I really like the year of the snake. I missed out on buying some earlier last year when the premiums were much lower Smiley
983  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trading to Astrology / Moon Cycles on: October 28, 2014, 08:55:36 PM
Look, moon cycles definitely have an effect on human emotions. And markets are a great deal driven by emotions not logic.

So moon cycles have an effect on trading.

However, moon cycles are one of many factors one should consider.  Moon cycles are likely to add fuel to a fire, so to speak.

So anyone trading strictly by moon cycles would be similar to someone trading just on 1 hr MACD. Probably not going to be extremely successful.

Good point. I'm really tempted to do some plotting against a bitcoin or silver chart now!

Thanks for the input. I'd have to agree.

So how is Ix doing? Seeing a lot of positivity.

Remember I am selling silver Gox Coins and accept Ix here:

Why are you dragging your equally clueless wife in to this?

Why not? Wifes are generally a lot of fun.
987  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bigtimespaghetti speculation thread on: October 28, 2014, 07:56:57 PM
Thought I'd post a coin pick:

2015 Year of the Goat Perth Mint 1oz silver coin.

Will be picking up a roll or two- seems the limited mintage edit: 300,000 mintage and Perth Mint prestige could make this a good purchase. Premiums not too high either.
988  Economy / Speculation / Re: No One Knows on: October 28, 2014, 06:31:01 PM
Why speculate?

No one knows what will happen. You know no more than myself or my equally clueless wife. All we can do is best guess.

As you're posting this in the Bitcoin speculation subforum, my answer is in that context. I'd say some speculate because it's a gamble, even thrilling if you will, and not because anyone really knows how it will turn out (unless it's someone with a will and a way to significantly manipulate the market). But if you have the btc and the patience for it, you can make some relatively safe returns over time.

Takes patience and discipline to make any decent returns trading short term. Many do not have that.

I am surprised that more people aren't on here whining, maybe I just don't notice them as much?
989  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who is behind the flash crash? (Part II) on: October 28, 2014, 06:18:43 PM
A lot of people attribute these spikes as intentional market manipulations.  Couldn't they just be some of the 650,000 MtGox coins that were stolen?

Or a thinly traded asset? Which bitcoin is in comparison to global markets.
990  Economy / Speculation / Re: Videoblog & Technical Analysis for Bitcoin on: October 28, 2014, 01:01:10 PM
Gotta agree. Really in a no man's land right now.
991  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Have 41$ Paypal and want 38$ BTC on: October 28, 2014, 10:56:12 AM
$50 for $38 of BTC?
992  Economy / Service Discussion / What's cheaper- Localbitcoins or using an ATM?? (in London) on: October 28, 2014, 10:34:20 AM
I remember using a bitcoin atm in Old Street and being shocked at the markup (though understanding).

What's a better deal? Using localbitcoins or an ATM.

So far I think localbitcoins is better just from a convenience perspective, unless you work near an ATM.

Thanks in advance!

I'm looking to sell some of my odds and ends before I move master-P. I'll shoot you a msg.
994  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bigtimespaghetti speculation thread on: October 27, 2014, 04:58:05 PM
I was contacted by someone that I follow respect, he also informs my opinion on trades. I wouldn't want him to think that I am just parroting his views. I have mentioned him in posts on other topics.

As far as ultimate downside to silver goes we probably agree. $12 and if that's broken it'll probably be a freakshow.

Check him out on youtube:

Had a skim. The data provided doesn't convince me, I'd like to see more than the limited period as an example. But since nature is cyclical and so are markets I suppose that there could be merit in the concept. Thanks for sharing! I love learning new obscure ideas.
I think it is spurious correlation rather than a trading strategy.

Kind of reminds be of monkeys beating the pros at stock picking;

I'd have to agree, it's not something I'd base any trades off.

That being said, I will read the links.

I can't tell if I should take this thread seriously...

Take it about as seriously as the webbot reports.
999  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trading to Astrology / Moon Cycles on: October 26, 2014, 09:55:17 PM
I've never heard of this kind of trading. Sounds... Incredibly irrational. I'd love to be proven wrong, the concept sounds interesting at least.
1000  Economy / Speculation / Re: Any theories behind the explosion this morning? on: October 26, 2014, 09:53:04 PM
Noticed it too, didn't think anything of it myself.
