821  Economy / Reputation / Re: The Case of the sinning Saint on: May 12, 2019, 02:34:10 AM
Thank you for this thread legendster. After looking more closely at it a decision has to be made sooner rather than later, unfortunately.

I just hope he doesn't get banned or whatever. That'd be sad. I know how helpful these sig camp incomes can be. It's kept me afloat at times. I don't want to see someone lose their income because of something stupid they said.

823  Economy / Reputation / The Case of the sinning Saint on: May 12, 2019, 02:26:47 AM
About a day or two ago, I ran into this French gentleman who jumped into the Indian section - because his signature campaign encourages posts in local boards.

Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with that campaign requirement, but to find someone who's jumping in the local boards in the middle of a thread and post something that is completely unrelated is a little bit annoying, to say the least.

As a result, I posted a warning on his campaign thread so the CM can take a look. Here's a sc of my post below.

To which his reply was this :

WOW  Shocked
The link is not enough big at the end of the post for you?
The title in bold is not enough clear for you?
Did you read the title of the thread at least ?
"How Indian Govt. cheated the whole nation (NewsFlash)"
This NEWS is a news about the Indian Govt, I think it's an important news but which doesn't need a new thread for itself. So I posted it in the thread which fits the best.

So I don't understand what's your problem with it except my signature?  Huh
You advised me against commenting on indian topics because "I do not understand the Indian mentality" according to you* and now you want me to not even post indian news? Who are you? You're not even a DT member.
I have posted 9 posts in the Indian board since May 2. Do you think it's too much?
I have received 2 merits for these posts from indian members and I have been quoted several times.
So your accusations are pure defamation.
If you don't want "strangers" in the Indian board*, you just need to say it to me, we can talk about that but you don't need to defame me here.
I'm a hero member because of the merits I earned so I think I know what and how to post correctly. Thank you.

Edit: BTW I don't know who you are but I see you've earned 22merits in the last 120 days(2 in the indian board). FYI I've earned 21 merits from 10 different people this week. So I don't need your judgement on the quality of my posts. Thank you sir.

*
As you can see here localbitcoins volume is steadily growing in India.
https://coin.dance/volume/localbitcoins/INR
So you shouldn't think about the present, but about the future.
More information in indian languages will enhance mass adoption in my opinion.
Cryptos are not made for rich and smart people, but for everybody, including unbanked people
-snip-
You do not understand the Indian mentality if you think otherwise. You should stick to your french communities.
(bold is in the original post)

As you guys can see, he's been posting somewhat off-topic replies in the Indian thread and obviously, copy-pasting stuff. He thinks I was out to defame him, honestly, I don't have time to track such shit. It was just something that came up when I was browsing the thread myself. He didn't exist for me before these couple of days and I am sure the feeling is mutual.

And then I ran into another one of his posts, take a look :

Compare that with this

Word-for-word copy paste, no quotation to show it is actually sourced from the main site.

The only part of his post where he does use quote marks - to indicate that he is copying from somewhere, is a quoted statement itself that the article pulled from CryptoKanoon twitter handle.

Here's my question,

Am I wrong here to point out that this guy is jumping in a thread with off-topic copy paste jargon just so his posts look big and mighty at first glance but in reality they're not adding any value to the discussion that's going on, disrupting it with something entirely off topic?
I mean come on! We're discussing how the Indian govt is cheating its people and out comes Mr Saint with a post about some blockchain certification course?

And then he goes on to compare my "merit" in the last 120 days vs his and how he was "merited" more number of times than I was?
I've never been in the merit game and I've voluntarily given away merit in the past through merit giveaway campaigns. Why would I go out of my way to "defame" him? And frankly, that pissed me off a bit.

If any mod sees what Mr Saint here is doing is in clear violation of the copy-paste rule of the forum, please don't ban him. Just clarify to him that what he's doing is wrong and I am not out here on a Saint-hunt.

Also, if I am wrong, do let me know. I would modify my posting behaviour as well. Just put the link to an article and copy paste in everything from there.

And finally, to answer Mr Saint on this quuestion :
Who are you? You're not even a DT member.

That's right. I am no-one.
824  Economy / Services / Re: [free samples] I write articles in English for cheap on: May 12, 2019, 01:54:22 AM
Oh, you want to do free samples? Sure, I'll bite.

Here's my requirement :

Write a 500-word introduction about yourself, with your real verifiable name and why people should consider hiring you? Explain your background in tech or whatever streams you have studied in. Don't forget to mention your rate and make a strong case for someone to hire you and pay you that fee rate which you're demanding.

So go for it.

