If you can handle the noise/heat then go for it.

Yeah, looks like it.  I didn't notice it before, but it hasn't updated in 1.1 days according to itself!!  Huh
906  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: need help with psu emerson 1200 on: August 02, 2017, 07:03:02 PM
Interesting.  For future reference to those looking up this thread, A1 is PS_ON, B4 is AC_OK (AC is present).

Nice work, cheers!  Cool
907  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: need help with psu emerson 1200 on: August 02, 2017, 06:54:35 PM
I don't have one of those to play with, but I suspect you need to activate both PS_ON along with PS_SEATED to get it to start up.
That's where I'd start anyway! Good luck!!  Smiley

I look forward to kano-san's sage wisdom regarding this.  I suspect, though have no data, that it's possibly related to the forked up shitcoincrash that's being tossed about like a dirty diaper, which both smells and is as unwanted 'round these parts!
911  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: upgrading antminer s9 firmware on: August 01, 2017, 09:56:00 PM
If it's running fine and you're getting good numbers poolside, don't do it.  Firmware should only be done if you HAVE to.
912  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: August 01, 2017, 06:26:25 PM
Yeah, well you pays your money and you takes your chances.  Now that they got it I will must wait.  Hopefully not the full amount of time!
913  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: August 01, 2017, 05:17:49 PM
If you can deal with the extra noise and extra electricity cost, I would go with the T9.
The sick R4 is in a DC with my S9 so noise isn't an issue in this case.  Just another expensive shipping payment and then mining delay, what fun!!
Well after much delay my sick droid R4B4 is back at the Empire for scrapping.  After some polite back and forth regarding the issues with the R4 I was promised "just this one time" an S9, instead of a T9, for swap once returned on my dime.  It has just arrived today.
Wow, that's actually then quite in a good way handled situation after all?
It took a bit more back and forth, and referencing the original emails with the offer of an S9 this one time, but it is now official: I will be getting a new S9 in swap for my 1/2 running R4B4.  Of course there's a catch...  No stock available until, get this, October!!  Shocked
Update to come in September sometime.  Undecided
Until then, $$ and hashrate wasting away.  Tongue

919  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: July 26, 2017, 01:08:39 PM
I used to work in commerce, totally close enough for drop off or pickup!  Of course malfunctioning droid R4B4 was in the mines, not here at home.
