881  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the market still profitable for new projects? on: August 08, 2023, 10:32:35 PM
Any project can be profitable. It's just a matter of how well the team does their marketing, and whether the products/service they offer actually live up to expectations. Even big companies would have fresh budding competitors, not to mention new companies that have a new innovative product/service they can offer. While it's hard to develop something new nowadays since literally almost everyone with the know-how keeps pushing out new stuff, it's a matter of who can keep standing the longest. It isn't even a matter of creativity at some point really (except in extreme cases I think), it's just a matter of marketing itself.
882  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: August 08, 2023, 09:51:05 PM

It's just how their beliefs and ideologies were built up while growing. It's nothing wrong imo, privacy is something most people keep forgetting exists, but it's a right most people have. And if people don't want you to know they were gambling, who's to force them right? It's not a matter of "hiding" stuff because they're doing something wrong, that's just a REALLY dumb argument. If all it took for someone to be recognized as a criminal was because they were hiding something, a lot of innocent people would get arrested and a lot of criminals would probably get away still with their crimes. Anyway, it's a simple matter of "wanting" to have privacy for whatever they do, regardless of whether it is gambling or not.

I myself keep it to myself, kind of dumb to spread it to others like I'm preaching some religion or something, but at the same time if somebody discovers it then fine, I don't particularly mind it. It's not a sin, and if your country allows it, then let them find out for all I care. The thing here is that them "finding out" and me "preaching it out" are two different scenarios, and the latter just sounds, well, a dumb move.
883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Peer pressure as a substantial gambling catalyst. on: August 08, 2023, 04:13:25 AM

Well my peers definitely had an influence in my first time gambling. It was a group of sorts when I was in higschool, they brought poker cards and initially, it was only for fun, but then money got involved. I wasn't supposed to be joining in really, but then pressure and curiosity got the best of me. That time didn't really last long but it did stick to me, to the point where I myself tried it out on my own at my later college years.

Definitely not something life inspiring (but really just lucky), but my peers just by bringing poker cards and adding in money was more than enough.
884  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: August 07, 2023, 11:03:40 PM
Wouldn't real estate be better as a start? You can turn it into a business like a rental apartment for example if needed, which is like having a business and a real estate at the same time. Plus, it's a lot more solid and stable compared to the other two (if you choose a good plot anyway). Business is risky. But if stars aligned and you were able to somehow market your business, then it pretty much just builds up and snowballs from there. But again looking at it from the side of where you lose out, it's too much of an investment especially if you have a limited amount of funds you can use. Crypto is well... Crypto. It's highly volatile, and insane gains of 200% can bring you a lot, but you'd probably lose more at that point than you would've earned more. The good thing about crypto though is it has no starting requirement. A wallet, the know-hows of exchanges, and a bit of money can get you started in investing.

So with that money, I'd go for Real estate > crypto > business.
885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are new altcoins being too risky? Current market trend on: August 07, 2023, 10:52:02 PM
I am active again after a while and a lot has changed but the apathy of tier two altcoins remains same and it's absolute sham because most of the tier two altcoins have hit rockbottom and to a point of no return and some trusted coins like LUNA, FTX, Celsius, and BlockFI etc where people have lost their life long savings and on the other hand we have tokens like Solano, XRP, XLM, BNB, ADA and Matic who are heading on path of recovery. It's clear that you go with top altcoins (even this involves risk like fate of LUNA, FTX, etc) though there are slight risk of losing but probability of losing everything is even more in other altcoins whose prices are dipped within few seconds after their launch. It's better to invest in established coins rather than newbies.

Please share your opinion.
Altcoins are always risky, especially if they're new. That's not a market trend, it's just something that new projects all have. Investing in well-established coins or in new coins is really just a matter of what you want, if you want more profits, investing in new altcoins would be better since if they were to be say, the next ETH,XRP or something, then you'd gain big if you were an early investor. If you want something more stable and relatively safe, then invest on coins with a well-built reputation, but don't expect insane gains. Just like how it is in Bitcoin, you can't exactly see 1000% or 10000% gains anymore. There is the saying the greater the risk, the greater the reward after all.
886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Do You Of Think My Predictions On This Multi Bet Ticket ? on: August 07, 2023, 10:27:45 PM
Hmmm, this isn't like casinos imo where the chances are straight out 50-50, it's sports, so some teams have higher chances of winning compared to others, so it really depends on how you've judged the teams themselves and whether they even have any chances or not. If you like taking risks, then cash out on the occasion where the chances of your team is lower than say 60, or 70%. If you want to play it safe, if the chances go beyond 50/50, then cash out. This relies on you being able to accurately gauge the team's capabilities though.

