841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Big is the online gambling industry today? on: June 23, 2023, 11:15:49 PM

According to the articles shared, sports betting will have the highest market gain in the next few years.
What do you think?

Online gamblingm and the gambling industry is expanding rapidly all over the world. With online gambling people can watch live streams of gambling activities on their phones and place bets directly through mobile apps from the comfort of their homes. In the US, the emergence of online gambling can be attributed to a significant event in 2018 when the Supreme Court passed a bill that lifted the ban on sports gambling across all states in the US. During the past two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has further accelerated the growth of the online gambling industry in the US. As physical casinos in Las Vegas were forced to shut down due to the pandemic, many gamblers turned to online gambling platforms as an alternative. This shift in behavior has not been limited to the US alone, as online gambling has become a profitable source of tax revenue globally, offering short-term financial benefits and showing signs of continued expansion.
842  Economy / Economics / Re: Fast Transportation Makes Economic Turnover Faster on: June 23, 2023, 01:33:41 PM

do you all agree that with the emergence of fast transportation now, the economic turnover is also getting faster, this is based on the fact that any delivery will be distributed quickly, automatically it will make the price of living necessities and kind remains stable as long as it can be distributed quickly!
This idea is highly problematic. Having fast transportation does not guarantee safety. It is crucial that anyone considering working as a delivery person for this service has proper insurance coverage because I fail to see how it can be viable in a busy urban area. While it might generate positive public relations for the business, it could also be detrimental to them. Delivery personnel face risks similar to paratroopers, with a high likelihood of experiencing musculoskeletal injuries, as well as joint and back problems due to repetitive landings and strain on their joints, knees, and ankles. This experiment should be halted. A more efficient and safer transportation model for them would involve the use of robots and unmanned drones for delivery.
843  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning online more preferable than offline? on: June 23, 2023, 01:12:32 PM
Earning money online is far superior to working at a physical establishment during the day. Although offline is highly appreciated and difficult. Trading is a great approach to find your true self. It will put everything to the test, including your greed, emotions, patience, discipline, how you handle failure, control, common sense, and resolve. I strongly advise anyone who is going through a terrible time in their life to learn to trade since it provides them a clear sense of purpose other than waiting for jobs. So, which is better, online or offline?
Earning money can be done both online and offline, but not everyone is suited for both options. The key differentiating factor between the two is marketing. Online earning relies on capturing attention since attention translates into sales. That's why YouTubers and social media influencers often ask viewers to "like, share, and subscribe" or use phrases like "sharing is caring." Some individuals with ample free time can handle the marketing aspect of making money online, while others are unable to do so and instead stick to their 9-5 jobs, which can be well-paying, or focus on their own businesses. A few individuals have even managed to "hack" the system by earning money both offline through their businesses and online by sharing their business activities on the internet. Prominent figures like Gary Vaynerchuk, Grant Cardone, and Robert Kiyosaki serve as excellent examples of gurus in this field.
844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Small Birthday Gift - Bitcoin on: June 23, 2023, 01:06:18 AM
Long back while having conversation with one of my girlfriend she said she was interested into cryptocurrency. Quite often she used to watch more details on Instagram posts and doesn't have proper knowledge to get into it. Days passed and today it is her birthday. I remembered the conversation and wished her. Already she had Binance, so requested her to send the bitcoin address and send a small amount of 0.0011BTC as birthday gift.

I know it is not good to send gifts to the centralized exchanges. During the conversation she said she is interested to learn about trading and for that purpose she had downloaded Binance. While meeting her in person I will brief her better about the security and need for non custodial wallet.
Bravo, I imagine how proud you'd be. I know that 0.0011BTC as birthday gift may be something you can afford to lose but how about the recipient? How would she feel if she loses it on the exchange? When you talk to her about security do ensure that you set up a software wallet for her. One your mind would be at rest. She would too be happy.
845  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Investors Confidence in Bitcoin💪 on: June 23, 2023, 12:47:57 AM
Hopefully during the Bitcoin Halving of 2024, Bitcoin will break all previous records and reach a peak price.
What is your opinion on this?
I used to strongly believe that the Bitcoin halving would positively impact its price, but my perspective has changed. Relying on conclusions drawn from only three previous Bitcoin halving is insufficient. I also support the argument that the halving could actually lead to a decrease in Bitcoin's price. This is because miners, after the halving, will earn half of their usual Bitcoin rewards per block, resulting in reduced revenue. As a consequence, they may need to sell more Bitcoin to cover their operational expenses. However, despite these concerns, I will continue to passively buy Bitcoin. Whether the price increases or not, I am content knowing that I will still possess my Bitcoins.

846  Economy / Economics / Re: SEC fighting for the publics my ass on: June 23, 2023, 12:22:22 AM
This is what I was talking about in my previous talking. I have read some of the comments here and I agree that we are all allowed to hold our own opinions and draw our conclusions and make our hypothesis and theory. I am on the side with the OP. No matter what. It all looks too coordinated or should I say too synchronized? This is exactly what @PresonPsych said about it. Anyways a part of me wishes I am wrong about this but then lets watch these asset management institutions do their thing and bitcoin natives won't be wiped.

