P2pool is useful system and should be easier to set up if you haven't done it before.

ASICs don't work for script based hashes. It is a memory issue, but not only the RAM, it's the whole chip/cache which is more intensively used. Would need a redesign of the motherboard also.

I have made several withdrawals to a GBP account in the last 10 days and only once did it take more than 24hrs.

ASICs won't mine LTC. The development of a custom built LTC miner is completely different , because the chip/memory/caches/ would have to be recast. Not impossible, but a long way off at present

Plenty of time to buy LTC... It will trade in range 0.002-0.003 BTC until there are a lot more Apps/Adopters. Might take 3 months after Gox trading starts.

The silver/gold ratio is 50:1, and that implies an LTC price of $3 at BTC $150, so LTC is slightly overpriced on that metric !

In any market, the key issue is volume, even above price. Whatever the prices of your arbitrage trade, you will not be able to fill the volume on an ongoing basis...
