861  Local / India / Re: Project Translations in Hindi are a waste of money! on: May 08, 2019, 05:43:07 AM
As you can see here localbitcoins volume is steadily growing in India.
https://coin.dance/volume/localbitcoins/INR
So you shouldn't think about the present, but about the future.
More information in indian languages will enhance mass adoption in my opinion.
Cryptos are not made for rich and smart people, but for everybody, including unbanked people

Localbitcoins vol. has grown not because the avg Indian suddenly started liking crypto, its because they have no other way to buy/sell it here.

By the time the average Indian farmer understand what Bitcoin or any of the technology is, it'd far from feasible for such people to own it. You do not understand the Indian mentality if you think otherwise. You should stick to your french communities.

I've grown up in Indian villages, I know the mentality. If it's not backed by gov it's a scam! The avg. Indian doesn't even trust non-gov banks.

So all that talk about crypto is for everyone only sounds good ideologically. Practically it does not hold its ground.
862  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Western Union carding on: May 08, 2019, 05:36:53 AM
Oh yes buddy! You could face legal ramifications and not only that, this is ethically a pretty shitty thing to allow. You might as well be tagged as a scammer for enabling a scammer this way. Legally, you'd be liable.
863  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Has Been Hacked - Lost 7,074 BTC on: May 08, 2019, 05:30:49 AM
It is not a FUD, it is a hack.  We cannot remove the possibility of self orchestrated hack to showcase their SAFU.  Thus, increasing people's trust and believe that their fund is secured through SAFU.  Which we can call a marketing strategy plus free advertisement about their SAFU.

Interesting, this also means that they'd have to clear all traces of the 7k btc's movement in or out of their system. Which is very hard to do. But then again with billions at disposal, hard becomes easy.
864  Economy / Trading Discussion / Who is trading on P2P wallet exchanges? on: May 08, 2019, 05:30:43 AM
Some of you might know there are a growing number of wallets with in-built person to person exchanges. Whether it be  Pint or Mycelium, these marketplaces are a little slower than a regular p2p market like localbitcoins, bitkan or Paxful.

So what do you guys think? is it economically feasible for a wallet app to dedicate resources to this p2p marketplace feature? Is it worth it, given how less it is used by people? Or is it too soon to say?

One thing is for sure, with even Binance getting hacked, it seems nothing is safe enough to trust 100% anymore. Would wallet linked semi decentralized p2p exchanges be the future? or just another failed experiment?
865  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Importing and Using Imported Address on: May 03, 2019, 02:50:52 PM
Import and Sweep are totally different features, maybe you misunderstood it?

When you Sweep, it will make a "Max/send-all" transaction using the address derived from the private key of that "imported address" and send it to an address within the wallet.
It (the input) will never be re-used nor saved to the wallet which why the balance from the later transactions didn't reflect to the wallet.

What you want is to Import the private key of the address, I believe that there's an option after pasting the private key: "1. Sweep and 2. Import".
Select the second option.

And there lies my problem.

No matter what I do, whether import or sweep by address that gets imported does not reflect in the balance. I understand if I sweep an address it will not update the balance if the address receives a transaction after the sweep, but it should work for import, right? nope, not happening. My question is what am I doing wrong and how to find out where I am going wrong in this quest of mine.

If someone could point me to some documentation about importing addresses, that'd be of great help.

you wan't to import the key, not sweep it.

I'm going to look beyond your snarky comment and assume you're here to help. So, no, neither importing nor sweeping is showing the balance.

However, I have tried importing the address into Electrum and it worked fine.

I had the pleasure of speaking to Charles. He's a very punctual man.
Although I did not join him on his crypto-journalistic journey with his company due to my personal reasons, I must recommend this post.
After all, he is seeking to hire an "editor" who would create written content. About 4900 words per week and for a really high pay rate of $0.00816 per word.

So yeah, I recommend this high paying editor job. Please do not focus on the use of my explicit adjectives. Any hint of sarcasm is consequential.

The purpose of this post of mine is to let people know what they're getting into before they get their hopes up. I harbor no animosity towards OP or anything just and I hope OP is able to take my lighthearted jive at his recruitment post sportingly.

I agree, for some of us in this community $40 a week is a lot, and OP would be better off if he targeted those people and stopped calling this post as the post of an editor and be offended when I correct him.
867  Economy / Services / Re: Article Publishing Services on Premium Magazines on: May 03, 2019, 11:30:58 AM
Beware.

All the positive trusts on his profile are fake made by his own puppet accounts.

I'd ask everyone to report this guy to the mods so he's banned from here.
868  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Importing and Using Imported Address on: May 03, 2019, 04:22:27 AM

Did you try to import the address or the private key associated with the address?

How do you import an address without importing the keys first?  Roll Eyes I wasn't aware you can do that, the only way to import an address is by importing the keeps and sweeping. If I'm missing something let me know.
It's possible, only as watch only address, which bitcoins cannot be sent from that address.

This concern may be a syncing issue...

No, it's not a syncing issue. I think after nearly 7 years using crypto of all sorts I'd be able to tell if its a syncing issue.

The issue is adding imported address into Bitcoin Armory and using it as a regular address within the wallet.

Like I said, the import only sweeps for funds, is there a way to use it the way a regular address would work? Much like how Electrum works?

I would request people to refrain from making useless posts here.

870  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallet name suggestion on: May 03, 2019, 12:13:20 AM
Then I'm sorry, I thought about ideas for names that came to mind. I didn't check to see if it was already taken.

