No, undervalued Wink

But Iīve heard (I didnīt go throught the 100+ pages thread) that the original etoken may be buggy, so it is worthless, thatīs why there is this new thread.. what about that?

I bought 830 etokens on coinedup. Does this mean that they are worthless?

HELP NEEDED TO CREATE A LANDING PAGE!

I have registered startnxt.com (and startnxt.net) and would like to create a landing page! I am looking for a designer who will help me to create a simple, but sexy landing page for new users. We have a few clients (including the web client of wesleyh!), a few functions (aliases, AE, transparent forging), two forums and a few other nxt homepages with different onformationsets which needs to be introduced to new Nxters.

The homepages we currently have are not so userfreiendly and contain too much information for Avarage Joe. I want to have a 1-pager, where the user is guided through all the functions of Nxt when he is scrolling down. I donīt want to have too much information (nor too much text, I prefer graphics) on the page, but all the graphics should be clickable and should link to other sites where the user has access to more information (a link to http://info.nxtcrypto.org/ or to the wiki for example).

The focus needs to be on the graphics, not on the information, as this page would only work as a landing page from where the user can navigate to other pages where he can have access to more detailed infos.
you mean something like http://mynxt.org ?

yes, something like that

I want to inform you all that bter indeed sent me my 100k already. Thanks for all that helped. So basically the drone in charge of support@bter.com cannot access any information and simply replies out of thier ass, After serious emails back and forth and many information submitted by from thier own systems, They gave in and actually forwarded my complain to the people in charge, was solved a couple of hours afterwards.

Congratulations

Now you can dump them Cheesy

Do you need additional help/support from community?

I think for now we have enough people to get this implemented but when we get to the "testnet" stage we'd be hoping to get some extra help.

Ok! Let me know if you need anything. I am not an experienced coder, but am happy to help you with organisational stuff wherever I can.

Hi NXTers!

NXT's greatest competitor seem to be Ethereum. It's main feature that NXT still lacks is scripting, which is a wonderful idea (along with it's risks of course) - kudos to Vitalik and his team for bringing this up!

Because I want NXT to be competitive and because this is a great feature on it's own, I decided to personally fund a team led by CIYAM and CfB (as long as he is with us), to implement this technology in NXT too!

The code will be open sourced when the feature is finished and extensively tested.
We will use a private github repo if others want to easily review the source during development.

Let the good times roll!

Awesome klee

guys, instead of making 3 new domains/websites because you dont like the current one at www.nxtcrypto.org, why not make suggestions to the site?  Everything was formed with the idea that we wanted the community to decide what they wanted, and we would make it so

<gateway stuff>

Nice work on getting us all started on this.  Keep in mind that for some assets such as BTC you could just imply a certain number of decimal points for more resolution.  Its times like this I wish I had gone the CS route in stead of the easier IT route in university - Im no coder.  Oh well, wish I could help out more.

But yes, the trust thing will be difficult.  Possibly some aspect of account control will assist here, whenever it comes out, since it looks like we will see account control instead of regular multisig.
One of the critical parts of the gateway is the trusted server  and that's your area isn't it?

How much would it cost to run a hardened gateway server?
Also, is there a way to set it up so that the keys used for the deposit wallet are only accessible to the gateway program itself? Here I go with the crazy stuff, but I cant help it, I spend all day researching about zeroknowledge this, magical algorithm that. It just gets to the point if I assume that anything can be done, usually somebody says, I read about something like that here <magic URL>

So, let us ignore how we initialize this server as that is most tricky.

I am imagining that there is a way to get a runtime signature of the gateway software code. This will be independently scanned and validated before any wallet access by a separate process. Maybe its as simple as a signed .jar file. We need a secure way to access the wallet for all the different cryptos. We want to make sure only the approved gateway code is able to do this.

