941  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs NFTs on: September 10, 2023, 07:16:44 AM
@avikz. It is very arguable if NFTs offer zero value or not because for collectors, they offer cultural value and what the market appears to show us, they also offer financial value. The cryptospace might be redefining the idea of value very much similar to how money has value. It is an abstraction similar to how Pokemon cards have value for their collectors who are willing to buy, sell and trade them.

In any case, similar to what was mentioned, another judge might do the SEC's job for them and uncle Gary might lose another case.

942  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Updated] FTX on: September 10, 2023, 06:49:20 AM
@bbc.reporter, I don't know about this guy but I just discovered one more interesting detail. In addition to the four senior leaders of FTX who have pleaded guilty, we also have a very rarely mentioned character, Sam Trabucco. This is the official CEO of Alameda, and Caroline Ellison was only CEO of Alameda for a year before FTX went bankrupt. So far, Sam Trabucco has not been arrested, and the question is whether he knew something, or if there was a larger force backing him.

Another piece of information I just found is that the SBF trial will take place in March 2024 instead of October 2023 as expected.

That is the other Sam, the Sam who retired before everything went to shit with Alameda and when they took billions in loans and used FTX's illiquid token FTT as collateral. It might also be possible that other Sam is a secret agent working for the government. Once his work was done and knew what would happen to FTX, he resigned. Why is the SEC or another government agency not asking questions about him?
943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask! on: September 10, 2023, 06:09:42 AM
I guess the SEC will approve all of them, all at the same time.
Approving one of them before the other it will mean picking a winner, something the SEC isn’t clearly intended to do as they would be subject to an handful of potentially disruptive litigations.
So I guess Grayscale discount is a good indicator for all the ETF approvals.

Yes, as I have said, it might be good for the followers of this thread to have something similar to the wall observer thread where you update the information on GBTC's percentage on net asset value vs. bitcoin.

I reckon an update twice a month might be enough. This would certainly open much discussion and speculation. It might also help some people to know when to buy bitcoin hehehe.
944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 10, 2023, 05:52:34 AM
@Rampagoe004. Agreed and what has just occurred might be the biggest upset in the history of UFC championship fights in Australia, near where Izzy lives and resides. The Australian fans accepted it and cheered for Sean Strickland when he made his speech.

Also, no it is not yet UFC 294. What awaits us on next fight week is much bigger. It will be 2 sexy fighting kittens and for this @pawel7777 cannot do anything if I post their sexy pictures hehehe.
945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: September 09, 2023, 04:45:08 AM
The poll has 38 votes and the statistics are quite stunning:

Tyson         - 21 (55.3%)
Ngannou    - 17 (44.7%)

I am surprised at the number of members that have rated Ngannou to have a chance to cause an upset when he will be facing Tyson Fury in the ring. He might get some success within the fight here and there but it will be a big task for him to win.
I will give my vote to Ngannou. Now the poll looks like this:
Tyson - 21 (53.8%)
Ngannou - 18 (46.2%)

and still Fury has an advantage, although not a big one. Fury and Ngannou met for the first time yesterday, and Ngannou pointed out Fury's overweight, and Fury, as always, was very verbose in response.  Grin

Fury also said that he would like to fight Ngannou according to the UFC rules, that he is confident that he will defeat him. Self-confidence is good, but I think that in this case Fury simply won’t have a chance.

This is only trashtalk from Fury hehe. I am 100% certain Tyson Fury will not win in MMA against Francis Ngannou. MMA gloves are different. Ngannou might kill Fury with one knockout punch and it will be Tommy Fury bringing the stretcher to carry his brother to the hospital hehehehe. Ngannou can also shockingly wrestle and he did this with only one healthy knee vs. Cyril Gane.
946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: September 09, 2023, 04:02:16 AM
Meanwhile:

Marlon Tapales spars with Mark Magasayo in preparation for undisputed showdown with Inoue

Quote
Tapales, the current WBA and IBF world super bantamweight titleholder, is headed towards a mega showdown with Japanese pound-for-pound superstar and unified super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue targeted for December in Japan.

He is currently in the US for training camp and has recently sparred with former featherweight champion Mark Magsayo at the famed Wild Card Boxing in Los Angeles, California.

"It is good to see two world champions sparring. They both have power and skill, and we are thankful to Mark [Magsayo] and coach Marvin [Somodio] for giving us the opportunity to spar," Tapales' head coach Ernel Fontanilla said.

