861  Economy / Exchanges / Re: The crypto exchange best known for siding with Gary Gensler pushes 2024 launch on: December 24, 2023, 03:01:14 AM
CZ is a bad example of someone who wants to be the face or personality of cryptocurrencies, himself Justin Sun, so I have no problem if they are removed from their positions, and in the end central exchanges are subject to the control of the authorities, and I would be sorry if the Bisq programmers or any DEXs programmers were arrested.

We are not talking about being the face of the cryptospace. CZ, Justin Sun and much of the other founders of the cryptospace are husters and clowns. However, what they are not are real criminals very much similar to these bankers who will receive bailouts from the government using taxpayers' money during a crisis.

@Bitcoin_Arena. He is a hustler hehehee. Does being an ambassador for a small country give him diplomatic immunity?
862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: December 23, 2023, 05:30:00 AM
It appears that the oddsmakers are favoring Brock Purdy and Lamar Jackson as the leading MVP candidates. The odds imply that they have more confidence behind Purdy, however, will there be a chance that the winner of the regular season MVP might be decided in their next game on Monday night football? It might be, I reckon.

863  Economy / Exchanges / The crypto exchange best known for siding with Gary Gensler pushes 2024 launch on: December 23, 2023, 04:31:48 AM
This is only the beginning. The future of the cryptospace will not be for the community of small minnows like us. It will be again similar to traditional finance where it will be controlled only by our rulers.

The hustlers and the clowns of the cryptospace are being replaced by the real criminals. It is headshaking that some people cheered when CZ was forced to quit as Binance CEO. If they can do it to CZ, they can do it to anyone.

Justin Sun might be next to be forced to plead guilty for moneylaundering

The expanded licence in the US “will empower Prometheum to offer the first blockchain-enabled ecosystem capable of servicing the lifecycle of digital asset trading under the federal securities laws,” Aaron Kaplan, co-CEO of parent company Prometheum Inc., told DL News.

The SPBD licence “includes crypto but extends to any tokenised securities in the future,” he said. Kaplan expects investment firms, hedge funds, asset managers, and banks as clientele for the custodial platform.

Kaplan said the “unregulated exchanges” have struggled this year and he expects that to continue into 2024.

“The exchanges that launched their businesses prior to entering into compliance with federal securities laws will likely have a challenging time reverse-engineering their structures to meet SEC guidelines,” he said.

It appears the writer of this news article does not read between the lines hehehee. Luke Dashjr did not capitulate on his criticism on Ordinals. What Ocean Mining is only doing is it will recommend 3 block templates for their miners and let them decide what they want to use. I speculate that this is only the beginning. Luke Dashjr might have a roadmap already created to minimize Ordinals' effect on fees.

Sarcastic Luke

Bitcoin developer Luke Dashjr fought the rise of Ordinals, which he called "spam," but now his mining pool is allowing them.

A prominent Bitcoin Core developer and Ordinals critic, Luke Dashjr, may have had a change of heart about the NFT-like assets. Or at the very least, his company is moving beyond his own hardline stance around Ordinals.

With the update, Ocean says, miners can choose from three block template policy options: Ocean Recommended, focusing on what the company calls “real” financial transactions with minimal spam; Bitcoin Core with the “Ordisrespector” spam filter; and the unmodified Bitcoin Core, mirroring other pools with fewer financial transactions but more “spam”—meaning Ordinals and BRC-20 token transactions.

Bitcoin mining company Ocean has announced a change in its stance on Ordinals inscriptions, allowing miners to decide whether to process Bitcoin blocks containing non-financial transactions. Previously, the company prohibited such actions. This move comes as a surprise to many, given the company’s and Luke Dashjr’s hardline stance against Ordinals in the past.

dude he caved!  now even lass hashing power is filtering Ordinals...

there will be Ordinals in every block forever  Shocked

I very much disagree. Does this person look something similar to someone who has caved? He is not transforming himself to become Sam Bankman Fried only to cave. I am quite certain that Open Ocean's change in stance should make everyone begin to wonder what is Luke's plan.

865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: December 23, 2023, 02:48:33 AM
I disagree on your hotness issue argument. Similar to what you have speculated, Michelle Yeoh only won as the best actress because she is Asian. It might be again the same argument after the official announcement of each category if Lily Gladstone becomes the most favored nominee. She is an America native and she will be the first in history to win an oscar award for beat actress. The people behind the woke agenda might bribe and try to make this a reality, I reckon.
So if Lily Gladstone wins, it won't be because the jury likes her and her performance but because a so-called woke lobby bribed them? I hope you won't be a sore loser if you lose, because if you think the winners are actually chosen by a conspiracy, you shouldn't bet. People in the artistic and cinema industry are usually sensitive to minority issues and tend to share left-wing ideas, so they don't need to be bribed by a woke lobby to appreciate movies on these subjects IMO.

