861  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who/what will fuel the next bull run? on: November 14, 2018, 08:34:20 AM
In my perception, the next bull run will be initiated by a mass migration. I can observe people getting fruestrated with FUD about bitcoin that now they are looking for a more useful coin to transact with. The second in line ready to take on BTC is the forked version -- BCH. BCH had been on a good pricing lately and this is slowly catching the attention of crytomigrants. If this will continue to make a roar, then we might be seeing a slow death for BTC.

BCH has had the worst time among altcoins as it has been getting dumped hard all year long and it has not yet stopped. recently there is a new airdrop for it called bitcoin SV which they are going to give away free money to whoever holds any BCH that is why there was a small price pump since people were rushing to buy it to get that free money airdrop. otherwise there is no "catching attention" here! it is still the same useless altcoins as it has always been.
862  Economy / Speculation / Re: CSW's "hash wars" impact on BTC price? on: November 14, 2018, 08:09:08 AM
Will this be a non event or speculators will try to get some BTC out of it from noobs that fall into it?

bitcoin speculators have never shown any interest in mining and hashrate so far. they didn't even care about the bitcoin cash itself and the hashrate that it stole from bitcoin. so I don't see why they should care about fork of fork of bitcoin and what that does!

it is funny that I all I can think of is all these empty blocks Cheesy
so far we have 32 MB block space for BCH that is 99% empty and now when it forks to a new coin we will have 2 set of empty blocks that nobody uses at all... it is like an abandoned house of horror....
863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One YEAR of GRIEF LOOSING BITCOIN on: November 14, 2018, 07:11:03 AM
joining this forum is not something that can prevent you from being scammed! in fact many people have been scammed because they joined bitcointalk. and there are many different forms of scam, it is not just obvious ones when someone tricks you to give them your money and they run away with it. one of the most common ways of scamming people here is advertising already pumped shitcoins and getting newbies to invest in them so that they can dump on them. that is also an indirect way of taking their money!
864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin still involves too much to deceptive behavior! on: November 14, 2018, 06:58:26 AM
bitcoin isn't involved in anything. bitcoin is just a currency like any other currency in the world and acts as a tool that happens to be used for a variety of reasons, most of which are good and legal but it also happens to be used for illegal activities too. the more popular bitcoin gets the more users will use it and usage of it for both legal and illegal activities will increase just like any other currency.
you just happened to stumble upon the negativity more than anything else because your source is news sites.
865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy 10th Anniversary, Bitcoin! on: November 14, 2018, 06:51:39 AM
your big ass picture is false and misleading though. it is showing bitcoin price growth over the years while talking about the total market capitalization of all the shitcoins in the market!!! and that number ($200 billion) is 95% fake if you exclude bitcoin's market capitalization because of the thousands of useless tokens and fork coins that were  created last year which bloated the market cap with fake numbers.
866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARE YOU GOING TO BE DECEIVED BY THE CURRENT STATE OF THE MARKET? on: November 14, 2018, 06:47:30 AM
no one is selling bitcoin, no one is buying bitcoin,
The daily BTC/USD volume is only $200m

haha, you just contradicted yourself.
that volume means $200 million worth of bitcoin is being sold daily and $200 million worth of bitcoin is being bought daily. so that many people are buying and selling bitcoin, it is just that there are equal forces by these two opposing sides that is keeping the price stable at the moment Smiley
867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are non-Segwit nodes, full nodes? on: November 13, 2018, 09:33:45 AM
sometimes definitions are not opinion based! there is a clear definition and it can not be changed. and that definition for a full node according to bitcoin.org is this:
"A full node is a program that fully validates transactions and blocks."
an old node can not "fully" validate transaction and blocks so it should not be called a full node. although since we have no other word for these types of nodes we have no choice but call them full nodes. we may call them "old full nodes" or something like "limited full node".

But is that not simply a case of updating the technology and not updating the terminology along with it?  If someone invents a flying car, do we suddenly have to stop calling the conventional ones "cars" because the flying cars can utilise extra space that the conventional ones can't?

although this is not a good example but if we also remove roads so that the conventional cars could no longer be used in transportation then you can't call them cars any more. they become obsolete.
868  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to buy! Bearish trend seem over. on: November 13, 2018, 09:05:14 AM
I have been following the trend for the pass three months as bitcoin hoving within $6700 and $6200. It seems the bear has no momentum to pull bitcoin down further and the bull are waiting for reasons that bitcoin should go up. The bottom is here and if you want to be among the next bitcoin's billionaires now is the right time to make that investment decision.

