801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I doing the right thing on: July 30, 2022, 06:58:07 AM
Put most of your money in BTC for long term investment. More than half I would suggest. Yeah, ETH is a good choice as an altcoin investment. So you are safe if you are willing to hold long term and want to take less risks.

From the rest of the coins you have mentioned, I have heard of Avalanche and I think it is in one of the top 20 crypto currency list (based on marketcap). Don't know much about it but it has been trending for a while. The rest you mentioned, I haven't heard of any of them. So invest doing your own research. If those are some new altcoins with small marketcap and you believe they will skyrocket soon, invest a little, but don't go all-in. There are other better altcoins that are less risky to hold like ADA, SOL and DOT.
802  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 year of accepting crypto payment in my fashion store on: July 30, 2022, 06:29:38 AM

Challenges
The only down side I have experienced is the price volatility of Bitcoin. This has a huge effect on the business, because you need cash to run the business. Do you convert to fiat immediately or do you hodl the crypto payments you receive? If you choose the latter, how do you keep record of your actual profits? For me, I save my money in USD because of the unstableness of the naira. Accepting crypto payments has been of great benefit to me, crypto doesn't have an off-day like the banks do not work on weekends and the network on weekends are usually terrible, crypto payments saves me the bank trouble.
-snip-
I was wondering why the confirmation time wasn't a challenge to you. Do you usually accept transactions without fee? What if someone makes a huge transaction, will you accept their payment with zero network confirmation? What about the fees? What if some customers pay very low fee causing longer confirmation time? Do you set the fee for them?

And since you keep the payment in USD, don't you have to pay a conversation fee and mark up fee for any kind of transactions? How does that affect your business?
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is helping to eradicate poverty in poor countries on: July 30, 2022, 06:04:20 AM
Won't even bother reading the article because bitcoin can never "eradicate" poverty from any country. If this was the case, all "poor" country would make the use of bitcoin to get rid of poverty. The author of the article would probably be seen highly for showing the people the way to get rid of poverty. But no, it is not going to happen. Bitcoin is just another medium of payment and nothing else. It won't remove poverty or anything. Do you really think the poor will be able to invest in bitcoin? Even if they can, they shouldn't based on how volatile the market is.
804  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the future of Bitcoin uncertain? on: July 30, 2022, 05:44:11 AM
What could be the state of Bitcoin in the future?
You have to be more specific. What state are you talking about? Very likely it might become more available to the people and we will be seeing stores accepting bitcoin.

This is discussed all the time but I am asking this question because my elder brother said that after 2025 Bitcoin will not exist anymore and will be completely dead. He also said that after 2025 Bitcoin will not be mined so that Bitcoin will not be able to hold its own position.
So I would like to know from you how reasonable this statement is?
Lol, did you ask your elder brother why he thinks bitcoin will be dead after 2025? Why exactly after 2025? I bet he probably saw one of those FUD videos where some random "professional" was trash talking about bitcoin for some views and likes.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale Betting Strategy on BlackJack, how effective it is? on: July 30, 2022, 05:41:04 AM
Yeah, I doubt that "strategy" would work. All casino has an house edge, for which in the long run you will be losing your money to the house no matter what strategy you use. Blackjack does depend on some skill, but most of them are based on luck. You might be luck on first few rounds using the martingale strategy, but keep gambling using the same strategy, you will end up with having almost nothing left with you. The best and most effective strategy is to quit when you are winning or if you have lost a lot.
806  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi is not dead, what is he doing? on: July 30, 2022, 03:13:54 AM
After reading so many topics that discuss who satoshi could be and why he would leave bitcoin from one day to another it made me think: What is he doing these days?
What do you think he is doing? Eating, sleeping and working. I guess leading a normal life like every other human being in this world and is super rich.

It is really unlikely that he never ever came back to the forum again, just to read and look at the progress. Also it seems likely that he had at least one alt account that may even be sill active.
It is very likely that he do sometimes visit the forum like very rarely and see what's going on and how things are progressing. I don't think he would make an alt account. I bet when he said he leaves it to the community, he really did and won't interfere in any way.

But still doesn't matter if he dead or alive (i mean I would be glad if he is alive lol), visiting the forum or not, has an alt account or not, it won't change anything.
807  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most BTC you've spent on something? on: July 30, 2022, 01:10:38 AM
Gift cards. A lot of gift cards. I think I have spent more than thousands on buying gift cards. I am surprised to see lot of people not spending much of their Bitcoin. Are you guys only holding and selling your bitcoin for fiat and profit?

