hummm syscoin or bitbay? which to pick? Both attractive. More potential gains in Bitbay maybe? when is there market released? Im only interested in gains in MK
Both are great projects.. sys being a little further on its roadmap and now focusing on usage partnerships giving talks at conferences and raising funds for team to go fulltime. If you read whitepaper on sys target price is $1 usd for the mechanism design to be a factor... so that may be rough guide when it becomes a widely used marketplace.. ofcourse sys marketplace is the first commercial quality level blockchain decentralized marketplace in existance. LOL I have said it before and I'll say it again; sys is doing a very good marketing job. But claiming you are "the first commercial quality level blockchain decentralized marketplace in existance" is a bit over the top, don't you think? You don't really need to compensate for the fact that BitBay was the worlds first decentralized marketplace. You have a lot of cool stuff going on. Focus on that. I think 2017 will be a great year for both sys and Bay Happy new year sid ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Happy new year munti! Syscoin was released with a decentralized marketplace in august of 2014 while bitbay released a beta in january of 2015. So syscoin came first. It always bugged me when you claimed bay was first so I did a bit of research and found out the truth. Either way they are both unique projects with great development teams. My points still stand. I still hope david considers an open source model so it will become a more trusted and vetted project. Maybe i will add DDE the day he does haha Source: http://bitbay.market/timeline/Source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=587080.msg8391192#msg8391192Happy new year Sid! Hey just to chime in you are right about our date and here was news media confirming it a couple months later: http://motherboard.vice.com/read/this-decentralized-bitcoin-market-is-for-legal-stuff-onlyHowever I really don't remember sys having markets if you guys did were they functional?! Were users able to download it, post orders, see orders etc on the date you claimed? If so was there any news articles or even evidence of this? I'm definitely not trying to nitpick here my friend if you guys were first by a few months thats fine, I just never heard. From the VICE article: "BitHalo, BlackHalo, and BitBay certainly aren’t the first markets to attempt a decentralized approach, but they are the first to actually make it to public beta and do away with any transaction mediators in a single stroke. Shadow, another hyped decentralized market, is still closed for development. OpenBazaar, yet another, has been in beta testing for a year, but uses third party “arbiters” to mediate disputes between buyers and sellers, giving them the power to con users if they want." Also OpenBazaar was private beta, we were a year ahead of them since they wanted to get rid of bugs before their public release. To be honest I dont really care who was first, Halo was the first in a lot of things like smart contracts and still doesn't get the media press anyways. I'm just happy to work on finishing the project.

Merry xmas and happy newyears david and the team! From syscoin
Thanks Sid and good luck with your project! And also thanks to everyone on the forum, we are making tons of progress I expect 2017 to be our year.

2017 will be a very exciting year for BitBay. We will fork to POS3 in january, so check in often the next two weeks to keep updated. The fork will lay the groundwork for cold staking, pegging, and more ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Happy new year Will it really have the chance after all the decentralized market being created these days, it seem like there are much competition going on. It will be good if bitbay will progress though. imagine how much profit will an investor get if he invest today because the price is cheap. Yeah however our decentralized market is peer to peer, the others bloat the blockchain. And Bitbay has double deposit escrow 2 party escrow (unbreakable contracts), which is only found in Halo products. No other coin in the world has a smart contracting platform that actually has a UI and works. We are probably years ahead of the competition.

