761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: In your opinion is this the end for Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency? on: August 20, 2022, 02:14:04 AM
So we have seen Cryptocurrency hit with many huge scams, come under increased scrutiny and regulation, as well as being the subject of environmental concerns.
-snip-
Cryptocurrencies have been hit with "many huge scams" since the beginning. I guess you forgot about all those ICO scams. At least more scrutiny and regulations means more business will be able to accept crypto currencies more easily with clear laws (though bad for decentralization, but as long as you don't interact with fiat or third party financial institutions, you should be fine).

As of late, Bitcoin is trading at the lowest levels I've seen it trade in quite some time.
-snip-
The question is, due to any of these issues, or a combination of them, are we finally going to see the end of Bitcoin and
Cryptocurrency or is it still a safe haven?
It is not the lowest level. Bear market isn't a new thing. Just google how many times people said it is the end of bitcoin and you will know if it is or not.
762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Influence of "Paid" Streamers on Online gambling..... on: August 20, 2022, 12:39:18 AM
This has been a contentious issue and a common discussion under online gambling for a long time... and I want us to talk about this too.

How does the "Paid" Streamers ..influence other gamblers experience? So, the common assumption is that "Paid" streamers basically have limitless funds that are paid by the casinos. They can play, until the Slot pays them, where other people play until their money runs out. (This is a misconception obviously, because the outcome of each bet is determined by it's seed and the Slots variance and RTP)

People are also saying that "Paid" streamers are basically "sweeping" all money that are being played by others on those specific slots. (You often hear people saying... "I cannot play XXX Slot now, because streamer YYY won big on that Slot) - If I am correct... all funds that are played in a casino goes into one "Pot" .....and wins are paid out of that... or in the case of a Jackpot system.. into a "Pot" at the 3rd party service provider. (Is this true or false...any experts out there that can clear this up?)

Just to make something clear .... not all Streamers of gambling content are "Paid" streamers or affiliates of casinos.... some use their own money. (Example : Syztmz)

Can a "Paid" streamer or an expert from a casino... please help with some factual inputs, so that we can clear up any misconceptions?

On the flip side of the coin..... Some people believe that "Paid" streamers are actually "feeding" or "funding" other people's large wins. They can only "sweep" other peoples funds, when they win.... if someone else win before them... the opposite happens... right?

Let's discuss.... and enjoy this thread please.  Wink
Like you said, they are "Paid" streamers. They get paid for streaming. The funds they use for gambling belongs to the casino. As far as I know, if they win anything, they aren't allowed to withdraw those funds and has to return it to the casinos. Hence when they place bets, they are literally risking nothing hence they place bets without feeling pressured. Seeing those streamers gambling carefree (and without any worries) and their excitement/enthusiasm is what makes other want to gamble.

Actually only Drake and Eddie are the only streamer that I know that doing paid advertisement and the rest of the streamers that I’m watching is just streaming for views and content on youtube. Paid or not, I think it’s still the same because they are both showcasing playing gambling. They also just have a limited balance balance for gambling so it’s still feel the same on watching both.

The only thing I like the most on paid streamers are there giveaways. They are giving huge amount on the winners since it’s sponsored compared on DIY streamer that just using there own money.
I bet most of the streamers do get paid and they say they play with their own funds so others feel like they are experiencing someone gamble the real way (with their own money and risks).
763  Other / Off-topic / Re: How Do You Think About UFO Catcher? on: August 19, 2022, 05:19:17 AM
A few weeks ago, I took my nephew shopping at one of the big supermarkets in my city. While waiting for the cashier to count my groceries, my nephew whined about playing a game in one of the corners of the supermarket.

My wife was confused because my nephew kept pointing to one of those games. And after exchanging some money for coins, my nephew went straight to the doll claw machine, the UFO Catcher. In one go, my nephew could catch one doll and we were confused and asked each other, how did she catch the doll?

An illustration of a doll claw machine or UFO Catcher is below.
-snip-
This kind of game can indirectly teach children about gambling because they buy coins with a certain amount of money to play in certain games. If they can't win, they lose the coins and have to use another coin if they want to play.

