This is the real community. All I see in this alt section are nothing but pump and dump coins. Anything IPO related seems like a scam to me. What attracted me here was the 100% free and fair distribution.

Yes... this one is really different. I have promoted 40 different CryptoCoins over the past year.

This is the first (Founders) stage. It is not a 'Giveaway'. The intention is to get the best talent on this forum to look over the spec. apply, and get on board.

COMM is getting the best team that way.

The more commonly known stages are coming later.

Doubt or Faith. Simple.

Bitcointalk members who read threads, who research and understand Cryptos will know. That ensures that the experience and skill come to COMM. at this early stage.

Patient explanations are reserved for the later stages of distribution, when the currency is established. Those who are unsure weaken the base in the early phase.

such a good coin made me so excited.i will try best to vote for our coins.and tell my friends to vote.no %51 attack,no electricity waste. We are the pioneer of digital currency, our coins may be the futher, and to change the word. And i think the rules which were put in place for a distribution of the comm are pretty good.I would love to be a part of it.and what i should do is just to Vote on mintpal! Also ,i  should begin to mine in our pools for comm,it maybe very easy to get some comm coins ,and make comm more and more worth.

The distribution rules and allocation (whilst seeming simple)  are what make the project special. There are many different attitudes to Cryptocurrencies. The selection procedure of COMM is aiming to get a high proportion of comittment and skill in the Founder Members, and less of the short term profiteers who change their minds overnight.  That in turn will make COMM worth buying for investment anyway, whether it is free or not.

The posts on this thread are very revealing of peoples attitudes, and it is surprisingly riveting.

The method of selection is great for sorting out the real believers from the freeloaders.

The way I see it : Either one believes the coin has potential or one doesn't ... If I thought it was worth having, I would buy and invest in it (and work for progress as well).

I don't just apply for the freebies, but I know there are a lot of quick dumpers out there, who won't really contribute long-term.

The attitude of prospective members soon becomes obvious !   Smiley

Alright guys i asked the dev about the list and it appears it is out there.
I see my username on the rejected list and cant do much about it but seeing how this community is working i still want to take part in this.

Ill try to buy some Comm coins as soon as i get some btc in about 2-3 days.

1-I have contacted 3 online shops and a gambling site and waiting on the answer.
2-I know the admin of a fiat-altcoin site which i will be contacting in the coming days as soon as there is enough noises about comm coin, they dont add just any alt coins but i have a good relationship with the admin so if there is enough noises in i can get comm in it.

If i got over heated in the previous pages its because i was part of the first thread and never received a single answer to where was the list
but apparently it was posted by the DEV and i respect that.

I can also direct my 3mh rig to comm multipool once it is fully integrated.

If there is some kind of list for those who were rejected in the dev list to receive some coins please add me to it i'd appreciate.

You are a real trooper and with a good heart..
I appreciate what you want to do to help us and deserve a stake.

@ those dumping @ 100 sats u will so much cry once it goes up..

All up to the community now Smiley

By seeing how the altcoin markets is doing right now, every new coins starts as a disadvantage and the only thing separating the good from the bad is its community and just the way this one is going i already know its a good one. I had my doubt on the dev but proved me wrong in any case im willing to buy my self some coins as soon as i can.

The most important thing in this shark competition is an active group, when ever people sees an active group of people supporting a coin they just feel like they have to be part of it this is why this community needs to be as much active as possible and this is why coins like BC and Faircoins  have been doing well.

1-projects
2-services
3-I noticed very few almost none deal with this idea but maybe getting associated with some kind of Fundraising websites ( charity, help the homeless, fund future projects) will help the image and to spread the word. This is surely not for now but as this community gain more momentum this is must and would be really nicely associated to the name of this coin.

At this point my only concern was " where was the list" and its been cleared, everytime som1 goes on a new coins thread there is this "unfairness factor associated to the distribution" something which simply cannot happen here since the dev made this community about real active members of this forum.

Looking forward to see how far we can get this going.

You are right on that : new coins always have accusations of unfairness. Everything has to start with goodwill and trust at some level... it is time that will show if that trust is well-founded.

COMM is still very cheap... the really clever operators are buying (and mining in the pool): not needing to get free Founder Coins.

Of course you can see the possiblities as you have some experience.

