Microsoft looking to public blockchains (Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin) for potential use in DDI (Distributed Digital Identity) solutions:
https://cloudblogs.microsoft.com/enterprisemobility/2018/02/12/decentralized-digital-identities-and-blockchain-the-future-as-we-see-it/

THIS

its becoming more interesting to me the use of BIG public blockchains for data integrity, just like how factom builds software for companies to anchor data on to the bitcoin blockchain I think other companies or groups could do the same in their own way.

point is that the strongest chains will be seen as valuable networks, Litecoin's chain is obviously a great candidate

I dont know much about coinpoker...

but how are projects like this going to relate to....say a decentralized poker room that doesnt even dabble in fiat at all?

its a long way down the pipeline but there are projects being worked on ETH that have a vision for a decntralized poker...

843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: February 13, 2018, 04:13:58 PM
Article out on coindesk today for ETC, airdrop coming, price action could resemble NXT when it had the ignis airdrop

looks like could be a beginning of fast bull trend, especially with this article coming out, be ready for some volatility.
844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: February 12, 2018, 09:43:03 PM
What exchange should we get this from? I like what the project is offering

Trades on poloniex, bittrex and bitZ if your in japan...also trades on cryptopia but volume is minimal and you would be paying a premium.

Remember to not hold large amounts on an exchange

How much GIS work is actually incorporated in this project? I have GIS experience..
846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LBRY.IO - DICUSSION THREAD on: February 12, 2018, 09:10:25 PM
Again the same problem with LBC, price went to ATH, and new coins dumped on the market. It is as if this will never get big because of the short nearsightedness of some.

Its because of their completely ludicrous inflation rate. Its insane how much this coins supply has been inflated. Look at the bitcoin/LBC chart. It will never reach the levels it did a few years ago because of the massive coin supply increase. I love the platform and I think this project will do great but you are much better off holding bitcoin than LBC. Your investment will continue to de value as the coin supply is schedule to continue inflating at a fast rate

The block rewards was highest at the beginning and has a slow decrease in the block reward over time, there are NO halvings, which was one of the things Jeremy made an emphasis on early on. This is why the bitcoin chart looks the way it does.

So the supply schedule is actually deflating since block reward is decreasing, expect the value to slooowwlly increase INDEPENDENT of all other market factors.
847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LCC] Litecoin Cash | SHA256 LTC fork @ block 1371111 | 10:1 claim ratio on: February 12, 2018, 04:20:57 PM
What about Trezor guys, will our Trezor stored LTC be able to claim LCC?

It was such a pain in the ass to claim bitcoin cash from trezor when it forked, so even if they do support (which i doubt) I wouldnt use it.

Its really simple guys just make sure you have the private key of the wallet where all your litecoin is at the time of the forking block...after that block you can move your litecoin to a separate address if your worried about importing a private key....your litecoin cash will still be associated with the private key you had at the time of the fork.

I know its tempting to try and get your LCC right at the time of the fork, especially if your trying to sell fast. but i encourage people to wait to claim to avoid any potential issues.
848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: Dragonchain Token Sale on: February 12, 2018, 03:51:44 PM
Dragonchain price has surged since it's launch. Any particular reason for that? Where the roadmap milestones can be found?

The price went up because it was seriously undervalued, and still is in my opinion.

https://dragonchain.com/roadmap/

undervalued schmundervalued........everyone says the coin their holding is undervalued....also everyone says whole market is over valued

one thing i have learned - NO ONE knows how to put an estimated value on a crypto-currency, they havent discovered their true value yet

which shouldnt be discouraging, you could be right it could be way undervalued or the contrary....i still believe we may not have a clue as to how disruptive crypto can be
849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burstcoin | Efficient HDD Mining | New Version 1.3.6 | Assets | CFs on: February 12, 2018, 03:11:30 PM
People are making it seem like burst isnt profitable to mine anymore with the price being what it is...also i think that the distribution is almost over too right? only like a couple more years of mining?

its a shame, I think HDD could really have a place within crypto, i dont understand why there are not any forks or clones of burst, HDD space could easily be plotted, mined with and then still retain its value as simple storage...

anyone know of any other coins that have HDD mining?
850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ¤ DMD Diamond 3.0 | Scarce ¤ Valuable ¤ Secure | PoS 3.0 | Masternodes 65% on: February 12, 2018, 03:08:57 PM
Dear Diamond Cloud Mining participants,

The Cloud started in September 2014 as a free service for a few core supporters of DMD to conveneintly accumulate coins without the need to constantly monitor markets and setting up loud and enegry intensive mining rigs.

From the beginning it was meant to be a convenience and network support service only. However, a few years later Diamond Cloud Mining has grown to the size that goes beyond its original scope as it accommodated for the needs of many more people than originally anticipated. With the recent astronomical rise of interest in cryptocurrencies and profit generating services in particular we saw the numbers of new members signing in soaring significantly and came to conclusion that the service cannot operate in the current shape and form.

