DONT use Virwox unless you need mega quick btc for some reasons. Their fees are simply a scam.
I don't see why would you say that they are a scam, sure they have high fees but they would most likely have to deal with the risk of chargebacks with no ID verification.
7802  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to move bitcoin balance from a wallet to another wallet on: February 07, 2015, 03:48:06 AM

No one is going to hack your account. Currently, the network is secure and cannot be cracked. If it could be, I would not invest another minute. Once bitcoin is broken, its broken.

I'm going to suggest you make a wallet on your system. Don't keep online wallets. Keeping online wallets is essentially giving a stranger your money to hold with no insurance. They could lose the money, get "hacked" or just drop their service. Download electrum, a light and local wallet. You should have a paper storage system setup as your savings account and a bunch of smaller wallets for quick transfers and faucets etc.

That is what I thought too, I don't trust Coinbase a whole lot, but I need to transfer Bitcoins to USD, and it seemed Coinbase is the only site that makes this process easier.

Unless someone here can give a better way to do BTC to USD

Address 2 is basically useless now.
Create a localBitcoin advertisment and people would contact you if they are interested in the trade, they are more likely to be interested in higher amounts. The online wallet part depends on what kind of wallet you are using, some wallets give you full control of your private key which allows you to access it even if the service goes down, if you keep a backup. Use opensourced wallets whenever possible and compile it yourself. Precompiled ones offer less assurance of it having no exploits.
7803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook and others now to take Bitcoin. on: February 07, 2015, 03:44:19 AM
Facebook doesn't take Bitcoin, its the payment processor that provides a option to accept Bitcoin. If the operator don't check the option to accept Bitcoin, Bitcoin still wouldn't be accepted. The title is misleading.
7804  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to hedge with Bitcoin on: February 07, 2015, 03:41:21 AM
How exactly can you hedge with Bitcoin? You can buy low and sell high, but how do you profit when the price goes down?
It is a risky investment, as you said, the price may go down. If the price doesn't go up, you would ultimately lose your money. It simply isn't a way to profit without risk, in the long run, you are likely to lose you money.
7805  Other / Meta / Re: trust trials on: February 07, 2015, 03:40:03 AM
No one should determine one's trustworthiness based on the trust system, it is only for reference and it can be inaccurate, just check out the reference and think for yourself.
7806  Economy / Services / Re: ★★★ Selling Vps ★★★ Dirt Chep ever ★★★ on: February 07, 2015, 03:34:36 AM
Well, I would like to buy one if you accept escrow

I Dont Mean what escrow . Accepting btc as payments .
Escrow means that the BTC/account will be handed to a secure third party and the BTC will be released to you once the trade is confirmed.

I don't honestly see much sense in this since the seller COULD just initiate a reinstall after receiving the BTC.
7807  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Sending/Receiving Fee Question on: February 07, 2015, 03:14:20 AM
So i have blockchain and electrum and will only use these 2 to send/receive btc from gambling sites.  First off, receiving btc is always free right?

For sending btc... i dont have any on blockchain or electrum but when i enter a number of btc in electrum it shows the btc fee as 0.0002 which is around 4 cents usd.  But with blockchain is it the same as in 0.0002 btc?  Im confused b/c i thought sending btc cost 5 or 10 cents... read that a while back.  So does using different way of sending it have different fee?  Such as multibit vs electrum or even hardware wallet?  I know its no big deal but curious on this.
You can change the fee/kb. The default fee is 0.00001/KB for medium transaction time and 0.0001/kb for high confirmation speed. The size is dependent on the amount of input and output. A priority of 57,600,000 is required for medium-fast confirmation. Priority is determined by size, amount and coinage.
7808  Economy / Goods / Re: Anonymous reloadable prepaid plastic VISA ATM cards with own IBAN on: February 07, 2015, 03:09:04 AM
I need a reloadable prepaid card to withdraw money from my paypal .. Smiley

I like to know this as well. I like to use it on my stealth paypal.
OP is no longer selling cards and Mbank has suspended the cards. You can use the IBan to verify paypal, it would work just fine. However, WBK cards are banned for Bitcoin related transactions, I am not sure if there are any prepaid cards available for this purpose.

Which alt coin is best to mine at gpu with nvidia card? I btc is now not profitable to mine with gpu. But can any one tell me which alt coin is profitable with gpu....Im using free electricity so remove this factor also..
Use coinchoose.com. However, note that nvidia cards are not that optimized for opencl calculations and AMD does a far better job at this. If you really want to profit, try selling your nvidia GPU for a AMD one and build a low end computer with that GPU.
7810  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I "protect" my wallet on: February 07, 2015, 02:57:20 AM
Yeah so that is the question. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would much appreciate it

I am currently using bitcoin core as a wallet. Its on my laptop which I use daily. I have malwarebytes pro and microsoft security essentials (if that matters at all, which I does not think it does)

Is there a better safer wallet? How do people even steal coins from wallets(not looking for a specifc answer here, more like how is it possible since my wallet is on my computer?)

