741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Flip or Trade? What’s The Bigger Gamble? on: September 25, 2023, 09:22:42 PM
Lost in the whirlwind world of day trading? It often feels like a maze with big folks and their flashy tools, leaving us hoping for a stroke of luck. Imagine ditching the tricky charts for a simple, real coin flip, person vs person, with a fair 50/50 chance. No gimmicks, no house edge, just a clear, honest game.

What’s your take? Does day trading seem more of a gamble compared to a straight-up coin flip
They're both a gamble really. It's just that in trading, the factors involved are rather different compared to gambling. Gambling is random, or pseudo-random, or whatever they use, while trading, the basic factors involved would be supply and demand, and of the two, demand is influenced by a multitude of factors. In simple terms, I'd describe trading as a calculated risk, while gambling is just a risk itself. Ofc this doesn't mean that you can't trade like how you gamble, it's just that the difference is with gambling, that's your only real option while in trading, it's only one of the available options (and probably the worst one).
742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are new cryptocurrency projects a viable investment choice? on: September 24, 2023, 10:59:48 PM
~
First time I've hear about these projects. New projects naturally generate more substantial profits compared to say Bitcoin, ETH, or any other old coin out there simply because the coin hasn't been spread out to other people yet. Ofc, this also provides risk that said coin would be monopolized and artificially manipulated by someone or some group.

And it also doesn't help that most "new" projects are actually just recycled of currently existing projects and/or are giving out unrealistic promises that probably wouldn't be realized until a decade or so of full-time investment in terms of developing it. Or with zero progress, as most projects start out. They probably mistook this for crowdfunding instead really.
743  Economy / Gambling / Re: - UGA - a Gamblers Union on: September 24, 2023, 10:28:14 PM
I feel like Casinos are forgetting to treat players with respect in some points, a lot of people might just talk to Live support or send a mail in to comprehend their feelings of loss at a live casino but sometimes people just want to be treated fairly, players have certain interests wich are not always unjustified. But Casinos tend to ignore these kind of problems and just give you Copy & Paste answers.
I think it's just work culture in general, especially in customer support type of things. That kind of work always have some sort of manual to depend on which can make their answers robotic. One of my friends told me that it's usually like that because most people like to get their answers straight to the point. Appealing to their emotions all the time isn't exactly a good thing, especially for support cases where the people just want their answer immediately. If you also consider how old people are, well, old and how young people have shorter attention spans, a matter you could've probably told in a single sentence but instead elongated to 3,4 sentences could be a matter that could cause them dissatisfaction. Casinos answering questions incorrectly or taking a long ass time is a whole nother matter though.

I am planning to make a Website, Socials and a lot more, people who arent getting heard will get heard, the different stories will get heard and hopefully a lot of cases will be solved by presenting this to the brighter audience.
Props to you then. Sadly I don't think this is going to tackle the main problem of casinos being slow in terms of answering customer queries or stuff like that. It's just going to reveal that some casinos have issues but to be fair, all casinos have small issues, especially with regard to cs. You never see them tackling it though, even with review sites indicating it as such.
744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: September 24, 2023, 08:47:15 PM
In my opinion making cash from gambling is not a good option and the statistical probability that you will win every game at every casino is very low. I think winning or losing every game is completely in your head, so your individual tricks are not there. However, we all have some kind of luck so we should strive for what is possible for us.
It naturally isn't. Cash is involved in gambling simply to add a thrill to a really simple game. Let's be real here after all, the majority of the people here would not enjoy two dice going up and down showing it's results and telling you that you won/lost every time without anything involved. Well, you can consider it like an entrance fee of sorts for a tournament that scales up/down depending on the amount you put in.

Generally you lose money in the long run due to house edge so it isn't really fun to consider money in the long run, but I guess the thrill of receiving a big amount immediately, regardless of the amount spent is the actual fun part instead.
745  Economy / Economics / Re: 0-Dated Options Trading vs. Gambling: Which Packs More Thrill? on: September 24, 2023, 10:57:47 AM
~
It's like you're comparing writing an explanation of how to play a game vs how you should play a game. It's a no-brainer which one is much more entertaining in thrilling. Though I guess a minority would exist here, I reckon the majority would answer that gambling is naturally the more thrilling part. You're relying on literally nothing after all, just pure luck. Include to that the possibly staggering amount of money you'd bet and win/lose after that single click. I also wouldn't really consider trading as a form of entertainment. I guess for you it is, but for the vast majority I reckon it's not and it shouldn't be.
746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Trust RNGs (Random Number Generators) in Casinos? on: September 24, 2023, 06:22:45 AM