You are digging yourself into a hole that you do not want to find yourself in.

90% of all the names you have given are of other projects and you want me to believe that you just randomly thought of all those names? Really funny.
871  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for Writers for my website. on: May 02, 2019, 08:50:53 PM
Hello,

I am looking for Writers for my website https://cryptocurrencytrick.com. I need authors who can write   ICO reviews or do

interviews of ICO team members. For the time being you can  use your post in bounty content creation campaign to earn tokens.

I will pay 40% of the revenue in btc that i will get from the site per month. At the present, the site is not monetized.

Very soon I will add banners from a reputed adnetwork. At present, I am focussing on building a loyal reader community for my

site. I am also running ads on various adnetworks. Only interested people contact me .

If you had a better budget I'd have suggested Parodium but since this isn't exactly a paid position I don't think he'd be interested.
However, I am looking to expand my portfolio, I'd like to give this a shot. I'll shoot you a PM.
872  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for writers/poster for my new forum. Pay per post: $0.25 to $0.40 in BTC on: May 02, 2019, 08:46:33 PM
Hmm this ought to be interesting. Dropping my telegram in your inbox. I just hope you're legit. My creds are on my profile. Further details about my experience will be in your inbox.
873  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallet name suggestion on: May 02, 2019, 04:32:47 PM
Suggesting a few names, not easy to stick to something around  'all in 1' without more details.

CoinDock
FlexyBit
Cashy
CoinSuite
CoinSense
Coinker
CoinPilot
Coinstream
Mondo
Coinigy
Linea Purse
Xenon wallet
Jena Purse
Cryptoly
AyoBit
Cryptovault

(I'm not interested with the reward, thxs)

You are supposed to suggest NEW names for a NEW wallet. Not existing names..
874  Bitcoin / Armory / Importing and Using Imported Address on: May 02, 2019, 04:22:14 PM
I tried importing a wallet address to armory. While it imports the thing just fine, it does not let me use the address as a normal receiving address and does not update the balance when the imported address receives funds.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong here? Or does armory does not allow this at all?
875  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Question about public seed on: May 02, 2019, 04:19:43 PM
I got it to sync up but now my balance is showing zero.  I think it was around 50 coins, does anyone know?

It is brain seed not paper seed.
Which wallet software were you using? Huh Most wallets do not allow you to use "non BIP39" words... which is what a number of the words you've listed in your "brain seed" are.

When you say it is synced up... is it actually showing transaction history and just has a zero balance (all coins sent out)... or is it just showing a completely "blank" wallet with no transactions?

Also, for future reference... there is no such thing as a "public seed"... your seed is the most critical piece of data for securing your coins... it should remain 100% confidential and secret at all times! Shocked

I think he got it confused between a public / private key pair that's used to generate some wallets. But still, that is no reason for him to foolishly expose his word sequence online. No newbie is that dumb.
876  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Mobile Android Wallet For Ledger Nano S on: May 02, 2019, 04:17:21 PM
As far as I remember, CoPay also supports hardware wallets, but I have never used it so I can't tell you more details. What's your android version?

I'd advise everyone to stay away from CoPay/BitPay. They've become way too unreliable these days. The PC wallet glitches every time and I have to restore from backup everytime it loads.
877  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Exodus Mobile on: May 02, 2019, 04:14:09 PM
I was bummed out that there was no developer mode on the mobile. Or if there is I couldn't find it. If anyone else finds the dev mode on mobile please let me know through DM.
There isn’t one.

It looks like they added the “restore wallet” option. Not sure why they didn’t do that first, but there it is.

lol I was right, no dev mode.

So now my question is, if I switch the pricing to Cryptocompare from Exodus pricing server on my desktop wallet, is that getting synced to my mobile wallet at all? I assumed it wasn't the case and hence wanted to access the dev mode.

Besides that, having access to it allowed me quick access to the data folder on PC. Does anyone know where the data folder is saved on Android devices?
878  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Open Source Wallet Tool by MouseBelt NEW release on: May 02, 2019, 04:09:25 PM
Introducing MouseWallet — the newest open-source tool from MouseBelt! This release is part of a larger suite of tools launched in 2018. They were developed in partnership with blockchain engineering group No Rest Labs. Our hope is that these tools encourage more innovation in the blockchain space by alleviating the work associated with building a new project.

When you say open source, are you inferring that your tech is ready to be used as a white label solution? Are you guys ready to partner with other wallet development projects who might be interested? Let me know through DM.

Also, queried lack of fee customisation.

This is a major issue with Exodus. The fees for even small transactions are enormous.
880  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallet name suggestion on: May 02, 2019, 03:48:44 PM
While I am partly serious with my previous reply, I genuinely lol'ed when they considered my example "LemonPurse" as a participant.
For G's sake, it's not a decent wallet name an only given as an example of a "Common Word(s) - Two Syllables" brand   Roll Eyes

Okay, so it should resemble "All in one", I came up with the name "Unibit Wallet" but it was already taken or even patented.
If possible, change my submitted entry into: Unicoin Wallet (There's a slight resemblance with "Unocoin" though).

Yeah, not all entries are serious but not everyone will be the winner. It's only fair that I track every entry.

Bhinneka Wallet

You are lucky I am not tagging your account for shitposting.

(I'm not interested with the reward, thxs)

It's okay you can pick any of the participants to receive the coins on your behalf.
