741  Economy / Economics / Re: Do i need at least 1 BTC to invest in BTC Jam? on: November 19, 2015, 01:56:02 PM
I don't understand why would people choose to lend online to people they don't know anything about and even that without any collateral. If you lend here on the forum you'd actually get better returns and since there is strict policy of no collateral no loan you'll get better security. Lending money on these lending sites is almost same as throwing it away, you might as well donate it to someone needy or gamble with it and enjoy it atleast imho.

They don't give out collateral, but to get an A+ status, they do have to give out all their personal information...
In case of default, the information goes to an arbitrage company, and after a couple of months, the lender gets the borrower's private info (drivers licence, utility bill, paypal, linkedin, facebook, ebay,...).

So, in case of a small loan, the borrower can lose his reputation amongst his friends, for a big loan, he risks being sued...
Offcourse, the chance of being sued is pretty small, so it's a risk some people are seemingly willing to take.

That all sounds good but do you thing people who take small loans will worry about their online reputation and that is if we believe that they are providing all the legit info, which I doubt they are. And for the bigger loans, even if you find out all the info you need to sue someone, would you take the hassle and funds to sue someone in another country? The costs of doing that might be more than the loaned amount. IMHO it's quite foolish to give loans online without collateral, even with collateral they're not fully safe as the collateral might lose value.
742  Economy / Gambling / Re: JETWIN.ps ___ ✔✔✔ $35 Free Bonus - no deposit required ✔✔✔ ___ on: November 19, 2015, 01:50:46 PM
I signed up and have verified phone number and get a free $10, What are the requirements to make a withdrawal?

Go here: https://sports.jetwin.ps/help/promotions/no-deposit and read the terms and conditions, basically you'd have to make the wagering requirements according to the terms of your given bonus and after you have done that you would need to provide documents for verification before you will be allowed to withdraw anything.

"JETWIN reserves the right to ask any customer to provide sufficient documentation for us to be satisfied in our absolute discretion as to the customer's identity prior to us crediting any bonus to his account."
743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Want to Invest 2 mbtc | Yobit.net on: November 18, 2015, 10:00:34 AM
First of all I think 2 mbtc is not really a good amount to start trading, IMHO you need atleast 0.05-0.1 to make anything worth spending your time for and asking here is not really a good idea, what would happen is you'd get altcoin shills suggesting you to buy their coins. Altcoin investment is really tricky, unless you know what you're doing, you'll just end up losing it all on a stupid investment.
744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin issues on: November 18, 2015, 09:47:04 AM
For me, I cannot buy/sell without my full proof on exchanges in my country(india). They need KYC. Because i don't satisfy/trust with localbitcoins.  Undecided

nowadays exchanges require you to verify yourself in order to start trading. that's why a lot people like btc-e. you can buy and sell and withdraw as many coins as you want without verification.

This is my main concern, the buying/selling process has gotten difficult and I don't blame exchanges, for them to provide a service which involves lot of money coming in and going out it is required of them to ask for KYC documents from their users. But some people are not comfortable giving their IDs to these sites as they fear that website or hackers might abuse their documents. I usually buy bitcoins from a local dealer I met on LBC but there are times when he's not available or he doesn't have coins to sell and that's when it gets difficult. So far, LBC has not asked me for the KYC but I am sensing they might soon.

746  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New bitcoin bounty site (WillPayCoin.com)... Live today. on: November 17, 2015, 11:56:37 AM
I must say the site looks very fresh, I really like the theme and the colors and really loved the video and the way it popped up and explained everything in a very smart way. I was hoping to catch some bounties like twitter stuff but they were already claimed by someone else. Oh well, I'll keep an eye out and hopefully will be able to find some new ones. Great work! and good luck to your with your site.
747  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin buget on: November 17, 2015, 11:51:18 AM
Anything can happen, either you'll make some money or lose some but you will never lose all. It's hard to predict the market movement but if you think the price is going to go up in near future then go ahead and buy it but do remember if it doesn't you will have to keep hold of it until the price of it is over than your bought price and this is why trading is almost like gambling, you're trying to predict the future.
748  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: November 17, 2015, 11:46:47 AM
The status of bitcoin is not clear at the moment globally. Some countries treat it as commodity, some as currency. Some countries ban it. So it is not a global currency yet. But it is becoming one.
It is a global currency at the moment as well because you can use it if you want from any country if you have Internet connection. It's the acceptance that can make difference in the future if the merchants will start to accept it. In that case it can create a demand for it and it can help BTC to become a currency that's accepted worldwide.