My issues arise when I try to cross-compile the QT wallet for windows using MXE.
I've had success with MXE cross-compilation by adding the MXE ppa deb http://pkg.mxe.cc/repos/apt/debian wheezy main to my apt-sources, installing the appropriate cross-compiler bundle and all the pre-compiled packages: boost, qt, libqrencode, miniupnpc. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FkR79ATC.png&t=663&c=0cPmXmPkBaFUdQ) I doubt whether I actually hand-selected every single installed package, I probably selected a bundle but I had a very sketchy model of the cross-compilation process at the time, so was sort of stabbing around in blind optimism (yes, it does sometimes pay off) and don't exactly recall what I did - other than, at the end of the exercise, I had a richly-populated /usr/lib/mxe/usr/lib folder which does the biz. It also has the useful side-effect of obviating the cross-compilation of the upnp & qrencode support libs. I have this for cross-compiling SLIMCoin: #!/bin/bash
# Working setup to cross-compile Windows binaries for Slimcoin hosted on a # Vagrant Ubuntu 16.04 VM using non-Canonical ppas for MXE and Qt5.7: # deb http://pkg.mxe.cc/repos/apt/debian wheezy main
# Doesn't seem to pass the QT directives through, though. Tough.
# Basic path bindings PATH=/usr/lib/mxe/usr/bin:$PATH MXE_PATH=/usr/lib/mxe MXE_INCLUDE_PATH=/usr/lib/mxe/usr/i686-w64-mingw32.static/include MXE_LIB_PATH=/usr/lib/mxe/usr/i686-w64-mingw32.static/lib # Belt and braces CXXFLAGS="-std=gnu++11 -march=i686" LDFLAGS="-march=i686" target="i686-w64-mingw32.static"

(The above probably includes more incantations than are strictly necessary but I have at least omitted the 1cc of mouse blood that I habitually include.)Oh, one last thing - all of the above assumes a VM with build-essentials, etc already apt-installed. HTH, Cheers Graham Thanks Graham! So it looks like I was finally able to build thanks to the advice everyone gave. The only thing I notice is I run out of memory a lot. This doesn't make sense because both my laptops are i7 with 8 gigs of DDR. I set my virtual machines for 3-5 gigabytes of RAM. Using VMWare on one I always got that segmentation fault which was obviously a memory issue. The same VM ran on my other computer ran out a few times before finally compiling correctly. The second computer fared well with VirtualBox. I get the feeling that they shouldn't come close to running out of memory with such trivial tasks.

it's saying your missing the file:
boost/mpl/list/aux_/preprocessed/plain/list10.hpp
from your terminal run:
$ locate list10.hpp
then copy it from where it's found to that directory, and try to compile again
Nope, I just don't think boost is installing properly. Its giving me a bunch of weird errors now. Is there a way to install boost and mxe that actually works? download and compile boost yourself, then install it in the mxe directory https://sourceforge.net/projects/boost/files/boost/run from boost directory: ./bootstrap.sh --with-toolset=gcc ./b2 --clean-all echo "using mpi ;" >> project-config.jam ./b2 --prefix=<mxe boost installation directory> --toolset=gcc link=static install
Okay thanks! Also I should mention the segmentation fault with the VM featured in this thread was due to an issue with my RAM on windows 7 running a virtual machine. So that laptop can compile the daemon but not the QT... kind of weird but *oh well*. There wasn't much help on Google about this however it became apparent when I ran the VM on my other laptop although it still compiles a bit clunky and freezes periodically. If it doesn't finish compiling will let you know about to sleep. Thanks again.

do this first before compiling report the bugs here > https://github.com/mxe/mxe/issuesI've done that, it didn't work. The error is in something missing from Boost. I wish there was a static way to install these things instead of making them.

