981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19: Avoid casino, play online on: March 14, 2020, 01:24:59 AM
Hmm, we got different point of view regarding this matter. You are right, only 2% (or below as far as I know) is the mortality rate of Covid 19 so panicking is unnecessary at all.
Yes, but you forgot one important part.
The mortality rate is low and it mostly affects the elderly. Chances are if you get infected that you will recover. But what if you infect your dad, grandmother or the old neighbor next door. Will he recover considering that most of the dead are aged 70+? That is a gamble I am not willing to take.
Fair enough, I agree with you on that one. So as a young and healthy person, you should be responsible. But as long as you wear protection such as gloves and masks, wash your hands regularly and maintain good immune system you will be free from the disease. Don't get me wrong guys, I understand why most of us are scared to go outside. What I think is too much is when their effectiveness and mindset as an individual is degraded.
[snip]
Mass hysteria regarding the virus could literally be seen in our country, with facemasks and alcohol/sanitizers being bought out and having the police to intervene about the hoarding some of the buyers do.
That's my another concern. Even our president already told us that there will be a price freeze on these necessities and the supply was not a problem as well since shipping of such goods will continue in a normal basis, they still panic buy Sad. They are now losing focus. What I'm worrying about is the poor, how about them? It's very sad to know that most of them are already panicking but are not capable of buying. Yeah! Some of them are capable of buying small amounts but another problem is out of stock of such goods. *sigh
982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19: Avoid casino, play online on: March 13, 2020, 09:57:09 AM
Additionally,  corona is more dangerous than it looks like: only 2% of infected are dying because there is still few people contained.
Hmm, we got different point of view regarding this matter. You are right, only 2% (or below as far as I know) is the mortality rate of Covid 19 so panicking is unnecessary at all. Actually, SARS is more fatal than it (around 10% I think) that's why I'm confused why people are acting like it's the end of the world already Cheesy. Why they panic sell and too scared to go outside? Remember, the virus is not airborne, it can be only obtained through droplets so as long as you cover your mouth and wash your hands at all times then everything is alright. Well, I understand that they are just making sure they will be prepared when the worst case scenario happen but I hope people do not buy it too much because it creates more fear thus leaving a stigma.
983  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc dropping more then 39% in 24/h - on: March 13, 2020, 07:13:44 AM
I have seen many BTC dumps, but this one is hurting! Earlier this year we started with a price around $7000 and dropping below that now, is a bit of a ball breaker for a lot of us, but we have seen this before and we survived the previous dumps, so this is just going to be a repeat of that.
Yeah! It hurts the most of us so bad because I'm pretty sure no one want's a lame market, 2020 s*cks Sad. Imagine, we are approaching the bitcoin halving but we fall down again. I feel sad that we lose our momentum so I think we will not land on the moon in the near future. I don't want to become so negative but I'll understand if the price hike caused by the halving this year will not that so big due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, I'm ready whatever wilk happen. I'm just sitting here and continue observing.
984  Economy / Economics / Re: Coin prices down 25% to 30% this morning. on: March 13, 2020, 05:07:08 AM
Buying opportunity approaching!  I just need to learn when to sell at the right time.
Indeed Smiley. Instead of hoarding alcohols and toilet papers why don't we start hoarding coins right now. It doesn't create panic and fear plus you could generate earnings in the future. Better move, isn't it?
I opened up coinmarketcap this morning, saw all the red, and said "holy fucking shit".
Honestly, I haven't visit the price chart recently but when I check it right this very moment, bitcoin already drop by 34%. OMG Shocked! The price go back again to $5000 *sigh. Anyway, if you already get used to this kind of scenarios you won't panic at all. Chill guys, let's take advantage of it.
985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Coronavirus and it’s impact on sporting events - please add on: March 13, 2020, 03:37:59 AM
Upcoming UFC fights are affected. Though it was not postponed but based on what I've understand the fights will continue however there will be no spectators on the given setting at all. All we can do is to watch it via computer or mobile devices. For more info check this out: https://www.facebook.com/176272595900226/posts/1247955375398604/?app=fbl