Source: https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/sports/boxing/881350/marlon-tapales-spars-with-mark-magasayo-in-preparation-for-undisputed-showdown-with-inoue/story/

I reckon this is the best news that I have heard from the side of Marlon Tapales and his team. This implies that they are taking this very serious and they will try to win this fight. However, nothing presently can beat the Monster Inoue and my only wish for Marlon Tapales' fans and bettors is for Tapales to bring a better fight than Stephen Fulton did.

In any case, where is the confirmed venue for this fight?

Also, what are the latest updates on the negotiations? I am tired of searching and everything I read are only rumors.
947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask! on: September 09, 2023, 03:03:34 AM
@fillippone. With speculations that bitcoin ETF approval is near, it might be good to update the thread weekly on how much GBTC's discount or premium on net asset value. I reckon this will be a good indicator to use if Barry's insiders think ETF approval is getting closer.

It does not need to be the approval of Grayscale's ETF, I reckon it will be any ETF because the approval of 1 will be the approval of much of them.
948  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs NFTs on: September 09, 2023, 02:20:41 AM
But if there are clear cut laws, then for sure NFT or projects are going to carry it out within the boundaries so that they won't violate any laws established. But for now, it seems that we are in the western type of era. SEC can swing at anyone they want, and then projects, some of them might be pulling out scams after scams.
I believe that is the key problem. No regulation certainty allows many things to happen, either abuse from the government or just scams running around with little to no incentive to stop them. Things like this should not last that long. I don't know why it takes so long for regulations to come out either, considering other countries already propose many bills to be approved. On the other hand, people need to improve their awareness so they don't have to rely on the law to avoid easy-to-spot scams like NFT airdrop, etc. CMIIW.

Yes, there is no clear regulations and that's why projects are taking advantage of it, be it they are going to scam or not. So at the end of the day, it boils down as to how and what will be the regulations and when it will be promulgated by the SEC or any governing body for that matter.

So for now, as I have said, it's free for all, but when crypto regulations are point into place by different countries, this scammers will have no way to steal money from crypto investors again.

However, securities frauds and scams also happen in traditional finance. The only difference is the scammers  in traditional finance are our rulers, the people who are fixing the game against you. They do not want the clowns like Arthur Hayes, CZ and Justin Sun to run the scams. They want to monopolize the scams and have all control and power over it.

@Marvell1. We cannot be quite certain in what mental condition Sam is presently right now, however, we can be very sure prison is not a very good place for him.

In any case, does anyone in this thread know Martin Shkreli? He was a hedgefund manager who commited securities fraud and who is also quite known and admired in the cryptospace. He has recently been doing twitter spaces where he talks about updates on Sam in prison.

The information comes from his source, a person he also met in prison.

Here is one of the spaces.

950  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: September 08, 2023, 06:26:08 AM
The latest news or rather an update I just saw in one of the news channel I am following on telegram said that the FBI says North Korean hackers 'Lazarus Group' are behind Stake․com's $41 million crypto theft.

I don't know how true this is since there is no reference link or site attached to the news yet ..

But my question now is, if this supposedly turns out to be true, is there any chance of stake getting that money back?, Since the group behind the hack has been uncovered or discovered ?

I have mentioned in another thread that it appears anything can be blamed on North Korea. FBI can say the Lazarus Group did it and the hacking group is from North Korean's cyber offensive division. We cannot really prove or disprove it and I am afraid that there is a bigger agenda behind this fear tactic. I am not quite certain what, however, we can be sure that it will be something about bringing stricter rules on the cryptospace.
951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The next trending storyline in DeFi might be RWA on: September 08, 2023, 06:16:20 AM
@passwordnow. Agreed, this is why it is called gambling, risk taking or speculating hehe. However, if Larry Fink mentions that they can see a future towards tokenization, we can be quite certain that inflows of funds will certainly go into protocols that implement RWA.

However, another speculation. Where and what blockchains would much of these RWA projects be created? I reckon some people from traditional finance already know.

On the news about the Lazarus Group and how the American government is using this for fud and fear tactics, It appears we have another one. The FBI identified that it was the Lazarus Group that hacked stake.com. I shake my head. I am not implying that this is fake news, however, anything can be blamed on North Korea.

The FBI is issuing this release to warn the public regarding the theft of approximately $41 million in virtual currency from Stake.com, an online casino and betting platform. The FBI has confirmed that this theft took place on or about September 4, 2023, and attributes it to the Lazarus Group (also known as APT38) which is comprised of DPRK cyber actors.

There are also other articles that say these hacked cryptocoins are being used for funding North Korea's nuclear missile program.

I question my decision on drafting Deshaun Watson instead of Trevor Lawrence for by qb1. I wish he is allowed his regular schedule of power massages before practice similar to when he was in Houston. It is good for the mind hehehe.