This doesn't work for me, I get "i686-w64-mingw32.static-g++: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault" error 4 doesn't make any sense I'm used to building daemon, can't build qt for anything very frustrating. Should report the bug on github, very helpful devs there to go through the steps to find the issue and fix anything, keep screenshots, also there should be a log file that outputs the errors, make sure to save those. Thanks. Sure but which github? I'm not sure if thats an mxe issue or a VM issue or where to even ask. So I now checked on another VM wheezy I made a script (setup.sh) as follows: sudo apt-get install p7zip-full autoconf automake autopoint bash bison bzip2 cmake flex gettext git g++ gperf intltool libffi-dev libtool libltdl-dev libssl-dev libxml-parser-perl make openssl patch perl pkg-config python ruby scons sed unzip wget xz-utils sudo apt-get install g++-multilib libc6-dev-i386 cd $HOME/QT/ git clone https://github.com/mxe/mxe.gitcd mxe make MXE_TARGETS="i686-w64-mingw32.static" boost make MXE_TARGETS="i686-w64-mingw32.static" qttools cd .. wget http://download.oracle.com/berkeley-db/db-5.3.28.tar.gztar zxvf db-5.3.28.tar.gz cp compile-db.sh db-5.3.28/compile-db.sh cd db-5.3.28 chmod ugo+x compile-db.sh ./compile-db.sh cd .. wget http://miniupnp.free.fr/files/miniupnpc-1.6.20120509.tar.gztar zxvf miniupnpc-1.6.20120509.tar.gz cp compile-m.sh miniupnpc-1.6.20120509/compile-m.sh cd miniupnpc-1.6.20120509 chmod ugo+x compile-m.sh ./compile-m.sh export PATH=$HOME/QT/mxe/usr/bin:$PATH cd .. git clone https://github.com/rat4/blackcoin.gitcp compile-blk.sh blackcoin/compile-blk.sh chmod -R 777 blackcoin cd blackcoin ./compile-blk.sh So this fails with: /home/admin0/QT/mxe/usr/i686-w64-mingw32.static/include/boost/mpl/list/aux_/include_preprocessed.hpp:30:64: fatal error: boost/mpl/list/aux_/preprocessed/plain/list10.hpp: No such file or directory # include BOOST_PP_STRINGIZE(boost/mpl/list/AUX778076_HEADER) ^ compilation terminated. Makefile.Release:12634: recipe for target 'build/txdb-leveldb.o' failed make: *** [build/txdb-leveldb.o] Error 1 Its worth noting, boost skips over two packages when installing. I'm sorry but these instructions on this forum are just not to date. I have no clue how anyone got this to work. That is two VMs, one I downloaded here in the OP and the other was my own for building daemons and I followed the instructions exactly with failed boost install. Why do we have to compile this in the first place?? Its 2016 we should be in FLYING CARS. Its totally ridiculous that we get these kinds of errors. It's times like this I want to set my computer on fire and become a farmer.

This is a Linux Qt Wallet Automatic Compiler, it works for pretty much all Sha-256 & Scrypt Altcoins, it's very easy to use even a newbie with no Linux experience can do it with the guide. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=498746.0I can build for Linux just fine, also can build daemon. My issues arise when I try to cross-compile the QT wallet for windows using MXE. I tried the virtual machine listed here and it didn't help since I got that segmentation fault.

Wonder if bitcoin breaks 1000 today? once some serious investors start investigating other crypto projects I think that BAY will start to get some recognition.
Its a good thing, it means new people coming in.

Merry Xmas everyone. I just updated github for POS 3 and it will be live January 7th. That gives us two weeks to prepare for the fork. I'm just testing that build now. Also will release version 1.25 within a day or two. It's just minor fixes from 1.24 but mandatory update. If my tests go good with the new bitbayd it will also be packaged with the new markets build.

wasent there big controversy with wizkid too making a fuss about the direction devs were taking and priorities.
it only takes a few weak links and the whole chain implodes with a big fat pile of bag holders hitting the ground hard at the very bottom.
whether it be the devs having their sights out of order or people behind the scenes dictating irrationally.
His involvement in both bay and blacky under the guise of being a developer - not an insider - netted him sizeable gains at the expanse of a lion chunk of repo. Though I see him frequent at posting in both threads, and maintaining bay github repo respectively despite he doesnt get paid. What makes him active coinmaintainer is beyond me. Hes got a cliche on his neck due to which hes recognized mostly like bay associate, but seemingly doesn want to part with it. I dont know why. I don't part with it because the community wants to see Blackcoin successful. There are things far more important than money. I don't just work in BLK but also BTC and BAY. There is nothing wrong with maintaining 3 projects. I believe in finishing what I've started. If you even bothered to download BlackHalo and see how great it is you wouldn't say any of that. It's got more features than anything else in crypto.