It cannot be implied that there will be bribes because a jury does not decide the winners hehehe. The winners are determined through votes from all of the members of the Academy of motion picture arts and sciences. It includes not only the actors and the directors. This includes writers, producers, sound technicians, cinematographers, art designers and other members.

Similar to what you have mentioned, people in the movie industry are sensitive to left wing ideas and minority issues. If these are the voters and if they follow a certain agenda for next year's awards then I speculate that Lily Gladstone might already be the winner.

In any case, I sent 1mbtc to your escrow address already hehehe.

866  Economy / Speculation / Re: Timely Halving Event and Bitcoin ETF a Positive Bombshell on: December 22, 2023, 04:28:16 AM
Arguments on the date when an ETF will be approved might be over. I reckon Blackrock's amendment and agreement on the SEC's demand for cash creation model assures that their application will be approved.

Congratulations, bitcoin might have the first spot ETF on January 15, 2024, Blackrock's next deadline.

Blackrock, the world’s largest asset manager, has yielded to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)’s preference for the cash creation model, instead of the in-kind model, for its spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF).

The asset manager filed an amendment to its spot bitcoin ETF filing on Monday. The amendment details that Blackrock’s Ishares Bitcoin Trust issues shares in baskets of 40,000 or integral multiples thereof, noting that “Baskets may be redeemed by the Trust in exchange for the cash proceeds from selling the amount of bitcoin corresponding to their redemption value.”

868  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Stablecoins are killing payment systems on: December 22, 2023, 02:51:56 AM
@OcTradism. Agreed, bitcoin is still better than these altcoins even after their attempts. However, the argument is on the maximalists attitude that everyone should use only bitcoin and no other coin. How can everyone presently send bitcoin cheaply if everyone used only bitcoin. Maximalists should also admit that altcoins have their use cases also.
869  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Stablecoins are killing payment systems on: December 22, 2023, 01:29:47 AM
@zasad@. Hehehe agreed. This is why altcoins were created because there are developers that want to create something that can do better than bitcoin. Fast transactions, more anonymity or smart contracts, these are being developed. However, the bitcoin maximalists will call them scams then they will tell you that the best coin is only bitcoin. They will cancel you if you disagree. A very head shaking behavior hehehe. How do we expect the whole cryptospace forward with only bitcoin?
870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: December 21, 2023, 05:32:15 AM
@ChiBitCTy. Agreed on the Browns and the Colts, however, not on the Vikings especially now Justin Jefferson is healthy. He and Addison will be difficult to defend for the Lions and the spread on +3.5 might be enough to win a bet. They are also playing in their home stadium.

On the the Patriots vs. the Broncos, what does everyone think of +6.5 for the Patriots? The Broncos cannot score +6 vs. the Patriots, I reckon.

Also the Chiefs -10 in Kansas against the Raiders might cover, I reckon.
871  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mixers - Are we the product? on: December 21, 2023, 04:50:50 AM
Instead, an illusion of privacy was promoted to clearnet users (that's us here in bitcointalk), while in fact our "cleaner" funds were used to bail out real criminals and terrorists. Because to a mixer, a clean bitcoin, is worth more than market value, so they were willing to overpay for it in the form of advertising. Come to think of it, the recent bust of Sinbad served as a reminder that mixers are in fact very traceable.
This is a very interesting theory.

Do you mean Mixers are in your theory used to replace bad money of criminals with good money from the innocent?

As in there is a pool of criminal money and every Mixing Transaction is pretty much,
Innocent sends 0.5 Bitcoin from legitimate source to Mixer
Mixer sends back 0.5 Bitcoin from criminal source to Innocent

And that they advertised on Bitcoin Talk so they could get rid of more criminal money while bringing in more Innocents?

I never thought of this.  If that is the case, ban Mixers.  But then how difficult is it to get Bitcoin from Innocents?  Bisq, Monero Atomic Swaps et cetera can all be ways of doing this.  A criminal with BILLIONS can open up a seemingly legitimate Blockchain Analysis tool particularly to artificially 'clean' their own criminal Bitcoin by bypassing the filters.  Or they could bribe already existing Blockchain Analysis companies to bypass the filters.

I do not think this is the case but interesting outlook.

Agreed. However, it might be a mistake to speculate if this is the case or not. We should be speculating on how high or how low is the possbility that this might be in our reality or not. If someone in the forum like @alani123 can think and speculate on something like this, it might also be very much possible that there are other people who have also thought about this before anyone of us in the forum.

