By the way, if someone made a self mod thread, and there are thousands  of reply in it and then one day he gets mad and start deleting all of them, shouldn't be allowed i think. Perhaps a restriction can be to delete X numbers of posts per day from a self moderated thread.

I guess we all really understand you're absolutely not happy about this and I think the guy's a d*ck for trolling like this, but either the forum allows self-moderated threads, or it doesn't. Whatever reason OP has, be it scamming, trolling, or just a bad mood, is ok to delete any post. If you start to invent more rules, it's by definition not really self-moderation anymore. I think it's simply an extra warning to you, and all other members (and especially Newbies), that self-moderated topics should always raise a red flag before you start posting.

Maybe we could propose to theymos to show the "self-moderation warning" in bold or in red or so...
702  Other / Meta / Re: The new rule (1 Merit for Jr. Member) is already reducing spam on: September 13, 2020, 09:04:08 AM
I guess this result is a combination of the Merit system and the demise of ICOs.

Which leads us to another interesting question: is the Merit system responsible for the demise of ICOs? Does this mean the Merit system has indirectly reduced the number of scams - supposing that genuine "honest" ICOs could survive even without bounty campaigns and Merit posters? Maybe that subject deserves a separate thread and study... Cool
703  Other / Meta / Re: Self Moderated thread All Posts Deleted on: September 13, 2020, 08:59:13 AM

Now my question is that is it allowed ? A lot of posts are deleted by this action and it will impact on the post counts too.
(...)

As mentioned above, the warning is there, it's actually the first thing you see before you read and reply in the thread: "If you do not want to be moderated by the person who started this topic, create a new topic".

This also means: if you are worried about your post count (for whatever reason that might be the case Roll Eyes), create a new topic.

Securypto (SCU) really can give x100

The first time I read about this shitcoin of yours was back 2019 and it's not even in the market after a long time they are still in ICO stage I don't know what can make this shitcoin go 100 times and to see John Mcafee on their homepage is a big warning sign to investors not to look and turn away from this project.

Looks like the McAfee thingy also reached the ears of the devs, since he's no longer part of the (paid) advisor/marketeer group. There's an entire paragraph about McAfee on Securypto's latest blog post. Further on, the zerocoin vulnerability has slowed SCU development down a lot.

Contrarily to many other "scam" projects, this dev has never wanted to put his projects on an exchange before having a working project. If you don't, people complain "it's not even in the market", and if you do, people call it a P&D exit scam. So what'll it be for you?

Let's be honest, they clearly didn't go for some quick money.

And lastly, don't forget the fact that the app is already up and running and under constant development. Encrypted messaging is coming in the next few weeks.

Anyway, it's not my mission to defend this project, but since dev is not anonymous and is still there working on development, for now, I think it's fair to still give him the benefit of the doubt.

New Direction

In de past couple of months it has been quiet around the project but in the silence we have keep working on both the Blockchain and he DigiSafeGuard app.

(...)

Thanks for the update. I don't have to tell you that there's always a lot of negativity surrounding any project, coming from people who don't really care about the project but only care about free money. You simply check your - or any - Telegram account to find "when exchange" and "project dead" posts, to know what I'm talking about.

All projects in the past have proven that patience is key, and that (continued) development is the only thing that matters to become successful. Maybe it's time you posted some screenshots and more photos about your progress to raise interest (again) in the SCU and DSG projects.

I support your policy of "first a product, then an exchange" from the very beginning and hope you'll find the time, energy and courage to continue development.

As for the new testnet: can we simply update the existing wallet, or is it necessary to re-download the entire program?

Thx!

@TheVladCostea

Decided to research Bitcoin pr0n and found this gem:

– Couple tries to buy BTC from ATM, stranger approaches them to inform that fees are too high;
– Stranger takes them to their office to sell them BTC in person.
– Boyfriend doesn't have enough money, so he trades GF for 1 BTC.

(...)

Not sure why he's looking so worried though. The guy just made the best investment deal in his life. Buy low. Cut expenses. Etc.

The problem with pr0n is, and always has been, its low quality script writers. Real shame.

People should know how many coins will be in circulation in 5 or 10 or 20 years because it's very important in the long run. To find that out people should know the meaning of the different terms:

(1) circulating supply = coins in circulation, this number is used to calculate the marketcap: coins in circulation x price per coin = marketcap
(2) total supply = (1) + coins currently locked (team / investors)
(3) max. supply = (1), (2) all coins including coins which are still to be mined / staked if PoS coins have such a cap, otherwise it's also (4)
(4) infinite supply (not directly mentioned at Coinmarketcap) = there is no cap currently

Top-notch input, guys. I've integrated your posts in the original post. I'll try to cut up my OP a bit in the next days, to make sure there's not too much text.
708  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am new in forum on: September 12, 2020, 12:17:00 PM
Welcome to the boards. In a nutshell: try to learn as much as possible, don't spam, don't plagiarize and have fun! Don't get too obsessed by Merits and getting rich, and you'll find your time in this community to be a very intense and lively experience, to say the least. Cool Enjoy!
709  Other / Meta / Re: EXPRESS THOUGHTS ABOUT B&H AND RANK AND MERIT SYSTEM on: September 10, 2020, 11:59:23 AM
You're making quite a few very interesting remarks, OP.

