maybe someone can improve or change something  Grin
.psd https://mega.co.nz/#!5JFjRJhQ!BPn0v6ZJ9mOa3KAX4ldEAD0peL9WnleLOIyy-eSUCEA

This looks good.. very clean and recognisable, especially in thumbnail size.

The only addition I can think of is a hint of the Anime-style drawings, but I am not sure how that can be achieved without cluttering the design.
2162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][THOR] THORCOIN- ASIC RESISTANT, NFACTOR- Newly Launched on: March 04, 2014, 02:48:29 PM
I'm not sure... Price has dropped..

Absolutely not.  The coin is starting to stabilize. The coin now has a very good core group of miners. It will continue to increase (nethash) and the coin will slowly gain momentum.

The thing to remember is this is an Nfactor coin. The difficulty will increase dramatically, and today is the first day Nfactor increases.

I'm mining it, and will continue to mine it.  The coin is very young and has a bright future, but it's all what we as miners make of it.

Smiley

THOR has a lot of the right genetics. Transactions and wallet are stable and fast. How many Developers are working on it ?

2164  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC Stolen from Poloniex on: March 04, 2014, 12:44:10 PM
Thanks for the details in this thread...  (I have 1.2 BTC in my account at Poloniex).

My opinion FWIW...I would suggest a haircut or an increase in fees, but not both. Best to deduct 12.% from BTC and get it done. Keep a permanent record of those who lost , and if you feel rich in future then you can pay something back: don't put it on the table now.

2165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][THOR] THORCOIN | ASIC RESISTANT | NFACTOR | EXCHANGES | GAMES | CONTEST | on: March 04, 2014, 11:04:19 AM
Build a bigger community. Way behind other newly launched coins.  .. First step is improve the website presentation. It is informative and tidy, but not slick.

Marketing has to have some edge to stand out from the huge number of coins: Spec is great, but will not shine through on it's own, needs marketing.
2166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CASH] Crypto CASH a unique Crypto currency! **1.1 Client is mandatory** on: March 03, 2014, 06:31:40 PM
coin has a ton of issues ...
windows wallet links don't work ...
wallets do not sink ...
dev is never here to help ...
if I were you id find something with some promise and pass on this broken and ignored coin!

Been looking and everything is going down. Kimoto Gravity Well ... looks like profiteers do not like it one bit.

Only brand new coins are getting hashed to hell, forked and dumped. I think the biggest shocker is the collapse of Smart Coin really and that was purely down to KG Well.

While I have been a major buyer of CASH and miner. I have always said: mine and sell, buy only when you can afford to lose a gamble.

Same goes for all forms of gambling really. 90% of the people have lost BTC on trading these last couple weeks on every coin, I bet the DOGE buyers at 280 are kicking themselves now, not even going to mention poor suckers who paid for PANDA (down 99%) and MINT (down 80%) at the very top. RUBY, BC, ZEIT .. etc etc etc ..

Yes, this is short term greed at work. Stick to your plan with patience.... as you say, all day-traders lose in the long run. Identify steady value and invest on that basis... It has a better chance of paying big dividends.

Until they do not fix thi big problem i don't vote...

Don't you think that sounds a bit greedy and childish ?  Did you realise that goodwill always helps you, and voting costs you nothing ?
2168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining | No pre-mine on: March 03, 2014, 06:24:30 PM
QRk was never questioned with regard premine. What upset the noob wave was the mining was completed after 6 months. However they seem to have no issue at all jumping on coins like topcoin, mint and black and an entire host who's minting was essentially completed within a few days or weeks Smiley  Forget the tiny pos factor, how does that help make them more fair because the miners who INSTAMINED those get the pos too Smiley

It was a host of noobs that started crying instamine because they had no clue that there was an entirely different distribution model here from the others which medium to long term goes in qrks favour.

Look at all the noobs trying to talk up coin2, yes it was fair.... but all "mined" in essentially a day. You mined it by registering your name on facebook a  lot fucking easier than leaving 6 i5 running day and night. I do support coin2 also though because yes it is fair, if you bothered to register anyone could. YOU CANT SAY SOMETHING IS NOT FAIR IF YOU HAVE THE SAME CHANCE AS ANYONE ELSE. If you were interested in crypto and read daily the boards you had a fair chance to register. If you are not that interest and just pop in now and then, you may have missed it. It's like anything in life you tend to get out what you put in.

Everyone had a fair chance to mine qrk. Back then it seemed botnets or cheap vps nodes were not on the case so much because i was getting a few blocks per day just using my personal cpus....even my laptops were getting a couple of blocks a day for days on end.  So if you were in crypto at that time you had a fair chance to mine.. If you were late to cryto guess what you got a 2nd chance ...............TO BUY FOR NOTHING....FOR WEEKS AND MONTHS... I sold stupidly A LOT for 200ish because it has been laying at 37 for ages and i thought i was getting a good price.  So EVERYONE in crypto right up to there has 2 chances to get in on QRK cheaply.

These new coins are producing entire mint in sometimes a day or less ... and lots within a couple of weeks.  Where is all the crying about instamining there?? Simple there is no crying because they think they are part of the instamine. As i have said and will ALWAYS say, THE PEOPLE THAT CRY ABOUT QRK DON'T HAVE QRK....IT IS ENVY THAT DRIVES THEM TO CRY ABOUT IT ELSE WHY DO I NOT SEE THEM CRYING ON EVERY COIN THAT HAS WORSE INSTAMINING?HuhHuh it really is that simple.

QRK was not the most fair.......but i can tell you it was by a LONG way not the most unfair.

This coin was deliberately taken down yesterday, i watched it happen.

