801  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks would suffer till at least 2025, according to IMF on: May 26, 2020, 09:09:10 PM
In management, there is what is called contingency plan. Global recession that happened in 2008 is an eye opener while every countries must plan in case of unforeseen circumstances. Majority of banks that will be mostly affected will be banks in many third world countries. Especially countries that have been taking loan from international bodies like IMF. Countries like USA will be less affected even though they are greatly hit by the pandemic but i believe the can recover fast before the 2025 that IMF is saying.
802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do anybody know if there is a Best Crypto Project that Failed? on: May 26, 2020, 03:59:21 PM
Gymreward is one of those few project which seems to be very novel at that time. The idea was to create an app using blockchain technology plus a device that monitor heart beat rate so that a crypto called GYM will be mined when you do exercise. The project promote good health living. The dev couldn't raise money but continued to work with the money they take from their own hand. Unfortunately, the project is currently inactive due to lack of fund. Amon  Card is another great project that has been struggling and things went bad when many of their token holders lost their token on cryptopia when it was hacked
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The return of ICOs on: May 26, 2020, 02:35:05 PM
I do not believe ICO will make a come like it was in the past. This is because a lot of people especially the investors have lost interest in putting their money in any project because of lack of trust and also due to the fact that most projects are not always succeed in reaching their target. IEO would have been setting stone for investors to comeback into funding projects but result have shown that IEO have not really encouraging. Only those that are listed on big platforms like Binance have succeeded. Conclusively, Most of the new project are not novel, they are similar to the projects that have already existed
804  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to live without banks? on: May 26, 2020, 01:39:26 PM
The reason why we couldn't do without bank is because we are already used to getting things done easily using banks. From making purchase of goods and services using cards from bank to taking loans and other services provided by the banks. However, I strongly believe if banks do not exist, then we will not depend on them. By the way, researches have shown that there are millions of people that remain unbanked. meaning they are not using banks especially in Africa and other countries with low standard of living
805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you trade if you won't leave your coins on exchange on: May 25, 2020, 05:33:11 PM
Trading is not possible when you leave your coin in a wallet. You have to transfer it to exchange platform that you want to trade. The reason why it is being suggested that you should not leave your coin in exchange platform is the fear of an attack on the platform that might lead to loss of your coin as it has happened in the past https://thespinoff.co.nz/business/28-05-2019/how-new-zealand-company-cryptopia-lost-over-20-million-from-a-hack/. However, it is not advisable to keep coin in an exchange for a long time just the way it is being kept in a personal wallet for long term investing. When you are trading, you withdraw some percentage of your profit constantly to your wallet depending on your set goal. However, trading on a decentralized exchanges are less risky than centralized exchange but you can have issue related to limited trading, low liquidity etc.on most DEX platforms.
806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know why there won´t be any flippening? on: May 25, 2020, 04:38:23 PM
That is the reason why bitcoin has been touted as the only crypto that is fully decentralized. Many of the crypto especially the utility tokens are not decentralized and can still be much in control by the developers. For instance, a token based on ethereum blockchain can still be control by the dev that might decide to rendered it useless by changing smart contract address or by locking it.
807  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoins are lost everyday? on: May 25, 2020, 03:14:58 PM
If you refer bitcoin to be lost, I believe you are making reference to users that do not have access to their wallet permanently (not temporary) which I believe you cannot estimate that. If you have gotten this information from online source, it would be better to share the source link so that we can understand how the writer assume at that amount in a day. Unless someone come online to tell you that he/she lost access to the wallet, you hardly know that bitcoin is lost. Out of many people that will not post it online that they do not have access again
808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is crypto is better then fiat? on: May 25, 2020, 11:26:56 AM
While you have just enumerate one major narrative about crypto and fiat, you have not consider flexibility in term of usage globally, crypto offer the versatility to obtain product and services without have to provide many information about your details (Anonymity). A lot of people have been a victim of online hacking resulted in their identity being leaked online but through crypto, you can obtain a services anonymously.
809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Getting Listed On Exchanges on: May 24, 2020, 09:29:49 PM
all exchange have different settlement before listing a project. While most of them charge fee for listing, there are still some that require certain other conditions. Such as buying the exchange utility token as part of the agreement. There are still some that introduce a community voting system that enable traders to vote a particular coin for listing, in such case, the coin is always listed freely at the end of the voting system. for more details about exchange and their listing fee you can check this out https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5079048.0
810  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you cope with missing easy money making opportunity? on: May 24, 2020, 04:35:56 PM
It is greediness that make us to miss opportunity like that. You always think the price will keep increasing. The best way to stop missing opportunity like this is to make sure you already set a target which is not too bogus for yourself. Have a percentage gain you want and ones the coin reach the price, execute and make a sell order. Doing this will save you from missing and regretting money making opportunities.
811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETHEREUM UNDERVALUED OR OVERVALUED on: May 24, 2020, 03:39:28 PM
Network congestion is what makes the transaction fee to be high. This is not something unusual. It happens too to bitcoin. In term of usuage, Ethereum is undervalued because it has many features and most importantly the characteristics that make it possible to create smart contract on it. However many of the tokens that are being created are shitcoin. Probably if the cost of creating a smart contract on the Ethereum smart contract is increased maybe it will boost the value and discourage many creation of worthless token on its blockhain by dev.
812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solution to too many promoters on: May 24, 2020, 02:46:59 PM
There are two side to this story. While limiting numbers of bounty hunters may work, it may not work in other hands. Most dev team see bounty campaign as the easiest and cost effective way to promote their project. If not, there are many other means that they can adopt to promote their campaign. such as placing ads on popular exchange platforms, coin ranking platforms, etherscan etc. but they know this will involve alot of money, so they will prefer to use bounty campaign without even spending a cent at the beginning. When campaign is being conducted, the hope of hunters depend on the success of the project because if the project does not realized the  required amount, they may decide to cancel the project, meaning the hunters waste their time and energy.