A long standing decent coin and project like this and it is left in the trash, like wtf? What has happened here?
I think it died when david zimbeck was outed as a chinese pimp scammer ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif) what a bunch of bullshit this comment is. Everyone who followed that project and had a half brain knows Bobsurplus/Gekko and BTER were the ones to screw investors. There wasn't a shred of evidence for me to do anything wrong(including pumping) even with weeks of chat logs prostituted on bitcointalk. And the news also defended me (even Ian Demartino failed at finding anything of value and he clearly wanted to write a propaganda piece). And as for Bitbay, I still work on that project at a diminishing return (so where is the scam) and have committed over 10,000 lines of code to Halo in total being 20,000 lines of custom code in the main and another 20 in the GUI. Also my Blackcoin address is still at 300k coins even after years, I deliberately didn't sell my coins to let you guys cash out. So anyone who thinks that here is wrong. I'm so tired of propaganda, I work way too hard for so little. Also, I've always been hard core Blackcoin. It's just that nobody really did anything about the decentralized markets that you guys have and let syscoin pass us which makes absolutely no sense since we had decentralized markets a year before them or OpenBazaar. First off, it would have been nice to have people testing it. The only people who even cared to test them were in Bitbay. I realize that investors want to move from one coin to another however in Blackcoin we actually have tangible products with an extremely advanced client. Why didn't anyone bother to market it? I can't code and market you know. If you even bothered to download and test BlackHalo you wouldn't say such nonsense. And again not to reiterate, but the cold staking update will be out within a month. I'm currently testing voting for miners and exotic spending such as locktime support in the GUI.

So where do you guys speculate the price of BTC will goto?
Retest ATH?
Either way it ought to gain more attention from the world and let them see there are viable cheap alternatives that are just as good, if not, better
I hope BTC will drop down to 750 ish and stabilize there for a while and give the alts some room to catch up. BitBay could be huge in 2017, so we don't need BTC messing that up imo ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Well in theory a rolling peg should allow Bitbay to thrive in any market. So maybe the increased volume in Bitcoin helps altcoins in the long run. Honestly not sure why people sell alts during Bitcoin spikes

I can release a patch to the guarantor bug. It was because I accidentally deleted a hash for what I thought was a test and forgot it was the hash of a blank transaction. Just need to revert that change. I should be able to do some testing with this build in Mac in Linux over the next couple days and decide if we should update again. The build with the settings menu and exotic features is being worked on as well, should be done pretty soon. I give almost daily updates on slack about what I'm working on.

Obviousness is obvious.
Facebook last post - 2015 Twitter - last post June(Funny enough, last posted ended with a massive hype "cold staking" crowd goes wild and gone goes the dev) Website- half filled with dead links
Bitbay has been out since 2014 and whats it got to show? Nada, Zilch, squat, zip, zero and so on. Lots of fluff, no action.
Some one seems to be slowly accumulating though, could see a pump in the near future but i'd suggest you jump ship asap on any profits earned.
ya'll been warned, GL!
What it has to show is at least an additional 10,000 lines of code. Since then the amount of features in the client has doubled and it was the first decentralized market in crypto. Download the markets client and see for yourself As for the Twitter and Facebook and Website, I'm the dev but unfortunately I have no control over social media. There hasn't been any promotion, just coding. If you prefer projects that do marketing and no coding then you can find over 500 projects of vaporware on coinmarketcap. Regardless I've been looking into marketing more this year specifically getting more articles written.

Italy will not leave Euro any soon. We will just have votation for new governement November next year or in the beginning of 2018. Now, since last governement quit after losing the referendum, we have a new temporary goverement and not any intention to leave Euro. We have one big bank with some liquidity problems (Monte dei Paschi di Siena) and they are gonna save it soon using public money. That's al folks l have lost my faith long ago that any form of Gov that exist has done any good to its citizens,Govs and its entities are obsolete. l have a great faith on decentralized tech. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-12-12/eurozone-day-reckoning-coming-soon-showdown-between-italy-and-germany-loomsAgreed, that is exactly why I made this software. It sustains itself without 3rd parties and holds a stable value. Perfect for going off-grid and maintain an economy of any size, especially small

Heads up everyone the update to BlackHalo with cold staking is in my next update.
Last update was to the performance of our decentralized markets and RPC. No major bugs, its been running smoothly for a while the latest update was especially smooth. However I accidentally disabled guarantor contracts in the broadcast phase so avoid those until the next update
Will be sure to post on Reddit when its released. As a bonus I'm allowing miners to cast votes for whatever purpose they deem worthy (decentralized voting).
I rarely post here however I'm very much still a part of BLK
Have a happy Holidays
