701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Macron supporting bitcoin? what does it mean for us? on: May 15, 2017, 10:54:49 PM
Typo error? Sorry, but there's no excuse. Don't they have proofreaders? Don't they check the correct spelling of a word if they're not familiar with it? I do. I know France has low standards, but failing to write correctly bitcoin on a government's document where it's very precisely the subject is telling a lot.

Let me remind you that you are telling us firstly France doesn't know anything about Bitcoin and is a loser because there is a typo in a PDF document. How silly is such argument? You are just ridiculous and not a credible person. Yet you make yourself typos as well, so according to you, you'are a loser as well. Ironic. And no, France doesn't have "low standards", I can see you don't know anything. I guess Google is available in your country ? Use it wisely

I don't make typo errors. I can't afford it. I would lose my job if I did, so I'm paying proofreaders, people who check and correct my words if necessary. Besides, when I wrote about "low standards", I wasn't only thinking about typography. I've been in France 4 times so far this year (I'm also going to Paris next Friday, but it will be a quick trip, I'll arrive in the morning, and leave in the afternoon), 3 times before going to Italy, and Italy is cleaner, with more polite people. Believe me, I know France, all the neighboring countries, and I'm very good when it comes to comparing countries.

Back to Macron, I'm still waiting for a tangible proof of his supposed support.

Oh Paris ?  oh yeah, man you're so funny. What a great representation of France, you make my day seriously Cheesy Cheesy

Like most French, I'm afraid you're plain stupid, believing to know everything without actually knowing anything. Sorry to point it out, my apologies, but you should not suppose things about me without knowing me. I've lived in Paris, Cannes and Nice. I've hired and fired French people (loved that last part). I owned an apartment on the Riviera, and a house in Brioude (bought in 2008, sold in 2012). Are you familiar with Brioude? I was, and I'm sure there are many places in France I know and you don't. And I've also been living in Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain, so I repeat myself, I know France very well, and my knowledge of other countries enables me to make valid comparisons.

I've seen the news about the new prime minister from Le Havre, I've been swimming there once. He has a lot to do with Macron, and I believe they will fail, because French people are viscerally opposed to change.
702  Other / Politics & Society / Re: VOTE * Do you believe in "Intellectual Property" laws? on: May 12, 2017, 10:56:02 PM
Despite owning a lot of IP, I voted no.

Intellectual property was invented by rich people so that they could keep their wealth while the poor would remain poor. IP's also a recent invention. The world was doing fine before it was invented.

So, what do you think? If someone invents a technology or a drug, then he should not have the right to profit out of it?
Naturally the inventor is obviously entitled to the right to profit but its up to the inventor to find a way to  be part of the project of course not using back doors. Look at who the bitcoin technology has grown without IP considered and how altcoin developers profit from their inventions by a simple premine to keep them part of the project. To be honest bitcoin technology has revolutionized how open-source tools can help anyone profit without IP barriers

Inventing something is only the beginning. With technology getting more and more sophisticated, it's getting more and more difficult to copy. Besides the invention, you need to be smart enough to produce it efficiently. Look at the hybrid cars from Toyota. Their hybrid technology is heavily patented, but even without those patents, I doubt another car company could make a car as good at the same cost.

704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING:network under Massive spam attack. on: May 12, 2017, 10:22:15 PM
This is getting scary. There's been over 100K unconfirmed transactions for more than 24 hours. When is this going to end? It's also very impressive. I can't believe there's a single attacker behind all this. This got to be a concerted effort with, many, many computers.

I guess BTC needs to protect itself, maybe with a fixed minimal fee, so that spam attack would get more costly.

706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mempool ATH - 140K unconfirmed transactions on: May 11, 2017, 10:27:16 PM
A peak of unconfirmed transactions is not alarming. What worries is that it doesn't go back to 0 after a while. We've had more than 40K unconfirmed transactions for 10 days. Something has to change. SegWit is probably the easiest solution to fix the problem.
707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: time to admit its not "spam" , blocks are full on: May 11, 2017, 10:16:30 PM
I created exactly the same topic about a year ago. It's much worse now, with rising fees, more and more delays, some transactions failing to confirm, and some risk of a hard fork. What's truly amazing, is that BTC's price keeps on rising.

