721  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New Mt Gox Press Release - Feb 10 - they are claiming flaw in bitcoin protocol ! on: February 10, 2014, 11:33:32 AM
Why do we drill "mainstream" people with "Decentralized" when one exchange's not so legit announcement can do to the market what mtGox did today? How is that not centralized?

People's decision to sell (at 120 USD at BTC-e for example) was a perfectly decentralised decision. No one else was forced to buy or transact at such valuations!  Cheesy

I don't get why people would sell that low. Surely they can only be losing money.

They'll surely lose a lot more when the price climbs back up like it is now.
722  Other / Off-topic / Re: GoogleCoin on: February 10, 2014, 11:28:18 AM
Aren't they actually going to do some sort of coin or currency now, or was that Apple?

Think it was apple. Google is doing some sort of wallet and is thinking about encorporating Bitcoin or something.
723  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New Mt Gox Press Release - Feb 10 - they are claiming flaw in bitcoin protocol ! on: February 10, 2014, 11:10:53 AM
This is a blame game - they want to buy some time.
If the procol got bugs, how come it's only MtGox that has detected this bug?

Also, why has it gone 5 years before the bug was found, this is pure Bull, i dont believe it.

 Angry

It's probably not even a bug just gox passing blame.
724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][STCY] StacyCoin on: February 08, 2014, 06:03:26 PM
What's next? A Max & Stacey coin?

What are you?  On F*^%$%g glue?

Only a$$oles say stupid things like "Only the uneducated believe in conspiracy theories."

I think the term 'conspiracy theory' is used to mock and denigrate now as any legitimate concern is mixed in with all the nonsense claims of aliens and Illuminati crap, but the NSA revelations were just a 'conspiracy theory' up until a short while ago.

you mad

Nope. You troll?
726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Florida men arrested for trading bitcoins!!!! on: February 08, 2014, 05:07:13 PM
The part of these cases that could have the most impact is not the sale coins to someone with malicious intent, but the fact that because of their volume of sales through localbitcoins.com they were both charged with failure to register as a "money transmitter" business. So does this mean that anyone who sells coins through localbitcoins.com (or a similar service) needs these state & federal licenses?

There was a recent ruling recently by the feds that seems to me to apply, but I am not an attorney.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) today
published two administrative rulings, providing additional information on whether a person’s
conduct related to convertible virtual currency brings them within the Bank Secrecy Act’s (BSA)
definition of a money transmitter. The first ruling states that, to the extent a user creates or
“mines” a convertible virtual currency solely for a user’s own purposes, the user is not a money
transmitter under the BSA. The second states that a company purchasing and selling convertible
virtual currency as an investment exclusively for the company’s benefit is not a money
transmitter

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I ask the question - if one buys and sells bitcoins in an attempt to make a profit (regardless of volume), using localbitcoins.com (or a similar service), then that activity is not considered to be a money transmitter, subject to the federal or state laws?

It all depends on the volume.
727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CEO OF BITCOIN EXCHANGE ARRESTED on: February 08, 2014, 04:47:01 PM
Moreover, having Shrem himself bought something on SR, he can't say he was not aware of SR main interest...

Not sure if it makes sense, this is just my opinion but I'm looking forward to reading your comments..

That's actually a seemingly strong argument, to the point you've seen it over and over again in news stories, i.e. Shrem bought pot brownies from Silk Road, so he must have known it was nothing but a crime operation.

If this is actually their strongest argument, though, it's really weak.  It's sort of like arguing that because the co-owner of a mall once scored weed at the food court there, this is proof he knew the mall itself was actually just a drug operation in disguise.  It looks good on paper the first time you see it, but not if you actually think about it much.

I doubt the Silk Road connection is their only argument. They'll just get him on some money laundering or tax-evasion.
728  Economy / Speculation / Re: i put almost all my money and lost a lot on: February 08, 2014, 04:43:38 PM
These type of people are just looking for a get rich quick scheme, and panic when the price stagnates or falls. They don't care about it as a currency or a revolutionary concept or what happens to it in the long run, but just want to earn a load of easy money in the short term.