After going through a couple of threads on the Gambling Discussion topic I noticed how divided the views are on trusting the RNG and the fairness of most casinos in general. So I wanted to ask everyone - Do you trust the RNGs and why?
Only on well-known casinos/providers. I don't really know how the RNG logic works behind the scenes, I know how to calculate RNG but you never really know if the games you play use said RNG methods, and you'd never really find out since, well, that's their backend stuff. While I do know some games have that RNG checker thing? idrk how it works nor imo is it a guaranteed insurance that the game uses the same logic.

And with that said, I just decided to trust well-known casinos/providers instead. They're most used by players and I reckon a few of those do some checks on their own.
747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling game is not good and everyone should stay away from it on: September 23, 2023, 11:58:14 PM
Everyone stay away from gambling game then you all will be happy and happy Gambling game is very bad which will harm your family a lot and will also harm your life like my father gambling ruined my father's life and also my future is dark now I am now  I came back to this bitcoin to find light in my life in this darkness you all help me shine.
Uhm one, gambling is bad if you're dumb, like your father (no offense, that's just how it goes you make dumb decisions you get dumb results), and two, I wouldn't rely on Bitcoin to fix a ruined life, if you have a stable one then sure go ahead, if not then just make it stable first. Probably fix your and your father's gambling addiction, and get some help from close associates if needed (and not from others really, it's a matter that concerns money after all). And to add, you can gamble, but don't be dumb about it, that's the difference between you and most average gamblers who never had a problem with it.
748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Warning] Don't share your casino account! on: September 23, 2023, 11:57:31 AM
~
Why would they need your account in the first place? I don't think they'd get any advantage except for the reputation of your account. I don't think you get that much benefits in comparison to just participating on your own, especially in this case of match-fixing. Well, regardless of that I don't think I'd ever allow someone to bet using my account, or even my name for that matter. I just don't see any benefit in doing so in the first place, for me at least. If it was with regards to money I'd rather just do my day-to-day job.
749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some good, trusty casinos that support crypto as payment? on: September 23, 2023, 12:40:33 AM
I recently got into online gambling and would like to ask for some recommendations of trusty crypto casinos (and perhaps those to avoid Smiley ).

I think there was only ever one casino you should actually avoid (based on this forum that is). 1xbit is absolutely notorious for its reputation and afaik, it's still running. So just avoid that and I reckon you'd be fine with most recommendations in this place. First rep already gave out btcgosu so you should be good to go, that site has a lot of good and reputable casinos already. If you're still curious about the casino themselves, either visit the site or the campaign page they have in this forum (They usually have one, especially those you see with signatures). Should give you a general idea of the casino imo.
750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gives the poor an Opportunity. on: September 22, 2023, 11:12:33 PM
Every other investment I know requires you to have a lot of money before you can make a reasonable profit.
The most popular forms of investment are stock trading and real estate and it's quite expensive to go into.
For you to buy these shares and make a good profit you have to have thousands to tens of thousands of dollars.
Not to mention that you need to have a deeper understanding before you can stand a chance to make it in stock trading.
Not really no. These limits can be seen in some form even in crypto or just regular stock trading. It's just that crypto in general has a greater volatility than stocks, so more opportunities even if you have a lower amount of money invested. Compared to stocks, which are volatile as well, yes, but less than crypto itself. Besides, the same thing about "knowledge" can be said about crypto.

I mean, Bitcoin is a top choice, yes, only because it's well known, it's shown what it can be, and the forum is literally about Bitcoin. You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't at least have some basic knowledge of Bitcoin. If you were, however, to go to a forum of say real estate owners (if that does exist), given enough time I reckon you'd be able to build up enough knowledge and eye about land to know which is a worthwhile investment or not. While I've never tried fractural shares, the same ideology probably holds the same (just with a bit more restrictions I suppose).