847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / I strongly suspect a sinister move here. You? on: June 22, 2023, 03:50:36 PM
I strongly suspect a sinister move here. It is the government subtly trying to take over and be in control of Bitcoin. We are seeing big asset management companies and financial institutions suddenly getting involved with Bitcoin, which is partly the reason why there is a pump in the price of Bitcoin. They are applying for ETFs, and some others are coming together to create an exchange. The latest development is Crédit Agricole's CACEIS gaining Crypto Custody Registration in France. Why are all these things happening almost at the same time when Binance is being grilled by governments in different countries? Do not be carried away by all of this; it's the government's attempt to gain control of Bitcoin because, for all I care, these financial institutions with trillions of dollars are controlled by the government. They are the government.

848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would the advancement in AI have any adverse effects on cryptocurrency? on: June 22, 2023, 03:29:05 PM
The rapid development and advancement of AI is something that everyone is aware of. AI has truly come to stay with new ideas being implemented and released by different companies.

However, I'm a bit curious on how AI would affect cryptocurrency in the nearest future. Will it be majorly positive or negative? Let's all share our thoughts on this.
AI is already revolutionizing cryptocurrency in many ways that we can't even imagine both now and in the future. Whether it will be positive, negative or neutral depends on who is using the AI and for what purpose. We have encountered a negative effect of AI on bitcoin's price when some images were shared online. Well, since this user @Cantsay has provided links to similar topics, you would find perfect examples and instances of AI's impact on the cryptocurrency market.
849  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Service or Bot for effective and timely DCA execution? on: June 22, 2023, 03:08:10 PM
Do you use telegram on your phone? If so, you can use @skeddybot and put a reminder on the time/day you want to buy Bitcoin. It will push you a notification and the notification can be further activated after 5/10/30 mins so you don't forget even if you are busy at the exact time. It will be a great hand if you want to schedule something and want to do it in time.
I have used @skeddybot several times, and it is one of the best reminder tools available. Another service that the OP can consider, if they don't mind using an exchange, is the auto-invest feature on the Binance. With auto-invest, you can set a specific plan by choosing BTC from the options and creating a plan. For example, if you choose an amount like a hundred dollars in BTC, the system will automate the purchase for you. You can set it to occur weekly, say on Mondays, and even choose the specific time. Once you have finished setting it up, you will notice that it will dollar cost average and consistently buy a hundred dollars' worth of bitcoin every Monday without fail. If there are no dollars in the account, it simply won't execute the purchase. This is a service I know that can help someone efficiently implement DCA

850  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic problem, why is fiat difficult to hold. on: June 22, 2023, 02:32:07 PM
Why is money at hand difficult to hold? I usually find it difficult to keep track of money anytime I have cash at hand, I make plans to hold money, but It never stays because something always demands the money, it is even so bad now that money kept in my account is also now being affected due to expenses. This is not something that happens to only me, I know that because of how money can easily be spent, many people now decide to avoid having cash, avoid taking ATM cards from their banks and also avoid activating USSD or internet banking, but is that really a long term solution? I blame myself a lot for spending so much and being irresponsible with money, but in your opinion, do you think that the soceity is contributing to the high and many expenses making money not to stay or is it just a bad habit I have?

Money is difficult to hold because a lot of things created these days are meant to take money out of your hands and into their pockets. You have to pay for a Netflix subscription and a gym membership. We are so busy these days that we hardly cook our own meals, so we have to pay for eating out. So many things are outsourced nowadays, so you pay for whatever it is that you have outsourced. In fact, we may get to the point of paying for the air we breathe (I hope it doesn't happen). One other thing you should note is that if you live in a country where inflation is happening, you would notice that you spend more money than you used to spend on regular stuff. The two best ways I know to control this and have some money with you are to get more jobs and watch what you spend.
851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Asset Or Currency? on: June 22, 2023, 12:07:10 PM
In your opinion, bitcoin is an asset or a currency?
Bitcoin is an asset. Bitcoin is also a currency.
Bitcoin is a currency as well as an asset. It is money if you are in El Salvador. Being in an African nation is advantageous. It serves as both a currency and an asset in several other areas. Bitcoin doesn't currently have many use cases, but with time and an increasing rate of acceptance, we will. When my nation was in a recession and inflation was high, I changed my bank wealth into bitcoin a few years ago to prevent it from falling. Here, bitcoin acted as an asset that I could use as a store of wealth and an inflation hedge. When I needed to purchase an item from a foreign country but my country's bank cards were not being accepted, I asked the vendor if they would accept bitcoin at that moment. They complied, and I used bitcoin to pay for the item. Here, I used bitcoin as my medium of exchange. I personally view bitcoin as a currency as well as an asset.