I'm a little bit worried on Khabib vs Ferguson fight. It seems that they are really meant to fight each other lol Grin. The universe is not allowing them to do so.
986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin a failed experiment? on: March 13, 2020, 01:36:34 AM
Today I'm thinking of selling my BTC even though it would be a big loss right now I've been with BTC a while and used to the volitility but this time I believe it's different
Well, if that's your final decision then so be it. Who are we to stop you anyway? I just hope you won't regret this after looking on btc booming in the future. I wonder why you lose hope and have negative feelings suddenly. I presume you are btc investor for a quite a long time already so why backing out now? Sad
Now I feel that BTC will trend down hitting sub 1 dollars prices possibly even 0 over the next 12 to 18 months.
Uh uh uh Grin, not that fast my friend. Okay let's assume that btc will fall that hard in the future (though for me it's slightly impossible), I don't think it will happen within a year. The worst bloodbath I saw was on 2017 and yet btc survived, then what more during these times?
987  Economy / Economics / Re: WHO encourages use of digital payments due to COVID19 on: March 12, 2020, 02:28:09 PM
This kind of approach is hitting two birds with one stone. It prevents the spread of the contagion and it also helps in promoting the use of cashless transaction, thus in turn promotes cryptocurrency which is a very big step for the establishment and stabilization of cryptocurrency to the general public.
Indeed Smiley. It's WHO! That is not just a small celebrity or icon who is trying to hype the use of crypto but an international organization. It surely contribute a lot of positive feedback on crypto. For me this is the best form of advertisement we could get at this moment so let's cherish it while it lasts. I am not saying that I want the virus last longer, what I am pointing is I hope crypto will be adopt continuously even if the virus was totally cured. *sigh At least we can still see good things happening despite of the negativity in the first 3 months of 2020. God is good after all.
988  Economy / Economics / Re: Can corona virus or any other epidemic disease can collapse Banking? on: March 12, 2020, 12:30:47 PM
Imagine Corona virus or any epidemic disease affected globally. As a result, all the economy will be affected and people will face hard time. Will not it bring an affect in economic balance?
Of course, you can think of it by simple logic. If there is a pandemic (Corona virus in this case) happening what tend to happen is that most of countries will freeze. Different industries will be forced to stop and will later result to economic crisis.
In my country, the situation is getting worse for product which we are depended on China. I can see a significant inflation here if Corona Virus issue continued.
Expect the worse dude Sad. Inflation is just the beginning, what I'm scared of is if we reach the point where each and everyone become insane because of scarcity. The moment when people have no choice but to rob, deceived others and even kill just to acquire their necessities. Eeehh I don't know how severe the situation in China is, but I hope it will calm down ASAP.
989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does anyone pay for slandering gambling websites on Bitcointalk? on: March 12, 2020, 10:44:40 AM
In several threads in the gambling section, I noticed "Newbie" accounts that try to slander the name of the gambling website in any possible way.
I sometimes see such kind of scenarios more particularly on the Reputation/Scam Accusations section but I never think that they intentionally do it simply because they are the one who complain so I presume that they are the victim. When it comes to talk of using newbie accounts, my opinion about that is this they only use such accounts in order to protect their own security or at least their btctalk account. In short, they are only playing safe IMO Smiley.

Hmm if slandering websites is really a  new trend of earning from doing shady stuff then this is scary definitely. Fake news greatly affect the image of a certain site. Whether the accusations are hoax or proven right, the fear has been scattered already and sooner or later it will cause for disaster on behalf of the founder and its developers. I just hope this kind of modus are not true at all Sad.
990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you do ? on: March 12, 2020, 03:52:35 AM
Hmm, sounds interesting for me huh. I can smell a huge amount of money for this kind of loopholes *evil laugh.