Though I guess I do agree with crypto being reasonably easier to enter than stock. I tried both when I was a college student and boy was stocks confusing as hell.
751  Economy / Economics / Re: You can't meet all your needs/desires at once, even if you spend all your salary on: September 21, 2023, 10:57:05 PM
First I would say "human needs are insatiable." Upon attending to some current needs, definitely others will arise. So, even if you spend all your earnings trying to solve every of your needs, that doesn't mean that other needs might not arise.
Well, that's why you differentiate between a need and a desire imo. A need is a priority, a desire is something you just grab when the chance is there, in most cases, you can't though. I tend to prioritize my needs, regardless of what level of importance they have, rather than my desires. It's just that it can hit you in the knee in a bad way if you tend to push it down the list of importance most of the time.

I myself used to have a case where I only spent all my finances on my needs, but had zero for my desires. I was lucky that it didn't encompass everything I wanted, since I could draw on what I already had in the past year (I had a small drawing tablet I've used since forever), and I was pretty content with that. Sure, an improvement would be nice, but that's it, it's only going to be nice, it's not going to change much of me.

But well, having you spend money based on your desire every now and then can imo help subside that feeling of boredom. Or a repeat of every day. Just like how you need to have fun every once in a while
752  Economy / Economics / Re: Early Retirement [Pros and Cons] on: September 21, 2023, 10:30:24 PM
as long as you can still make money, don't even think about retiring early, I know early retirement is everyone's dream but who knows what will happen next, you have to maintain your grades and productivity so that you stay healthy and respected by people.
Not really. If I had a pretty substantial amount, plus some passive money-making assets, then an early retirement wouldn't really be a bad thing. I reckon those who miss a challenge or something along those lines are those who bury themselves in their work, not having anything else to do. It's hard to relate a hobby to your work as well so I can understand how it goes, but really, they should find something else to bury their time with since just looking at the sky is not an activity I'd want for an early retirement, that would probably be for a late retirement one.

753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Secure Your Legacy, Educate Your Loved Ones on: September 21, 2023, 10:25:38 PM
Educate your kids, educate your spouse. Though they may not understand it at first but with time, they would.
The best way to do this is to honestly let them hold coins themselves. Or let them set up a wallet. Experience is the best teacher, after all, just blabbering on and on about what they should do would probably not get anything anywhere. Might even be best if you let them use whatever method you use you are going to set up for when you die, albeit do it in a short term instead e.g. a week if it was using some tech, just to let them familiarize themselves.

If you aren't going to do so, then I don't think there's any point in setting up a plan to let them get the coins after your death. They'd probably have no idea how to do so in the first place, or even get scammed trying to get help in accessing it.
754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A matter of family conflict regarding Bitcoin. on: September 20, 2023, 11:06:38 PM
Bitcoin is getting more and more popular, and it is labeled with many different stories. I can see many people blaming Bitcoin as the cause of all the problems, but clearly the main problem is people causing them related to Bitcoin.
Anyone with a bit of understanding could see that this situation would've inevitably happened (maybe a little less worse) regardless of Bitcoin investment or not really. You just don't "shoot" your wife because you were "agitated".
Quote
He regularly visited his wife’s house out of fear that she might cheat on him. On the day of the incident, he entered his wife’s house hoping to reconcile but was met with resistance, leading to the aforementioned incident.
Just the fact that he has no confidence in himself (it's what I can assume from his actions) is more than enough that the relationship had a lot more problems than just that investment. The man might have an unstable mind or something really. It's your usual media manipulation tactics of bringing notice to something completely irrelevant in a topic lmao. I guess including Bitcoin had more impact than saying the man had an "unstable mentality".
755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the drive that makes women go into gambling? on: September 20, 2023, 10:21:41 PM
I think for many women some of the few reasons they go into gambling, is that gambling provides them with the opportunity to be sociable and enjoy time with friends and also use it to escape boredom loneliness or even stress, excitement is also part of the reasons why women goes into gambling the sense of winning creates an additional anticipation of something bigger having the spotlight on you as a winner can make you feel good even for a brief moment. This has eventually turn into frequent trips or long session in gambling.
Why are we labeling gambling as something like makeup or something? There's only one reason why people would be interested in gambling in the first place, it's money. Even people who enjoy it for the thrill (such as me) originally started gambling because of the interest we had for money. Ofc I naturally devolved into just simply enjoying it but that's for the later part.