Also surprised no one mentioned that they spent a lot in gambling. Gambling falls in services, right?
808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be a wise investor on: July 29, 2022, 06:01:21 PM
Yeah, there is nothing wrong with taking a profit when the market is at its peak, this is something that varies for individuals, some people don't want to take a profit until the price reaches their target, and others do so when there is a reasonable rise in price.
From my little experience as an investor in this space for some time now, it is best to take profit, especially during the peak period of a bull run, once that period ends and the bear market comes in, you will be filled with regret for not making the move when you had the opportunity.
Here is the problem, no one knows the "peak" of the market, hence they hesitate to sell their coins. Don't you think if people knew what the peak was, everyone would be selling at the peak and buying during the dip? Everything would be easy with no risks involved. Again people also hesitate because of the past. I am sure there are people that thought $15,000 was the peak of bitcoin and sold their coins only to later realize that the price never went back down below $17,000.
I think a little differently, in my opinion, buying and selling of coins or tokens should be done looking at the whole situation of the crypto market and not the profit or loss. As at the moment if a project gives me a profit, I will not take that profit until the crypto market reaches a new all time high whether it is made in a month or a year.
In other words, you won't sell until you reach your profit goal. This is what most people do I think. Less risky, but slow.
809  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can trading be likened to gambling and how so? on: July 29, 2022, 06:07:20 AM
No they are two different things and can't be likened to each other. Gambling depends totally on luck. You either win or lose. You bet and hope that you win. In the long run, you will always lose since the casino will always have an edge. But trading is totally different. You take decisions. You can know what might happen in the future if you do proper analysis. If you are doing it right, you will be making profit in the long run trading. Sure it can be a form of gambling if you don't know what you are doing and just buying low and selling high with the hope of making profit.
810  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Good idea how to make profit on: July 29, 2022, 05:38:37 AM
So if grayscale is one of tge biggest whale they know when and how market moves.
Then lets collect money and pay them and other big whales to give us correct info
I think if we pay them each month 500,000$ that will do

Wht u think ? Merit for sure good innovative idea here
Lol, how do you guys even come up with this kind of "genius" idea? Do you really think they are going to take your $500,000 each month to manipulate the market for you? $500,000 is peanuts for them. If they wanted they could manipulate (and probably are) the market discreetly and make more than $500,000 per month, with less risk of getting caught or falling into trouble.

Not going to happen!
811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does bitcoin dump have any impact on gamblers ? on: July 29, 2022, 04:59:13 AM
Isn't it obvious it is going to have an impact on the gamblers? Those who hold bitcoins and sometimes gamble with their bitcoins are now going to gamble less because the value fell which means they will have to gamble "more" of their coins which might make them lose more coins, hence less likely to gamble more and wait for the market to recover. They literally have less money to gamble with than before. On other hand, those who just invested during the dip might want to gamble more, for the exact opposite reason. They won't be losing much in value, but if they win, they will be winning more coins and if they hold their coins for long term, they are making some good profit.
812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rise of Streamers in Online Gambling on: July 29, 2022, 01:19:48 AM
I’ve been watching many streamers on twitch and youtube for more than a years. I always craved to play gambling everytime I watch them winning huge amount. I find there video streaming very encouraging most of the time because I feel like I can win too everytime they are winning.
-snip-
And they is why casinos are hiring streamer to stream games. I bet most of the streamers aren't allowed to pocket any of those money they win. They are payed some fixed fee by the casino for streaming while funds are also provided by them which they can't withdraw but use as they like in the casino. Hence the streamers have no fear of losing anything, so they keep on making insane bets and do win some of them, tempting the viewers to place bets. They wouldn't be betting the same way if they were using their own funds!
813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking forward to add exchange tokens to my portfolio on: July 28, 2022, 05:25:55 AM
What is the best exchange investment for a newbie? I am looking for an exchange either CEX or DEX token that's good for long term hold, I can only find BITGET and DODO, which one would you advice to go for?.. Already had BNB so no need to talk about BNB.
I doubt any exchange tokens, CEX or DEX would be good for long term holding. They carry more risks. For any reason, if any of those exchange fails or something happens (like a major hack or something similar), the tokens would tank them with them.
Not sure why you would want to invest in a exchange token. Other than giving lower fees, what other benefits do they carry? Better stick with bitcoin and regular altcoins.
814  Economy / Gambling / Re: My list of good crypto casinos on: July 28, 2022, 04:53:50 AM
Hi Guys!

