941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone tried this LocalBitcoins alternative ? on: July 11, 2015, 11:03:32 AM
i am going to check them out but so far i have only sold my bitcoins in person and with cash,
unfortunately i could not yet find a good service (local) that i can sell my coins to with enough trust.

You sold at the wrong time man. Bitcoin just tested 290 and gonna break through 300 soon Wink

Yesterday, some Chinese exchanges have already tested 300+.
942  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is going on at blockchain.info ? on: July 07, 2015, 02:49:15 PM
I heard blockchain often get problem with their wallet & API services. Some merchant already stopped using their API because many problems.
Just do it manually or use other API Smiley

Unfortunately there is no proper send/receive API alternative of blockchain.info. People suggest to use bitcoin core, but it is not a viable soultion for all start-ups as it requires VPS implementation and continuously running cron, which is expensive. AFAIK, there is no JSON-RPC available for bitcoin core which call back a certain application URL, when an address receive balance, which is the advantage of using blockchain.info API.
943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins still unconfirmed after 5 hours? on: July 07, 2015, 12:25:47 PM
Hi I just sent 2.43 btc from localbitcoins to another wallet at 7pm it is now nearly 12 and it is still showing up as no confirmations on blockchain.
Don't think I've ever had it take this long in 3 years, any ideas what the hold up could be?

Here is a link to the transaction - https://blockchain.info/address/13okt3FMVCmbDsQQ3oXsvYroArTjVYj1xc

Thanks

Mine too - https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/e2438c4261288088e4a4fade7e137b9880095add5b335311fbdb4983b178884d

Seems like another stress test is going on. Backlog is building up on mempool. Most of the last blocks are 900+ KB.

It seems this Tx is still pending. What's going on ?
944  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is going on at blockchain.info ? on: July 07, 2015, 12:19:12 PM
Problems are back again. Funds are stuck.

Why do people use the receive api that requires blockchain.info to forward the btc to their address when they can use the wallet api that sends the btc directly to a btc address generated in your blockchain.info account?

Wallet API is used to send bitcoin, while Receive API is used to receive bitcoin.
945  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone successfully implemented blockchain.info's receive payments API? on: July 03, 2015, 06:42:10 PM
This seems to be a nice solution. Especially this one for PHP - https://github.com/Bit-Wasp/bitcoin-lib-php. But, does not it require to run this code as well as a Bitcoin daemon on two separate VPS instance ?

Nope. You can generate extended public keys from using a software, the PHP program you mentioned, for example. You can sign a transaction using corresponding private key in an offline machine using a software, https://github.com/bip32/bip32.github.io, for example.

I recommend you to read http://blog.richardkiss.com/?p=313.

I dont get it. How does an online website initiate transaction that is to be done offline ?

If we look at it as a replacement of blockchain.info receive API, the purpose it needs to serve is simple...

1. Generate an address for the user.

2. Get informed when there is an amount on that address as well as the amount itself.

3. Swipe the fund from this address to a pre-defined address.

Can the above be achieved online (as we need it for a website ofcourse) without running two VPS instance ? And even if I have a VPS, can Step 2 be done using https://github.com/Bit-Wasp/bitcoin-lib-php ?
946  Local / India / Re: KYC Norms / PAN Card for buying / selling Bitcoins on: July 03, 2015, 06:22:43 PM
I am finding my way around the Bitcoin ecosystem in India. Apologies if some of these questions are too basic. I would appreciate a gentle pointer in the right direction.

Just in case you are not informed, globally for almost all real time exchanges you need to submit identity proof to adhere to AML/KYC norms. In case you want to buy/sell small amount of bitcoin for personal use/storage, you may use direct trading exchanges like www.LocalBitcoins.com or www.100bit.co.in. There, you'll be performing direct trade with buyers/sellers where these identity submission is not required.
947  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Exchange Reviews Collection - the most complete! on: July 03, 2015, 03:33:08 PM
I think, you need to add 100bit.co.in. It is a great alternative to LocalBitcoins.

I'd be reuesting OP to add this as well. The first true LocalBitcoins alternative.
948  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone tried this LocalBitcoins alternative ? on: July 03, 2015, 03:26:26 PM
I wish local bitcoins had a Alt coin option. Step up your game local bitcoins!  Grin

LTC would def be a good start.

There is already one at www.litecoinlocal.net.

www.100bit.co.in allows litecoin trading as well...
949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 9 million USD per month is looking for ways to jump into Bitcoin on: July 03, 2015, 03:07:20 PM
It's a good news for bitcoin price, taking the traffic where others are failing, but there's now also question; do we want bitcoin to help in cases of prostitution,trafficking,etc..

And i doubt that bitpay is going to be onboard this one, since they are US based, and if they implement them, they will be the ones attacked next.
Bitcoin there will be probably used for payments, but the owners will have to exchange them manually i guess, and then they will probably be accused of money laundering, why? because that's USA, that's why.

cheers

The easiest solution I see to this problem is BackPage shifting their base out of USA.
950  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone tried this LocalBitcoins alternative ? on: July 03, 2015, 11:39:40 AM
Given that I have some tiny holdings of alt coins, the direct fiat - alt conversion really enticed me on using this exchange platform. However, the volume and number of customers is not that high compared to what is present in localbitcoins. Anyway, I just created an account there, hoping to see if people would begin on noticing this service. I must say that fiat - altcoin is its best feature I see.