825  Economy / Services / Re: I will do any Photoshop (image editing) job you need on: May 11, 2019, 04:47:28 AM
Can you fix the stuttering and blicking on an old VHS video?

I can do that. Pm me the details and video.

It's not nice to try and snatch someone's client from their threads like this. If you think you can do the job then send the client a personal message instead.
826  Economy / Services / Re: [Sponsors Required] For a video series on around the world on Bitcoin on: May 11, 2019, 04:34:53 AM
Interesting.

Here's my issue. For this to be successful you need a few things by my understanding.

1. Existing funding that would get you, your video hosts, film crew (if you have one) and your equipment across 30 countries. If you are a solo vlogger with a handheld camera, then the crew costs are gone.

2. Existing youtube channel with some followers so that when you start vlogging, they can join in, share and possibly get your content viral.

3. 0.1 BTC at today's rate is $650, give or take, so each "sponsor" with just 650 bucks would not be able to get you enough money for the entire project, however, there can be sponsors with larger amounts right? My question is, how would the 'exposure' that you would bring to your sponsors differ from the guy who pays you 650 bucks vs someone who pays you 6500 bucks (hypothetically).

For the last point, if no one invests more than 650 bucks to you, then you'd be left with more than a few dozen sponsors at which point promoting your sponsors would take up more time in the video than the main content.

What you have described here, is a very tantalizing opportunity for some. I just hope you have the experience and mettle to prove yourself, it'd be a shame if this turned out to be another hollow hype.

Your branding on our YouTube videos

Post your youtube channel, Im interested now on a world traveller show based on BTC use.   Sounds like a great idea tbh but I guess people want to see you have the media skills in general footage, setting up scenes etc.    I know a few media study students so know quality really shows through Smiley

Just wanted to respond to this. You do not really need "skills" to make it big on youtube. Take a look at any of the popular travel vlogs, the well set up, well lighted, well put together scenes do just as well (or badly) as the amateur ones. So I don't think he needs any of those things you mentioned, but if he has em - then it'll be for the better.

Hey Hamp and the team at Cloudbet.

Your posters are shitposting and threadjacking threads to post about completely unrelated copy pasted stuff in the local boards.

Example :

Just google any of his quoted or unquoted texts, all of it is copy pasted.

Please look into the matter, most local boards, especially the Indian one has no mod so reports never get handled by global mods. So I had to post this here instead so the CM can warn its participants.
829  Local / India / Re: How Indian Govt. cheated the whole nation (NewsFlash) on: May 10, 2019, 01:39:00 AM

I blame Cloudbet for this kind of shitty unrelated copy paste plagiarized post that's getting posted in the local boards these days, especially in the Indian subboards. Top that with the fact that there is no one to handle Indian board reports because Benson has been removed from the post for quite some time.
830  Local / India / Re: Indian Govt Planning Ban on Crypto on: May 09, 2019, 06:23:48 PM
I doubt a bank would be coming in anytime soon. ....

Ban, not bank, right?

The way I see it, once our old pal Putin-wa legalizes crypto and creates a proper framework, India would be soon to follow suit. It won't be banned outright.
831  Local / India / Re: How about contacting IEPFA regarding CryptoCurrency ban in India? on: May 09, 2019, 06:19:45 PM
It's shame. After 10 years of bitcoin, still people think it as a ponzi scheme. It's more shame that Agarwal is thinking like that. I guess they are trying to create bad image of bitcoin among people.

Just because something has been existing for a while it does not mean it would inspire confidence in people's mind. Whether that thing is good or bad.
For example, US has had Trump for a few years now, does that mean he has gained legitimacy among his opposition (basically everyone with a functioning brain)? Nope.

While Bitcoin and Trump don't equate. One is good the other one is an orange pile of shit. But the argument holds I guess.

Please read the below link,

https://www.indiatoday.in/india/story/50-lakh-men-lost-jobs-between-2016-18-azim-premji-university-report-1503857-2019-04-17

Do you think this study report was funded by the opposition? I am not putting my opinion here but leaving it up to individual wisdom!
The article is supported by relevant data and figures.Even if it was sponsored,it is not false

In fact, the current judicial system is bought out by BJP money. Don't forget that the situation got so bad that SC judges had to conduct a press conference to confront the corruption brought forward by the senior most of the Chief Justices.

833  Local / India / Re: Best indian Peer to Peer or Fiat Exchange on: May 09, 2019, 06:03:52 PM
Yes "Gods own country" Wink, i will tell you this, it is not illegal to run crypto based business ..

Then you are misinformed. According to RBI rules no business is allowed to commercially exchange cryptos for Indian fiat. Ask the Unocoin guy. Or the Koinex team or even Zebpay.
How can you run a business with something that is not recognized as a form of payment? You can't pay taxes, the Tax dept would be out to get you and you'd be fucked.

