941  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: January 05, 2015, 05:26:44 PM
Offtopic: Until Bitstamp resumes where do Europeans go to exchange their BTC to fiat? I only user Bitstamp and GOX in the past and I don't know of any other reliable european exchangers.

Kraken-not sure how reliable it is and it is in US geographically (San Fran), but , paradoxically, mostly trades in BTC/euros.

I am afraid to use Kraken and I don't care about the EUR trades. I can trade and receive money in $ too. Guess I can use Coinbase too, but I don't like the fact that they take a peek into my transactions.

944  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: January 04, 2015, 10:12:07 PM
how in the fuck does that piece of shit BlackArrow seem to have a positive trust rating?

is it just me or is something fucked up with the trust system.  even his trusted ratings seem negative.

anyone?

Trust: 5: -1 / +5(5)

That's how I see it and that is totally wrong and out of this reality. I have no idea how the Trust system works, but this is wrong.

I'm considering hosting some hardware at Toom.im.  Any reason why or why I shouldn't?  Any existing customers of theirs have anything to say about them?

M

Yes, I definitely recommend them! Go for it.

Still waiting on mine.  3 hours or less.

Don't forget about the unclean 12V.

Unclean 12v... ouch....

Torture chamber...
Philip, please add to the OP list:

I understand that BMT offered you a free demo unit  Grin
It will become a tradition.

Suggestion for the review, use different PSUs, see if you can create "unclean" 12V.
Let's see how robust their string design is.

Thanks for all support nice to see the word legendary .

I have  a shit load of psu's.

I have some lower quality ones. I will see if I can cook up a wacky result.

Based on the s-3 design and the many I used tested upgraded the s-5 should be decent gear.
I have some preconceived pluses and minuses for the s-5 vs sp20E

It will be interesting to see If my imaginary ideas prove true.

philipma1957, I hope your low quality PSUs are ready. (My GB is still open...)

It is embarrassing the demo unit arrived half dead.

Since it's a demo unit, it was surely tested before shipping. Not a good sign at all...
956  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, 1155GH, Jan 8th shipping [Sales Open] on: December 29, 2014, 08:17:30 PM
EDIT: It did work for the first 10 minutes though....... Tongue

At least it worked for 10 minutes  Grin

1 PSU with 1 rail of 12v line connected to 1 side and another rail connected to the other side?

Please make sure, there is no cross over on PSU Line, between 1 side of the hash PCB and the other side.

Hope that is the cause...   Undecided Lips sealed

such is our luck....

*cough* string design *cough*

Consider yourself lucky it didn't explode like some AM Prisma 1.0.

958  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 29, 2014, 04:48:10 PM
So during the bankruptcy thing was there an audit on how were the money spent? Because I'm damn curious where would 40M-50M$ vanish while producing only a handful of miners.

Hey team,  I just received a scam PM -- please remember that no one should be sending payment requests via PM.  Here's the content of the PM from "Spondoulies-Tech" for your future reference:

Please report him to the mods. Thank you.

@ RoadStress

Will Spoondolies be sending the hardware direct to customers or will you be rerouting the hardware and reship it to it's final destination?

Shipping will be directly from Spondoolies Tech (as above mentioned)

Group Buy extended until 2015!