I think you misread something. I use 100bit.co.in for INR-BTC conversion and there is significant rise of volume in this sphere. But, they dont offer direct fiat - alt conversion. You have to first convert Alt coins to Bitcoin and then Bitcoin to FIAT. Bitcoin is their primary medium of exchange.
951  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone successfully implemented blockchain.info's receive payments API? on: July 02, 2015, 06:35:57 PM
Better use hierarchical deterministic wallet. Advantages are:

 - You don't need to rely entirely on third party.
 - You don't need to expose private keys to create corresponding public keys(addresses).

Softwares for various languages are available here -- https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0032.mediawiki#Implementations.

Feel free to post here if you need any help.

952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make 100% anonymous transactions? Laundry services? on: July 02, 2015, 05:26:31 PM
also i think that 100bit.co.in, allow to sell altcoin, it is akin to localbitcoin
I dont hink Dash/Monero are still listed on 100bit.co.in. I'll request them to add those in their thread.

Bitcoin needs more anonymity features, coin mixers are cool but not enough. You still have to trust the mixer owner, it's not decentralized.
Probably DarkWallet was the best solution. But, the project was under funded and hence was most probably scrapped.
953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unconfirmed Tx not found in the mempool ! on: July 02, 2015, 05:20:06 PM
I have sent this payout few hours ago. This payment is still in unconfirmed state. Moreover, I cant find it in http://mempool.info either ! What's wrong ?

https://blockchain.info/tx/6cc52c1a3fb91585b93cabc0e4d6481f7cf84ca482301823a2a2c316b09ef953
The tx have confirmations now.
BTW blockchain.info don't show up all the transaction. The reject them for some reason (see https://blockchain.info/rejected) and one of the reasons is the fees are too low. Then, since your tx's fees are low, they rejected your tx when it was at the mempool. However, since it is confirmed in a block, blockchain.info shows it up again.

This Tx was not rejected by blockchain.info. Then, OP dint show the blockchain.info itself. It dint appear on mempool.info, which contains list of unconfirmed Tx. That is what OP was complaining about.
954  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: btcjam is scammer on: July 02, 2015, 05:01:47 PM
Probably they, as a platform, are not scammer. But, lots of scammers are there. They are a buggy service provider. It is better to use the Lending section of this forum with some trusted escrow - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=65.0
955  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone successfully implemented blockchain.info's receive payments API? on: July 02, 2015, 04:42:20 PM
You'd better go with a serious service like BitPay:

https://bitpay.com/api

Does it allow to accept bitcoin without conversion to FIAT ? I used to know bitpay is used to convert a bitcoin payment instantly to FIAT.
956  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make 100% anonymous transactions? Laundry services? on: July 02, 2015, 04:21:36 PM
BitLaunder is most likely owned by Michael Moriarity and there are many allegations against it. It is better to use BitMixer. Moreover, you can use wallet of various exchanges, which does not require your ID, to mix your coins.
Yeah but you first have to buy your coins. Unless you are getting paid directly in BTC for some work or service that isn't officially registered (a freelancer accepting BTC or whatnot) how do you get your BTC anonymously first? I don't see any other way beyond doing a p2p transaction in real life, unless you can tell me any other way. As far as I know p2p exchanges still don't work. Coinffeine is still vaporware as far as i know.

First of all, you may get your salary in Bitcoin. Use BitWage.co for that.

Apart from that, you can buy from direct trading exchanges like LocalBictoins.com, 100bit.co.in etc. If you buy small amounts from 100 different people and then mix the accumulated fund, you are more or less anonymous.
957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 9 million USD per month is looking for ways to jump into Bitcoin on: July 02, 2015, 04:10:09 PM
2.) Even if they do switch to BTC I'm unsure if it'll do the price any good as they'll most likely dump everything back into fiat through a company like Bitpay. If they kept even 5% of money received as BTC then that'd be very positive.

BitPay does not dump bitcoin... They give it to their FIAT investors to HODL

958  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 100bit.co.in - Direct trading exchange - 0.1% fee - Alt coins supported on: July 01, 2015, 11:49:01 PM
I'd like to know other 100bit.co.in traders on BitcoinTalk. If you are reading this... u may counter post against this or PM.

I'm trading against GBP on 100bit.co.in. Which currency you are trading on ?

I'm trading against INR.

How is the volume against INR ?

Still low. But, slowly gaining momentum.

The new period is now up to date

Payment has been made: ab6231e39ae3f927b24b599ae123564bb09286d4267f7f9657e5830b4414ae63

Thanks. Payment received. Here is a small suggestion...

BitDice is probably now the only licensed casino in bitcoin sphere. So, how about adding that information in the signature we are wearing. This would probably make BitDice to stand apart from the crowd. Just a thought...