Watson is a SERIOUS gamble and I would not play him until he proves himself.

Just a bit of advice.

Why did you edit your post and scratched Massage Watson as a serious gamble? Did you get information making him a very lucky pick? I had the decision between Massage and Lawrence, however, why would the Browns make him one of the highest paid quarterbacks if he cannot perform as expected? They also accepted him despite the sexual molestation cases.

Massage for MVP!

I crossed it out after you mentioned your backup was Stafford and I checked the Waiver wire and you literally have nothing but gambles for choices.

@wheelz1200. Your bet is alive with the Lions leading by 1 point, however, the turnover on the 45th yard line with around 3:00 left will be a challenge. The defenders are doing a very good job, however. What were the odds for Lions moneyline?

Okay only 2:00 left in the game, the Lions has the ball. I want Patterson field goal from 30 or longer.

News update.

FTX executive Ryan Salami has pleaded guilty and has made a deal to become the next whistleblower against Sam. My speculation only hehehe.

In any case, according to this documentation, he owes the American government $1.5 billion, however, the government has accepted these substitute assets worth $6 million as full payment. This is head shaking. We can only speculate on what other agreements were made in this settlement.

Substitute assets that were mentioned are 2 houses, equity interest in East Rood Farm corporation and a 2021 porsche 911 hehehehe.

It also appears Cooper Kupp this year will be something similar to Jonathan Taylor last year.

Cooper Kupp's pesky hamstring issue seems to be getting more complicated by the week.
First things first: Kupp will not play in Los Angeles' season opener against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Rams coach Sean McVay announced Wednesday

956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I think Defi and NFTs will be the most important elements in the cryptospace on: September 07, 2023, 03:01:30 AM
Despite my speculations on real world assets in DeFi has changed only because Blackrock and other firms from traditional finance are beginning to support it, the original argument about the value of assets native to the cryptospace has not.

In any case, this article mentioned that Justin Biebert's produce is selling the song Company as NFTs and the holders will earn royalties from sales through streaming services.

I reckon this might set up a new precedent for the music and movies industries and it also shows that if successful, it has shown a very good usecase for the democratization of funding and ownership through NFTs.

Ever wanted to own a tiny slice of a Justin Bieber song? Writer and producer Andreas “Axident” Schuller is set to sell NFTs that will grant owners a percentage of future streaming royalties to Justin Bieber’s hit song “Company.”

Schuller, who has also worked with the likes of Pitbull and Jason Derulo, has teamed up with blockchain-based music rights platform AnotherBlock to sell a 1% total portion of the streaming royalty rights to Bieber’s “Company” via 2,000 Ethereum NFTs.

Each ERC-721 token will be available to purchase from 0.017 ETH (about $28) and give each holder 0.0005% of future streaming proceeds from digital service providers like Apple Music, Tidal, and Spotify. As it stands, royalty payments will be made every six months—but AnotherBlock has previously teased “major updates” on this front.

957  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs NFTs on: September 07, 2023, 02:16:36 AM
@zasad@. I predict that this will be another case where the SEC will try to stretch the securities laws but when the companies requests for guidance to avoid breaking the law, the SEC refuses to give it to them.

The SEC then will make an indictment, they will face a judge and this judge will do uncle Gary's job again for him and declare that these tokens are not by themselves securities.
958  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will another ETF be immediately bullish for Bitcoin? on: September 07, 2023, 01:53:37 AM
@dragonvslinux. However, if at the very least one of the applications was quite certain to be approved this year, should the market not begin to move more positively in anticipation to the approval?

Similar conditions for GBTC and Barry's group because if there is one ETF that will approved, GBTC converting into an ETF is 100% certain. Watch the movement of GBTC from discount to premium. This might be the first signal.
959  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The next trending storyline in DeFi might be RWA on: September 07, 2023, 01:08:38 AM
@passwordnow. I would agree that the early investors on RWA are gamblers, however, if the inflow of fiat and stablecoins are increasing quickly from $5 billion total value locked to more than $500 billion total value locked, I reckon this would be a gamble that will give you a higher chance of winning if you are early.
960  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Updated] FTX on: September 06, 2023, 04:05:36 AM
News update.

James Jani made a video that summarizes the story behind FTX and it also speculates what might happen to CZ and Binance for being the trigger of the collapse of FTX and Alameda Research which might have also been caused by Sam himself for using his political connections to lobby against his competitors. However, FTX was also not in a very good financial condition. It would have fallen later if CZ did not dump Binance's holdings of FTT and it would have left them with tokens of no market value.