Well as you said though, it's a small amount of money so why not take the risk? It looks fun in it's own like that anyway.
887  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Have you ever used copy trading apps on: August 06, 2023, 10:57:10 PM
I have a friend who tried copy trading (after I let him know it exists). It was quite a few years back though and while he didn't lose much (or earn much really), it didn't really prove as a learning experience for him. Accurate to the name itself, copy trading is a method of, well, copying others after all, and in this trade, you'd never see any profit no matter what if all you do is copy trade. While I won't judge you if that's what you want, then why bother copy-trading in the first place? This just gives you an outlet for venting when your trades are lost when in the first place you could've taken the time to study up and earn on what you learned instead.

While it is one option for beginner traders (which I also considered as a good one, but that was in the past), it might be better to experience losing money early on instead and learning on what you did wrong and what you didn't know instead. Losing money is part of the process, so if you're not happy with that, I'd honestly just stop trying to trade (or just DCA on a good coin).
888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need a privacy coin that can only hide transaction amounts ? on: August 06, 2023, 10:41:20 PM
Privacy can be a huge thing only if big organizations and government groups actually accept and acknowledge their use. I mean, who would buy Bitcoin if you can't use it to anonymously buy stuff you want in the first place no? And Bitcoin is seen more as a sort of investment, for now at least. It should change if the things I've said earlier change, and if it's volatility dies down (which afaik should happen once the halving supply dies down to the point where it has minimal influence on the market).

And also isn't Monero still used today? well what you did compare were coins that were much more popular though so I guess the reasoning still stands, but it's still popular imo, probably not just much discussion about it as others though since the others have a lot of discussions going on about them.
889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if USDT falls down? on: August 06, 2023, 10:05:55 PM
I've never really put all my coins into USDT in the first place so I don't think it'd affect me much. I just use it as a transition sometimes and as a method of transfer if needed. That's concerning USDT though. I fear that if it ever actually drops to such low levels, it isn't just USDT that will be affected, the entire market would probably crash down like a snowball, and my other altcoins (maybe even Bitcoin) would experience quite a drastic drop.

I'd definitely survive it though, my money on crypto isn't what I consider as savings in the first place. It's not that big of an amount as well, I can probably work my ass for a few months to get it all back, unless ofc the coins I invested go up.
890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDCCOIN.ORG nft claiming to be 1250 usdc airdrop. Is this legit? on: August 06, 2023, 05:26:49 AM
If you were to check the domain details, it was registered just a few days ago so it's relatively new, and that's mostly a red flag when it comes to stuff like this, especially if it claims to be "free" and you just have to do x amount of things. If you also consider how this is their website, you'd be prone to attacks like session hijacking, malicious malware that forces you to download it and stuff like that. I'd suggest to just leave it alone and move on, maybe in the future if it is actually legit, with the nft in your possesion I don't think it'd be too late to claim it.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do wager affect outcomes in any provably fair games on: August 06, 2023, 02:00:07 AM

The interesting thing is that all of them may be right, because their sample is n=1, so it is an experiment in which there is only one subject (themselves) trying to prove or disprove an statistical fact, so that is obviously the perfect setup for failure. The correct expression should by "I loose when I raise the bets, with a margin of error of 100% on this".
Damn, I got played by math. But well I'm pretty sure they're not that dumb to not realize how useless the idea is with such a small sample size, or am I overestimating the level of knowledge most gamblers have? Well if they chose to take in that fact as a superstition or something then I got nothing else to say about them though.

