Recent Bitcoin Silence Could Be Golden for Investors

Quote
So is the next bitcoin parabolic rise about to begin? It appears so, but the digital currency must surpass $990 to confirm this.

In the meantime, breakouts above the March reversal point of $300 will hint that the lows of the contracting pattern off the parabolic highs of late 2013 are in place. Breaking above the November 2014 reversal point of $449 will increase the odds, as well. Then, only the March 2014 reversal high near $700 will stand in the way of a run on $990 and even higher prices.

If the rest of the Decision Support Engine sets up perfectly, then the recommended action will be to buy, buy, buy!

Until either $300 is broken or the Decision Support Engine signals a trade, investors could begin accumulating a position following a break of January's low near $153 and then buy aggressively into any test of $100, plus or minus $10. This is the September 2013 low, where the second parabolic rise started.

Just tried it and it's really fun to play! I noticed a couple of crashes and some pauses in between the puzzle levels, other than that it's sweet! Smiley

Why btc-e ever is over all the markets? (2usd+)

Low volume does that sometimes. Also arbitrage may not be able to catch up too soon there - other exchanges are faster.

Seems somebody decided to rev up the engines... The show is happening on Stamp IMHO.

Adopting BTC as national currency would be suicide for Greece. Their problem is not that the Euro inflation is too high, but it is too low. Bitcoin is deflationary in the long term, so their debts would explode, when BTC price rises.

That would be contrary to the aforementioned Gresham's Law. I'd indulge you to read it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gresham%27s_law

The undervalued currency would (in this case) be the EUR. That means the debt in EUR will be lowered as the BTC would go up and finally eliminated when BTC reaches a high rate. Such an experiment is -of course- non applicable on a country under a sovereign coalition, so we can only assume here (both me and you) what we *think* it will happen.

You could also be right and me just typing nonsense here. Smiley

Thanks for the link, quite interesting lecture. My conclusion is that we talked about two different things: Gresham's Law is driven by the public, while the official legal tender is issued by more or less state-controlled institutions. It may well be possible that the greece public will adapt BTC as an unofficial currency for everyday use.

Yanis Varoufakis has an opinion regarding Bitcoin though. The following article is more than 2 years old and I am sure it has already been posted here. But maybe someone finds it interesting:

http://yanisvaroufakis.eu/2013/04/22/bitcoin-and-the-dangerous-fantasy-of-apolitical-money/

Your conclusion is right; Bitcoin cannot be issued by Greek Govt. (like i.e. Drachma). The idea though, is to legalize its use as a second currency and let Gresham's law take over. I know about Varoufakis thesis on the subject but it seems he somehow changed his ideas from 2013:
1. http://yanisvaroufakis.eu/2014/02/15/bitcoin-a-flawed-currency-blueprint-with-a-potentially-useful-application-for-the-eurozone/
2. http://www.grreporter.info/en/varoufakis_advisor_singaporean_bitcoin_company/12732

Look, we're chasing dragons here. I know what I'm proposing is beyond the wildest imagination of the most insane speculator here (NLC?  Grin ) but; that's what we are here for... right? Smiley

The real question here is "will they let us use it?"

if you think you have to ask permission you are enslaved beyond belief.
either you fuck the power or it will fuck you.

True story. I too believe (and expressed my opinion publicly here) that BTC would've been the perfect solution for Greece's problem. If you incorporate a non-inflationary currency as a "second" together with the inflationary one, its destiny will be to gain ascendancy through superiority over the "first" one (Gresham's law). The thing is, you simply can't "decide" for yourself if you're part of the EU prison. We know that, they know that; and everybody keep silence before the people know too.

Bitcoin is the ultimate "game over" for ANY other currency if a country decides to incorporate it. I don't expect that "little Greece" will have the strength for such a decision.

Let 'greece' sort out its problems by itself. Crypto is about personal freedom, private property and free trade, not centralized fictions/schemes/scams.

AFAICS, Greece (and any country) is a part of TPTB plan and plays a major role within the USD/EUR & Bond prices. If it were not for Greece, another one should have taken its role. I personally made my choice since some time in 2011...

EUR/USD is $1.11

Yesterday it was $1.12

more interesting volatility?

Greece...

Question is when they will discover BTC  Smiley

Edit: I see Merkel said week € is better for reforms and FX market reacted.

We already have. The real question here is "will they let us use it?" I don't think it will be so easy... Besides everybody knows that IMF is the one who doesn't want the deal. When everything is settled, they invent something new to lead the negotiations to a new dead end. IMF is there for a reason... Wink

Hello,
I have a nasty problem:
I keep getting the following error when trying to transfer some 5000 MAX to Cryptsy exchange: Maxcoin error.  Transaction too large

I tried to build a totally new wallet. On different machines. The problem stays the same.
Any ideas ?

Dan

It occurred to me once too. I had to split the transactions to chunks of 500 if I recall correctly. Don't worry about the fees, it will remain the same since it's a % of the total lot.

Cheers.

The closest thing to antigravity up until now has been presented sometime in 1996 by mr Eugene Podkletnov based on the Bose-Einstein effect applied over a spinning superconductor. The aforementioned experiment was very popular at the time and even managed it to the space.com as an article which was later removed.

Quote
In the 1980s, Ning-Li – a world renowned scientist predicted that if a time-varying magnetic field were applied to superconductor ions trapped in a lattice structure, the ions would absorb enormous amounts of energy. Confined in the lattice, the ions would begin to rapidly spin, causing each to create a minuscule gravitational field.

It wouldn’t actually be an anti-gravity machine’ it would, however, be exerting an attractive or repulsive force on all matter and would therefore be pretty close to an impossible machine.

Dr Ning Li, working in UAH’s Centre for Space Plasma and Aeronomic Research has recently been working at UAH on an ‘artificial’ gravitational field made inside a container made of superconducting material.

After mr Podkletnov has published his article, there was a huge interest from the Scientific community that pretty much lasted up to 2000s (I was after some results at the time as a researcher). Unfortunately, everything was stopped after the experiment ''allegedly'' never managed to repeat itself apart from the initial experiment. Funnily enough though:

Quote
Podkletnov and his team promptly submitted their work to one of the leading physics journals in the world, the Holland Journal of Physics, called Physica C. The paper not only survived the scrutiny of peer review, but was published back in 1992. In 1995, the Max Planck Institute of Physics did a follow up study, and was able to confirm the results. Surprisingly, or perhaps not so surprisingly, both the initial research and the Planck Institute confirmation were virtually ignored by the media in the United States.

Some other time, I may be in the mood to talk to you about some other experiments that had promising effects (ie: Hall effect thruster or ionocrafts) but I'm sure you can do a research for yourselves; and certainly don't reach the glamour of mr Podkletnov's achievement.

I have also just started using "The List". Lets see how smooth my life becomes. I just copy-paste the list in the OP.. is that it?

Yes. That's about it. You can also add this list at the bottom of yours if you wish to have more in there that I've not included. The process is described with direct links in the OP.

Cheers.

I think Gavin & Devs should meet at 8MB Blocks with at halving block since Blockstream's side chains are here now to assist.

I also like the idea of looking at 1 minute blocks with 1 MB in the future.

When there's will, there's a solution. Gavin should stay with what he's doing best; programming. Sometimes your silence says more than your mouth does and it's far more persuasive. There are far better solutions than a "I decide this and it's non negotiable". I truly liked the guy; maybe he had enough and wants out. This is a perfect way to leave IMHO and nobody says a word...