I think the dev. is really busy with this operation atm, and not really having time to argue... Stay cool   Cool

Wait, what? So I missed the 'fair distribution'? One weeks worth of distribution is fair? Are you serious?

Distribution started several weeks ago

But this thread was created 9 days ago, how does 9 days = several weeks?

I do hope I make it through as the coin does look good and I like the distribution idea, but distributing all coins in 2 weeks seems hardly fair. There are many active members on here that will not see this due to the sheer size of bitcointalk.org. I think 6 months would have made more sense.

Anyway, here is to hoping I get into the second round as I am a active member of this community, nearly 3 years I have been here, with around 600 posts, so hopefully that is good enough Smiley.
there was another thread which was closed because some guy who didn't get accepted ask the moderator to close the thread.

Ahh ok, that makes more sense. In that case the coin does seem a lot more fair. I do wish it would run a little longer but it's much better than I initially figured.

Hey @Chris180Z,
apply by the form (its it ann post)

Thanks, I filled it out and followed all the instructions this morning Smiley.

That's the way... the rules were made to give everyone a level playing field, according to what they will bring to the Community.

It is , surprisingly, something that has not been done in quite the same way before. Founder Members are not there purely at random.

Someone got greedy. I hope it lowers so i can buy more

It would be healthy for the price to drop a bit from such a spike. I prefer to see slower and steadier moves : they have more chance of sticking.
1989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ [ANN] ECCoin (ECC) ★★ Final 7 Days to Mine ★★ Hurry ★★ on: April 14, 2014, 01:31:50 PM
Why is this coin lower than ZEIT when it has almost half the coins and the dev is just awesome? ECC should be higher than MINT imho.

EDIT: Holding my ECC Cheesy

...because ECC is still mineable for another 6 days, and there is no taper in the supply (steady rate until the end). There is still a huge amount available to miners, but there will be fireworks on the exchanges soon !!

i think destroying the rest of the coins shouldn't be overlooked, smaller cap + higher value + less distribution work

That would result in few people controlling the coin. even a 1% bag holder of coins can destroy it at will.

it doesn't itll be around the same amount of people... just with 1 mill initial stake instead of 2
I think its technically hard to destroy the coins, once its generated.

Destroying coins is as easy as deleting your wallet
Yes we can do that, but its hard to do it in a transparent way, so that no one would scream scam later.

Absolutely. Destruction should be carefully considered, and a decision of the Community...Transparency is important, but it first requires trust in the development team. That trust is well placed in the case of COMM.  Read this thread, and you will see the high calibre of the participants.

Some things just have to be based on trust initially : Proof will come later anyway.
1991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | Join Community on: April 14, 2014, 11:04:44 AM
I've been advised to publicly share my experience with the community to prevent others from going through a similar experience.

Last night I agreed to purchase 1 million COMM for 0.2 BTC from 'SANBASHIYI'.  Having read very positive reviews from senior members who'd done business with SANBASHIYI I made the mistake of not using an escrow service.  Everything went smoothly and SANBASHIYI even acknowledged receiving the funds.  His last reply was "OK WAIT A MINUTE"...then he was gone.

Transaction:
https://blockchain.info/address/1L2GCsKRfzevQYAdXPJm9poaUERdZsSwQd

The unfortunate reality is that people are willing to sell their reputations and good name for what in the big picture is an insignificant amount.

To minimize this loss I've asked Community Coin's developer if he would consider sending me SANBAYISHI's second round coins.  Either way I've come away from this experience appreciating the culture of Community Coin so much more.

It's experiences like this which make us 1000X stronger and wiser.

Well said !

Early last year I was trading on the BTC talk threads (from Feathercoin through dozens of others). At the outset, I was scammed many, many times, but I just pushed on regardless...and I am glad I did !

Live and learn : the CryptoCurrency space is a Brave New World. .. We are starting COMM off on a good base of Founder Members, many of whom well understand the nature of this revolution. There will always be knaves, thieves and argumentative people (this is a pretty public space, after all)... COMM is aiming to exclude them as much as possible in the early stages.
1992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ [ANN] ECCoin (ECC) ★★ Final 7 Days to Mine ★★ Hurry ★★ on: April 14, 2014, 10:53:38 AM
Seems so, lost 249000 , really mad at the pool-owner, but what can we do ?