In some countries, such games are prohibited because games can be equal to gambling, leading to addiction in children.

What's your thought? Have you ever played this kind of game?
I am confused why you and your wife were confused... Confused about what? Confused because the kids wanted to kid stuffs?

And I wouldn't call those claw machines a form of gambling. I wouldn't worry of them becoming a gambling addict because they played one round of those claw machines. I bet none of the kids would be interested to play again after they managed to win something once. If you call this gambling, then all games at the arcade can be considered as gambling. After all you win tokens playing games which you can later redeem for prizes.
764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins for this week on: August 19, 2022, 05:15:02 AM
LTC, LINK, BNB can surge high this week. Am I taking the correct names? Your thoughts guys?
What makes you think those three coins are going to "surge" high? Any particular reason? Or are you only shilling for these coins since you have invested in those coins. If that is the case, just letting you know, it won't help much and make you look more like a fool.

Why not choose ETH and Shib? Both have good reasons to go up this week. Eth for the upcoming merge and Shib for the it's upcoming layer 2 chain and their own game.
765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interesting facts about Bitcoin on: August 19, 2022, 04:57:26 AM

6. El Salvador is the first country to adopt Bitcoin as a legal tender

7. As of 2022, two countries have Bitcoin as legal tender

9. Didn't India and Nigeria ban bitcoin too?

10. And more and more will be lost everyday.

15. Keep your bitcoins in your own wallet and never in an exchange. Not sure why you are suggesting others to store their coin in an exchange.

766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Inu pumping , why? Hold or Sell? on: August 19, 2022, 04:49:55 AM
I have 20 million Shiba Inu that I bought a few months ago and forgot about , it is one of the smaller positions in my portfolio.

Just wondering why it is pumping and realistically what this can reach in 2 or 3 years?

Not sure if I should sell all and re invest in one of my larger positions or if I should just hold the 20 million I have and see what price it reaches in a few years?
Probably because of the new shiba game that is about to be released soon. The beta version is currently available to play/test in Vietnam (or some Asian country I forgot) and then SHIB is almost about to launch Shibarium, their layer 2 solution that will make transactions faster and cheaper. People are expecting more tokens to be burned, so they all are accumulating right now. Buying the rumor and will sell the news soon.
767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT and what to buy now? on: August 19, 2022, 04:31:57 AM
hello everyone, I'm new to this site, but I have a strange feeling that bitcoin will not grow more than $ 26,000 anymore, I want to know your opinion, and where is it better to invest your bitcoins now? I heard that the NFT market is going up very well now, which NFT is better to invest in? or is it better to leave bitcoin, everyone who will help, and I will earn on this, I will throw in $ 10
my telegram https://t.me/muv_neo
You really think bitcoin won't go above $26,000? Look at the all time high price and you will see that it has already went above $60,000 USD. If bitcoin won't go above the price you mentioned, other coins also won't rise up much because I doubt any coin would be able to dethrone bitcoin. NFT's are totally a different thing. I wouldn't say it is a better investment option. You will need to have buyers wanting to buy your NFT to make profits.

