet DAT file in your Windows 7 drive if you are not planning to use that anymore. Once you copy and paste the file to Electrum folder in your SSD then delete the drive file if this is not in use however do not forget to keep a backup of the DAT file in a safe device also the seed in a safe place. |

Another unpredictable performance from Pakistan and this time it's in their favor. Very few people (Non of us in the pool though) I think predicted that Pakistan will win, I doubt even if the Pakistan team mate were predicting to win this match LOL
The batting was excellent. England had some sloppy fielding and I think those made the difference in this match. Anyway, congratulations to Pakistan. I see the WC is becoming exciting. Yesterday it was Bangladesh, today it's Pakistan, will it be Afghanistan tomorrow? Are we going to see continuous down of match favorites?

Pakistan is heading toward a big total now. Still, almost 15 overs left and if they can speed up their run rate, then 320-350 looks very much achievable in this pitch. Unless another collapse in the corner is waiting for them. Hope that's not the case this time. Finally 300+ chase for Cricket lovers Pakistan may have a luck today LOL Chasing 348 will not be easier however it's possible for the team like England. My pick was comfortable win for England but seems like even if they win then this might be a close match. Not in gambling mood coz I lost some good amount of money earlier :-( |

I disagree. Bangladesh consistently cause such upsets in every World cup basically. Did you observe how India thrashed them in the warm up match? They still have a long way to go, but have improved by miles over time.

I think you were missing last few days :-P Anyway, yes I did see the helpless Bangladesh against India but in past they had very close matches with India and I think they won some as well. So I would not judge based on one match (the match against India). Bangladesh really has good potential. |

The way Bangla tigers played yesterday, if they kept playing like this then I am not surprised if they beat top teams as well and make into Semis easily. But its too early to say, tournament just started and it's a long way to go from here. Even losing team can come back from here.

Bangladesh is known to upset the game by beating some of the best teams and exactly they did the same thing ystd by beating the SA. Bangladesh kept on picking up the wickets at regular intervals and this made the chase difficult for SA and to win the match.
Looking at the last match and the performance in the Tri-Nation Series at Dubline, also some of the performance before they came to UK, I do not think they are anymore a team who cause upset. They are a very consistence team. Most of their players has huge experience compared to other team members in this world cup. So, I am waiting to see more wins for Bangladesh. May be Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, WI are the team who will be targeted by Bangladesh. My GOD! If they win these matches then they will easily go to the next round :-P |

What an epic battle between Tsitsipas and Wawrinka with Wawrinka winning the match in 5 sets. I am sad to see Tsitsipas lose, not because I had money on him but I really thought that he could really challenge to win the French Open as he has been in top form. On the other hand its good to see Wawrinka get back to top form and looks like a real danger to the other top players. At least I still got Thiem going so hopefully he can win it for me. Nadal and Federer keep tracking along nicely.
I have not watched the match but I was following the score and man it was stressful. When Tsitsipas lost his first set I thought to risk some money, I got good odd (@2.34) and I was happy. I had this confident that Tsitsipas will win eventually but in the last set even he had the first point but then he could not hold the serve. Lost the money but I really felt unhappy for Tsitsipas. I wish I could watch the match but I felt the hit even while I was watching the scores. |