Anyhow, a LOT of things can be done to escape boredom or stress, or even experience enjoyment, it's not just gambling. I highly doubt it's even on the recommended list in the first place. While I don't disagree that it can be a reason, it can probably be said as the same for any other activity as well.
756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i have multiple accounts at the same casino? on: September 20, 2023, 09:44:23 PM
The basic answer is it depends on the ToS, so please for the love of god if you think you're doing something out of the norm (using VPN, duplicate accounts, playing from outside their local country), then read it. It's helpful and also avoids nonsensical ideas like you got targeted because you deposited some money and instantly got banned.

Additionally, you can still technically go around the idea of KYC restricting you from multi-accounting by using another identity, say your siblings or something. I think casinos have a different way of determining whether a user is multi-accounting or not. In general, just don't do it. I don't see any reason why to do so in the first place.
757  Economy / Economics / Re: X (formerly Twitter) may be telling people like me to exit the platform on: September 19, 2023, 10:57:04 PM
~
So he basically said, "We can't handle the bots cause I kicked out my entire software engineer team, so here, you guys need to pay instead"? While I do know that he probably wouldn't charge everyone, it's still a hit to most people considering that they're inviting restrictions to a platform that's supposedly for letting people have the latest news and whatnot towards their followers group. I mean he already added that premium-based bs that they have right now, I reckon that he should've just designed it a lot better than adding more instead. Kind of disappointing since I imagine this kind of update would destroy a lot of free-lancers visibility, since I think that's one of the major things Elon would hit when considering subscriptions.
758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Creating altcoin for business financing on: September 19, 2023, 10:34:18 PM
~
Why not just look for investors instead? From what I can see what you're planning to do is to use the funds from that altcoin to launch that starch factory from wherever. In that case you can totally skip the altcoin development plan and go straight ahead with building it up instead. Altcoins can be a decent project startup, but only if you know what you're doing. In this context, I don't think said altcoin would have any use case, at all, and that would inevitably make the project dead imo. If you can create one, and one that's innovative and useful enough, then you can try creating an altcoin first and then use your original plan, but otherwise, I don't think it's going to bear any fruit. What you're basically asking here after all is something similar to how gofundme (or any crowdfunding exercise) works from what I can see.
759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: September 19, 2023, 09:47:51 PM
Yes, Gambling addiction has strained a lot of relationships through financial instabilities emotional turmoil, social isolation, and family problems. Gambling which was meant to be a popular kind of entertainment for many and was designed to provide a temporary escape from everyday life and also help one to be more observant mentally task your brain and it is also good for your mental brain. When it becomes an addiction it causes financial strain the strain can manifest in various ways including the loss of shared savings, debt accumulation, and financial secrecy which may lead to strained communication between partners. This communication breakdown can prevent couples, friends, and associates from working together.
It's technically addiction and not gambling in general. Man, people should really learn to differentiate between the two since gambling is almost always brought out together with addiction due to the bias the world has. Addiction often leads to people making decisions not really influenced by their brains but by their wants. You can see how this goes with kids. They often get in trouble or hurt themselves, but since there's an adult supervision around it's easily remedied, but when you yourself is an adult? There's nothing to help you fix it. At least immediately. Therapy is an option but it's an option, something you willingly take, and we all know how addicts are most of the time.

Funny as well since you answered your own question. If you want examples of it there are a lot of threads in this section iirc. Some might not exactly be what you want but eh, worth reading the first few pages at least.

760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you manage your money on gambling sites. on: September 18, 2023, 10:31:14 PM
I've been following a few gambling channels on Twitter and Telegram, and whenever they share a screenshot of a bet slip or winning ticket, they occasionally also include the balance of their wallet. I've seen this happen several times, which made me wonder why they don't choose to withdraw their winnings instead of storing them in their gambling site wallet. Why do they leave that much in there, or is it simply for show off? A gambling expert should know better than to save their money on casino websites.

I always withdraw all my winnings and only deposit the right amount i want to use to gamble whenever i want to play a game. I’d like to know everyone’s opinion on which way is better and which one do you practice in managing your funds on gambling sites.
I deposit a set amount, and I play till that goes to zero (or if I'm bored already). If there's leftover money, then I deduct that from my regular deposit amount and then play with it. I usually play small most of the time so even a low bankroll can net me quite a few games though I still do one of those YOLO moments on crash just because. It's kind of scary in the first place to leave money in casinos, just like how you will in exchanges since afaik they don't hold responsibility for it or something? I'd much rather withdraw anything big if i do get one than hold it so that I can share it for clout.
