Why are these orders in red?

I just asked on the ShareXCoin thread that question. We think it is to highlight orders higher than 1 BTC.

I copy from the OP

"Multipool first round payout is sent. In this round we generated 9.77 BitCoin the exchange rate is: 400 satoshi. At this rate we can buy 2442500.0 ShareCoin
Will send ShareCoin to miners now using the ShareCoins generated from FeeShare sale and place a buy order of 9.77 Bitcoin at 400 satoshi to create buy support on: https://sharexcoin.com/market/SHARE_BTC
Will update details on http://sharecoin.info later today...."

Maybe is that ..

Of course it is that.

Announcing a market order in advance is always going to create trading ripples.

Is anyone working on a new Block Explorer custom designed for SHARE  ?    When we have one it would be a good time to go on MarketCap sites.

Can anyone tell me what is the MAX coin age for PoS ??
1663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CASH] Crypto CASH | Proof of Stake & COIN CONTROL | On Cryptsy | 0 PREMINE on: May 08, 2014, 06:06:47 PM

Maybe you do not know enough about PoS.  The number one objective is to get wallets open as long as poss., otherwise there is no robust network.

High % encourages that, and tapering ensures that the inflation effect is only temporary. Min. one day means that holders see some rapid action, and MAX 7 days ensures that wallets open more frequently.

*sigh*

Go to page one of this thread and look at the second line in the first post from the dev and you will see him thanking me for putting together the screen captures and the descriptions on how POS works
Go to the second last post on page 118 where I explain why its better for security of the coin not to group all your coins into just a couple of large amounts.

I am not a coder, but I do understand the principles.

OK, I read those, and all correct of course.... but it doesn't address  (and is not relevant to) my points about % PoS and Min/Max coin age. (BTW, I wrote , rewrote, the OP, and website at an earlier stage, for the dev). Coin Control is another matter, and a weighting column is useful there to show the imminent forthcoming stakes at a glance.

The balance between PoW and PoS is really the only question, and my assumption is that PoW will decline in importance as PoS holders take up maintenance of the network. This would be desirable for energy considerations as well as the weight of GPUs which will be deployed on coins such as CASH when Scrypt ASICS appear.

how to enable POS mining?
leave your wallet open.

How do I know it's working?

Only this :

If your wallet has received transactions of at least 50,000 in size, if you haven't sent any coins out (for at least 24hrs), if the wallet has been open for 48hrs constantly using a fairly fast CPU...and you haven't received stake, then something is wrong.
1665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ [ANN] ECCoin (ECC) ★★★ ECCoin Wallet Updated V.1.5 New Features & Concept on: May 08, 2014, 05:52:13 PM
Hostmaster dev can you resolve my problem please. I have had coins for almost 60 days now and still no stake is being generated on coins. I am on the latest 1.5v wallet and followed all instructions and wallet is unlocked yet still no stake
make sure to keep it online at least 1-2 days. You will see big chunk of mined coins. If you dont see any minting after two days keeping online write here again.

A couple more questions:  How big are the blocks of coins you have (the size transactions into the wallet) ?   What CPU are you running the wallet with ?

If the wallet has received lots of small blocks, it will take longer to mint stake, similarly if you are running on a slow CPU.
1666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CASH] Crypto CASH | Proof of Stake & COIN CONTROL | On Cryptsy | 0 PREMINE on: May 08, 2014, 11:43:16 AM

A fork is needed, and sooner rather than  later. There is huge competition from new coins with better PoS spec.

In a Fork, I would recommend changing coin age to Min 1 day, Max 7 days, 200% stake in year 1, tapering down.

Forking it is not as simple as just finding someone to host the checkpoint server and modifying the code.
You also need to get all the mining pools and exchanges onside and get them to all to agree to update their wallets, then you need all the users to do it.
It goes without saying you need to know the wallet will be rock solid before releasing it too.
Also even though the dev doesn't post he is keeping the checkpoint up to date, so he could still at any moment come back and request the exchanges not to accept a take ver as its his coin which would stop it all.

If you can get that all to happen then that would be great, but it involves people putting in a lot of effort..

Setting the stake to 1 day and setting it to 200% interest for the first year would completely kill the coin in my opinion.
The whole reason of POS is to get people to hold it in their wallets, if you only need to hold it for a day to get your stake and interest at 200% PA you would have to completely get rid of mining which would mean more radical changing of the source, I also believe it would still lead to rapid devaluation of the coin.
The whole concept of this coin was to keep its value balanced.

