Not only is Bitcoin NOT fungible it is ABSOLUTELY NOT fungible from a pure mathematical aspect.  EVERY satoshi has a pedigree.  You can trace it's origin all the way to the coinbase it was initially realized in.  And you can see the trail of addresses it is passed through to wherever it currently rests.

Not really. When you combine inputs you make the source indeterminate. Coins may taint coins they're mixed with if you want to take that view but that's something different.

Can you expound on this?

If I have a banned address and a good address and I combine inputs then won't my good address get linked to my bad address and chain analysis companies assume if you have the keys to combine you own both?

I'd hate to see someone burn a second address because this was misunderstood.

Potentially. That's the "tainting" I was talking about. Though there may be plausible deniability there in some cases and I don't know how LN plays into things (when it's not driving its node operators nutty).

I was just objecting to the "every Satoshi can be traced" which is just not factual. It's a bit nitpicky but I think important enough to bring up. Sometimes it's worth reminding ourselves that Bitcoin is a ledger and bitcoins are an abstraction that don't really exist.

Yes.  That bolded part.  And Lioghtning adds another whole dimension of abstraction.  I wonder how lightning over Liquid might work.  That could be a very private setup.  You peg in, and no one can even see you open a channel really...  it would be like a back hole inside a black hole.  "Cept they aren't really black... just shades of grey.

I need a drink.

I'm not sure I understand what all the fuss is about Bitcoin or any other crypto blockchain having complete privacy of transactions.

1. Any goods you purchase with bitcoin have to travel to your location via mail or truck, i.e., goods that can be tracked easily by govt or alphabet gang. Easily.

2. Any services you purchase with bitcoin can also be tracked by the establishment, and can be shut down/off. Easily.

3. Any bitcoin you trade for fiat will have to end up in one of your approved KYC/AML bank accounts, which is also tracked by govt/banking and can be monitored or closed. Easily.

The only thing that complete privacy would give you is maybe being able to cross borders with your bitcoin. But then try to purchase something or convert it there, and alarms go off for #1-3 above and you're being tracked in the new country once again.

Bottom line:
So even though a crypto/blockchain might have private transactions built in, it doesn't mean it affords you any real world privacy or non-traceability should you chose to actually do something with it.

Attempting the blacklisting of addresses is messy and fraught with issues, as Richy_T discussed. But having a traceable blockchain could be seen as a feature not a bug, and is probably why Bitcoin has not been banned outright by most governments as well as embraced by HNW investors and corporations.

I feel like everything I typed is the obvious elephant in the room that Bitcoiners/cryptoiners refuse to acknowledge. It's a kind of delusion or cognitive dissonance around Bitcoin that few seem to grasp.

It seems to me like the news and the price are not tightly correlated. The news always provide an excuse to dump, more rarely a reason to explain the pumps. Yet both happen. Price discovery, whale fuckery etc. Meanwhile, HODL.

This shit will go on until March. Then it will turn around. HODL.

You miss the point the point is :

"If you are disturbing enough"

Obviously BLM protest was not disturbing enough to the powers to be.

That's a really twisted way of saying that TPTB sanction one type of protest, but not another. It's very clear to everyone now that they only support the global agenda and "the message".

So I guess Canada is just going to arrest peaceful protesters now without cause or justification? Congrats Canada, you are now a communist country.

Covid is apparently so deadly and contagious and the vaccine mandates so needed there, that the arresting officers can't even be bothered to wear masks. Lol, what a fucking joke.  Roll Eyes

The truckers are lucky they have not been machined gunned to death.

I not saying killing them is appropriate I am saying they could have been blown away legally as the powers granted to the prime minister include that.

Most people simply do not realize most of the civilized world is a police state.

Do a disturbing enough protest and you get blown away.

It is the trade off for quote un quote a civilized  world.

Not saying I approve or disapprove simply saying it is what it is.

Nope you're wrong. Apparently around the world if you are a BLM/Antifa protester, you can throw bricks through windows, set cars and buildings on fire, attack other people in the streets, smash and loot stores, etc. and you will not get blown away or even arrested. You will get applauded by the libtards, heralded by the MSM, and even given more funds to continue being a domestic terrorist.