I am not saying that this is presently the case, however, if much of these different mixers are owned by a moneylaundering ring, it might be possible.
872  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Stablecoins are killing payment systems on: December 21, 2023, 03:46:04 AM
Bitcoin is slow. Personally, I find it easier to use free transactions in the TRON ecosystem, which are confirmed in a few seconds, than to wait for confirmation in the Bitcoin ecosystem. Even these simple statistics tell us a lot.

That's the cost of decentralization

10 minutes isn't a lot if you are worried about decentralization and freedom. A swift can take many business days,  for example.

Otherwise,  you can just use visa. Most cards will even give you 1% cashback for every transaction you make, and they are instantaneous.

Bitcoin's goal is not speed or low cost, but freedom.
Yes, I myself always say that you have to pay for freedom, but not everyone is ready to pay that much for freedom. Sometimes it's easier to use a centralized stablecoin Smiley

https://mempool.space/tv

However, are the people who caused the fees to go very high paid the high fees for freedom? I reckon they paid them because they speculate that they will make much more money than they wasted on fees hehehe. It is not freedom, it is speculation and hype that caused a pump for demand to use bitcoin for NFTs and tokens.
873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder Vs Parker & Joshua Vs Wallin Boxing Mega Saudi card 23rd December on: December 21, 2023, 02:39:42 AM
@hilariousetc. Have Joshua and Wilder also agreed that their fight will again be in Saudi Arabia?

The skeptical me thinks that if Joshua and Wilder have already signed a contract and it is agreed to also be in Saudi Arabia then there might be some people that will make it quite certain that they will win their fights spectacularly with knockouts heheehehee.
874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: December 20, 2023, 03:58:38 AM
Sadly, I think above discussions about "hotness of issue" will decide winner for best actress. I'm Asian but last year's Oscar winner for best film was not deserving. I liked the movie but I think it won because it was Asian. Same as best actress. Michelle Yeoh did way better in old films but anyway. I guess I don't need to be afraid of offending anyone since I'm self-offending lol.

I disagree on your hotness issue argument. Similar to what you have speculated, Michelle Yeoh only won as the best actress because she is Asian. It might be again the same argument after the official announcement of each category if Lily Gladstone becomes the most favored nominee. News update.

If there are people in this forum who do not believe that there are corporate interests that are conspiring with politicians to ban bitcoin, this speech proves that it is not only a conspiracy theory. The congressmen and senators you vote into office do not work for you. They work for the real rulers. Also, very much similar to what has been said before, they want more and they want very little for you.

876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder Vs Parker & Joshua Vs Wallin Boxing Mega Saudi card 23rd December on: December 20, 2023, 02:16:49 AM

So far Parker 5:1 underdog against Wilder. Otto Wallin, almost 4:1 underdog. So that speaks that this is just a confidence boosting match.

With those odds, it seems like an easy fight for Wilder. The thing is, when Wilder struggles against his opponents, he tends to lose, and that has only happened against Fury. So, against Parker, I believe it could be an easy KO for Wilder. Despite being defeated by Fury, Wilder is making a comeback, and if he continues to improve his ranking, there's a good chance he'll make a strong return.

Looking ahead to Fury vs. Usyk, if Fury wins, both AJ and Wilder might be forced to fight the champion for another shot. If that happens, fans might not be as excited, given Wilder's previous losses to Fury. However, against AJ, it could be different as we haven't seen him fight Fury. Yet, according to the books, AJ appears to be an easy target for Fury. These are just possibilities for the future, so for more exciting bouts in the heavyweight division, let's hope Usyk can beat Fury, as things could become uncertain against AJ or Wilder.

The fans will certainly  also want Deontay Wilder vs. Anthony Joshua if they win on their own fights against Parker and Wallin hehehe. Make the winner of this challenge the champion. This will also hype their names and it will make them more deserving to challenge for the heavyweight championship.

Also, if Fury wins against Usyk, it would be boring to see another Fury vs. Wilder fight. A Fury vs. Joshua fight might also not be very exciting for the fans because Joshua lost to Usyk twice already.
877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: December 20, 2023, 01:47:46 AM
The Biden bannered team have already lost unless something huge unforseen event happens on the US politics.
Legally not allowing Trump to run was a good idea but they don't seem to have same level of influence on judiciary as they have on media.

Most likely, the republican party will win next election, but it will not be Trump. Nobody likes him anymore, not even Republicans. Only deranged trolls on X support him nowadays.

The fact is that he's not even in the primaries and taking part in any debates, and refuses to sign allegiance to the Republican party unlike all the other candidates.

Quote
Another large loss to the hegemony was the buying of Twitter by Musk. Musk has said he'd remain neutral and when there's no Twitter to feed the propoganda, it's hard for the establishment to remain in power. Trump is the safe bet for now.