I wouldn't join  a random group link. Highly likely you are probably trying to lure some newbies (with $10 bait) into scamming them.
768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be open to any possibility on: August 18, 2022, 06:17:13 AM
Imagine me creating a topic in 2017 asking if doge coin can hit 0.70$ some day the answer would have been NO from almost everyone, what I have learnt from crypto projects is no matter how stupid a coin looks and you need to get out because its not doing fine always leave a bit behind, I sold all my doge coin 120k before 2021 bull market and left only 1067 Doge coin in my wallet, learn from my mistake.
Of course it would have been no. Who knew Elon would one day show support for dogecoin. This was a rare thing. Look at how many meme coins there are in the market. Look at how many "stupid coins" (the ones you are talking about) there were back in 2017. How many of them survived? Literally none! So lets say you invest a little on all of those shitcoins and only one of them made it while the rest died, you will still make nothing since your profits cancel outs with all those loses you made.
769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you stop gamble if your girl friend insists ? on: August 18, 2022, 06:11:10 AM
If it is something that you enjoy and you like doing without harming yourself, then why would you have to stop gambling? I am sure you wouldn't like it if your girlfriend stops you from something you like doing, right? If it was because she was concerned that you might get addicted to it, then yeah, it is a different story. She probably is trying to stop you from making things go worse. And if it is because your girlfriend doesn't like gambling, then yeah, it is up to you if you want to stop doing something that your girlfriend doesn't like.
770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc crime on: August 18, 2022, 05:43:00 AM
So you are saying bitcoin is evil because they used bitcoin to launder money and commit crime and you want everyone to stop using bitcoin? Why don't you stop using fiat currency because most of the laundering is done through fiat currency. At least they got caught using crypto currencies. I bet it would have been even harder for them to trace the criminals if they used the standard (fiat) currency to launder and commit crimes.
771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want to be a hero? (maybe not) on: August 18, 2022, 05:02:38 AM
A man in Lebanon was hailed a hero after he takes a bank a hostage. And the reason why he did that? it's because he can't withdraw his money from bank. He had a family emergency, so obviously, he needed that money for hospital bills and all his saving is in that bank. And the hostage ended after the negotiators were able to produce $35,000 (£29,000) of his savings upfront.

Quote
The suspect's brother told journalists: "My brother has $210,000 in the bank and wants to get just $5,500 to pay hospital bills."

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-62514631

I don't know if I can good to that length to hostage the bank or something. But one thing is for sure, if people could just learn how to put their money on bitcoin or crypto, in which they have total control, maybe in times of need, you can just transfer some and convert it to fiat anytime you want. You don't need to be a hero.

In other news,  Video Shows Tanks Protecting Crisis-Hit Banks In China, Internet Says "History Repeats Itself".
He chose to deposit his money in bank and I guess he never knew that the bank "could withhold or deny his money" for any reason. But still, I don't think this is how he should have take his money. I know it was an emergency and he needed the money to pay the hospital bills, but that doesn't mean he did the right by choosing violence and taking someone hostage. Things could have escalated and things might have gone worse. And why did the employers in the bank had to suffer (taken hostage)? They are just doing their job.
772  Economy / Economics / Re: Most people more and more people depend from this on: August 18, 2022, 02:51:31 AM
You mean you wake up everyday and think if the bitcoin is going to rise up or down? This what I am guessing when you say long or short, yeah?

Well if you are going to invest and hold for long term, then you shouldn't be worried about it. If you see the price go down when you wake up, and you want to maximize your profit, then invest during the dip if you have extra money lying around. If you see the price go up and you reached your profit goal, then sell. The price going up and down doesn't matter as long as you are planning to hold long term.
773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How profitable Is investing in a crypto casino or sportbook? on: August 18, 2022, 12:29:18 AM
I guess it is always profitable to invest in crypto casinos or sportbook because in the long run, the casinos are the one that always makes the profit. As long as you are investing some good amount and are prepared to keep the investment for long term, you will end up with some nice profits.
All the games in crypto casinos has an house edge (casino advantage) and based on that you can predict how much profit you will be making in the long run. If it is a casino with good reputation that allows people to invest, then I would say go ahead and invest. The risks are low.
774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What your ideas about bitcoin adoption in the future? on: August 16, 2022, 05:27:09 AM
I doubt they are going to use bitcoin in current form as a form of payment to make day to day transaction. If it becomes mainstream, network usage will increase, transaction fees will skyrocket, and confirmation time will be unbearably long. So unless some kind of solution is found (like lightning network) that can be used easily, everyone will stick to using other altcoins that will have lower fees and faster confirmation time. Or maybe people might end up using centralized wallets (sadly) like coinbase and binance to pay instantly.
775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pi Coin | A decentralized economy or another form of MLM scheme? on: August 16, 2022, 05:23:57 AM
An obvious another form of MLM scheme. You are making it sound like the "scam" coins has become some sort of main stream currency in that country you have mentioned. I bet those few shops/online stores that are accepting PI is because they are also a  part of this MLM scheme.
There is a huge P2P transaction is going on all over the internet for pi because of its demands. It seems totally hype to me but what is going on right now tells me one thing and that is Pi is not a scam.
Lol, what? I doubt there is a "huge" demand for PI coin. You are just shilling for another shitcoin. They make money by selling those KYC data in the black market. I am pretty much sure about that.
776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some projects which can grow bigger in the next few years on: August 13, 2022, 03:09:06 PM
Do you really think people know which project is going to go x10-x100 within next few years? If that would be possible, everyone would be buying that coin already. In fact no one would share such information (unless they willingly doing it to "shill" for the coin) with you so that things don't get jeopardized.