But kidding aside, I will report it and never ever try to take advantage of the bug (until now I have no ideas how could this possibly happen, well it was just a hypothetical scenario so never mind). In every aspect of life that we do, integrity is the most important thing to preserve because this where purity of your conscience depends. Even I knew that gambling gives me the tiniest rate of winning, I don't care as long as the money I earned and I lose came from good. I always fight fair and square, I will never do such thing simply because of being immoral Smiley.
991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another successful Bitcoin seminar! on: March 11, 2020, 03:28:29 PM
Wait a minute, do you think is it safe to conduct such kind of gathering in the midst of Corona virus outbreaks across the globle. Well, there's notjing to worry about tho if your country got no cases of infection at all. Just keep being careful at all times Smiley. Nevertheless, I admire what you did. You are a hero for me Shocked.
So since I don't charge then money, I also tell them that I don't have any direct gain from telling them because if they sign up on bitcointalk, make a bitcoin transaction,  or do some bounty tasks here, I won't be given referral bonus / bonuses.
I bow down. Imagine, you also promoted our beloved forum and enlighten them about it. Big respect for you mate. Now I expect that we get more upcoming members in the future, I just hope they are all good and don't have bad intentions because I really hate cancer-like people. More members means more fun because knowledge existing here inside will expand further Smiley.
992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would You Rent A Car With Bitcoin? on: March 10, 2020, 10:34:30 PM
Adopting cryptocurrency in any kind of application will never be a bad decision. So for your question, of course! It was a good feature for car rentals to accept btc. Though only few will get relate to this for sure since this is a new technology, don't get tired of telling customers that you accept btc because it is already a big contribution for the mass adoption. Whether there is only one or even none used this kind of feature, that's okay at least you are promoting the btc after all Cheesy. It will yield fruitful outcomes in the future.
993  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not blame it on Corona outbreak on: March 10, 2020, 02:01:24 PM
Alot of blogs and articles are referencing the facts that the present dip in prices is related to corona virus outbreak. But I do not believe so
I believe It's not just the virus, all these things were going to happen,
the virus just lit the match and acted as a catalyst
I believe this is not a coincidence, everything happens for a reason. If the spread of Covid 19 contribute a lot for the sudden reduction of carbon emissions of China then what more for its economy — what more for the Chinese crypto whales. Bur honestly this is not what I expected from the very start. I thought we can see silver linings on the recent happenings but there's none. What I think of is that people tend to be more active in front of their computers and focus on trading but I'm all wrong. What seems right now is that most of them are immobilized thuse becoming unproductive Sad.
994  Economy / Economics / Re: South Korea quarantines and burn their cash due to Coronavirus on: March 10, 2020, 11:11:32 AM
BOK said that they are putting their currency in a high-heat laundering process before releasing it and adding it to the circulation. It is said that the virus dies in high temperature and similar viruses like SARS emerges during cold weather and then dies during the hot season.

South Korean COVID-19 cases are increasing so I think it's a good thing to do to lessen the possibility of spreading the virus. Although by this, the virus won't be totally stopped from spreading but this is a big help especially for countries highly affected by the virus.
I think their fiat currency undergoing a form of disinfection is a good move but burning them is not. Don't get me wrong, I understand their reason of doing so but do you guys think it's necessary? Does so called high heat laundering process isn't effective in every single piece of paper money? I'm getting a little bit skeptical about that because the difference between old and new money is not so significant. I'm not an expert, just a curious reader out here Smiley.

I just hope this is not the only precautionary measures they do. Yeah! Money is dirty but there are still dirtier things to it such as door knobs/hand railings and public rest rooms. I hope they also make actions regarding this matter.
995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: March 10, 2020, 09:27:04 AM

Me too, I'm shocked with the result. I never think that SMB can't have a chance to beat MAG but mate their 16 point lead until the clock stops is what I didn't exp3ct at all Shocked. It was so impressive that they already build a good team harmony after the absence of Fajardo. Props to Mo! He really did a great job yesterday night. He is now proving us that he can also fulfill Abay's duty so for me he definitely deserved to get respect. It is not a "chamba", he is good and improving further.
I got carried away with my feelings, I was too confident on the capability of the Magnolia this all Filipino Cup but I was disappointed.