It certainly does not look like X is staying neutral in any of this but I will leave that thought in the closet.

If no one wants Trump anymore, why is he the leading GOP presidential nominee according to surveys among Republicans? Also, you say that the Republicans will win the election, however, it will certainly be very difficult if Trump was not the running candidate. I would speculate that they will lose without Trump.

Also, has the primaries started already? The thread creator should post them.
878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Attack on Bitcoin’ Claims Circulate as Transaction Fees Climb Higher on: December 20, 2023, 12:36:25 AM
Months past and clealry this is still seen as an issue. And correct me if I were wrong but I don’t think Ordinals is doing that much of an impact to network congestion at this point, cause surprise surprise, NFTs are effectively dead. Now this either means that there’s something else afoot causing all this unnecessary traffic and high transaction fees over long wait times, or scalability is already becoming a more prevlanet problem in the bitcoin network than what we have expected. Perhaps this is the blocksize war biting our asses back with twice the PSI

I am unsure of precise difference between ordinals and brc20 but, these two combined have congested the network. There plenty brc20 tokens are popping up these days, and on the first glance they look literal shitcoins but people are printing money, exchanges are listing them.

It's hype of these tokens that's congesting the network, we have seen similar happening on ethereum.

NFT hype may have toned down, they are certainly not dead.

Quote
Now what do we do in this situation? Do we just wait? Do we ban Ordinals so they can’t contribute to the traffic any longer? What’s in place to make sure that even temporarily we have this be taken care of?

I wouldn't honestly ban them (however you do it, idk), I feel like it's running away from the problem (that's Bitcoin's inability to handle larger amount of transactions) than solving it.

Agreed on NFTs are not dead. Anyone who mentions that they are dead appears to have not made their research. They only need to look the price of a Cryptopunk on opensea.io.

In any case, on BRC20, it is a token standard that uses ordinals inscriptions. Similar to how images are inscribed to a satoshi for ordinals NFT, on BRC20 a json file is inscribed.

Why it would be cancelled bro, you think I start to be scared of losing against you? Angry LOL I'm kidding of course Cheesy
Before giving you my address I want to sum up things in order to avoid any future boring contentious disputes about the agreement.

So do you agree with this :

If Sandra Hüller wins, you will receive 6.5mbtc + 1mbtc from your stake
If Lily Gladstone wins, you won't receive anything I'll keep your 1mbtc
If Sandra Hüller is not nominated but Emma Stone(your jocker) wins, you will receive 1mbtc + 1mbtc
If Sandra Hüller is not nominated and any other actress than Emma Stone (and Lily Gladstone) wins, you will receive 1mbtc(your stake back)
If Sandra Hüller is nominated and Emma Stone wins or any other actress (except Lily Gladstone), you will receive 1mbtc(your stake back)

Are you ok with that bro?

Why would anyone assume that you were scared? Your Lily Gladstone is very much praised by the critics, she is the predicited winner for best actress and you are the escrow for this bet. I should be the one who should be afraid hehhehehe.

In any case, yes I agree. Your latest proposal is only a repitition of the original proposal that I have discussed with you.

Send address and I will send you 1mbtc as soon as the fees are low. I will use my campaign payment for the bet to show that I have received the coins from the manager and sent coins to you.
Ok dude, here is my address for your 1mbtc stake : bc1q8rsz94pfk32x6ukrxkq7hh74trfunla6evy53m
Unfortunately mining fees have lowered since yesterday but they're still high. I hope you will be able to send the amount before 23th January, day of the Oscar Nominations Announcement though. If the transaction hasn't been mined before this day it's not a problem as long as it had been sent.

I am quite certain the fees will be low before January 23. I already have the incoming transaction for me waiting to be confirmed. I will send 1mbtc to you immediately once the coins are confirmed and available.

@Rikafip. Have you watched Killers of the Flower Moon already?

Also, anyone who has watched Poor Things, please no spoilers and no hype. I might want my expectations to be low to like the movie hehehehe.

If this is really Tee Higgins' mother, no one should mention anything bad about her son in social media heheeheheh.

Kind of weird timing tweeting this when it was Higgins best week of the year.

I shared it because it was a funny tweet from his mother hehe.

Similar to @nutildah, I also say congratulations to everyone who entered the the playoff! I reckon everyone will play again next year?

Also, @DireWolfM14! Good prediction on the Seahawks. On the 1st half, I thought the Eagles would win. However, the 3rd quarter was where it began to change for the Seahawks. It appears if the Eagles continue to have these performances, the king of the NFC will be decided by 49ers and the Cowboys.