That’s true and also, since you are playing more you are just increasing your chance of winning and that’s why you think the system works better if you gamble longer which I think is still depend how lucky you are. Remember those machines are programmed for the benefits of the house, so don’t expect to win always and just enjoy playing, the more you wager the more your chance of winning, just be mindful with your budget.
It's not that every time you play the chances of you winning increases, it's just that the pool of results that you use to "think" about your chances of winning/losing increases, so there's more info you can use to identify. As I've said before, each game is independent of the previous games, so a 10-loss streak or more is completely possible. Though some may argue that a "streak" theoretically has a low chance of happening, that's if you take into account that you "lost" the last round, gambling games don't do that.
892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sweat coin. Is this real? on: August 05, 2023, 06:01:39 AM
You don't have to pay for receiving airdrops afaik. Most likely a scam. In the first place I highly doubt the said coin here has the same value as the amount they're requesting you, regardless of it's quantity. 0 x to whatever number is still 0 after all. You'd mostly want an airdop in the first place from groups or threads that a lot of people are participating in, where the coin details and airdrop results are publicly shown, not like this where it was randomly messaged to you, especially by a bot.
893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anonymity is no longer a benefit of gambling with cryptocurrency. on: August 05, 2023, 05:14:49 AM
I was reading and I saw something that I would have agreed with before, but not anymore because of how much things have changed in the crypto gambling.
~

Because of KYC verification which is now done by most crypto casino to know the people who gamble on their casino, I think anonymity is no longer a benefit of gambling with cryptocurrency in crypto casino.

Am i wrong to think that this information on the internet needs to be updated.
It's true. It isn't that there are no casinos that don't accept KYC (Afaik there are still a few ones out there), but the majority due to the rules that the licenses that they got from whoever is allowing their services to be offered, KYC is a pretty much-required rule nowadays. It's a counter for money laundering on paper but in essence, it's basically trying to control everyone or have access to info of every player so that they can track pretty much everything.

But well, despite that, I highly doubt reputable casinos would sell personal info of their players to outside, that's their reputation we're talking about. And while there are instances of casinos locking player accounts, they're mostly because of ToS violations. The only bad side of this is that our info is on the hands of someone else, and security isn't necessarily a guarantee in almost all cases.
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: August 05, 2023, 01:51:38 AM
~
Not really a lottery discussion, more like money management stuff? But anyway, the idea would be rather enjoyable I guess, I mean it's free money, definitely would make a lot of bad decisions but one of them would definitely not be helping random people. Like I get it, you got money but the idea of helping people when your life itself hasn't been properly built (whether you've won money or not) seems dumb. People are able to help others because they are stable, and that's a lot more effective than destroying yourself while helping. A noble sacrifice may be noble, but a sacrifice nonetheless.

And to be fair, $600k is pretty small in a first-world country imo.
895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Abuse ... on: August 03, 2023, 11:00:35 PM
~

This is how it all starts and ends with debt that cannot be prepared. To an extent, a lot of guys do get influenced by their surroundings. In this case, he saw his neighbors making money through gambling and he got inspired. None of his neighbours would tell the truth on how they are making money but the narrative that he has is what has been told by them to him. There can be exclusion when someone got lucky and was able to get a handful. That is not always the case and cannot be as people need to lose for 1 to win. In the end, those who lost have to arrange money from somewhere to recover that loss. It is a cycle that only ends with a big win or a big loss.
A weak mindset is usually what causes people to be swept by others, and this is what most casinos go for. It doesn't even need for someone to just win in a casino, it just needs someone a bit of talking about all the "possible" advantages of gambling. And let's be real, the biggest advantage it has is the biggest influence someone can be swept with, money.