Over the years, DMD Diamond Cloud Mining brought nothing but profits to all those who participated in this supportive action of the Diamond network. With todays notice we stop accepting new members and buying Cloud Mining shares is no longer possible. From now on the only avaliable service will be Diamond Multipool while any BTC that is sent to the Cloud Mining service will be automatically converted to DMD.

Furthermore, the structure of the service and the way it operates has to change significantly, so it's capable to effectively manage such great numbers of participants, we have no choice but to start fresh. This means a complete soft-shutdown of DMD Diamond Cloud Mining, soft means it will run until every person who donated BTC will see green numbers. Shutdown meam if you far in green you will no longer recieve payouts while those who are still behind will keep recieveing rewards until that happens.  No single user will be left behind.

As the service is being phased out we will be looking into ways of forming a new service that would be better suited for the mainstream crypto environment and not only a small scale operation. As the market matures it requres different approaches and solutions and that what we would be researching in the coming months.

We want to thank everyone who put trust in us over all these years and supported the network. It was a great experience and pleasure to help so many people getting their hands on precious DMD Diamonds. However, don't forget about us and stay tuned as the future is going to be bright.

Kind regards,

Helmut Siedl
(aka Cryptonit)

If u have questions regarding ur cloud account email cloud@bit.diamonds
and tell me ur registered dmd address
but basically for now in first stage if ur well above 150% return that explains why ur account is shut down (set to ~1 share with minus bonus shares)
the 150% might adapt in future deepending on how well the liquidation of cloud funds and final payouts work out
u can expect the soft shutdown run for multiple months until finished

Thanks for the transparency , as always.

Invested way back in 2014/2015 and easily made ROI, always thought it was a smart mechanism to support the price of DMD, look forward to new things in the future
851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LCC] Litecoin Cash | SHA256 LTC fork @ block 1371111 | 10:1 claim ratio on: February 11, 2018, 04:56:32 AM
Any idea if this will be supported by Coinbase at all? I am not very familiar with Litecoin wallets, but I checked https://litecoincore.org/ and it re-directed me to https://litecoin.org/ (where there is a downloadable version for Mac). Would this wallet work as well? Thanks!

I highly doubt it....

One thing that is interesting though is all the bitcoin forks though, could coinbase somehow be in some sort of consumer obligation to honor everyone's bitcoin gold, bitcoin god, super bitcoin ect ect ect

JWL wallet have no active nodes on Alcurex.
Let me know if there is any.

Unfortunately I don't think there is any, from what I can tell this coin has been abandoned.

Typical story...original developers took the money and ran, then a community member tried to revive and take control of the project but inevitably didn't have enough resources to save the coin.

Whats crazy to me is that the game ConquerHeros is still running....pro4never is probably still in business
853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: February 09, 2018, 05:40:21 PM
I always thought that factom would overtake Decred but it turned to be something else entirely! Why factom has been stuck on so low for so long is outta my mind. The price will stay their unless the devs outperform and bring something lucrative but no updates from them!

They are on Phase 4 of their implementation of IOT security for the department of homeland security....they have recieved (I think) 4 separate grants from them.

Its one thing to do an ICO and collect a lot of crypto from the general public but to get a grant from the government is saying something, Factom may be one of the only blockchain protocols in the world that is actively being cooperated with government (iota also i believe).

There are so many reasons to be bullish on factom i could shill all day...IMO some of the best investments in crypto are protocol related projects like factom, ZRX, REP ect ect..

DYOR and look around but i have read on multiple crypto related investment funds that protocol coins have the most potential.
854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RIPIO CREDIT NETWORK [RCN] Token Sale Opens on 17th of October! on: February 09, 2018, 05:28:01 PM
John McAfee, the big guy in cryptocurrency space is recommending RCN:
https://twitter.com/officialmcafee/status/957698655712108545

He also recommended Factom, which interestingly enough is ANOTHER blockchain project that Tim Draper has invested in....just follow Drapers money around and invest where he invest and you will probably do really well with your crypto investments.

Litecoin Cash, what would be the price in USD if the fork happens? I have 2 Litcoin in exchange, can I leave them there or would it have to put in a wallet windows?

No one will know exactly what the price will be but expect it to be a small price, in the $10's of dollars not $100's, since the distribution will be 10-1 per litecoin you hold it will bring litecoin cash's supply WAY higher than litecoin....high supply = lower price.

I would bet they get atleast 1 exchange to honor the fork, but to be the safest you should get your coins to a wallet you control like exodus or litecoin electrum, a wallet where you can find your private key.
856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LCC] Litecoin Cash | SHA256 LTC fork @ block 1371111 | 10:1 claim ratio on: February 09, 2018, 03:38:17 PM
So if I understand correctly the intentions behind this fork, they are mostly to get people use there old miners since there are no choices in top 100 coins for SHA256 algo? And you are creating this fork to easily get placed into top 100 using somebody else's credibility? Wow...!

If you think you can get there, get there on your own. This is anyway a brand new coin and has nothing to do, absolutely nothing, with LTC.

Would you rather them just glossy up a nice ANN and ask for 40million in an ICO where there is literally no working product yet??