.... Hint: freedom doesn't look like wall-to-wall surveillance, propaganda, lies, riot cops in jackboots and balaclavas, secret contracts between multinational corps and govt, banks doing law enforcement .... these are traits of facist totalitarianism, unholy marriage of power between big corporations and big govt

I have heard some folks denigrate protest on one side versus applauding protests on another side - and the existence of riot cops does seem to be an ambiguous thing - because I cannot really blame status quo officials from striving to engage in some combating of protests and to label protests as something other than what they are.. sometimes protests become too powerful too.. so the use of trucks may or may not be legitimate, but you can appreciate the obstacles that such largess presents towards any government that might attempt to control such.

By the way, bitcoin can help us in these regards, but cannot necessarily fix matters when people are not sufficiently practiced in how to use it effectively.. so anyone can make mistakes, even very smart people.. and when those smart people are known.. they become actual targets that may well not be ready, willing and able to sacrifice their lil selfies for the cause... even if they say that they are willing.. it's not easy for someone who might be in his/her late 20s or early 30s to become willing to get locked up "out of principle."

We are not even going to necessarily agree with some of the substantive issues of some of the protests.. even though there is a lot of legitimacy that those kinds of dynamics can and should exist in "free" societies.. and this imagination of the government disappearing or everyone getting an island or a citadel is just not realistic.. there has to be some governance of public goods/services.. and part of the messy part is that we might not even be able to get two people to completely agree, so in some sense, some of the actual implementations of public goods/services policies/procedures/laws are going to end up having a lot of compromises... and hopefully somewhat representative of the overall population preferences rather than getting diverted into too much weight going to small groups that end up not really representing the overall better way of going forward involving not everyone getting their way..and maybe the structure ends up somewhat in order to NOT infringe too much either...  but not forgetting about providing opportunities for normies and maybe some folks who seem undeserving, too.

Agreed. Protests CAN work, if the goal of the protesters is reasonable/just and true democracy is allowed to prevail.

Man, what's ur problem? EU countries are dumping/discontinuing vaccination certificates for good. Other countries most likely to follow. Ur ridiculous theory of neverending vaccine boosters and concentration camps for the unvaccinated is crumbling into bits and pieces. We are going back to normal. Enjoy life! We've won the battle with the virus. Smile and have a good time! Life goes on so stop this antivaxx bs!  Cool

It must be nice living in some kind of la la land where you believe things have returned "back to normal". They haven't, not even close.

A "return to normal", aka life and freedoms before the plandemic hit, would be the following:

1. All vaccine mandates and certs removed, in every country, border, city, town, govt, corporation, store, grocery, restaurant, movie theater, sporting event, theme park, etc. where they were imposed.

2. Mask mandates dropped, everywhere, and in every country. Especially in schools, retail and grocery stores, movie theaters, restaurants, bars, sports, theme parks, etc. And for any kind of public national and international transport (airplanes, trains, buses, etc.)

3. No more "closing bars, restaurants, or nightclubs early" curfew bullshit.

4. A complete rescinding of covid lockdowns and temporary quarantines now, and forever in the future.

5. Stop involuntary covid testing, everywhere.

6. People allowed to return to work places and jobs that they lost because they got fired or let go for not getting a vaccine.

7. No more MSM fear mongering and bullying about covid variants or one's vaccine status.

Anything less is definitely not "going back to normal". And we all do want that, for sure. After 2 long years, who isn't tired of this shit? Blame the politicians and the CDC for dragging this out. The average person on the street is already over it all.

More proof that the vaccines did not improve mortality rates over the unvaccinated.

So what is Scotland going to do about it? Start hiding the numbers. Because the vaccines worked so well.  Roll Eyes

Also, PCR tests always have been a complete fraud from day 1:

Just checked the whether report to see when the rain is gonna stop, guess what, it isn't.
It's a ten day prognosis and it forecasts rain for ten days straight, Jippi!

