741  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: August 21, 2014, 01:56:42 AM
My lawyer has an International Business & Economic Law degree, so I think he knows a little more than you.

$330 is insulting for my device, not only is the device rare as well as it is limited, and first edition. The device is probably worth more than 3 bitcoins and for sure in a couple of years I could probably get a good price for it.
The refund is usually what you paid, not what you dream that the device is worth.  If you paid in BTC, the amount to be refunded is the (amount of BTC you paid) x (BTC price at the time you paid).

Besides, if the Trezor it is worth more than 330$, then you should pay the difference to satoshilabs.  Grin

That said, a company that sets prices and does its accounting in BTC knows nothing about marketing and even less about accounting.

You are combining like three different threads. I paid 3 BTC and looking for a refund of 3 BTCs. He made an offer on my device and I told him what I thought about his offer. I never said refund me what I think the device is worth. Please read and understand what I write, not that hard.
742  Other / Meta / @theymos Can you add clean urls? on: August 21, 2014, 01:54:37 AM
With the url in the query string, doesn't really translate to google analytics and makes it hard to track what threads your traffic is coming from.
743  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyway to donate to ALS with bitcoins? on: August 21, 2014, 12:22:19 AM
I also want to do the same but I don't know how to do so with bitcoins.

Ok so there is no way but I am reaching out to some the bitcoin charities and seeing how I can make this a reality. I encourage everyone else to do the same.

Static ip of the forum, probably just incase the domain isn't working. There has been a few times the domain has been domain for the forum but not the server.

Well they need to say that on their website and they don't so I expect 3 BTC which is what I paid. Do you have a law degree?

I don't have a law degree, but I was recently reimbursed by my Swiss employer for my expenses abroad. They paid me Swiss Francs with the rate on the day of the expense. I'm pretty sure it is legal and I'm also pretty sure you are getting Czech Crowns if you ever get a refund. Does your lawyer has a Czech law degree?

That said, I'm still willing to pay you 330USD for the device.

I would like to return my trezor and get a refund of my 3 BTCs how can I do this? Obviously they aren't going to fix the mytrezor web wallet and I want my money back.

Edit: Talked to my lawyer about this, and he said there should be no reason that a refund should be an issue. I would also like to use escrow to make sure they don't stiff me.

The guy who paid 10000BTC for the pizza back in the day would like to refund as well.  If that guy would be refunded, he would probably get 10USD back (provided he will return the pizza). BTC is deflation currency and the refunds don't work with those. Your lawyer should learn some basic rules of economy.

You can still get refunded though, because there are people willing to pay the amount of money you paid for this one. BTC was worth 80-120USD during the preorder period. I would pay you 330USD for it myself.

Well they need to say that on their website and they don't so I expect 3 BTC which is what I paid. Do you have a law degree?

Don't kid yourself gweedo, you are an asshole

How am I am that? Because I expect something to work in a reasonable time? Because I paid money for it to work in reasonable time? By the way it still doesn't work so when should I expect it to work, and not be considered that? I can't wait until you other people have an issue with trezor and then you will be in my position. When you are I will sit back and just laugh at you guys.

What problems do you have on your mind? I'm only aware of small inconveniences. Nothing that would prevent me from using it.
If you have the metallic one, I bet many people would be glad to buy it from you. Obviously not for 3 BTC though.

Small inconveniences? I paid 3 BTCs for a device that should work with mytrezor, it doesn't, that is a major inconvenience as my coins are trapped in it.

Then the support was extremely rude, when I was being extremely helpful by even showing them my public master key, which is something I don't really want to do, since that broke my privacy.

The co-founder posted under my trust rating a vulgar word, when I left a negative trust review of my current issue on his.

I really don't want to be around people like that, and I don't want to support them either, so a refund is the only thing that I think will make this extremely unsatisfied customer happy. As I have already warned a number of people, and received many pms that they will not be purchasing a trezor and will be waiting for other implements as they were horrified at what took place for me.

I didn't even think of this, but with the ice bucket challenge raising awareness it would be great to open up ways to donate.

Yep also tomorrow I think I will try to reach out to some of the bitcoin charity organizations like bitcoin100.org and bitgivefoundation.org to see the best way of handling this.
750  Other / Off-topic / Anyway to donate to ALS with bitcoins? on: August 19, 2014, 01:17:27 AM
I really would like to donate some bitcoins, and I would love to do it in the name of Hal Finney. Fortunately I never knew anyone with this horrible disease, but I love bitcoins and Mr. Finney has been in bitcoins since the beginning. As well as being a developer of PGP (which I use everyday). I would love to donate some bitcoins so just point me in the right direction as google has failed me.

Thanks, and I encourage everyone to donate a little bit.
751  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: August 18, 2014, 09:26:34 PM
Is there a way to toggle the "request-password"-flag in the trezor without reinitializing it?
As no-password results in the same wallet as an empy password it would be nice to be able to switch between the settings (without having to generate a new seed).

I second this feature request.

I second the feature request to have them ACTUALLY FIX THEIR WALLET so it ACTUALLY WORKS, but me and another person are the only ones that are having the trouble, no one actually cares about that feature.

Plus I want know why they were blaming bitcoin-lib js when that isn't the problem?
752  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: August 18, 2014, 01:54:04 AM
Trezor is stable

I am not going to answer everything you wrote for two reasons, one I have addressed everything in your post. As well as I will not keep discussing this with someone that agrees being rude is professional, when I paid good money for this to work sorry but if this was free it be different. I am out 3BTCs and I had paid a fine on the transaction I was sending. So right now Trezor is costing me a lot of money to do nothing. Clearly it isn't stable if the web wallet can't handle p2sh transactions, it is a simple part of the bitcoin protocol.

