881  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC-e versus bitfinex -- fees? on: August 25, 2014, 07:19:27 PM
0.12%? My understanding is that BFX fees are 0.15%. I have heard they have maker taker, but even when my filled orders were limit orders, I was charged 0.15%. BTC-E is 0.2%.
882  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: August 25, 2014, 07:16:19 PM
how is the Unrealized P/L calculated?

Like let's say i short 400 and it drops a few.. if someone has a short that is lower than my short but is only .. let's say 10 ltc .. is my Unrealized P/L calculated based on that 10 or 10 and the ones behind it?

Just want to make sure when i  hit a market close.

It is based on the best bid/ask. I believe it does not take order book depth into consideration. So with sizable positions, be very careful with the market order button. (Same goes for trigger orders like stops)
883  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ryans log on: August 15, 2014, 08:32:31 AM
RyNinDaCleM, thanks for this thread. I've picked up a lot. Not that I can wrap my head around Eliot Wave yet, but just general reads on the market, sentiment, divergences, etc. Good stuff.
884  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 15, 2014, 08:30:39 AM
Whoa, what happened last night? I haven't been looking at the charts the last couple days. But I had a bids fill in the 460s and 470s.... I guess some forced liquidations? Anyone know what started it? (Bitfinex)
885  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 13, 2014, 07:18:13 AM
Who can get me clear what caused this such panic, only leverages? Absolutely the answer will be no

No, simply no buy pressure to be found. No bulls to fuel a bounce. I'm starting to think we really need a good plunge, into the $400s perhaps, to provide momentum for a strong rally. Bulls are nowhere to be found -- except those holding from higher up.

And "anarcho"-capitalists can harp on government all they want, but in my eyes, a private state is no better than a public one. When a landowner (and cumulatively, landowners) can draw lines on a map, declare their own laws and enforce them with violence, that's statism in my eyes.

This is why not every capitalist are anarcho. Having a public state or a private state one is exactly the same to my eyes.
What non-anarcho recognize is the need of a state to enforce property right.
No private party can use enforcement, enforcement is monopoly of the state.

I just think the ideal is a society where people don't have power over one another. That means a conception of property that favors possession, use and occupancy over absentee accumulation.
I don't follow you, either you don't know you are a capitalist or I don't know I am a socialist...

If we have the same definition of possession, that is, you don't consider that something that the state possess is your possession, then you are a capitalist... sorry to tell you that.

Possession... that is to imply a system of property that is at odds with capitalism. I mean possession, use and occupancy in the Proudhonian and Tuckerite tradition. We are talking about, on one hand, a system of property based on "use" and on the other, one based on "absentee ownership."

The key is that "possession" is rooted in the concept of "use rights" or "usufruct" while "private property" is rooted in a divorce between the users and ownership. For example, a house that one lives in is a possession, whereas if one rents it to someone else at a profit it becomes property.
887  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin stable now? on: August 09, 2014, 08:11:38 AM
haven't been on in a while

Stable? The word is "sideways" and it tends to last for a few weeks before blasting off in either direction with impressive force. So, no, stability ain't happening here.
888  Economy / Economics / Re: Solution to poverty - Socialism or Capitalism? on: August 09, 2014, 08:10:09 AM
I think "socialism" tends to be a red herring. Very much misunderstood. People might think it's inconsistent for me to be invested in BTC and to be anti-capitalist -- and it's sort of true. I just can't afford to be an ideological purist at this point in my life, for the sake of my family or myself. I just think the ideal is a society where people don't have power over one another. That means a conception of property that favors possession, use and occupancy over absentee accumulation. And "anarcho"-capitalists can harp on government all they want, but in my eyes, a private state is no better than a public one. When a landowner (and cumulatively, landowners) can draw lines on a map, declare their own laws and enforce them with violence, that's statism in my eyes.
889  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many Bitcoins needed to retire in 5-6 years? on: August 09, 2014, 08:03:00 AM
I think $40k is certainly achievable, but I'm just not sure on the time frame. 5-6 years, maybe not, but I'm planning on setting aside a retirement fund of ~25 BTC. Smiley

892  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what exchange do u use? on: July 27, 2014, 12:20:55 PM
Personally I love both btc-e and bitstamp but I went ahead and cast my vote for Cryptsy since I also use them and it appears as though they could use some votes.

What about the interface/UI? The super laggy trade engine and mismatching of orders? The delayed deposit crediting? When Cryptsy was the go-to place for alt pumps, it was SUCH a mess. Still is. Anyway, just my opinion.
893  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where are the SELLERS??!? on: July 27, 2014, 12:15:08 PM
Buyers are definitely lacking.

Yep, wondering when we might see some panic in the upwards direction. It's been sparse. Likewise, not much panic going down. I actually think we are bottoming at this $590 level.... but buyers are going to have to appear at some point....
894  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your favorite car????? on: July 27, 2014, 12:12:13 PM
Well, hard to say "favorite" since I've never ridden in it, but always dreamed about having a Ford GTO --
895  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 27, 2014, 12:10:15 PM
I think we're hitting bottom at the $590 level. OBV and Accumulation/Distribution have broken their down trends and 4hr indicators are all quite low w/ bullish divergences. Bears could always show up again, but it's looking exhausted, and we're sitting on very strong support (38.2% retrace of May rally, 100 Daily EMA)
896  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crossed 500 USD - Bull Market returns ? on: July 27, 2014, 12:06:14 PM
595 on bitstamp?? what the fuck is going on now? the last day we are on 600+ save those altcoins in the future and let btc regain its price to the highest point
well im just sad
Now already going more down and now touching 589 and as its going I fear it will go more down

No worries. Strong support at the $590 level. 100 day EMA, 38.2% retracement of the May rally, 78.6% retracement of the most recent rally. Then very strong support at the $560 level as well.

Does Stunna allow ads in the Personal Message place holder?

I'm not sure. I would take it up directly with him. The OP of his campaign thread does say "You may not advertise any other sites/threads" -- so an explicit reading of that would say it isn't allowed.