If I put bitcoin core into an encrypted folder would that do anything for protection?
Antiviruses doesn't do much, so don't rely on them. The best method is not to download any programs thats suspicious and use Google Chrome since it would most probably have better virus protection than other browsers. No wallet is safe, SPV wallets doesn't protect you from malware hacking, same as full chain wallet.

You could try putting majority of the coins in a cold storage and put a small percentage on the desktop wallet.

Encrypted folders won't work since Bitcoin Core wouldn't be able to be used without a password. And when you key in the password, a malware could possibly have captured the password.
7811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin cash? on: February 03, 2015, 04:41:01 PM
Bitcoin is much much better than cash, other than it being able to be accessed everywhere, you dont have to exchange it for different currency before travelling from country to country, losing out on exchange rates and time. The con is that it is very volatile unlike cash, backed by government.
7812  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: can i use bitcoin core as an offline (cold) wallet on: February 03, 2015, 04:32:37 PM
can i use bitcoin core as an offline (cold) wallet?

what i want to do is, i want to install bitcoin-QT on an offline pc and just use it to create an address and send my bitcoin there.
can i do this without need of blockchain?

also what should i do (later) if someday i want to spend these bitcoins? how can i send them without having to go online and download blockchain OR exporting private keys

You can generate a wallet without internet, it is also possible to generate it without electronics. The internet is not so vulnerable such that your bitcoin would be stolen once you switch on your internet. As long as you do regular security patches, don't install anything suspicious or visit unsafe websites, you won't be hacked. I would really recommend you to use paper wallets and create new once when they are spent. Hardware failures are very possible, paper would have a longer lifespan than typical hard disk.
7813  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Core Shutting Computer Down on: February 03, 2015, 04:25:51 PM
Bitcoin armory is pretty much the same as Bitcoin core. Any SPV wallet would be nearly as safe if installed on a online computer while taking less time to sync, if you are in a hurry, you can just import it on blockchain.info or any other SPV client.

Its not im in a hurry it just keeps crashing my computer, driving me mad!

import it?

http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/4920/my-client-stopped-synchronizing-how-can-i-access-my-wallet
Cheers, James
Get the backup of your wallet.dat either at roaming/Bitcoin or your backup location. Next, drag the wallet dat to the box in the site https://blockchain.info/wallet/import-wallet. There isn't a need to run Armory if you just want to use Bitcoin, it is safer, sure but any SPV client can also do the job.

Do i have to get CGminer for altcoins  and how can i use CGminer fromGUIminer
Cheesy
GUIminer is only capable of mining SHA256 altcoins. GUIMiner scrypt is capable of mining scrypt coins. It really depends on what algorithm are you mining on. If it's a pos mining system, you have to rely on the wallet client to mine but you need to have some coins first. Alt coins announcement threads usually gives you the list of miner that can be used to mine that altcoin.

Ok now i get what is alt coin but why is it so better than bicoins?
And how do I mine it?
 Huh
As chuckbuck said, it isn't much better. However, some alt coins are created to be GPU/ASIC resistant, allowing users to mine on their regular PC while still getting a good amount of coins. Also, there are alt coins who promote anonymity by building mixers into it, eg darkcoin. Or POS, proof of stake and allow users who have coins in their wallet to run it as node to verify transactions and earn coins. There are loads of miner available to mine it, depending on what algorithm is the coin based on.
7817  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have 100 computers on: February 02, 2015, 03:16:16 PM
Rent your computers and internet. Open a cafe and use the earnings to buy bitcoin. That would be more sensible.

Run a script that mines coins at the same time as you rent them. 2x earnings.
You are seriously going to degrade the performance of your computer. Your CPU/GPU would be consuming more power with the possibility performance degradation when users are using them.
7818  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have 100 computers on: February 02, 2015, 11:33:24 AM
Mining would significantly reduce the computer's lifespan, therefore it may not be a good choice.

actualy thats a great thing, i allways make sure my hardware dies or becomes in some way unusable before warranty expires, and then ask for replacement.
this is the best with gpu-s, just stop fans for couple of hours on idle load (so it doesnt overheat) , and fans will die, and since noone replaces fans, u get new gpu from store,
atleast its like that here.

cheers
It would be pretty impractical to destroy 100 computers then send them for repair and get them back, you would need to set it up again. You won't know if they can be replaced or not.
7819  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please Help Me! on: February 02, 2015, 11:16:47 AM
So...
ACIS is special for mineing isn't it?
Im not looking for something like this
ASIC (not ACIS) are special purpose miners just for Bitcoin and SHA-256 based cryptocoins.
Quote
Just wonna make some coin without buying anything
Looking for answer altcoin seem cool Cheesy

There are ASIC miners available for scrypt and some other algorithms too. ASIC also exist in products other than crypto miners, ASIC miners have ASIC chips specifically designed for some algorithm. You are going to make very low and insignificant amount of coins with a GPU but you are free to decide what you want.
7820  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have 100 computers on: February 01, 2015, 10:35:20 PM
You can set them up and servers and sell them at the digital goods section. Mining would significantly reduce the computer's lifespan, therefore it may not be a good choice.