The Merit-ICO-bounty discussion is rather complicated, more complicated than you'd think at first glance: did ICOs disappear because most of them were scams? Did they disappear because of the Merit system, which decreased the number of (newbie/jr) participants, leading to less "naive" supporters? If so, then how do we explain the new DeFi scams? Etc.

The way I see it, the Merit system has limited the duration period of new spammers: spammers arrive and try to get a few Merits to be eligible for bounty campaigns and then start spamming for a few weeks or months, i.e. the duration of the campaign. After that, they receive their coins which are most of the time either of very low value, or scams, and sometimes they even don't get anything at all.

Thereafter, they realize they've wasted a lot of time for nothing and get out. Their only other option is to stop spamming to gain Merits (which is of course a good thing, but probably rather exceptional).

Conclusion is, I don't believe spamming will be completely eradicated, but spammers will give up eventually thanks to the Merit system. I do believe that it has already become virtually impossible to find post-2017 (post-Merit) high-ranked members spamming these boards.
710  Other / Meta / Re: Why doesn't the Bitcointalk forum have a mobile app? on: September 10, 2020, 11:37:54 AM
As long as you can zoom and only wish to read a bit (horizontally is indeed the ideal position, as mentioned above), it's perfectly possible to scroll and read through the threads on your mobile phone. I do it from time to time when I have some spare time.

But as soon as you want to write a reply that's a little longer than the standard 'yes sir great project moon', that's when frustration kicks in. Even logging in is a real pain in the bottom. I really don't see myself quoting, changing layouts, replying 3 alineas of text, etc. on my mobile phone.

I can't really imagine how an app or a mobile-friendly design could improve the whole thing; I'd say it's rather a simple practical battle of small screens and small virtual keyboards vs. a lot of text, which has nothing to do with the forum as such (but I'd be delighted to be proven wrong).

Before this thread gets deleted for ban evasion, or low quality or so, let's conserve this one for future generations:

This is a racist matter and we will have sex with everyone.

Sounds like a threat...

Here is the original post, although its still missing a lot of context (I think).

Sounded like a promise to me.

It was one helluva thread, but nothing you hadn't heard before, don't worry. Grin

IF you're a woman, under 40 years of age, around 55kg and nice looking, I'd like to meet and skull-fuck your brains out.
Teething and biting is not allowed, whilst rimming is most welcome.

Maybe I see things too often from a romantic side, but I absolutely don't understand why you would not allow teething and biting?

I almost got in alot of trouble for biting the hell out of a chick once. Smiley

That's right, I remember reading about you in the Mirror.
715  Other / Meta / Re: Asking For A Pardon - Banned for Plagerism 2 Years Ago on: September 07, 2020, 05:51:27 PM
Two years is enough to get started again and take the next step, in fact it wouldn't be hard again to continue because you have known the system. I am a full member within 3 months of constant and serious contributions, so I think you could have reached higher than keeps on requesting for you to get unban.
While you move on, have it as a ringing alert to avoid plagiarism at all cost, its not compulsory for you to type under pressure, relax tour mind and contribute from your perspective view of something, try to be real and of course merits will find its way to you.

You do realize that ban evasion is not allowed on this forum? Meaning you're not supposed to make a new account and "get started again", once you're banned.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen. Just saying it's not allowed.

Looks to me like the $1,000/btc and below price levels need more testing. I'm just telling ya'll the truth. I could see maybe bitcoin long term stable in the $200-$500 range after a lot of faffing about.

If we do go down there, $975 looks like some good support

If we reach $5, I'm intended to buy some more. So there's certainly some support at $5, modest but you've got to start somewhere.

It is refreshing to see that no one here has ever made a mistake before.    Tongue

It's refreshing to see that no-one here has ever plagiarized on this forum before.

If you want constructive feedback, I suggest you don't turn words around until they suit you.

That's just great! Thx a lot for that update and I hope development is working out well.

Sadly I haven't got a single bit of experience with development at all. Wish I found the time to learn to program, but you know how it goes... It could be a good idea though to bump your old post here. I've been following your story from around the very first day and I hope you'll find a new boost soon as well as some extra hands to help you out!

M Sarwar and BestEarningTips exposed:

In the Dutch forum:

In 2017 was the peak growth of crypto, it attracted many new users in the industry, many later left it after the deepest correction, but some have learned to earn and successfully entrenched in the blockchain industry since then, eg your bounty manager bubbalex Wink

Most users invested blindly in everything, there were a lot of identical and/or useless projects, everyone just heard that you can earn a lot and easy and tried to repeat this success. According to statistics released later, 44% of ICOs of 2017 were a scam.

Now the same thing is happening with DeFi, in my opinion. The success of several DeFi projects gave rise to a whole new milestone for the Blockchain projects. Most users who are disappointed with the long correction of the market finally believe in the bull market again and want to repel their losses and/or increase profits. In 2017, you could add the word Blockchain to the name of your project and collect a lot of money, now the same can be done by adding the word DeFi.

I don't mean that all projects are bad and they will fall, but I want to warn people. Despite the fact that in 2017 there were many good ICO projects that have been successfully developed so far, and now there are many good DeFi projects that will be developed in the future, most projects fail. Do not invest blindly in everything that is popular, understand the potential risks, think yourself and never follow others, it's your money and time.

I believe in blockchain technology, decentralization and decentralized applications and finance, but I'm extremely cautious about any hype, because when a hype runs out, some projects will close instantly and it's impossible to guess in advance whether you chose the right one. What do you think about DeFi? DApps are already proven themselves, will DeFi prove themselves too?