There are choices for sha256 but they are few and far between for old miners....would you rather mine a litecoin fork where there are already established holders and code base or mine a coin that hasnt been updated in years?

I cant believe the sentiment in here given all the bitcoin forks we have seen in the past year...one litecoin fork and people freak out. why fuss about free coins??
857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BWK] BULWARK | NO ICO | Masternodes | Accelerated PoW | Seesaw PoS/MN on: February 09, 2018, 03:30:21 PM
Guys, the wallets are still down on exchanges because there was a mandatory wallet update, don't worry your transactions will eventually go through just be patient.

The devs have reached out to cryptopia to enable deposits/withdraws again, at the moment its out of our hands.

Everyone should notice this little spike we had in the price while the wallets were locked...supply and demand....no coins hitting the exchange and price goes up.....makes for the easiest swing trade, it can work with almost all coins.
858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: February 08, 2018, 09:26:53 PM
Also, one more thing.  It is absolute BS that the Youtube Promoters are under fire about this.  They all lost their money too and were affected just as much me and anyone else that was using Bitconnect.  This is as stupid as the first story that came out about someone sewing McDonalds for making them fat. Its stupid because that person is blaming McDonalds for their own failure to have self discipline not to eat junk food. Yet they won the case and the world no longer has super size as an option.

So people are blaming the youtube promoters knowing full well they were taking on a risk. Craig Grant, Trevon James, and CryptoNick all lost way over $2 Million between all of them and ppl want to sew them? They advertised to us about doing Bitconnect.  We did it, but guess what: The Bitconnect user created their account, sent Bitcoin, bought Bitconnect and then 'Accepted' the lending contract to lend out Bitconnect.  The Youtube promoters didn't do any of that so for God SAKES PEOPLE, take some responsibility and leave the Youtube Promoters alone.

THE ONLY REASON PPL ARE BLAMING THE YOUTUBE PROMOTERS IS BECAUSE DEEP DOWN THEY KNOW THEY FKED UP AND GOT THEMSELVES IN A HORRIBLE SITUATION.  BUT THEY SEE THE YOUTUBE PROMOTERS HAVING SO MUCH MONEY STILL SO THEIR TRYING TO TAKE A BITE OUT OF THEM. The real truth is people aren't facing the fact that they made a bad decision and are dealing with a huge loss just like myself.  My advice is to blame yourself, learn from your mistake, and move on. If you can't face your problems head on, then grow TF up.

I disagree, the promoters most of the time only showed the potential gains and not the potential risk, and in general just enticed newbies to invest in something they didn't understand.

That Jedi Knight guy was making videos telling people bitconnect was the perfect hedge against bitcoin!....4 months ago i literally had to block all bitconnect related videos on youtube because i couldnt stand how people were promoting it.
859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: February 08, 2018, 09:11:41 PM
I don't know if that masternodes' question deserve an answer, however, ETC has no masternodes, it's not a masternodes coin in any way and I don't know why you asked for masternodes.
The difference between eth and etc is in principles, etc want to stay immutable forever and ever and as decentralized as possible, eth isn't immutable since the DAO fork happened. ETC has maximum cap of 210,000,000 coins, ETH has no cap since it will go full PoS after casper upgrade, and other differences which are explained better if you join ethereum calssic slack or discord channel.
Dapps are already up and running on etc chain, this maybe will help you https://www.reddit.com/r/EthereumClassic/comments/7n93ue/is_there_a_list_of_dapps_currently_being/ .
"Why is Calisto needed to implant side chains?" The answer is: Callisto is a side chain

callisto will be a side chain so it will in a sense have its own chain, and it will be a cold POS? i get confused with side chains, do they share transaction history of the previous chain?

I've not that kind of knowledge, it's better if you ask on ETC's discord/slack. What I know is, it's a separate chain with smart contract's based PoS and it can interact with ETC chain thanks to cross-chain transactions.
I think that if ETC is clogging (like we saw in ETH so many times), unconfirmed transaction will be redirected to Callisto? If I understood it correctly it's a great solution for scalability (it's an on chain solution, not like Raiden and Lightning which are off chain)

Wow thats really interesting, the cold POS is unique but i also really like the idea of scaling ETC too....because you're right ETH has had so many
issues of late from scaling.
860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LCC] Litecoin Cash | SHA256 LTC fork @ block 1371111 | 10:1 claim ratio on: February 08, 2018, 08:52:06 PM
I think that LCC is the brainchild of bitmain like Bitcoin cash and guess who dominates SHa256 algo obviously it's bitmain and that's why they have changed  the algorithm from scrypt to sha256 because usually the forks are of the same algorithm apart from some exception like Bitcoin Gold but that too have a reasoning behind it that is  to avoid ASICS. And I think that the new model V9 antminer of 4 Ths launched by bitmain is also somehow linked to this coin launch.

This is a really good point although i wouldnt go so far as to speculate that bitmain is behind the project, but it does say something to me that they changed it to sha256...

there could be some serious interest there and this coin could do well with just that small mining niche..

Devs I dont fully understand replay protection, can you explain a little bit about it and if it will be used in this fork?