Proof that France doesn't know anything, nor supports BTC:

http://www.strategie.gouv.fr/sites/strategie.gouv.fr/files/atoms/files/cp_lancement_blockchain_def.pdf

It's an official document from the French government. On the first paragraph, it's very revealing. They made a mistake. They wrote "bitcon" instead of "bitcoin". If they don't even know how to spell bitcoin, I'm not expecting much from them...

What a bunch of losers!

710  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Approves Plan To Directly Arm Kurds; Turkish Lira Tumbles on: May 10, 2017, 11:07:47 PM
Good. It's about time people realize Syria will never return to what it was. Come to think of it, Syria's borders were less than one century old, and those borders were invented by outsiders. It just makes sense to let the locals create theirs own countries and borders. And the Kurds certainly deserve to get their own country. They've been fighting for more than 100 years to get it.
711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Macron supporting bitcoin? what does it mean for us? on: May 10, 2017, 10:55:55 PM

Come on, those are all BS websites or plain fake news. There's nothing to say Macron supports BTC on his website, nor on any serious French media. A picture of the guy holding a smartphone is not revealing.
712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $0.85 transaction fee is absolutely ridiculous! on: May 08, 2017, 04:32:03 PM
I just made a 668 bytes transaction and it took 25 minutes to confirm despite a very high 0.00120067 BTC fee (6 confirmations after 40 minutes). That's nearly $1.90. Larger blocks are urgently needed. Guess I've been saying that for years....
713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Macron supporting bitcoin? what does it mean for us? on: May 08, 2017, 04:12:35 PM
I don't expect anything. Why should we?
France is midsize country with terrible public finances and high unemployment, that Macron guy has many more priorities before thinking about BTC.
714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else HAVE most or maybe ALL of their money in btc/crypto? on: May 03, 2017, 11:35:47 PM
I invested 3% of my savings in BTC in 2013. Best investment I've ever made. The sum makes nearly 30% of my savings right now...
715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Funny articles about legal Marijuana business cash problem on: May 03, 2017, 11:28:24 PM
It's not new. Companies dealing with drugs which are legal in one state can only use banks which only operate in that state, not banks operating in all US states.
716  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Emmanuel macron is the next President of France. on: May 02, 2017, 10:49:57 PM
Macron has no merit. He's just an opportunist. I wish there could be some dose of meritocracy in french politics, but I'm dreaming. Marine Le Pen is where she is because of her father, while Macron was a nobody 3 years ago. He only got famous when the president choose him to become minister. He's young and bullish. I'm not sure he is what France needs, but frankly I don't care. I think that country is doomed. Every time I'm going there, there are strikes and street blockades...

Doomed yeah,
The only developped country that still tries to resist capitalism without limit.
Yeah we go on strike. Cause we don't see why we should be paid less and less while every company is growing and every share holder is earning more and more Wink

I don't understand. Some people are successful, obviously they're not related to you, but you think that their success should be shared with you? Why? If you're a loser, you have to change yourself. The winners, nor the world doesn't need you.

That's why I left actually, too many losers there. I've sold the apartment I had on the riviera in 2014. I think Ethiopia is much nicer than France nowadays. The people are nicer, they work harder while being paid only a fraction of what the average French makes, and they're also happier.

M.Macron, if elected, will have a lot to do. I hope he can do greater things than seducing a woman 25 years older than him. Is that his greatest achievement?
717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes the bitcoin price stronger in the market? on: May 02, 2017, 10:35:04 PM
The risk of a hard fork is probably gone, but solutions to the scalability issue are still far away. SegWit is still months from gaining the support it requires. I guess demand is moderate, but most people are holding till the problems are solved, and that pushes the price up, but that may be a bubble.
718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Girl gets raided by police looking for bitcoins on: May 02, 2017, 10:30:24 PM
We don't know the whole story, yet. We need more facts. I've done many bank transfers all other Europe, and suspicious transactions will be be notified to the tax authorities by the banks, but that's not enough to get you raided by police. The police must have had something else against that woman.

720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen with Bitcoin if it never scales? on: April 30, 2017, 11:54:57 PM
Anyone having Swiss francs in his wallet?

I do. It's a strong and very stable fiat currency. Switzerland is a small country, and it's currency is well regarded by all investors, holding its value among the US dollar or the Euro from much larger economies.

I hope BTC will become like the Swiss franc.