Devastating!!!

I only lost about 180,000... but haven't mined ecc since   Cry  It really put me off the coin.    Sad

Don't worry !
Everyone who did well in Cryptos lost in lots of projects. If you want to succeed, don't cry about it, move on : you will be stronger. The pool is a brave experiment which is improving steadily: bound to be teething troubles.

Remember ECC will show its true worth whatever any individual does. If you can see the value in the ECC project, stick with it: if not, try for riches elsewhere !  Smiley  Smiley

COMM coin is in the early stages of distribution, and the central idea of the coin is to build an initial nucleus of founder members, all of whom have to have some proven track record of activity and support for the Cryptocurrency Communities. We seek to avoid those who are ephemeral, short termist or argumentative at this stage.

That is the central premise, and the difference from other coins.

Community Coin members will all pull together, and we will see how that works.
1994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | Join Community on: April 14, 2014, 08:50:17 AM
I'm still watting my COMMs.
Don't forget me.
What's the next step of COMM?

You need to have higher Bitcointalk status for the IPO. The initial offering is limited to experienced users (50+ good posts).  You can still buy on Bittrex.

I pledge another 10k for the creation of a website.

There was a website already
http://community-coin.com/

Thanks for reminding it. I updated to-do list with info about this website alternative.

Who is the webmaster ?  I can rewrite some better titles etc..

Keep voting every hour!

https://www.mintpal.com/voting

Community, we can do it! Let's vote to get in MintPal!

The Community devs have done a great job of vetting folks because this coin is not getting dumped. I am impressed. We are off to a great start guys. Voting now.

How would the coin get dumped at this stage ?

The control and vetting is great. This is important for the early stages.
1997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | Wallet Updated! on: April 13, 2014, 11:47:28 PM
I think the rules which were put in place for a distribution of the comm are pretty good.
(although the process is a bit lengthy... but if you want the coin, you need to deserve it)
When you see that some people are asking for coins and they didn't even read the OP page...  Roll Eyes

That is correct. The selection process ensures that members who read and understand the OP (and therefore have better skills) will form the community.

The core IPO members are high quality movers: that is the key. The coin will be distributed publicly, starting from the core people.

This is more than 5% of Qubitcoin.

Lets hope it's for a good.

Trust me, rather no one bought with the intention of selling cheaper Cheesy

run qubit run !!

Similarly, someone sold the 5%, and no one sold with the intention of buying dearer.
1999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HoboNickels - HBN - Major Release ready! Version 1.4. Stake For Charity. on: April 13, 2014, 11:19:25 PM
I'm not sure if there any multipool, that pays out in something except BTC or LTC, the only multipool (and it is a 1st ever multipool, as far as I know) that pays out in exact mined coins (without automatical conversion into BTC/LTC) is multipool.us.
But it doesnt have HBN listed.

The current hashrate and PoW diff changing algorithm works quite well, balancing up and down over the LTC profitability.
So lets imagine what will be if, for example, multipool.us will add HBN to its list.
HBN profitability occasionally gets higher than LTC, the whole 15 000 MH/s of multipool hits the HBN network.
HBN profitability calculates every next block, and its immediately goes down, multipool switches back to LTC/DOGE/whatever, thus lefting the HBN network with previous steady hashrate...

I dont know, whats the point of it? Not sure if it is useful at the current stage.
The only pros I see is that more people may know about HBN, but the cons are possible chain fork, large amount of orphanes, when such a huge amount of hashrate will hit the network...

IDK, would be interesting to listen for other opinions.

Examples:  Blackcoinpool  has made BC one of the big cap coins in just 6 weeks.  ECChouse will do the same for
ECC (among other factors).  These are (or will be) primarily PoS coins.

If HBN community is interested in going down this route, maybe we can arrange it.

Lens flares are not that bad (neither are good) but the texture looks more like concrete than metal to me.

Am I the only one who noticed that he wrote: "an decentralized"?
I consider my English to be relatively bad, but I think it should be "a decentralized".

The point is that a logo needs to be clear and recognisable when expressed in different media at varying resolutions and tones. Better to use two dimensions , without introducing light and interference effects.

'.. a decentralized..'  (English = decentralised ) would be correct.