Also trezor web wallet claims to be using bitcoinjs-lib which I have proven handles those p2sh transaction hex just fine... Stick and Slush are just being plan lazy or incompetent to fix the issue.

You do know that BIP44 is an extension of BIP 32 so the custom path will not work...

Armory is not BIP32 compatible, the root key that armory uses is not a BIP32 key, plus mnemonic seeds require some extra hashing as per BIP 39.

You are wrong again. BIP44 is an extension that defines which paths should be used. http://bip32.org/ is enough to generate your addresses if you enter correct path. Let me show you:

You take your account BIP32 key from myTrezor web wallet:

Plug it into bip32.org:

and you can generate all your Trezor adresses. For example the one on the image above is the first address on my first account. I can see it in my transaction history:

Now, what I showed you is how you generate public ones only, but if you used python-trezor you could have generated master seed from your recovery words, enter it into bip32.org and get every single private key of your wallet. Then you could use it with any other wallet you like. For instance Armory as suggested in the post you are answering.

Let me remind you, what you did instead:
1. You contacted support and did not provide them answers to the question they needed.
2. You demanded fix to your problem immediately. It is understandable, because your money are blocked (please note the difference between blocked and lost). But on the other hand, it does not work like this with fixing errors in free web wallet with error being in another free third party library. The fixes do not fall out of the sky on the next day.
3. Then you alienated all the people who can help you by yelling at them and putting negative trust feedback on them.
4. You also rejected all the workarounds thrown at you.

I'm sorry, but there is no help for a guy like you....

But you are using the path, m/0/0 which is not the path for trezor, so I am having a hard time to believe that this is actually worked. Also I just did this with my public key and didn't not get one single address from my trezor.

The correct path is...

m/44'/0'/0'/0/0

Which is currently only compatible with BIP 44 wallets, not BIP 32, they require different hashing.

Also bip32.org doesn't support BIP 39 which is required for the seed. BIP32 source code shows that it just 50,000 rounds of hashing that would be incompatible with BIP 39 seeds. Trust me I know what I talking about. Wink

1) I provided the line number of the error, not once but twice, how is that not showing them what they need?

2) No my funds could be lost, as I tried to broadcast a transaction which is signed and could be broadcasted at any time, that was my concern, more than anything. So can you please read what I write, and understand it.

3) No they were rude to me in the helpdesk, as they are currently understaffed, plus this is like the forth issue with mytrezor, in the less than 3 months I had my trezor. So those things combined, deserve a negative feedback in my books.

Do you support the co-founder of the company doing this...

If this is how business is done and you support that business than, I feel sorry for you both of you. This extremely unprofessional and uncalled for, especially for someone that was an early support of this project. I helped make this a reality by pre-ordering and waiting a very long time for this device.

4) No I did my research, the only options available to me is to go buy a new device just to fix this (android to get wallet32) or use an unstable version of a wallet, that is still in testing that could hurt my bitcoins even more if their is a bug. Both these options are not viable working solutions to the problem of lazy coding.

It's just safer to have then pick one address for withdrawals. So hackers have to work a little harder, I think.

I mean how often are you going to lose access to a wallet? Most people who do bitcoin know what they're doing. I don't really but idk. I don't think the basic stuff is hard.

Depends on a couple of stuff, like with BIP 32 wallets, I would say anytime you import your seed, you consider that wallet compromised and should generate a new seed.

Or maybe following the correct protocol in that when you use an address (meaning you had funds in it, and then spent it) I would suggest you change the address.
756  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: August 17, 2014, 05:15:16 AM
I'm so happy!

I just checked out electrums trezor plugin... it rocks!

I can even name my trezor accounts (labels can even be synced accross clients, encryptedly via central server http://labelectrum.herokuapp.com/)

Electrums coin control features (freeze address, prioritize address, send from address) fully work with the trezor wallet.

Now I have the best of both worlds: a real local light client with a multitude of servers to choose from (or run my own) and coin-control features plus the security of the trezor.

Please don't shill for them about an unstable merger. I have just redownloaded electrum and it DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH THE TREZOR.

GOING ON DAY 5 OF NOT HAVING ACCESS TO MY MONEY ON MY TREZOR. SO YEAH STAY AWAY TREZOR IS A SCAM AS THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL, UNRELIABLE AND PLAIN RUDE.

I WILL BE POSTING THIS EVERYDAY UNTIL I GET MY MONEY OUT OF MY TREZOR.

Dude just sweep your private key into armory

With what? Don't suggest wallet32 I don't have android. They use BIP 32 with BIP 44 so a regular bip 32 wallet can't handle their path structure so currently I can't. If I have wait for electrum to stabilize then I will.

I am being punished because a person used mutli-sig address to send me money.

http://bip32.org

hey neat-o! thanks bitpop.

It needs a custom path, look back a couple pages

You do know that BIP44 is an extension of BIP 32 so the custom path will not work...

The root key is all that's needed. It's how armory behaves. Forgetting passwords happens more often than theft.

Armory is not BIP32 compatible, the root key that armory uses is not a BIP32 key, plus mnemonic seeds require some extra hashing as per BIP 39.

Speaking of which. Say you put your bitcoins on a trezor, wrote down your mnemonic phrase and pin and password, then you accidentally droped your trezor in a volcano. Now you want to get your bitcoins back but you, for what ever reason, do not wish to order a new trezor. Is there a way to get them back without ordering another trezor?

Wait for more wallets to accept BIP 32 with BIP 44 which is my issue right now cause mytrezor isn't working. Basically in the future you will be able to, right now no.
