861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto ATMs on: February 03, 2019, 06:48:00 PM
https://cryptomenow.com/research-roughly-5-new-crypto-atms-are-being-installed-every-single-day/

About 5 a day are being added, making a total of 4k ATMs worldwide.

For comparison purposes, there are 3million fiat ATMs in the world.
The question that should be asked here is what for ?, i mean is the number of ATMs is increasing because there is an increasing number of the shops and places where they accept them near the areas where they are installed or is it because people are just interested in exchanging their into crypto, either way it is a good sign to see that crypto currency culture is spreeding all over the world, and hopefully we will see this number increasing more in the developing areas like Africa and Asia.
862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we not abusing decentralization? on: February 03, 2019, 06:29:19 PM
Decentralization is one of the greatest dreams of Satoshi looking at the how the blockchain technology and its immutable distributed ledger has been designed. Well it saddens my heart that the greed of men has led to the abusing of this freedom and liberty that Satoshi wanted us to have in the financial industry. Look at the way people are being scammed and robbed in broad day light just because crypto is embedded in anonymity and decentralization. I think we've all had it to the peak, how about we have some level of regulation with the activities in the crypto industry. Share your thoughts commrades.
Well unfortunately nothing is perfect and with every system that has been created by man there will be people who abuse it, i mean it is true that people may have their crypto stolen but at least we know who stole it, not the actual person but the address that the money was transferd to, meaning that address could be blacklisted and the stolen money will never be spent, just like what happend with the Japanese exchange, and to be honost people get their crypto stolen due to the fact that they lack sense of security.
863  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto reinvestment without withdrawing fiat currency on: February 02, 2019, 07:47:53 PM
There are several ways to reinvest crypto to earn more crypto. Here are some examples:
Breeding: cryptokitties, fishbank, etc.
Resale: openbazaar, landhodler, etc.
Gambling: bitstars, mbit, betcoin and others.

Has anyone had experience with these sites? Are there other examples of reinvestment?
Well i wouldn't consider gambling a type of investment because it is not a sure way of making a profit, but as far as reinvesting crypto to earn more the sky is the limit the crypto market has become more or less the same as the fiat one, you can buy and sell anything using crypto these days, for example you can buy a product using bitcoin and later resell it for a higher price, or you can use some of your crypto earning to buy tokens through ICO projects that might be quite successful in the future, and as i said any thing that you can think of doing using fiat can be done with crypto these days, you just have to bring a need or a innovative thing to the market to be able to make profit from.
864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IS BITCOIN ATM PROFITABLE BUSINESS ? on: February 02, 2019, 12:20:56 PM
For the past few week i having thinking about Starting My own  bitcoin ATM company , i have been  doing allot of research about it and its seems there going to high  cost as start up  .. My country is the one top 5 africa countries that uses bitcoin but yet i have never seen any bitcoin ATM here . I really need advice from you guys .  Is bitcoin A profitable Business and if you any manufactures of this ATM you can recommend to me !!
In order to actually make this work and actually profit from it you have to consider 2 main things, first the number of people that actually uses bitcoin in your country and this is mainly tied to how many shops/ places accept it as a payment method, because there will be no need for a bitcoin atm if people can't use bitcoin, which is also tied to weather the government is ok with it or not, and the second thing is the place that you are installing the atm at, for instance if you put it in like a train station you will be targeting more of the locals while when you install it in an airport you will be targeting more of the tourists and foreigners.

868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler was being robbed on: December 30, 2018, 10:46:01 PM
Recently, a Korean National has been robbed here in my place while riding the Taxi going home and lose the money that he won in the casinos, Its around 4Million Pesos or $75,000. This is not new in gambling industry since many incidents like this before. Do you ever think its a real accident or its just an inside job where the employees of casinos are involve or the casino itself?

This is a once in a lifetime opportunities to become a millionaire, and yet it is being taken easily by a more greedy people. Now I’m wondering if its still safe to go to casinos or better to play online? What’s your thought about this?