It is not easy to find such projects. Depends on your luck. If you are willing to hold long term, then go for the top crypto currencies and hold them. Sit back, relax and take your profits when you are ready.
777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Has Shiba Inu a bright future? on: August 13, 2022, 07:58:08 AM
It is just another meme coin whose "future" depends on the trend and hype. Usually most meme coins die. Only few (currently only 2 in the top 50 list) survives due to huge and constant support from the community. All of them "believes" that SHIB/DOGE will survive and give them good returns in the long run, hence keeping the project itself alive.

SHIB is being trying to move away from meme coin and make itself more like a main stream currency. As far as I know they are currently forming partnership with various companies and brands to accept SHIB. They are also developing their own layer 2 solution that will make the cost of transaction super cheap. As far as I know they are also creating their own "metaverse". Based on this, you decide if they have bright future or not.
778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Merge date confirmed, any price action predictions after merge? on: August 13, 2022, 07:37:01 AM
Earlier this week, Ethereum successfully completed its final testnet merge known as Goerli, which is the last step towards the long awaited merge and eth 2.0

With all the supposed benefits this brings, what do you guys think Eth’s price action will do taking into account overall market  conditions?

This was the news article that got me thinking…

https://twitter.com/thetokenist/status/1558093698017239043?s=21&t=yQzn7FEi78pOJ9x0MxQAGw

https://tokenist.com/ethereum-options-open-interest-reach-new-ath-as-merge-date-confirmed/
I will tell you what will happen. Look at the price now. It has been going up very fast and much more than that of bitcoin. It is because people are actually buying the rumor. Everyone is hoping and knows that others are also going to buy the rumor, hence they all are stocking up causing the price to go up. Once the merge take place and sell the news! Those who filled their bags earlier will want to take the profit and hence sell most of the Ethereum they have been holding causing the price to go down and go then through a correction stage!
779  Economy / Speculation / Re: I do believe that Bitcoin will be more scarce than gold on: August 13, 2022, 07:33:22 AM
It is very obvious that bitcoin is more scarce than gold. There are still tons and tons of undiscovered golds which are yet to be mined, but bitcoin has only 21 million supply and I am pretty much sure there are lots of lost bitcoins that can never be recovered. But I don't think we should be comparing bitcoin and gold. I mean bitcoin might be super scarce, but if no one uses bitcoin, then what's the use of it being scarce? People will still be using gold and it will be more valuable than bitcoin.
780  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Finally Helped My Friend Invest $50000 Into BITCOIN for Retirement. on: August 13, 2022, 07:10:24 AM
Excellent that you convinced your friend to invest in bitcoin, but have you also told him about all the risks involved with crypto currencies and that the price might go down anytime? Have you told him that the currencies are very volatile? I expect that you also helped to understand how to keep his wallets safe and secure and told him make backups of his wallets. I hope the $50,000 he invested is money that he doesn't want and can afford to lose.

-snip-
2• I started sending him a link to Bitcoin YouTube videos to watch as he started asking me some questions which indicates he's beginning to have some interest , As they said a "prophet is not of worthy except in his home town". It's better he watches from other sources than from the only one I have been teaching him.

3• So lastly the one that spark his interest up was that recently I started by giving him list of billionaires who has invested in Bitcoin like Michael Saylor, Elon musk and other institutional investors like the world largest hedge fund manager Blackrock coming into the space.

-snip-

2. Make sure you sent him videos from credible sources.

3. I hope he isn't investing "because rich people invested".