I have no doubt the developers of this coin have put a lot of work in and have nothing but good intentions for this coin. Obviously they are out to make some money (as we all are). I believe the exchange is their end game goal. Popular exchanges make a lot of money which is why they do not need to gain anything from the ShareCoins themselves. There is nothing wrong with this strategy, in fact this is better for us, because it means we get a fair coin distribution and they get an active exchange.

It is win-win for all of us.

This is why I have faith that the developers will look into the connection between the coins and the exchange, which currently does not work for anyone. People are interested in the future potential of the coin because of the connection with the coin exchange. The connection is the FeeShares.

The FeeShares' value needs to increase or decrease based on the value of the exchange (not the value of ShareCoins). They need to be on a market where the price increases or drops just like any other coin. People may sell their feeShares for a profit if the exchange starts growing, or they may sell FeeShares at a loss if the exchange is in decline. The FeeShares also need to start on the market at a viable price. it makes no difference to the Devs if the FeeShares sell out at a cheap price as it is the regular punters who will be fighting to buy / sell the FeeShares between ourselves. Someone buys the shares for cheap, the exchange value rises and they sell the shares to someone for a profit. The new owner is happy because they are getting a sustained income from the exchange and the old owner is happy because they made a profit on the shares themselves. This is in the Dev's interest as it means the exchange becomes much more popular.

As it stands, the people who have bought into FeeShares will realistically never see a profit, and the FeeShares will never get sold out unless the coin is devalued all the way down to 1 satoshi (and even then they will struggle to sell). The ratio of coins to FeeShares is all wrong. The price is wrong. The inability to exchange FeeShares means that once someone is invested, they are stuck there for good.

I'm sticking around to see how this coin goes as the Dev's have been spot on up until this point. I just hope they know how to react to things like this correctly or they will end up with a dead exchange as we end up with a dead coin.

great explanation, nice one

Yes, read this one, plus mine above to get a fair explanation.
1668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHARE]ShareCoin - Pure POS - MultiPool - Official exchange launched on: May 08, 2014, 11:35:59 AM
guys, let me give u some calculations to cheer u up:

total sharecoin: 100,000,000
1feeshare=20,000sharecoin
total feeshare=100,000

assume I have 1,000,000 sharecoin, and keep it at shareXcoin forever, let us see what happen:
if dev sell 2.5%(5% is impossible since it will cost all sharecoin available) feeshare which is 2,500, dev get 50,000,000 and he will spread it among sharecoin holders in exchange, since I have 1million which is 2% percent of total(50million was in dev's hand), I will get 1,000,000.
so after first sale of 2.5%, I increased my sharecoin by 100%. after 20 times such sale, you can imagine how much sharecoin I will get.
in the above calculation, interest is not taken into account, but it doesn't change anything essential.

what does it mean?
It means your sharecoin is much undervalued by 1feeshare=20,000sharecoin, and you should never buy feeshare.

That is about right.

The bottom line is, by pricing Feeshares in Sharecoin, the dev. has given a yardstick measure by which to value Sharecoin, and that valuation is very low indeed. By actually giving this one objective measure (and there is no other), it puts a ceiling on the price, ensuring that Sharecoin will remain permanently low, unless the exchange gets to the size of (say) Cryptsy, or there is an alternative OBJECTIVE measure (which is not going to happen: virtually no coin has managed to tie it's price to a solid commodity).

ShareXCoin owner - yesterday I said something good about your Exchange.

Today - change your fucking sharefee scheme our you're going down with this ship.

You are an idiot...

ad hominem arguments are always invalid. You're basically saying he is right in the worst possible way.

LOL

sharecoin will be the next cinni?
no. sharecoin will be the next COMM

What, like the dev. killed it with a silly (albeit inadvertent) mistake ?
1671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHARE]ShareCoin - Pure POS - MultiPool - Official exchange launched on: May 08, 2014, 10:14:51 AM
Ppl, stop already, you really can't go lower that this. You already sound like pests.

You receive something free and you complain that you can't get rich enough with that thing received for free.

Just the kind of ppl that are keeping the world in place.

Free ? Not to everyone:  over 2 million were bought on exchanges at up to 1100 Sat. What do those buyers feel about it ?
1672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHARE]ShareCoin - Pure POS - MultiPool - Official exchange launched on: May 08, 2014, 09:30:53 AM
excessively expensive FreeShares price spooked market.