Do you know how traders blackmail on Bisq? Once I tried trading and some dude wanted me to pay first without him showing any signs of the btc that he was supposed to sell. Long story short it ended with him calling me up (thank you for exposing my number Bisq) and says he'll file an FIR against my name saying I am engaging in ML just because I did not want to pay him first. I handled him, taught him a proper lesson. But everyone's not like me, especially us Indians are prone to getting duped.

Long story short, Bisq will not get to the levels of LBC in India.

With a small community of buyers and sellers, you need all the sellers in as few many platforms as possible to maintain competitive rates - we're already paying 9 - 15% premium to buy / sell crypto, that would soon multiply otherwise. That's why we should stay away from fringe websites that add no value to the community and subjects traders to scam attempts.

So I'll repeat, there are no viable alternative to LBC or LETH with exception to Wazirx.
834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Using 25,000 USD capital properly on: May 09, 2019, 05:35:44 PM
None of these replies actually address the question.

You should make the exchange a secondary feature while focusing on developing a cause for people to exchange - that is the only way for you to survive.
Use the 25k to develop an MVP, seek out long term incubators and advisors.

Pay a research firm to dig into your features and use the result to create a stronger point for your exchange to exist. Focus on giving a service to the people beyond being just an exchange, because there are many 'just exchanges' out there that aren't 'making it' .. if you know what I mean.

835  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for affiliation partners for High Paying Affiliate Program on: May 09, 2019, 04:56:16 PM
A signature campaign would not be worth doing in this case IMO. That will simply generate traffic but with less signups and less conversion rate to long term players.

I was thinking more in the lines of what Bitcoin-based betting sites have been conducting here. Besides that, a bounty program that is targeted towards gamers and gamblers would fetch a decent result. My two cents.
836  Other / Off-topic / Re: Share your artwork for critique and review on: May 09, 2019, 03:59:19 PM
Back on the forum. Nothing to do. So why not try to promote this instead.

It's been a while few years since I started this Dragon sculpting in 3Ds Max.

I am now looking to complete this with proper textures and fixing some of the wing parts.

I want the end result to be as close to Viserion from Game of Thrones

Critiques and suggestions welcomed.
837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Charity + Crypto? on: May 09, 2019, 03:37:40 PM
I've been trying to merge Raffle lotteries and charity for a while. Unsuccessfully so far.
Read about my charity raffle here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5128694.0

Cabalism has tried doing it and has had a few contributors.

Outside of few users trying to run their own charity causes I don't see any active engagement from this community. However, there's potential. The tax benefits alone could attract many people. For that we have to get crypto taxed everywhere first. Which is a beast in its own right.
838  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Exodus Mobile on: May 09, 2019, 03:31:03 PM
This is not possible.

In order to access the system files, you need to have root access. Trying to access the system files without rooting is impossible even you are using ADB you can't access these folders because it still requires the mobile phone to be rooted.

It is possible.

It is correct that you need a rooted device to access all information on your mobile or to access information from a different context.

But.. as i have mentioned, IF the application allows to be run in debug mode, you can enter the user context of this specific application via adb.
Then, you can access all data from its context (meaning all data stored by this particular application).
This can be done with the adb command: run-as

Application developer can disable the option to be run in debug-mode.
And in fact, security orientated applications should do that, but a lot of those still allow to be run in debug mode.

So the question now is whether there is debug mode support for the app in Android - which we won't know until we get an android release. Can anyone confirm if the debug mode works in IOS? Then perhaps that would be something that'll be carried over to the Android version.

Unless it's a native app in which case they could be removing that feature from the ground up.
839  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who is trading on P2P wallet exchanges? on: May 09, 2019, 02:59:56 PM
I still worry about trading in my mycelium because I don't know who that person is. I still feel better to trade on the local exchange or sent bitcoin to my sellers so he can convert it into fiat and send the money to my bank account.
I see it in my mycelium, but I don't want to try to use the p2p exchange on that wallet.

p2p trades are way more secure and anonymous than trading on local exchanges.
One of the many benefits I think is the ability to get payment in your prefered mode, be it in your bank account, PayPal or somewhere else. You set rates that you're comfortable with.

Basically, you're in control.

It's true though, not many people can be trusted with their own finances. So I totally get it if you have to say the same thing twice to express its importance to me - or maybe you just ran out of things to say and paraphrased the same thing again.
840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Erc 223, 721 support in Ethereum Wallets on: May 09, 2019, 02:54:22 PM

Now if only I could get Marcus Ligi to confirm the thing about Walleth.