Yeah, you were carried away especially knowing that they will face an SMB without the Kraken Cheesy. But seriously? You are rooting for Magnolia this conference? Yeah they got Bachero as their added force for their team but I don't feel him at all (based on what I observed). IMO a Krakenless Beermen is still stronger than the current roster of Magnolia.
I would say I have a bad start of the season, I loss a big amount of money but that was just the first game, I think I should stick with my strategy to bet on the underdog.
That's okay, we're the same (maybe just not as huge as yours). I will be more careful next time. I won't always bet on the underdog like you've said, I will stick on GSM instead lol.
996  Economy / Economics / Re: Start investing so you can quit your job and retire early. on: March 10, 2020, 06:16:43 AM
You want to quit your job and take care of your valuable life to do what you want to do in life, then you should start investing and start generating your passive income that can give you stream of cash flow every months without working, so that you can begin to planning your life and travel to enjoy what the exciting world await your visit. Don’t wait until you’re too old, start investing and living the life of your dream.
That's the best plan you could do to generate more money. I know that there's no risk-free business at all but facing the risks is worth if you succeed. So for those weak hearted or those who don't have the confidence of establishing their own business, be courageous and continue pursuing Smiley. Don't worry about the losses because it can be prevented after all. Just like the old saying, "Work smarter, not harder". Let the money work for itself.
997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19 and its effect in Gambling World on: March 10, 2020, 12:46:02 AM

This is good for the crypto gambling world ...
[snip]
You're right and people do believe thats how it work when in talks of online casino where they do directly think of about crypto gambling online without even
knowing first that there were digital fiat online casinos for the time being or been a while. So they wont be sure if they switch to crypto or would just simply
jumped in into traditional gambling online for temporary basis until this issue or epidemic would be resolved.
Who knows? Don't be so negative, this is our of getting more adopters so why not Grin. You've a got a point tho but chances for them to shift of at least try cryptocurrency as their form of bet while gambling is big especially if the online site they used have that kind of option. Besides, lots crypto gambling sites spread all over the Internet so it's impossible for you that you won't encounter one while searching where you play.
998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: March 09, 2020, 09:12:53 AM
This may be weird but I'm currently rooting for Boston Celtics to get on the final with lakers and if they win that championship game, Tacko Fall will have the huge success of his life in the NBA. in the playoff anything can happen, as you can see while they play, they give all of their best. just take a look when they fast break they assuring to shoot the ball with their high-speed running to the basket and sometimes they fall really hard but that's not important, that's how playoff game should be. That's why anything could happen, as of today they are number three in the eastern conference.
That's okay, it's not weird at all because they really had a good chance of becoming the representative of the East in the Finals Cheesy. Honestly, my prediction would be only between Celtics and Bucks in the Finals. Yeah! I understand if some of you will say that  it Bucks for the win (because I can feel it too) but for me it was not 100% assured. It is early to make fearless predictions because it is still a long journey for all the teams. I'm sure that Kemba and the rest won't allow their team to have the same fate like last year, right? They lack big superstars but this is basketball after all — at the end of the day effective teamwork conquers all.
999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: March 09, 2020, 05:48:30 AM
I lose my bet on this game, I was thinking Magnolia would easily beat the SMB but I was wrong, they showed that they can still dominate inside and Moala Tautuaa was just so smart with the pick and roll plays, all of them did great especially the 3 point shooting, that kills the Magnolia as they don't shoot 3s pretty well and the SMB's defense is really good.
1000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 09, 2020, 03:11:14 AM
@notblox1. Star Trek fans will understand what Weili made of Joanna's head after the fight hehehe.
Mate I'm not a Star Trek fan but it really makes me cringe every time I saw her face (now even more since you don't resized the pic lol Grin). I know Zhang got also a damged face but she got worse. She's now a bubble head.
It also appears that uncle Dana has taken the opportunity to create a new storyboard about Paulo Costa after the boring main event hehe.
He definitely should. You know what, I think it's always a good idea to matched up fighters which really hate each other because that's where the heat and intensity of every fight came from. If I were Dana, I will set Costa vs Adesanya now and let them settle their trashtalking inside the octagon Grin. Besides, it will benefit him because for sure it will catch a lot of attention from UFC fans all over the world.