Abuse in Gambling mostly comes when a person is also abuser of other vises ,  specially when they are addicted in drugs as there are couple of friends of mine that turns addicted in gambling but first in drugs,
they have just used the gambling as a tripping place to sustain their boring time from the effect of drugs so they find gambling houses as a relief.
hope that one day He'll find better place than those abuses and addiction.
Abuse happens in the first place due to the life you've lived, in most cases. Whether it started from vices or whatever, it stems from the lifestyle you've experienced from young till now, and that's pretty much where every issue with regards to suicidal tendencies, depression, anger management issues, and stuff like that stem from. It's nothing new, but it's also something the majority of people can't help with unless the case was pretty much publicized.
896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: *** Exploring Unique Advertising Opportunities in the Gambling Sector*** on: August 03, 2023, 10:39:58 PM
So basically an alternative way of trying to advertise that crypto isn't bad or something? Well tbf, this is more like turning it into propaganda since we're trying to push that crypto is good, when in a sense, it's actually neither. It's just a medium, a method, whoever uses it are the ones in the wrong. And presenting both sides through advertisement isn't exactly easy, neither is it profitable so I highly doubt casinos would be enticed to do it. They aren't wrong to suspect crypto of something, it is indeed a fact that a lot of scammy stuff has happened in the past, and well, with how the media works it isn't that surprising that the highlight for most of these news are the scam ones, it's what brings in views.
~
I don't understand the difference between the proposed concept and the currently traditional advertising methods. For me they look pretty similar to not say they are exactly the same thing. There are many blogs and banners on the internet trying to be informative, while promoting a crypto service like a casino or exchange. They are full of informations, including videos on youtube, aiming to bring new users for the platforms through a referral link from the advertiser who will profit over his referrals.
I don't think there's even one at all. The only thing that was changed was the info, this time from casinos advertising themselves to casinos advertising that crypto is good, which again highlights my point of the idea of not being profitable in the first place, hence not really applicable.
897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best Altcoin for this moment to accumulate right now? on: August 03, 2023, 09:55:55 PM
XRP seems like a good one since there's a chance the price can pump up (if not already) due to the SEC issue they have (which they're winning from last I heard of). LTC is also having it's halving, and while I have doubts whether its pump is going to benefit it in the long run, at the very least we should be able to see some waves in the short run (so probably not the best to accumulate since you're immediately selling after the halving). The rest of my personal options would be SOL, ETH, and Matic. You can't go wrong with ETH imo, and the other two are just personally what I want to buy.
898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EXPECTIONS FROM LITECOIN HALVING on: August 02, 2023, 10:41:13 PM
There are few days left until the next LTC halving. I understand that a new huge milestone in any of the major crypto generally causes a positive response in the entire market; an example being the recent court judgement in favor of XRP that saw market responding positively. So, do we expect some positive response from the LTC halving? If yes, to what extent can this impact on the general market condition?
There's going to be some change, just that it differs from what you expect. It wouldn't make big waves compared to the XRP SEC case (that's a different thing altogether really) or like BTC's halving since they're on quite a different scale. In the first place, if you look at the past halving LTC had, there wasn't really much in terms of price movement. It went up a bit, but that's about it. It even went down a few months afterward really. And iirc, it pumped up during the start of pandemic, aka when new investors were coming in, hence you can't really say the halving would be able to do anything to pump it.

At most, a few percent increase in a few days or maybe about a week. Then we'd see regular levels after that.
899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: August 02, 2023, 10:19:46 PM
~
I don't think this would work. This actually forces casinos to become limited in terms of their audience, and this isn't something natural like underage people not being able to see gambling ads, it's something that people CAN choose to stop seeing them. It's not like only gambling addicts are the only ones who don't want to see gambling ads, there's probably a lot more, which would stop the casino from receiving their new customers. There's also the chance that whoever hosts their ad would lose the contract they have with the casinos to advertise them, since well, it doesn't return enough traffic after all.

There are a LOT of self-exclusion ways, some of which are extensions that block casinos themselves. Just smash your keyboard if they ask for a password, self-exclusion done. Really, anyone who wants to stop gambling will do anything to do it, even if it was gradual. Those who don't? They simply find a new way to bypass the exclusion they did themselves.
900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do wager affect outcomes in any provably fair games on: August 02, 2023, 09:44:16 PM
I noticed that when I start to play games like keno, limbo, dice, etc. First some bets don't hit and after wagering some percentage of my balance it starts to hit,
How it works? like when we wager we have more probability to hit win, anyone noticed this? Do you know how it works and what is the calculation behind it?, do server sends outcomes by checking our wager?
Coincidence. Forcing patterns into something we don't understand is something normal so I understand you forcing it like this, but it doesn't really happen. Each bet is, in essence, a separate chance from its previous bets, unless the game states otherwise. The calculations behind it afaik uses algorithms that create pseudo-random results based on, well, randomness. In essence seeing a pattern is just your brain playing with you. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have noticed that a lot of your other losses/wins had no patterns as well since, well, they were random. And we don't use that to argue that bets are completely random no?