That's partly right, sure you can use it from any country if you have the internet but if buying/selling of bitcoins in your country is illegal then there might be consequences if government finds out that you're trading bitcoins and even buy/sell itself becomes difficult and acceptance relies on that, if you're a merchant you are not going to start accepting a currency which is considered illegal by your government.
749  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Ore-mine.org legit or ponzi? on: November 16, 2015, 02:27:07 PM
I think it's just another Ponzi and I would advice anyone against investing anything in it. You have to ask yourself from where are they paying the visitors the interest? It's working as long as others are investing in it but it won't work forever. Also, this is why it in the Investor-based games section. But I think most people investing in it know what it is but they still continue to invest in Ponzis, the proof of that is that section is flourishing with new websites everyday.
750  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bter and the case of no responses on: November 16, 2015, 02:21:24 PM
This was reported by someone last month too https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1215679.0 and a lot of others reported that they had their withdrawal stuck and therefore I guess it is safe to assume that the exchange is a scam and your coins a lost forever. They were apparently hacked in beginning of the year : www.coindesk.com/bter-bitcoin-stolen-cold-wallet-hack/ (although I think it was only a made up story and they did it themselves) and after that they restarted the exchange but I never understood why people started to trust them again.
751  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: i would like your suggestion on: November 16, 2015, 01:49:51 PM

If you think i should add something, tell me Smiley

Content. It looks really empty right now. And a little confusing as to what the website is really about, the name suggests that it's a bitcoin world but I don't see too many things about bitcoin, a few tutorials and all that rapped in one section and a whole lot of other sub headers on different things. I understand that it is a work in progress but you have to ask yourself why would someone visit this site?
752  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is there any Slowness of Bitcoin Transactions? on: November 15, 2015, 12:28:42 PM
There is sometimes some delays on transactions, it may take up to one day

You're bumping an old thread, OP reported this problem on November 4th and it was not the network problem but LBC was having some technical issues (as reported by them on their twitter)  and due to which the transactions were delayed and I assume OP's problem must have been resolved but he forgot to close the thread.

On normal days withdrawals from LBC are usually instant.
753  Economy / Services / Re: Signature Design Contest - BitcoinBlackFriday.info - 0.2 BTC Prize on: November 15, 2015, 12:18:04 PM
Generally you know that once roslinpl has posted a signature design in one of these threads you generally don't stand a chance Wink Amazing designs man, very well done. I love your v2 designs, the use of the symbols are perfect (like in the Bit-X signature).

medUSA hasn't posted his designs yet, if anyone can defeat roslinpl, it's him. Both of them are superb designers and I really admire their work, they create image like signatures, which is very hard to do. Let's wait and see who wins between them, the rest will get the consolation prizes.
754  Economy / Services / Re: Signature Design Contest - BitcoinBlackFriday.info - 0.2 BTC Prize on: November 14, 2015, 10:23:19 AM
The master has shown interest, there goes everyone's chance of winning. Only 0.002 for my efforts.  Embarrassed

Lol, Both the masters are here now.

I don't even try anymore, it takes too much time and toll on the head to make something that's unique and stand out and knowing you won't make it to the top isn't a lot helpful. Cheesy

Good luck to everyone! Maybe you'll be able to defeat the Masters, no need to take names, we know both of them. Wink
755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I doubled my bitcoin in last 3 months. How do you make money(bitcoin) online? on: November 14, 2015, 10:16:46 AM
I double and lose my coins many times in a month, the thing is I always lose when I get greedy and start betting on players/teams which have very less chances of winning, if I play sensibly and stick to the rule of making just 10-20% of the whole investment per day then I get better result but I try to win too much too fast and it doesn't always works out.