Just because the bears can't pull the market further, doesn't mean we have to go up. The price has been steady for a while, so neither the bears or bulls have control. Eventually one will take over, there's no definitive reason it can't be the bears.

yeah but the difference is that the bears had their time for a many months this year and they pulled the price down nearly 70% and made their profit that way. there is no more room left for them to pull it any lower than this so it is time for the bulls to take over again. not to mention that bitcoin is always on a bull run even if it takes some steps back temporarily.
869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are non-Segwit nodes, full nodes? on: November 13, 2018, 08:22:31 AM
From other discussion thread, that depends on your definition of full-node

sometimes definitions are not opinion based! there is a clear definition and it can not be changed. and that definition for a full node according to bitcoin.org is this:
"A full node is a program that fully validates transactions and blocks."
an old node can not "fully" validate transaction and blocks so it should not be called a full node. although since we have no other word for these types of nodes we have no choice but call them full nodes. we may call them "old full nodes" or something like "limited full node".
870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop calling Bitcoin ''stable'' it's not. on: November 13, 2018, 08:13:24 AM
well bitcoin is stable! so you can call it "stable" but calling it stable doesn't mean it will not start being volatile again. and I believe that is what most people who call it "stable" mean. I don't think anybody has the delusion of thinking this is it, and we will stay at $6300 forever. everyone knows that the rise will start soon and we will see the same thing as we always do.
and don't forget that this is not the first time bitcoin became "stable". the last long time was back in 2015 when price was stuck at $220 for a long time. and bitcoin was "stable" back then too.
871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - the future "stable coin" on: November 13, 2018, 08:06:58 AM
The investors feel that Bitcoin is a more stable coin thats why quickly sold their coin to invest but the price is discouraging as it stands now but the market will come up again in due time.

I guess it is an intrinsic & reasonable action which has to be made in a very short time. Regarding Tether, I am looking down to it as their only have one advantage which is they are the first mover, but more disadvantage.

There is no doubt that the market will come up again, but in a long-term view, Tether & those new stable coins pegged with fiat currency are pseudo-proposition, and the only opportunity is for bitcoin in the future.[/b][/color]

(stop using blue and bold it is annoying!)
was Tether really the first stable coin created? I don't really remember but I think there were other stable coins very similar to Tether if not sooner but they were around alongside each other. it is just that Tether has the benefit that it is created by the same company as Bitfinex and having a big exchange behind it made it big not it being first.
872  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happen to bitcoin in this coming year end of 2018? on: November 13, 2018, 07:59:39 AM
the bitcoin system is still developing. This maybe struggle or challenge for the bitcoin system. In this year 2018 will be one of the basis for the possible outcome of bitcoin. What do you think of this system? Will Bitcoin achieve another milestone of achievement this year or will not? What could really happen to bitcoin before 2018 year end?

there is always struggle in any systems and there is always improvements to make it better. that will never stop or change for bitcoin or for any other system, company, product,...
as for bitcoin price it seems like the market is starting to get ready for the rise and with the positive news that keeps coming out we can expect the rise to start soon. but you shouldn't expect anything big at first. we will start by slow rises then follow it up with big jumps like last year and eventually we will end up with the same situation in a bigger bubble (possibly above $100k) and another drop and stable phase like this.
873  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why not use poloniex!! Be careful people! on: November 12, 2018, 11:17:49 AM
I am starting to feel that exchanges have some sort of expiration date!
think about it, in the past we have had lots of good exchanges that had no issues. Mt Gox, Cryptsy, Bittrex, Btter, Bitfinex,... they all were functioning properly and nobody had any issues. then their expiration date came and they all scammed their users and ran away. of course not all scams were that big to end up with closing the exchange but they got enough victims to be considered a huge scam.
874  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BEST TELEGRAM SIGNAL CHANNELS on: November 12, 2018, 11:12:16 AM
stop looking for "signal groups" they will only scam you and you will eventually be left with a lot of losses on your hands. instead try to learn how to trade on your own! why do you want others to tell you what to do with your money when you can make even more profit if you spend a little time gaining some trading experience on your own?
875  Economy / Speculation / Re: how will bitcoin reach one million dollars? on: November 12, 2018, 09:13:22 AM
going from $0.001 to $20000 was 1,999,999,900% rise. now you are arguing that 10000% rise is too much?! besides it has nothing to do with the percentage of the rise. when you look at the numbers like this of course you will be confused. instead you should look at it this way:
the cap is at 21 million bitcoin so there can't be any more. and there are billions of people around the world who are slowly adopting bitcoin and want a portion of it. as the supply remains fixed and the demand grows the price goes up with it. the fact is the unit that bitcoin has ever used is "satoshi" not "bitcoin"! and we should talk about 1 satoshi's price instead.
right now the adoption is less than 1% of the world  and as that grows the price goes up.
876  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to buy! Bearish trend seem over. on: November 12, 2018, 08:29:59 AM
The end of bear market can be declared with certainty only when we'll have a bullish trend for a longer period of time, like a few months.