Here’s the link for your reference (it’s not translated in english but I’ve already share the summary of this news):
https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/balitambayan/balita/679284/koreanong-nanalo-ng-p4m-sa-casino-hinoldap-sa-pasay/story/
This is something that has been happening often, it might be an inside job for casinos, or it might be some specialized gangs who goes into casinos snipe easy targets who they just won and have no security just like this guy and just rob them, and they probably can't anything about them, that is why online gambling has become more and more favorable especially in areas where these kind of accidents happen.
869  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Fate of ICOs. on: December 30, 2018, 10:19:53 PM
As you all know that 90% of ICOs this year was a totally loss. most of all the tokens that hit the market are trading below price. some of catastrophic. some are trading below 90% to 95% of their list price. Majority of ICOs this days have has decided to run token sales on Exchanges. as the year comes to an End, Could there be another means of raising fund for tokens come 2019.?
I personally i am very disappointing from the ICO seance in general and i know that many people have lost faith in them due to many of them just turning out to be a major scam and developers just trying to get quick money out of them and then just stop developing it, so the trust in cryptocurrency this year has really gone done, and i honestly doubt that we will see the same support for it as in 2017.
870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Update on: December 30, 2018, 09:19:56 PM
How do you like the news about the imminent update of the air? Will it help Eth to strengthen its position?

I have read all the news about ethereum going to take back the number two position according to the coinmarketcap. I think this has something to do with what you say. I think in 2019 the price of ethereum will increase. But the price is still below the year 2017. Crypto will improve again in 2020. Many sources say this. So that it becomes a strong reference for us to invest.
I think that what etherum is going through has to do with all what the market is going through from laws and regulation and lack of trust from some investors, but unlike other cryptocurrencies etehreum has more than just a value that goes up and down based on the supply, it opened a lot of windows for many ideas to develop and projects to be created based on its smart contract, and for that the investment in it is still on and i ma sure that in the next year we will definitely see it come back.
871  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie should trade or not? Please give me idea. on: December 30, 2018, 09:00:25 PM
With my opinion the future crypto market is really a great investment opportunity for those who can catch it. We all see that prices and markets are quite gloomy at the moment but I think this will be a reasonable buying opportunity for many potential coin coins at this time. Think carefully in each of your decisions
I guess it is true, but only if you have the money, i mean think like tow years earlier trading cryptocurrencies was fairly simple and prices were constantly going up so it was newbie friendly so if you did have some money left you could easily start doing so, but looking at it now with all the dram the regulations and all what is going on with the market it is really hard for me to say the same thing about it.
872  Economy / Economics / Re: 2019 USD/TRY on: December 30, 2018, 07:52:10 PM
I really don't thin such thing will happen again, unless relationships between the tow countries goes bad, it is true that during the last few months the Lira really saw some big hits to its price but during this month it really started seeing some improvements, and for i what i have been seeing from the news the political relations between the tow countries are defiantly improving.
873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best use for Bitcoin on: December 30, 2018, 07:29:04 PM
For me bitcoin has been for more than tow years now the only way i am able to get income, since i am still a student ever since i started using bitcoin i was able to make some decent amount of money that helped me and still does with covering some expenses and buying thing that if it was not for the bitcoin i wouldn't be able to get them, besides for me working online and earning bitcoin is much more fun and dynamic than getting a part time job at a coffee shop or a restaurant or even an office.
874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A cryptocurrency entirely dedicated to GAMBLING? on: December 30, 2018, 07:12:43 PM
If a cryptocurrency was to be created for gambling it has to be accepted by a large number of online casinos for it to be relevant, and in this case why bother using it if you already have bitcoin and ethereum, and as many people have pointed that there are a lot of casinos who sell their own token for you to use them for gambling on their sites.
875  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Did you lose your confidence as an investor? on: December 30, 2018, 06:50:32 PM
The sudden rise (from the very beginning of 2018) to fall (end of 2018 and still continuing), did you have the courage to hodl your coins and have your confidence intact just as before? Or did the extreme hustle of the bearish markets ended everything for you and even compelled you in such a way that you're now no more going to put anything in cryptocurrencies? Do you think this is an opportunity itself or is this going to end up hard in grave like most of the best ICO projects of whose tokens got dumped down to even 1/20th their ATH?