Yes, also the structure of the fees/interest. It is very clearly a grab for excess profit by the dev. at too early a stage.

Up until now, the dev. seemed to have a clear plan and good business sense. I think the feeshare details were something of a misjudgment.

How many coins in total will there be and how many days do coins need in order to mint?

100mil total coins, Minimum Coin Age - 1 Day

What is the Maximum Coin age ?

The bigger the coin age, the easier it is to find a PoS block.

What is the Maximum Coin age ?  Can anyone answer this question ? I cannot find it in the spec.

Why prices down?

Sad to watch the price crash like this...

It seems to be the structure of the Feeshare sale and interest etc...  That is a potential coin killer.

If the revenue from a single FeeShare was increased from 0.001% to 0.01% and the number of FeeShares decreased from 100,000 to 10,000, the rough 9am morning maths would look as follows:

Cost to buy 3 FeeShares: 0.3363 BTC
To break even on that investment, the Exchange would need to make 3,630 BTC in profit, or $1,500,000 USD.

Even that still seems quite high but a hell of a lot more realistic.

I genuinely thought the cost of a FeeShare would be nearer to 1000 - 5000 ShareCoins each, with the FeeShares being bought out almost immediately and then appearing on the market allowing the community to effectively decide the value of 5% of the business.

If they were priced at 1000 ShareCoins each, it means that the 50,000 FeeShares available could be bought out by 769 people's shares from the initial distribution (or around half). Some people would place these FeeShares on the market and the value of them would rise and fall depending on how well the exchange is doing, but currently if FeeShares were able to be placed on the exchange markets (and made unavailable from the exchange), I think I'd struggle to sell them at a huge loss.

Anyway, it's all up to the devs, but I think they've made a misjudgment on this one. It will be interesting to see how adaptable they are from their initial plans as I can't see this one working for many people.

It doesn't tempt me to buy feeshares, and I think it will keep down the price of Sharecoins. At least the weakness to this coin has appeared at an early stage.

Cinni has the volume in one day.. of ECC's whole life... etc etc... many names after ecc with faster POS... and crazy volume..

What makes CINNI different from ECC?

Minimum coin age is 3 days against ECC 42 days. (among other differences).. There are many other faster PoS coins now, and Cinni has many flaws as well.
1679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CASH] Crypto CASH | Proof of Stake & COIN CONTROL | On Cryptsy | 0 PREMINE on: May 07, 2014, 11:57:07 PM
have no doubt mullick built this coin, the OP is some kid who knows FA about anything.... people say it is is probably some relation to vern.

Forget the "dev" that's some kid, if you want the coin to go anywhere then community leadership is required.

I have backed up all the sources and created another copy, just in case old CODE disapears, you can find it here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qsoszqtvk60l55c/Peu4eVvSbc

I am sure this coin will be soon forked, It is like a gold in a dust, very cheap, traded on Cryptsy, very nice and someone is buying it a lot. There is a thread on bitcointalk where some pro devs are saving abondoned coins, so in case CASH dev does not return, it is easy to write them, they will take care of it.

A fork is needed, and sooner rather than  later. There is huge competition from new coins with better PoS spec.

In a Fork, I would recommend changing coin age to Min 1 day, Max 7 days, 200% stake in year 1, tapering down.

too many hype on other coins.. we lost the train...

multipool is late.. too late i think... and we tested and tested.. ecc.ghash failed us...

we tried beli coin worrht of nothing... i dont think if we were trying ltc for more hours to get confirmations, anyone would have a problem...
even doge...

we will try x11 tomorrow.. but we havent tried coin switching...
which is the most basic problem of multipools...

That means more testing and testing... People are looking for other coins too..new ideas, algos etc... we had POS, well 42 days was to much in cryptoworld..
In that rythm... multipool will need 2 months more...
it should have started at least mining between ltc and doge... even that could built some pressure..

Cinni has the volume in one day.. of ECC's whole life... etc etc... many names after ecc with faster POS... and crazy volume..

You cant hold and keep people for ever where there is a competitive world out there...

And i dont think that would disagree with me,that besides community and active support... you need to be fast.. in every economy market out there.

My idea of optimum coin age for PoS is minimum 1 day, maximum 7 days, with 100% pa in first year. Coins with these specs will ,I believe,
be survivors. You are right about speed.

ECC has some very good other attributes:the dev is visionary... I am not sure if coin age etc can be changed without a hard fork.