However, there are some campaign that even if they make their target, they will do everything to frustrate hunters in order not to pay them their token, some dev will lock hunters token for a lengthy period of time, while some of them will start telling you to sign up for KYC that they did not tell you before the commencement of the campaign.

Many project dev do not like limiting amount of participants because they believe the higher the people that signup for bounty, the higher the reach of the project.

In another way round, some hunters are cheaters, they registered multiple entries using bot etc. they will steal peoples articles and videos and registered it. Some that participate in social media campaign have followers that are not real (bot) while some have followers that are bounty hunters like them thereby not making real impact when promoting the project.
813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Keep your loss at an acceptable level on: May 24, 2020, 10:04:25 AM
It is called experience. Sometime you lose and sometime you won. Nobody just wake up one day and become a pro. The accumulation of your experiences and the what you have learn from it is what determine maybe you will a better person or not. When you learn from your past mistakes and make amendment, then you become a better trader that minimize your loss and maximize your profit but when you do not learn from your trading mistakes, then you cannot be a better trader.
814  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy after COVID-19 on: May 23, 2020, 08:58:17 PM
After the economy recession that hit the world in early 2000, Many countries have learn their lesson and they have adopted strategic way in case of future occurrence so I believe the economy will pick up rapidly after this global pandemic. We have already seen so many countries thinking of printing more currencies to minimize the risk while countries like china have resume back manufacturing and doing some other activities. The only countries that might be difficult to recover quickly are those poor African countries that depend mostly on import materials
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trying to keep life savings more secured on: May 23, 2020, 05:30:16 PM
probably some that says the team insert a backdoor to steal coin must have downloaded the wallet from untrusted platforms. It is always important to download wallet from official website of the developer to avoid losing your coin to hackers. For the trust wallet, it is partly open source and partly closed source. For iOS version, it is open source while for the android version, it closed source. MEW and Etherwall are few of many open source wallet i can recommend
816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best stablecoin right now? on: May 23, 2020, 04:36:26 PM
I want to tell you that there is no single stable coin available today that you will not find one or two informations on the internet regarding how it is not a good one but to the best of my knowledge, Tether still remain the best out of them. This is because it has stand a test of time and you may not need to look around before you know it is the most used stablecoin. It is better to use this coin compare to other less common stablecoin. You have mentioned PAX but it is not as frequently used as tether. In fact, binance recently delist some PAX pairing from their website.
817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Huobi's VP accuses BNB and CMC for 'distorting' crypto rankings on: May 23, 2020, 01:52:59 PM
This criticism is expected even before the Binance acquire the cmc. However, after binance acquire the CMC, they launch series of information gathering strictly from people that visit the site asking them what they want to see improved in the coinmarketcap. According to the report shared on their twitter page, a lot of people want them to readdress the exchange ranking system by making sure exchanges that are faking volumes are taking care of. I believe they have the criteria they used to rank those exchange. The Huobi VP could have suggest his own view as part of the ranking system rather than attacking them. By the way, CMC is not the only ranking platform Coingecko is also there and each of them have different criteria for ranking.
818  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Business Accepts Small Payments - They Are Arriving In Wallet "Unspendable" on: May 23, 2020, 11:57:12 AM
network congestion on the blockchain is the main reason why the transaction fee is always high. However, depending on the wallet you are using, you can select different policy fee. The main reason why your wallet is suggesting that message is because the amount you have $30 is probably the average transfer fee at that moment. However, in case the bitcoin price fall and the network is less congested, the fee will also be lower than that but you should also know that the bitcoin equivalent in what you have will also reduce. If you don't normally withdraw your money from the wallet frequently, I will advice you to continue taking payment in bitcoin. However, you can add some other crypto payment options such as ETH and XRP. Those are less congested.
819  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IMF: The rise of digital currencies on: May 22, 2020, 07:27:46 PM
It means the future digital currencies will be stablecoin because other cryptocurrencies cannot minimize price fluctuation which is one of the drawback facing  crypto. IMF also have seen growing prospect of digital currencies and the bank might embrace digital currencies too by offering financial services rendered by the fintech companies. The more they realize this now the better for them
820  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain technology in universities on: May 22, 2020, 03:57:36 PM
Just like other technologies, programming languages, blockchain technology can also help universities and college to better understand big data analysis, modelling, and mathematical computing. features like POS, POW and so on can further be improved by continuous study of the blockchain technology in Schools. Blockchain technology are being combined with Artificial Intelligence and Augmented reality. Many schools in Cyprus and other European countries are now offering scholarship for individual for research in blockchain technology https://www.findaphd.com/phds/project/phd-studentship-for-a-blockchain-project-lightweight-blockchain-consensus-algorithm-for-resource-constrained-iot-devices/?p112657
