Anyone already suggested http://poloniex.com to list Potcoin? they're already listing many alt coins, and the site has been fast/responsive so far. Re freshmarket : I'm really sorry to say this, but it seems that our security system wasn't enough.
Just now i received a message from someone that he has hacked our exchange, and if we want to stop this, we have to pay 10 BTC. Obviously, we are not going to pay our users' money, and we temporarily closed the exchange. We have made an secutity audit to see what's missing, and found ~1200 LTC stolen (nearly 40% of all LTC), nearly ~50% of LEAFcoins, and ~20% NYANcoins. All other currencies remained nearly unchanged.
Just now we deciding what refund can we make (dev team has nearly 200 LTC on their own, and i can give up some too). We will make a message after we have an agreement. We will 100% refund all other (not-leaf, nyan or LTC) currencies, and try to refund as much ltc as we can.
As i see, it was sql-injection, but it doesn't helped him much - all passwords are stored as hashed ones. So he just brute-forced all low-security passwords to steal their money. So if you haven't got email auth - it is possible that your account was just jacked.
I also have possible ideas about openex malware in source code, but without proofs i can't do anything. had 650POT in there.. hopefully you guys didnt have much either... going to try get that back :/ Sorry to hear that dave! I have been off the thread for a while but still have been very active with networking with new dispensary owners in MA to use cryptocurrency integrated within their POS systems. 20 dispensaries just got the final approval to open in this state and many will be opened within 6 months. Still trying to find ways to best get POTCOIN within the dispensaries. One of the many ways is to introduce this as a rewards based system that the shop owners give out to the customers as a donation. The dispensaries would hold onto a large amount that they acquire from a mix of donations and purchasing from the open market.
This coin has a lot of potential, big whales do not waste power costs on mining a coin they think will have no value in the near future.. I expect this coin to be dumped hard once it hits an exchange like Cryptsy. However, supply and demand curve will quickly shift when the cannabis industry wants to use a new cheap cryptocurrency within their business model. Hold on for a good ride, or sell off to soon and hope you have a chance to buy back.

Bitember gave me 0 fees indefinitely so its sucks to see em go! Any official word? Pot is fantastic. But I think you have to be stoned to think this coin is going to be a success.
I think its the opposite! I think the coin has the potential to be really successful .. There are some adoption hurdles but nothing time cant fix. If you want to pass somekind of judgement can you wait until the official launch date?.. By then im sure we will have a fud section.. Guys - we don't have 91%. When we moved rebuilt/moved the server after the DDOS it was incorrectly reporting hashrates. It has since corrected itself. We are by far not the biggest Potcoin pool. Thanks for chiming in!! Appreciate it! Zedicus |

Yep we are being DDoS'ed at the moment. We have been sitting stable at around 10% of the network hashrate since a couple of days after launch. Not sure why some douchebag wants to target a smaller pool. Anyway we are working with our hosting provider to get back up and running. In the meantime everyone's coins are safe. I would encourage everyone to use one of the smaller pools as a backup until we are back up and running. Their servers are never running properly, people constantly have deposits and orders stuck, plus there was even the bug which allowed you to withdraw into negative funds. I have a lot more faith in BTC-e which actually operates with a little integrity. Cryptsy adds any and every coin because they desperate to soak up everything they can while their scam still runs. Has anyone even been to craptsy before? I mean I've actually been to Vault of Satoshi and they have a huge operation compared to them and have such less volume. I'm all for going to bigger exchanges but crypsty is not any place I would trust with my Potcoin. Cryptsy has there share of problems.. but i bet they are still here in 1 year from now... You dont see anyone saying go vote at the vault of satoshi or btc-e for POT do you? Not to say they arent ok exchanges, especially btc-e, ive had a good experience there. My thoughts are that people who run exchanges may hesitant to accept a new coin that is related to something illegal in certain states or countries..
cryptsy is based in the united states.
So have you even talked to BigVern about listing it? That's the first step. Yes, cryptsy is based in the US... the one country right now that is experiencing a BOOM in marijuana legalization and industry growth. Companies like GrowLife (stock: PHOT) shot up in price on January 1st, mostly due to the legalization of recreational use in Colorado and Washington. There's no reason to not approach BigVern with the proposal to list POT. He's a businessman, he'll see the potential for growth. After all, you're not promoting black-market sales and illegal transactions using this currency(I'm looking at you Dopecoin), you're promoting a coin that can be used by an industry that is experiencing it's golden age right now. -Fuse Correct me if im wrong .. Cryptsy is in Florida? I can think of a really good reason why POT is not "on" yet! Hopefully Floridians go can vote.. |