of course it is always easier to talk about price, trends and speculation when we are looking at the history! for example it is easy to call $200 in 2015 the bottom and end of bear market now that you are looking at the charts of all the time that has passed!
but doing it later is not worth anything. it is worth something if you could call it a bottom and a "good time to buy" at the time when price was at $220. like calling it now that price is $6200+
877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ⚡⚡⚡ BITCOIN for Long-term investment ⚡⚡⚡ on: November 12, 2018, 08:03:21 AM
Trading and Hodling has finished for the bitcoin in my opinion. If you have some free money you can invest to the bitcoin and wait for the rise. But you should invest in big ammount of money, otherwise it would be worthless. The bitcoin price act likes a currency like euros or paunds. The price is not changes in last 7 months. Stucked between $6300-$6600 lines. So if you have big money invest and wait. But if not you should go to altcoin market..

investing A LOT of money in bitcoin is a stupid move unless you are a trillionaire who doesn't care about that much money! you should always invest what you can afford to lose and not think about making more profit and taking unreasonable risks.
at this point when bitcoin is at a stable price and has not that much room left for drops, is the best time to invest but bitcoin is still a risky investment.
878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin chose Proof-of-Work (PoW)? on: November 12, 2018, 07:45:21 AM
lot of other and better versions of consensus algorithms

you first have to prove that there exists a consensus algorithm that is actually better than PoW then discuss why bitcoin is not choosing that "better" algorithm.
so the real question here is "why do you think other consensus algorithms are better than PoW?"
I have been doing research on why Bitcoin is better than other cryptos and I came across many other algorithms for consensus that seems to be a bit better than PoW theoretically! The most important of them seems to be PoS.
PoS:
It gives power and voting rights based on Stake system.
It has no mining rewards which removes the ongoing war for mining the block earlier than any other miner.
It has lesser energy consumption for its functioning.

that is the problem with your question which happens to be a very common one these day! you always assume something is better because you only sought out minimal information about that alternative. but if you actually go deeper and look at both pros and cons of that alternative (in this case the consensus algorithm) you  can see that it is not "better"!

but of course if the only factor that you look at is the energy consumption then PoS obviously comes out on top! but is it just about energy consumption?
879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: HOW DO WE INCREASE THE VALUE OF CRYPTOCURRENCIES? on: November 12, 2018, 07:39:37 AM
Take a few million dollars and pump the coin to any planet you like.

a few millions? haha. you seem to have never checked the volume that some of the shitcoins have when they get pumped! it is more like a few thousands.
not to mention that OP is mainly talking about profit making although it may not be obvious from the things he said. and making profit is so easy when it comes to pump and dumping shitcoins. there are  coins that get pumped >1000% with 0.1-1BTC. it may seem like a small amount of profit but you should know that this is happening on a daily basis on a couple of different shitcoins. so the aggregated profit is huge.
880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: For those, who wait BTC to "skyrocket" again. on: November 12, 2018, 07:19:56 AM
the Tether nonsense FUD is starting to get too old. you should try coming up with some sort of new FUD to spread in hopes of a lower price so you can make short term profit from bitcoin.

https://www.ccn.com/tether-no-real-impact-on-bitcoin-price-university-researcher/

All FUD is nonsense. I would like the forum administration to be more strict against these kind of posts. The reason being that these kind of posts might appear in higher positions on Google because of the authority of this forum. At such, baseless FUD against crypto should be deleted.

it is a very good thing that the forum is sometimes filled with a lot of FUD like this!
it only proves that idiots exist and it helps everyone learn more about them. one thing that is very good about forums is that when you make a post it has a timestamp and it stays there for as long as that forum is alive! in this case you can see that this topic was posted 2 months ago and price has gotten stable and the volume is high showing accumulation. and soon enough you will see the rise and that proves the idiocy of the starter of this topic and anybody who believed him.

as a fun project you can always go back and look at old topics that were started very similar to this one. they all exist and if you search on google you will also find them. they all show the idiots throughout history who desperately tried spreading FUD like OP.