This is why corrections are necessary, to shake Bitcoins out of weak hands. Very healthy for Bitcoin in long term

I agree. These kind of collapses at least scare idiots away who think they can just make a quick buck as the profit will keep on magically rising.

bro not only dedication you need to do too much work 135 daily posts without any leave is very hard some time I cannot do 10 or 15 then 135 is almost a quantaty and all must be constructive
Yeah I agree sometimes I can hardly post 10 posts other times maximum 35-40!

I don't have any targets. I just do what I can when I've got time and anything I do is a bonus.
yes I agree this is bonus now I am also going to settle this bonus in some constructive way last 4 months all bonuses gone to casinos and sports betting sites

You gambled it all away? Shocked

Yea, we are all armchair lawyers!

What we need is a case in court to start setting some precedents.

The DPR case goes to trial in November.  Now that will be interesting.

What? That's ages away. What happens to people who get thrown in jail while they await trail and get found not guilty? Can they sue or get compensation etc?
732  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.8BTC/month just by posting! - Advertise for PrimeDice.com! *Updated on: February 08, 2014, 04:24:58 PM
Looks interesting, will definitely sign up for this once I get some more posts to my name. Bookmarked.

You can choose other deals which you can start now on some of them. Here's an overview thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=333916.0

I'm wondering if someone can elaborate on what PrimeDice sees as 'constructive posts'.
Are these all replies that are not

- +1
- I agree with ____
-Single random image
-Trolling/flaming

kind of posts?
Could someone who has been paid out last month please tell me how much 'non-constructive' posts were deducted from their total amount of posts?

Just make posts that are relevant to the thread or discussion. If you agree with a post, don't just say +1 or I agree, but give you reasons for why you agree. You don't need to write essays each time, but just make sure your posts are constructive and you're not just spamming crap for the sake of payment.

+1 lol.

736  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-07]Alleged Silk Road Creator Ross Ulbricht Pleads Not Guilty on: February 08, 2014, 03:44:11 PM
There seems to be a lot of missinformation and unclarity on the subject. Lots of people seem to think he's turned and given up his coins and grassed a lot of people up, and others still say this.
737  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-05]WIRED:Apple Yanks World’s Most Popular Bitcoin Wallet From App Store on: February 08, 2014, 03:41:43 PM
I'm so glad I still have the blockchain app, although I guess it's useless if nobody else can have it. Poor move.

Maybe they will still have it or have a jailbroken or different phone. Hopefully people will gradually transition away from Apple now anyway.
738  Other / Off-topic / Re: Destroying apple phones. on: February 08, 2014, 03:39:36 PM
Lol Anyone else think that a bitcoin app would of just came up on Cydia on a jailbroken iPhone Smiley ?  :
You can boycott their products if you feel you don't agree with their statements but if it is personal property, well if it was mine, I would of kept it. But his phone is not mine so it's not my decision to make.

As far as I know, blockchain app has been in Cydia forever now... Anyone who cries over apple limitations obviously never heard of a jailbreak. lol

What's cydia? You can still just use the blockchain website. You don't need the app.
739  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.5 BTC/month to Advertise Bit777 & Peerbet! on: February 08, 2014, 03:12:56 PM
Not to be a dumb question, but outside of my post & activity account to the left does my post count generate elsewhere for this total?  Reason asking is I am interested to see if there is a running total, reset each month, where I can see a projected amount of BTC that should be being sent my way for free advertising...

What do you mean?
740  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Overview of Signature-Ad Campaigns on: February 08, 2014, 03:11:43 PM
Is primedice the highest payer? What site  is the best?
bit777 and primedice both are higher paying and most active campaigns on this forum working for long time without any problem

Bit777/Peerbet pays the same as Primcedice if you get your money sent to your betting account, but you can only earn up to 0.5 on Bit77 though.
but I don't think any one have this or going to try this because its need too much spamming  Wink

Well if people can do the 0.9 on PD I'm sure they can do the 0.5 with Bit777.
you sure any one have 0.9 from PD for just signature campaign I cannot believe this because its need too much work for this

I meant 0.8, but I guess we'll see soon if anyone makes that. And I don't think it's impossible if you're dedicated.
