701  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [banned mixer] | Best Bitcoin Mixer | Low fees | Fully automated on: April 07, 2023, 10:35:37 AM
There are many swap platforms (Instant exchanges) that do not require registration. Any altcoin can be converted into Bitcoin and then mixed using Mixer.
With regard to these so-called instant exchanges, we should take everything they say with a grain of salt [usually, they do have a part in their TOS that mentions they could still ask for other details (e.g. source of funds, KYC documents and etc...) and this happens more often than most would think (especially if one part of the equation involves mixers)]!

    • Settings > Apps > GCash > Storage > Clear data & cache

Starting with: https://en.bitcoin.it/w/index.php?title=Mining_hardware_comparison

Horribly out of date, doesn't even list S17 and S19; I am not a mining expert so @DaveF and anyone else interest you'll have to give me input into the specs.
That's going to be a huge update [best of luck], but you can begin by using the following platforms [use ctrl + f for SHA-256]:
- Unfortunately, for some of the details you still need to go to each of the manufacturers' pages, but it's a good start.

704  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The BEST Bitcoin price ticker widget for Windows PC. (Recommend) on: April 05, 2023, 03:53:11 PM
From v2.60, BitTab uses Edge WebView2 engine ( https://developer.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge/webview2/ ) rather than the legacy Internet Explorer engine.
It is based on the Chromium engine. That's the major change from 2.5x to 2.6x.
I believe that's the culprit and based on some of the issues & fixes [e.g. this one] on Google, it usually affects the CPU and memory, but for some reason, it's affecting my GPU instead.

Could you please reinstall the app to see if it solves the problem?
or
Can you test with a new portfolio including any single crypto like BTC/USDT?
I tried both of them and at first, I thought it worked, but as soon as I interacted with the app [specifically the Twitter feed section (scrolling and etc...)], my GPU usage goes up to the 20 - 30% range.
- From what I understood, normally it shouldn't have that kind of impact, so perhaps there's a bug that's causing it (BTW I'm using an Nvidia GPU on Windows 10).
705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Create Taproot address for your Bitcoin on: April 05, 2023, 02:10:19 PM
@SquirrelJulietGarden
OneKey recently added support for Taproot, so here are the steps for creating Taproot addresses in their Android app [it seems to be "open-source"]:

  • When you first open the app, it creates an Ethereum account by default, so you have to change it from the top of the page and select Bitcoin.
    • Then click the "create account" button:

  • Choose Taproot

  • Click "receive" button

706  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallets Lifespan on: April 05, 2023, 08:17:57 AM
I worry about using a harware wallet and once I need to sell the hardware fails.
It's worth noting that "used" hardware wallets [in general] don't have a resale value [selling an unused HW is hard, let alone a used one (I'm referring to normal people, as opposed to an official reseller of a certain brand)]!
- Considering that there's a very high chance of getting a modified version in secondhand markets, most buyers tend to stay away from that route!

It is rather a collectible than a wallet people would want to use and keep for its durability.   Roll Eyes
I tend to see it the same way.
You shouldn't [for the most part (unless you own a customized version)] if you're going to only buy one!
707  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallets April 1st Special Devices on: April 05, 2023, 06:33:01 AM
Second special devices was posted by Foundation Devices and it was called Pasport Stun,  that was offering protection against $5 wrench attacks Smiley
Now this is the kind of feature that I'd love to see in hardware wallets [whoever came up with it is a genius] Cheesy

Trezor released brand new April 1st device called Trezor Staxxx, coldest, most stable self-custody ever created.
It is so cold that is has to be stacked and kept in fridge.
I have to admit, I really enjoyed seeing Trezor taking a dig at Ledger Tongue

Does anyone know about any other ''special'' hardware wallets released on April 1st?
A hardware wallet, NO, but a software wallet, YES... Blockstream released "this" for Jade but having said that, the more I'm reading about it [e.g. here's one], the more I think this might actually be true [can someone confirm if it really works]!
708  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Stack wallet for mobile? on: April 04, 2023, 09:53:36 PM
It can also be a bit confusing they didn't separate wallets on their website, and there is not much information except on twatter.
Another strange move by them, but perhaps they're planning to create a dedicated website for the Stack Duo.