853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Nations League final four ⚽ on: June 20, 2023, 09:32:11 PM
Croatia loses the national league championship to Spain. It was a challenging game characterized by excellent performances from both parties; everyone was concentrating on the title and put in all they had on the field; nevertheless the game ended in extra time and penalty shootouts with brilliant performance fulltime. That was a completely another level, and we all know how nerve-racking taking penalties is. Those who scored were ecstatic, while those who failed to score were booed by the supporters. Spain won the current champions of the national league trophy.
The goalkeeper of the Croatian national team, every time he plays against Spain, turns into a calamity with legs and gloves. He didn't stop any penalties, they scored five goals against him in the Euro, it's that ancestral fear that some goalkeepers have when playing against certain opponents. Spain lost on penalties 2018, 2020 and 2022. Why they had to be so good and confident now, when Croatia had a chance for first trophy? And mind you, Croatia have good record on penalties.
854  Economy / Economics / Re: The new U.S.-China agreement is a "forced friendship. What awaits the world ? on: June 20, 2023, 09:17:01 PM
That's what you heard and the twisted agenda you want to push. America and China need each other, they both get stronger by working together so it's only unhinged leadership that will seriously damage it. Unfortunately China does not rule by fairness and openness - but by brute and incompetent force. It would be disastrous for China to try to take Taiwan and the world would likely wake up to the danger they pose, even worse than Russia, if such actions went ahead. China really screwed up Hong Kong after taking over, crippling it as a powerful financial hub, and this was their chance to prove that they were good leaders.
The US is afraid of upsetting a major trade partner. They have to stop letting fear of losing money emasculate them. American businesses made their decisions about where to base factories. If they didn’t think through the potential risks before making their investments, shame on the shareholders. There was never a guarantee that the US government would always make decisions that would assure that profits from private investments in China would grow quarter over quarter in perpetuity.

For them to tread lightly around national policy because they’re scared the likes of Apple will express pain about how their business decisions weren’t honored by US policy is for them to allow Apple to dictate US policy. Private investors will always put their own interests above the national interest. This doesn’t make them bad people. It makes them consistent and predictable.

856  Economy / Economics / Re: App to monitor financial world events - what are you using ? on: June 20, 2023, 07:47:51 AM
Hey All,
Can you recommend website / app that monitors upcoming financial events that impact global finances ? Like example upcoming US FED interest rates decision on Wednesday, next year BTC halving etc. Is there an app that help keep tract, set mobile alerts etc ? What are you using ? I'm just wondering if there is one stop shop for that type of info vs. collecting all the knowledge from news, tweets, socials ...

Thanks
M
I always Google, "World news now". Most times, I do not always set out with a particular news outlet in mind. I use Google and let it led me.  I refine my search keywords as I go to help me find the latest and most accurate financial news. At other times, I go straight to the news website. It could be that I have read a snippet or excerpt of their news article online. Maybe even a recommendation. Sometimes, my news sources are pure visual - YouTube and there are lots of them both independent and other news sources. By the way, is there a preference in this case...i feel that some popular news channels may be biased in their reporting due to regulations, but independent sources say it as it is. When I am on the road, I try listening to news on the radio too.

859  Economy / Economics / Re: I thought there was an egg shortage. on: June 18, 2023, 08:58:13 PM
I thought there was a global panic over egg supplies. Not so long ago they were rationing sales. This morning I bought some boxes of 6 big and fresh eggs for just 21 pence. The normal price is £1.40. It just shows how food prices and distribution is being manipulated to rip us off. That is if we aren't aware and exploiting the situation for our own benefit. The eggs were on sale at a m ajor Asda supermarket in Hampshire, England.
In my country, there is no shortage of eggs rather the prices have tripled over the last 6 months. The is the result of rise in the cost of feed to give the birds and high cost of production as well. But then we can't complain because in the next 2 -3 months the price may go up by 5%. Nothing we can do about it. If it were easy, I would raise my own birds in the yard but it ain't.
860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Smart Way to Introduce Bitcoin to Relatives, Spouse or Family on: June 18, 2023, 07:33:23 PM
You should keep your introduction as simplest and shortest as possible because if you explain it too long, people will lose their concentration to listen to your speech. It is your failed attempt if you plan your introduction with 5 steps but they give up after 2 steps.

You can try to introduce them about convenience of Bitcoin transactions, advantage of owning private key and be your own bank. If they are interested in, you can continue. If they are not interested in, they can stop your speech. They will need time to digest information too so you can split your speech to some parts which will be taught to those people at different times.
Yes, keep it simple stupid like they say. I try this method most time. What is see with it is that it works sometimes for a category of people at other times it doesn't work. Remember that despite them being your relatives, family and friends some of them are also professionals. I come at them from the angle of their professional jargon and try to fit it into the message I am trying to convey. One mistake I made earlier was try to force them to accept my knowledge and teachings what I do now is that I lay the facts bare for them and leave it out there as a choice for them to choose from.