Storms coming here tomorrow so I got up on the roof to take a look at what's been causing a leak and it seems that neither the people who replaced the roof last time nor the people who did it the time before had any fucking idea how to flash in a dormer window. Best I could do for now is slather some goop on but I may have to look at getting it done properly this year.

I just solved an infuriating roof leak around my wood stove flue myself, after pulling my hair out going round and round with the builder's crewmen for about 6 months on the leak issue. During storms, water was leaking in around the ceiling collar and dripping right down on top of my wood stove.

Turns out it was a hair leak where the outside stove flue meets the storm collar, even though they had reassured me multiple times that the storm collar had been amply caulked with the proper roofing sealant and that no way that water could be getting in through there. No it had not!

After re-caulking over it myself with liquid rubber (along with virtually everything else around it up there), problem fixed. No more leak.

Lesson learned: don't ever assume or trust that builder's crewmen know what the fuck they are doing, or what they are talking about. Even on a brand new build or installation.

Never understood those conspiracy theorists, it didn't end like a surveillance Gestapo regime.

Don't worry, they're still working on it. It's coming. But I'm sure that normie NPCs will just shrug it off and drink the koolaid like they have done with literally everything else.  Roll Eyes

712  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 15, 2022, 09:36:32 PM
They made their point. Sure they had some public sympathy at the start when it was still a peaceful protest. After they disrupted a major city making thousands of people's lives miserable, then blocked international trade costing billions of dollars, support quickly dwindled.
You mean like how the governments of the world shut down the entire world economy for a whole year, costing hundreds of billions of dollars in lost jobs and economic destruction?

Once you've gotten the message (or given it), hang up the phone.
Wow...a former hippie man of the 60's/70's that no longer understands the purpose of protests, which is to affect a change. How sad. They only want the mandates removed and their personal freedom restored, not just "acknowledged".  Angry

Don't believe everything you see in the mainstream social media.
Oh that's some ripe irony there.

You forgot the main narratives: "Vaccines work" and "vaccines are safu"  Wink
These are also the most absurd, just by looking at the official numbers.

It's like a mass hypnosis. Repeat it over and over again, until it is widely believed by the public, and everbody pretends that everybody "knows these facts"...
We're so primitive, so early in development of humanity, really.

In addition to vaccines not slowing or preventing the spread of Covid, they can't even show data where mass vaccination rates lowered "with Covid" mortality in any country:

Also relevant, this...

No global agenda, nothing to see here folks, move along...

"I am hoping that we see the police and military eventually defend the population gathered in the streets of Ontario rather than follow unrighteous commands from a leader who has clearly lost his countries heart."

that's delusional.  all parties asked the protestors to go home.  also, fuck em (says 3/4 of canada)
edit: nice little stash from protestors at one of the border crossings.  Restrictions are ending, time to end the economic blockade and reopen the car plants.  take credit if ya want

The protesters are protesting a single thing.  "Go Home" is not the answer they are looking for.   They are asking that vaccine mandates be dropped.  Framing them as something other than free Canadians who have a right under their own charter to protest is disingenuous.

And all the rhetoric about them being "White Supremacists, and Terrorists, and Confederates" (LOL!) is so transparent at this point it's hard to believe ANYONE is falling for it... but evidently some are?  And I think out of the tens of thousands of protesters find some guns might happen, but from all the live reports I have seen these protesters are peaceful.

75% of Canada approves of what the Trudeau administration is doing?  God, I hope not.

Naw, let's all support forced mandates so some of them can end up like this poor fellow from Ontario. Young and healthy at age 34, I'm 40,000% sure that Covid would have never killed him. A mild flu he would have gotten over in a few days at most. He never even tested positive for Covid, but was fully vaxxed. And now his poor wife has no one to blame and no one to sue.

Justin Castro 'Trudeau' ordered banks to freeze the bank accounts of protesters.

Insurance companies were ordered to cancel the car or truck insurance policies of protesters.

Protesters are not allowed to use any cryptocurrency as that now falls under "Terrorist Financing" rules.