When you enter the wallet section and want to return to the Home Screen, the Wallet delay of a few seconds cannot be pressed on anything
(not until it crashes). That could be a bug in the appearance of the Home Screen.
I tried replicating it with my Android device [for both of their wallets], but I had no luck so I checked their Twitter timeline and they did release a statement earlier mentioning there's "a major bug on iOS that causes crashes [it has something to do with their current Monero library (they'll change it soon, but no ETA yet)]".
709  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The BEST Bitcoin price ticker widget for Windows PC. (Recommend) on: April 02, 2023, 12:34:30 PM
My bad

I guess I was so exhausted yesterday
Don't be, it could happen to anyone Smiley

Normal apps are just fine apart from bittab version 2.60 as i noticed recently
Same here... Considering that a lot has been added to the app in question, it's probably just poorly optimized but having said that, it also feels like it has a cryptojacker in it [to a small extent (I'm not trying to accuse OP of anything but personally, I don't have issues with free apps that have such things as long as they explicitly mention it in multiple places and only use a small percentage of my resources while I'm using their app].
710  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SIM Registration: Anong Dapat Ipag-alala? on: March 31, 2023, 06:17:14 PM

711  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitcoin Watches on: March 31, 2023, 04:51:58 PM
Sad I missed out on Blockwatch V1 and was hoping to get in on this.
For what it's worth, you can create your own version [with a personal touch] of Blockwatch V1 while also saving some money in the process... From what I can see, they were using the "Watchy E-Paper Smartwatch kit [by SQFMI]". It's open-source by design [HW and SW], so if you know how to code or you're willing to learn, then it could be the next best thing:

712  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 32 Hardware Wallets, compared feature by feature on: March 31, 2023, 03:14:56 PM
That’s true for most wallets but it’s kind of a design flaw from the manufacturer, since it is an important security feature to be able to destroy the device easily.
You have a point, but when it comes to a 5$ wrenching attack, the attacker could still hit you until you give them the seed phrases [in other words, destroying our devices would only cause a delay against this type of attack].

Not only because you need it in case of an attack but also if you want to throw away your device after it is old.
Personally, I'd still keep it in someplace safe [after wiping/resetting it] even if it becomes obsolete, but I've seen a microwave oven and a hammer would do a wonderful job of destroying these kinds of devices.

In my coldcard the secure storage devices are clearly labelled and easy to destroy for example.
Are you implying that there's an easy way to trigger its self-destruct mechanism and that actually bricks the device instantly, as opposed to wiping it [I've noticed most wallets tend to only wipe it] or you were referring to something else?
- Based on the two coldcard models that are in the above table, they don't seem to have the former.
713  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The BEST Bitcoin price ticker widget for Windows PC. (Recommend) on: March 31, 2023, 12:33:36 PM
Ever since I updated your app to version 6.20, the laptop fans spin endlessly like crazy whenever I run the app.
I'm not sure if that's how they are numbering the different releases for the PRO version, but for the free versions, it starts with a 2 [v2.61 > v2.51 > v2.41]... I just tried the latest version [v2.61] and I can also confirm the higher fan spins [especially at the beginning (it uses around 30% of my 5-year-old GPU, in a form of interrupted spikes)].

  • I don't know what version I had before the update, but it certainly wasn't as resource intensive as v6.20
Same here... Last time I checked, my ancient laptop [without a dedicated graphics card] didn't have any issues running it, but now even my 5-year-old desktop is feeling the load [especially in the first few minutes of running the app].

How sure am I that is Install v6.21, the app won't tell to that there is a newer version of v6.22 which is available?
I guess you can always rely on the version that's available on their "download page".
714  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Stack wallet for mobile? on: March 29, 2023, 06:01:42 PM
You confused me a bit with this reply. Are you saying that you couldn't find the generated Stack wallet address by importing the seed into Electrum even after increasing the gap limit to 2000? What derivation path does Stack wallet use for Bitcoin by default? You mentioned m/84'/0'/0', but that's the standard one for Bech32 addresses. What were you scanning before that?
Sorry for not describing it in a clear manner [my bad], but you nailed it... By default, the first generated Bitcoin address has a derivation path of m/84'/0'/0'/0/0 [change address is m/84'/0'/0'/1/0] and for the second and third generated Bech32 addresses is m/84'/0'/0'/0/1 and m/84'/0'/0'/0/2 respectively. I only used that particular derivation path as an example, but stack wallet/duo also supports Legacy & Wrapped segwit, and earlier, I did my tests for these two as well.