I don't think there is a sure way of doubling your money, whether you're trading, opening a new business, gambling, lending, there are always chances that you won't succeed and end up losing it all.
756  Economy / Gambling / Re: casino should donate funds to charity? on: November 14, 2015, 09:59:05 AM
How do you know they don't donate already?

Most people prefer to donate fiat than BTC because they get tax rebates but just because they don't beat their drums and tell everybody that "Hey- I just donated this much money", does not mean that they don't, they don't need to tell anybody whether they donate or not. It's their money, they work hard to earn it (Yeah, running a Casino online/offline is not easy) and it's up to them what they decide to do with it imho.
757  Economy / Economics / Re: sell and buy-help on: November 13, 2015, 10:22:56 AM
you just deposit in neteller.com and they take only 1% and then send it to your bank account or you can have your credit card for 13$ with no month or year fee i think is beter than deposit in a exchange site and then withdaw it to your bank account Wink

Neteller won't let you withdraw the money you deposit through bitcoins, they make this perfectly clear in their FAQs, the money deposited through Bitcoins can only be used to send to other neteller merchants and/or services which accept neteller payments.

The best thing you can do OP imho is look for local traders on LBC, some might even offer cash trades, this is how I found a trader I buy coins from, especially since like me you're only looking to trade small amounts, I also buy $50-$100 from time to time and it's much more convenient and safe to trade face to face.

But even if you don't find a cash trader you'd find many traders with other payment options. Be careful with Paypal and other similar e-wallet services as most of them can be charged back.
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Split BTC on 21 addresses of same wallet on: November 13, 2015, 10:16:26 AM
It also depends on how you created these 21 addresses, for example if you created these online or at a computer which goes online then they are not safe, did you create them using electrum or other similar wallets because then someone could find all the addresses if they find the private key of one of those addresses.

So it is safe to split your coins in different addresses but you have to create these addresses securely and the safest way is doing it on an offline machine with a bitaddress.org source downloaded from github. Also, it is recommenced to have them encrypted, so even if someone gets hold of your paper wallet they won't be able to decrypt the key without the pass-phrase.
759  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: directbet scammed me !! on: November 13, 2015, 09:40:11 AM
Ok. I thought the bet shows the bet initiated time but I was wrong, it shows the event start time. But DirectBet is right and OP is lying.

Quote
You will see the time this transfer was initiated is 9:29 UTC, but the bet was ordered on our website on 9:44 UTC.

There is no way he knew where to send the BTC at 9:29 UTC and the TX was confirmed on the blockchain at 9:42 which is also prior to the bet was initiated at DirectBet.

https://blockchain.info/tx/b1ed6c002e9fc2f3052bb24aae60c3752b994745d168b5ffd34f72994ee2a505

I don't think now that it was an MITM attack, OP was trying to scam very cleverly but he got caught in his own lie.

Also OP, where did you went for 2 months, DB responded the same day you opened this accusation and after that you vanished and came back after 2 months. If someone had lost 2.32+ BTC they wouldn't just forget about it, I would expect them to stay active on the topic but you didn't. Which seems a bit shady to me.
760  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: directbet scammed me !! on: November 12, 2015, 11:42:35 AM
I have been betting on directbet from a long time now and haven't had any problems but just a suggestion directbet, since this is an on chain site, maybe you guys should provide a signed letter of guarantee when a new address is issued for betting, same way as bitmixer.io does, which confirms that the address provided by the site is indeed legit. I still think what happened is the user was a victim of a MITM attack, he was shown a fake page with fake address and he ended up sending btc to a hacker's address.

Also, this is an old thread, I wonder why he stopped responding to it when DB first contacted him, which seems a bit suspicious to me.