I need somebody who knows about multisig, crypto in general, magic, to help figure out how the runtime can be secured. Even if somebody gets access to the server, I want the most damage they could do to be to blow up the server. this is a pain, but with all the pending transactions store in AM in the NXT blockchain, after a delay, everything should be back to normal

I am pretty sure somebody supertrusted needs to set things up, eg. making sure the code is compiled from the approved source and creating all the different keys and putting the backup in a physically secure place to be accessed only in emergency.

Not sure at all the right process, just throwing out something as a starting point for someone who knows how to properly setup a secure server and a bit of crypto magic

a hardened secure server isnt too difficult - any fool can buy the equipment and install it into a secure hosting facility.  hardening it from access is a little trickier but can be done.  abstracting the runtime for the server is the part that is nearly impossible - would require basically 2 people living together to accomplish that - for this business Id say that is most likely undoable.

will have to think about this more.

I, from my side, was only talking about a landing page, not a new homepage. A 1-pager where someone who is new to Nxt (but has general understanding of cryptos) can start his way which can lead to the wiki, nxtcrypto, dgex, bter, or any other site with more specific information about a topic.

I too have thought this is very important and have been considering registering new2nxt.com as the jump page.  If you can get this implemented in the next 2 weeks I would like to get it on biz cards to hand out at the Texas conference.

I'm doing this already with BitVenturer.  Cool

Count me in on this effort as my full-time input on NXT between now and the Texas conference.  This is of critical importance in bringing new users into the fold.   I will assist in generating text / identifying URLS etc. but unfortunately my web design skills are non-existent.  I just checked and the new2nxt.com/net/org domain names are all wide open.  I personally would really prefer this to startnxt - mcjavar, what do you think about this?  Passion/BV - where is a sample of your card design?

Will deliver on sunday. It will be made with bootstrap, similiar to bitcoin.org, very simple yet beautiful. We still need to check the financings..

But we definitely need help with the english textes, russian and german is no problem.

bitcoin.org has too much text for me. I would prefer more graphics and less texts.

I am more than open to anything. I just want to make it easier for newcomers to get along with nxt as it is very complicated now to start and the homapges (with due respect to all people working on nxt related sites) are far too complicated and the new users are overwhelmed by the way too much information popping up at the homapages. I want to grant an overview and a guide into the world of nxt Smiley
I am ready to invest from my own pocket and will do it with an "offline" graphic designer if there are no designers around here.

I donīt think itīs a problem if we have the same landing page (or different landingpages) on several domains. The most important thing is to allow newcomers to get on the boat easier.

Here's my Nxt client, still in development, you may find some bugs, but wanted to show off this version:

(Btw, totally untested in IE, better use a different browser if you find UI quirks there).

http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/

As you'll see it's a web client. It is my hope that this might one day replace the official NRS web client now seen at http://localhost:7874 but that is up to Jean-Luc and CFB to decide.

I chose HTML/JS as the programming language because it has a few advantages:

- Source is just a click away (right click the page > view source)
- It's easy - lots of people know javascript and HTML - this means multiple people can work on this together.
- It's cross compatible and runs on any device.

I will be making a 1 click installer for linux/windows/mac later on as well.

For now it runs on my server, since it connects to the test network, there is no worry concerning passwords. Do not use your real account password.

I hope you appreciate this effort, if you do - my Nxt id is: 8189784314684138350

Here are some screenshots:

This webclient is so cool wesley! Big-big respect for your work!

Now, that we have a lot of functionalities and clients, we would need a simple landing page for the new users to access all these tools and functions. What do you need? I am ready to offer some bounty for a designer achieving this and would pay for the domain and hosting for 10 years.

Maybe someone should create BullDoge on top of NXT  Smiley The stronger Doge. As a parody and as a show of force of NXT.

Actually, please do - to garner some attention from the Doge crowd.

BullDoge is freaking brilliant. Who's in? I'll spring for domain and hosting.

Go for it. I will promote this in my Blog (second biggest German Altcoin-Blog)

Good plan!

If you all would put your energy in promoting nxt, that would be better.