If you tick the scan common derivation paths button (or whatever it's called), does the software find it?
I completely forgot that feature existed [out of habit (SMH)], but since I ditched my stack wallet seed phrases a week after making the small payment tests, I would've not been able to use the "detect existing accounts" feature in Electrum because the seeds that I used earlier, didn't have any pre-existing accounts attached to it.
715  Other / Meta / Re: Forum observation and polite suggestions on: March 29, 2023, 04:48:49 PM
* Forum should make creation of newly register accounts easier to avoid making people to make use of fake names, emails and ID's.
It literally takes a minute to create an account, but a part of me thinks you might be referring to issues surrounding units of evil. Am I correct? Regardless of that, it's not a good practice to use your real name or anything that connects your online persona to your real identity [websites/forums are always a target for hackers and if they manage to gain access to the database, then they could use such information for all sort of things]!

If yes then BTT (Bitcointalk) do have merciful rules like if you violate some rules like spammy posts or bust posting and plagiarism posting or using AI content to get attention etc. Then you will not be banned instantly but you will be alerted with a warning so next time you should not do that.
AFAIK, the highlighted part results in a permanent ban.
716  Economy / Collectibles / Re: WTB MICROSOUL COINS on: March 29, 2023, 02:29:31 PM
Looking to buy peeled or funded Microsoul coins,
Ive made 4 deals so far. Thank you. Still looking.
I still have a Microsooul coin, but I'm not sure it'd be useful to you... It's also a 2014 Microsoul 0.01 BTC Series-1, but it's peeled and ungraded ["it used to have ANACS MS 67 grading"]: Pictures
Note: I'm not sure where you're currently residing but unfortunately, I can't ship to the US.
717  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Stack wallet for mobile? on: March 29, 2023, 09:49:32 AM
Stack wallet released new version called Stack Duo that is only used for Bitcoin and Monero.
It's worth noting that this one doesn't allow you to take a screenshot of the recovery phrase page, but the other one still does [quite strange]!

import your seed into a different client, like Electrum (ticking the BIP39 seed box during the setup stage).
I think this could be the issue with derivation paths, but you should be able to recover seed words to any other bitcoin wallet with same format.
Speaking of Electrum and derivation paths, I had no luck finding them [I even increased the gap limit to 2000 and also used ismine("type your address") in the console, but it kept showing false] when I used the exact derivation paths that stack duo [this probably applies to stack wallet as well] shows for each of their addresses, so in case someone else stumbles onto a similar issue, just go with what Electrum suggests by default [until account (e.g. m/84'/0'/0')].
718  Other / Archival / Re: [BIG LIST] Hardware wallets (80+) on: March 28, 2023, 08:00:49 PM
I want to buy Nano Ledger X from the official site but I am in the region of Asia (indonesia) where Bitpay is not allowed then how can I buy this hardware wallet with bitcoins?

I don't like any other payment options except bitcoin.
It seems that the "Crypto.com Pay" option is also available [IIRC, it doesn't have any limits for Indonesians, but do some research before using it]:

  • After clicking its button, you have to select other cryptocurrency wallets from the bottom left corner of the pop-up window > type your email, agree to their terms [don't forget to "read" them], then click the continue to payment button > change the payment currency from CRO to BTC > pay.

Alternatively, you can try one of their "official resellers" as well [DYOR].
719  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam alert] Fake Arbitrum airdrop claim website.. on: March 27, 2023, 03:17:46 PM
I managed to find a few more fake airdrop websites:
Note: I replaced all of the valid links with their respective archived versions!

Please take a minute to also report the above websites to their registrars [you can find their names by clicking each of the creation date links].

BTW, there's one more in the following thread: FAKE ARBITRUM PRESALE AND AIRDROP ONGOING (NEVER JOIN PRESALE)

Hindi fair na ituring natin sila bilang isang scammer dahil never sila nag scam [there's a big difference between how someone uses a particular platform and what that platform does or doesn't]!
