Only if you have very low electricity costs, or zero electricity costs.

Both my batch 18's look like they might have a dead board in them after just 8 days use.   Sad

Need to check when I get home
What pool?

Kano
Kano is nice and smooth, should be good.
You may be able to send the dead board to Denver and they may fix it for $175+$25 shipping.
One of mine just arrived there now. You need a ticket at bitmainwarrany.com

Lol yes I know I've been mining there since a few months after it started.

They aren't dead just acting wierd. bitmainwarranty is an option, depends what costs more, the last one I sent back to China worked out ok.

Ends up there are no down boards, but the machine is clocking itself down to 7TH and one board is giving weird output numbers.

Going to try rebooting them one at a time see if that helps.

Nah there is still Batch 18 left... for now.
I seriously thought (for about 1 min) about ordering 2 of the b18's. But -- I've really been waiting for another release of the R4's so I can get one or 2 for room heaters. Ya know, cool weather here and cold arriving... Wisely chose to Just Say No and stuck with just the one.

Since again it will be replacing a power slot in my main farm at work that is currently used by a s7... starting to really get an unsightly buildup of off-line s7's growing at work  Embarrassed

Then in in Pasture there is the uber-rare fully functional retired A1 rig from AMT, 2x s2's, 2x C1's, and 2x s4's... Quite the collection. Glad I was at least able to offload literal pile of my old s1's 3's, 5's, and another s4 to Sidehack Cheesy

Lol I placed an order for 1 B18, but my wallet took well over an hour to synch, so the order expired. So I placed an order for 2 instead Smiley

891  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Interest for Hosted S9 on: October 10, 2016, 07:20:28 AM
Registering interest depending on cost of unit and pcm hosting costs.

Not sure what this means:

Broken units be repaired/replaced while in hosting.  (Except certain uses will void free repair options)

Seeing as you are hosting them, what certain uses would you be doing that would void free repair?
892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ESX servers? on: October 06, 2016, 02:42:37 PM

Off topic for this part of the forum, you want to be in the ALT section, this is the Bitcoin section.

However, here is a good comprehensive list of motherboards with 5 or 6 slots.

895  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S9 Sales on: October 04, 2016, 07:48:01 AM
Now that Avalon company is about to be sold, I wonder how their subsequent miners will perform in the market.

Its not being sold https://canaan.io/en/2016/09/29/keep-the-faith-innovation-over-acquisition/

Looks line one of mine has had a more catastrophic failure.

That always happens for my miners too, during the startup for a short moment.
But they start hashing normally.

Yes I know that, so 4 hours later no change.

SSH'ed into the miner, looking at the logs seems there is a problem with my hosts DNS resolution
Ok, good to know that if that status stays for a longer period it could be caused for example by a DNS resolution problem.

Yep, put the IP of the pool in as a backup and it started right back up.

Spoke too soon, seems that my little DNS problem was perhaps a symptom of a bigger issue with my hosting provider, looks all sorted now though!