P.S.: This is just a poll, so don't take it as a measurement to decide whether to remain and/or invest in crypto or not.
Well for the past 2 years we have seen the prices go down and up and the market constantly taking us by surprise and changing when we least expect it, 2018 may have not been a great year for the crypto and that is mainly to regulation and honestly this was something that is expected and it was only a matter of time for it to happen, even though with all this happening i still strongly belive that this market is worth investing in it and i still do believe in the true purpose of crypto.
876  Economy / Economics / Re: Canada warns its citizens to only buy marijuana with cash on: December 30, 2018, 06:35:24 PM
As many people bitcoin and other cryptocurrency are used for all the transactions made on the deep web markets, which involves buying and selling drugs including marijuana, and because its is legal in Canada i don't see a real reason why people should be using cryptocurrency to buy it on the deep web and support criminal activities, i know that it does provide privacy but if you are not doing something illegal that you should not care if you use cash or crypto.
877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is going to convince me which is the best! on: December 29, 2018, 07:14:51 PM
BTC

XRP

ETH

Who is going to convince me which is the best? and why?
First XRP is out of the competition, In terms of price bitcoin is always going to be the best and first and that is something that is not going to change no matter what, however in terms of development and innovation and usability the smart contracts that the ETH blockchain provides is highly encouraging and will always allow for new innovation, so for price BTC, for development ETH
878  Economy / Economics / Re: Will BTC defeated in 2019? on: December 29, 2018, 06:22:41 PM
Crypto currency seems to cold down these days and many people have lost faith in the past few months...

People find most token are fake indeed, what they have was just a whitepaper.

I think most of them will die in the next year.

But what about Bitcoin?

As the first and the most influential one, Bitcoin is still weak with numerous restrictions.

Maybe it will fall into the ground due to the political factors, or beaten by other token which is better.

 Huh

It is really unknown the faith of the cryptocurrency in the upcoming year or moths, we really did take a big hit this year, it is really crazy to look back on December last year and how much we have gone down, it might be because of the political factors that this has gone this way or due to people no longer having faith in the cryptocurrency scene, but hopefully things will get better next year, either way we all must support bitcoin and have faith in its potential.

880  Economy / Economics / Re: Investor Sentiment on the Cryptocurrency market on: December 18, 2018, 10:34:18 AM
Hello everyone,

I am currently working on my Master Thesis and as you can guess, the subject of it is ‘Investor Sentiment on the Cryptocurrency market’.

I came on this forum to get answers from the people who have already invested in cryptocurrencies or are actually experimented on this subject. My question to all of you is the following: From your point of view, what could be the factors responsible of sentiment on the cryptocurrency market ?

Just to clarify the terms used in my question, Baker and Wurgler (2006) gives two definition of investor sentiment:
1) The propensity to take risks and to speculate.
2) The overall sense of optimism or pessimism about stocks

Also if you have any papers that could contribute to my Literature Review, I am willing to take your suggestions.

Best,

ycollin

So a lot of people have came to this industry or i should say market with their hopes off getting rich and making money fast and easy considering how much their market has been growing fast through last tow years, and because of that there is a high percentage of investors today who are not driven by their knowledge of the market rather by their sentiment and their instinct of seeing the price going up and down, and because of that the minority is always affected by what the majority does so the market has been going down significantly, so in conclusion people who are driven by their sentiment always quit early and people who are driven by their knowledge stick to the end.
