Someone please explain to me how having a Facebook account makes a person less likely to be committing fraud?
Who says it does. Maybe they just want your FB info for marketing? I bet if I had your social connections I could identify several hot leads. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif)

And, as stated before, back up the wallet.dat file before doing anything else. That file has your bitcoins in it. As long as you have that file, you have a solvable problem. (assuming it is not encrypted) Loose that file and you do not have any chance of recovery.

1) Connect a social network
Oh great. I'm in an identity theft ring! That counts, right?

Sure, anything you say Jon, it is best to humor a weak and pathetic child such as yourself.
I've been called a child but I am far from it. In the past month, I've been working 40+ hour weeks. I bought over 3 acres of land in cash. I have a 6 month supply of food and ammunition setup. I still have savings from my bitcoin, silver and gold investments to spare. I depend only on myself. I am my own master. What do my combantants espouse? Subordination to your government and your superiors. When things go down the shitter, you go crying to your government for help. You depend on your parent -- the government. You authoritarian liberals, statists and welfare/social security dependents are the children. You want me to be of the same lowly status. I refuse to be a part of it. If being an adult is being a cooperative, submissive, law-abiding citizen, then I refuse to be an adult. I will only stand under myself. Peace. Good job on investing in land, that has a good chance of panning out. As for the "prepper" stuff, good luck. It will just be a matter of time before everything is taken from you by someone stronger. I feel like I know quite a bit about survival. I taught wilderness/survival skills full time for 12 years. What i learned is that it is mostly a fantasy. Luck is your only hope.

The problem is that never once in all of history has a horoscope predicted anything. To me this a good reason to assume that they never will.

I think that is a good primer for the average windows user. It might be interesting to elaborate on examples of how privacy has helped humanity. So many people imagine how it could help criminals and forget how many people live under true tyranny. Right now people in Syria are organizing to assist others in getting out of the country while under fire. They are one facebook post away from being tortured to death.

osmosis I am confused.
You say Mr. Kaye will make a video for $2K and that sounds great I would gladly donate towards a top notch video explaining the merits of Bitcoin.
Then you go on to say we need to create the audio and talk about grabbing sound clips. $2K for a seemless video (something similar to what is recorded at the link) is a great deal. $2K for some animation which clashes horribly with soundbites is worthless IMHO.
The goal would be a professional seemless top notch video. Maybe I am not understanding what is proposed?
I met with osmosis this morning and got the short version of this project. My understanding is that the audio/video that would be used in the final product would be edited in with matched animation. Using snippets from bitcoin talks given around the world. but I'll let him explain his vision.

Of course I don't know, But it stands to reason that if supply remains constant and the block reward is halved the price should approximately double.
I'd like to think this is the case, and I'm quite certain that people who understand how mining works would view it as such, but I think the value may depend on how quickly people are looking for large quantities that will affect the value in relation to the rate at which the coins are produced. Of course I don't know, But it stands to reason that if supply remains constant and the block reward is halved the price should approximately double.
If people are set on buying X dollars worth of coins every day regardless of dollar price then a double makes sense (with some other probably false assumptions). But if people want X coins it all depends on their elasticity of demand and it could be a much bigger increase. I think the first is much closer to the truth, but I think that in addition to a supply decrease we'll experience a demand increase over the next year (and the next and next and next...). Good points. I don't say these things with great confidence. We will be entering untested water when the reward halves.

...The moment someone starts to mess with my savings, I'm leaving this boat - and so will do many big players...
Yep. I would sell my BTC that day and move on to real estate, art, and my angel investing efforts.

I'm confused about why you would not do a bank / wire transfer if you are buying large amounts? I am not calling you a scammer or anything, but you must be able to understand everyones concerns.

Forget right wing and left wing, the bias is about sensationalism. They will tell you what ever story leads to more advertising revenue. And who will stop them? The news casters? Not a chance. They are chosen based on boob size and tooth straightness. Outside of "The news hour" and to a lesser extent BBC news, there is no legitimate TV news. The loss of real news sources has to be one of the greatest current threats to our democracy. ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif)

+1 People jump to the story they want to hear instead of shutting the f#<! up for a moment and waiting for some facts to come out.

[derail] As bleak as that graph looks, It could actually be much worse. All it would take is an atomic WW3 to send those lines straight down. No one like to talk about it, but this planet is just about used up (assuming current trends). There are no more lands to discover and the population is exponentially growing. Enjoy it while you can. How is it capped. Has the inventor set a limit or something? Sorry I am new to this.
The number of bitcoins produced is set in the code of the software. There will never be more than 21 million. And welcome fellow peer! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Easter is all about Mithra and pagan spring fertility rituals. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I'll give you that one, but Christmas is... Largely Mithra again. He was the template for much of what became Jesus. It is also similar to religious practices of the worship of Ra "the sun god". It is really about the shortest day of the year. Remember the Romans had a big empire and when they decided on Christianity they had a lot of beliefs to accommodate.