The tyrant does not need any court orders as he declared a State of Emergency and showed his true colors.

Under the State of Emergency act, the government can arrest and detain anyone without trial.

He is forcing mandates on the people to take an experimental drug with no clinical trial data, with proven lethal or serious lifelong side effects and with zero legal repercussions, for what at this point amounts to a fucking cold (provided you even get infected at all). And being vaxxed spreads the virus even more.

All Canadians who support him on this are complicit in supporting tyranny. This is wrong and insane, and they should know that.

Goodbye personal liberty and freedom in Canada. When internment camps?

Poland wants to ban bitcoin, and wants the EU to do the same.
I only have a Swedish newspaper article, but I'm sure your google fu is good enough.

Does this FUD crap even matter anymore?

Russia said they were going to ban bitcoin, only to turn around 180 and move forward to make it a recognized currency. Wtf?

The news is all bullshit. All these countries are secretly buying and embracing it, regardless of what they "say" in the MSM.

The dominoes are falling behind the curtain.

We've been in a coordinated, global Bitcoin smear campaign for over a decade now.

The next phase they will move into, is how to get Joe Public to part with their precious bitcoin. Through merchant adoption.

The big elephant in the closet that even people that follow the $cience refuse to acknowledge:

The actual Covid-19 virus has never been isolated in the lab.

https://sciencedeception.com/2022-02-07-covid-virus-never-been-isolated-in-lab.html

https://andrewkaufmanmd.com/sovi/

https://www.johnccarleton.org/BLOGGER/2021/08/07/written-proof-cdc-has-no-isolated-purified-sample-of-sars-cov-2-virus-that-causes-covid-19/

Here we have one of the isolation studies that claims to have isolated and sequenced the SARS-Cov-2 virus. Below is the method they use to "isolate" the virus. Notice all of the sources of genetic material that they add to the patient sample and note there is no process that can separate the "virus" RNA from the added RNA when it comes to genomic sequence.

Vero = Monkey Kidney Cells

Fetal Bovine Serum = Blood from a unborn calf

SARS-Cov2 "Isolation"

Vero CCL-81 cells were used for isolation and initial passage. Vero E6,Vero CCL-81, HUH 7.0, 293T, A549, and EFKB3 cells were cultured inDulbecco’s minimal essential medium (DMEM) supplemented with heatinactivated fetal bovine serum(5 or 10%) and antibiotic/antimyotic(GIBCO). Both NP an OP swabs were used for virus isolation. For theisolation, limiting dilution, and passage 1 of the virus, 50 μl serumfree DMEM was pipetted into columns 2–12 of a 96-well tissue cultureplate. One-hundred μl clinical specimens were pipetted into column 1,and then serially diluted 2-fold across the plate. Vero cells weretrypsinized and resuspended in DMEM + 10% FBS + 2XPenicillin-Streptomycin + 2X antibiotic − antimycotic + 2 X amphotericinB at 2.5 × 105 cells / ml. One hundred μl of cell suspensionwere added directly to the clinical specimen dilutions and mixed gentlyby pipetting. The inoculated cultures were grown in a humidified 37°Cincubator with 5% CO2 and observed for cytopathic effect (CPE) daily.Standard plaque assays were used for SARS-CoV-2 based on both SARS-CoVand MERS-CoV protocols (19, 20).

Fetal Bovine Serum RNA Interferes with the Cell Culture derived Extracellular RNA

There's also no test that tests for Covid.
Let's take a look at the PCR test documentation from the FDA.
https://www.fda.gov/media/134922/download

“Since no quantified virus isolates of the 2019-nCoV were available for CDC use at the time the test was developed and this study conducted, assays designed for detection of the 2019-nCoV RNA were tested with characterized stocks of in vitro transcribed full length RNA (N gene; GenBank accession: MN908947.2) of known titer (RNA copies/µL) spiked into a diluent consisting of a suspension of human A549 cells and viral transport medium (VTM) to mimic clinical specimen.”

A test for Covid using no Covid samples using a test that cannot detect an infectious disease.