I'm interested in your opinion about my compilation of casinos accepting crypto deposits. I know they aren't pure crypto casinos, but they are time-proven and trustworthy. Some of them are in operation for over 20 years. You only can see the casinos on the page that are accessible from your country.

So, here is the link to the page: https://casinoroam.com/bitcoin-casinos/

You need to redesign the page to attract more traffic and users. Too many texts aka "wordy" and for some reason everything seems clustered in one whole page. Like there is too much information in a single page (more likely because of what I said before, "wordy"). And you can add more casinos. Literally haven't heard of any of those "crypto casinos" that you linked us to. Try looking for some on this forum, review them and add it to your list. If you haven't you can start with cryptogames.
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You won't find this on Google yet on: July 28, 2022, 01:37:16 AM
INO stands for — Initial NFT Offering

You are welcome.
I googled it too and it did show tell me what INO is? You probably just google INO and didn't show anything because INO isn't a trend yet and people don't go around looking for INO. Use other crypto related keywords and you will get the result you were looking for.

So what is this post about? What are you trying to say here?
816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Among all which do you hold on: July 28, 2022, 01:34:30 AM
You can trade if you want, but the risk is higher. You won't always make profits. You are bound to make mistakes and you will lose money. So if you are willing to take those risks, then yeah, you can trade. But you want to avoid those risks? Then hold. Less riskier and guaranteed to give you profit in the long run.

Among the coins that you have mentioned, I would replace BNB and UCT (never heard of this coin) with some other well known coins.
817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The digital ID for Gambling on: July 27, 2022, 09:33:42 PM
How is it going to stop "kids" from gambling? If the kids were able to gamble before in casinos that needed to pass identity verification, then how is this going to be any different? The kids will still somehow find a way to gamble with or without that "digital gambling ID". This won't stop anything. Just another excuse by the government to make sure they can keep a better eye on their citizens and they pay their due taxes properly. Nothing to do with kids and gambling.
818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casino Trends For 2022 on: July 27, 2022, 02:34:17 AM
-snip-

The article lists the trends in online casinos in 2022. These trends are highlighted below:

  • Crypto is dominating gambling circles
  • Gamblers in restricted locations can still play
  • Rapidly changing consumer habits
  • More live games on offer
  • Virtual reality games on the rise
  • Land-based casinos trending downwards
  • Evolution of slots games
  • New table games
  • Gambling on smartwatches on the move
-snip-
1. I don't think so. There are more "non crypto casinos" than those of Crypto casinos.
2. Yes, they can play as long as they use a VPN, but most casinos require KYC when you will want to withdraw. You won't be able to withdraw since you won't be able to pass KYC. So yes, you can play, but you might not be able to withdraw.
3 and 4: Maybe though haven't seen live games much.
5.Not really.
6 and 7: These are true.
8: Gambling on smartwatches would be a disaster. Why would anyone want to gamble on a small screen?

-snip-
Have you noticed any online casino trends in 2022 not listed in the article?
You can read the articles here: https://blog.bc.game/online-casino-trends/
This is why the article is so biased.
819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If There's No Casino Signature Will The Gambling Board Still Be The Same on: July 23, 2022, 04:22:08 PM
If you're promoting a casino-based campaign you need to post at least 5 to 10 posts in the gambling section Currently there are  1136622 Posts and  5903 Topics in the gambling discussion alone the gambling announcement not included making it the most active board here in Bitcointalk.

If There are No Casino Signature campaigns Anymore Will The Gambling Board Still Be The Same will we have the same stats as we are seeing right now
We would be seeing less posts I guess. But the announcement threads and casino discussion threads would still be the same since other signature campaigns (non gambling related) does allow posting in gambling boards. And as far as I can see, most of the posts are made on some crappy "prediction" or "bet discussion" threads. I thought most casinos don't count any posts made on those threads as 99% of those are just some spam bet posts?
820  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason why I put all my money in Bitcoin as a newbie on: July 23, 2022, 03:52:24 PM
Find it weird how everyone is praising you or is saying that you did the right thing. If I were you I wouldn't put all my money in Bitcoin or any crypto currencies. The crypto currency market is very volatile and has a lot of risk associated with it. Even though the risk with investing in bitcoin is low, you still shouldn't invest everything you have in bitcoin. What if after you invest, the market starts going down and then you need some money? You will have to sell your coins at a loss. Invest what you can afford to lose. Diversifying your portfolio isn't that bad. Some altcoins might give you good profit. Put most in bitcoin, rest in some altcoins.