HOWEVER it does not matter ....the cryptsy market is tiny.... there are hardly any qrk produced and if you look at the wallets, QRK is held as a store of wealth. The big holders will NEVER sell QRk cheaply. They don't need to they can see what any investor looks for. QRK is far above 99% of alt currencies in terms of community and it's name is huge in the alt world. Never have i seen a coin so copied in terms of algo and name. Of course LTC is more copied in terms of algo, but look at all the qrk clones. They want to keep so close to the qrk name.... molecule, atom, particle, fairqurk, bitquark, quarkbar.  QRK is a premier alt and now considering it's minting size is rather cheap for what you get.

QRK was fairly priced at 10-15k , it is now good value. Never panic. QRK will grow, the people at the core of the community are dedicated. The vast amount of people holding are what i call premium investors. They are holding a lot of BTC too. Most are from before the 3rd wave and have huge crypto wealth. Not like these new crypto seekers that need to flip their latest coin to try to get back and hold some btc for comfort. QRK holders for the most part have enough BTC not to have to do that.

I am waiting for a huge collapse in new coins and the consolidation back into older premium alts and btc.

QRK needs to forget about building a micro community away from the alt community and start here with new ideas, a development pot with someone very active at the helm

QRk already has all the tools it needs to go forward.

1. Excellent coin, i am still using the original wallet ffs, it's fast, great name - very well known - aged and proven.
2. Excellent exchanges already btc38, amongst the premium alt exchange.... next thing qrk needs it's own market like xpm and doge has.
3. Some good motivated hardcore people at the core of the community with ideas.
4. There are already direct to fiat exchanges, android wallet, pre build website payments service.

It has all the tools, the community needs to keep more visable, and have someone to lead and organise the projects.  That person should be paid for their time and effort. I suggest a dev pot set up , with the person who is going to lead these projects to take 2% from it for their work.

We need also to think of a way to reward those that donate to the dev projects so that ALL will be motivated to donate.

We want QRK back to 30k - and forward on to 50k -100k then we need to build a coin with services that is worth that much now. It is possible but the community must get more active again and elect a someone to take the helm.

+1 thanks..

I have explained it so many times...

FYI : now there is a quick way to judge the sense and maturity of a poster .. if they ask this 'pre-mine' question, it means they are not reading anything about QRK,  or can be written off as a fool.
2169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Gold Standard Virtual Precious Metal | CGB on: March 03, 2014, 01:31:12 AM
Interesting coin. When approx it is going to be PoS only by the way?

CGB will remain a PoW/PoS hybrid. The PoW subsidy will halve until the baseline of .01 CGB per block is reached where it will remain. This will keep holders earning interest while at the same time further securing the block chain via PoW mining and PoS stake mining. An attack on a PoW/PoS hybrid would have to consist of not only control of greater than 50% of hashing power (as with most other coins) but also would require ownership of greater than 50% of the staked coins. The PoS addition essentially means that any potential attacker would have to be a majority owner of CGB as well as the majority miner and thereby the attack would predominantly be against themselves.

I feel that the PoS needs to be higher. The supposed mirroring of monetary inflation is irrelevant at this stage.

10% pa, with 7 days qualification cycle would give sufficient incentive. Any opinions ?

I find 10% PoS reward a little too high; but I agree with you that 1.5% is much too low, given the current high level of risk, to interest large investors.  The good news with CGB that it wouldnt take many interested parties to make the coin move upwards, but if we want the outcome to change something needs to be done.

It is not so much the large investors that need to be encouraged with interest. IMO the importance of a higher PoS is that it gives the incentive for more wallets to be mining stake at any one time, thus strengthening the network.
A reduction in the qualifying time for coins to mine stake would achieve a similar result.
2170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Gold Standard Virtual Precious Metal | CGB on: March 02, 2014, 04:30:23 PM

Any discussion is welcome but I have to reiterate that boosting the mining reward is off the table.

Thanks for that info (in the longer post), and for your part in the team.

1. I am not a miner. I manage investments and funds (long career in that).

2. Distribution is everything (leading to adoption). I am not convinced that CGB has wide enough dispersal yet, but maybe I have insufficient information. Do you have any relative (to other coins) distribution figures ?

3. It's probably best not to rule anything out: that is just good politics... but I understand the need to set out a prospectus so that holders can make decisions based on certainties.

2171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin (DarkSend) | No Premine | Runs 30% cooler than scrypt on: March 02, 2014, 12:56:21 PM
I know that it spilts each transaction up into certain decimals. But the amount an individual sends and receives can still be tracked.

Yes, but there is more to it than that, only I can't explain it. You should join the testing, it's always open to anyone.  And my dreams are a bit tongue in cheek, having fun Smiley

I really don't know exactly how it all works, but it seems to work in testing and fast!  I'm wondering if mined coins are included?  There doesn't seem to be any delay in the combining of the amounts before they go out again.

I still think darkcoin is undervalued when compared to the competition.

For example: Worldcoin, Feathercoin, Megacoin , Infinitecoin, quark, novacoin are all in front of darkcoin which i don't see why they should be.

It is just down to relative maturity.

DRK is very young and has a number of phases to go through before it reaches comparable status.
2172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Gold Standard Virtual Precious Metal | CGB on: March 02, 2014, 12:33:24 PM
Has anyone noticed how much faster CGB is confirming today ?

Stakes are also faster.

Would that be network size or software updates ?
2173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Gold Standard Virtual Precious Metal | CGB on: March 02, 2014, 12:24:39 PM
Thanks elambert!

This is a great coin and a great community and I am honored to be added to the development team.  Just so everyone knows a bit of my background I am a professional software engineer, with 10+ years industry experience and 20+ years of programming experience.  I currently have a role as lead developer of a multi-million dollar industrial product line.  I have also made fixes and contributions to several other coin projects.  I am confident that I have the experience and ability to take on this role.

I am working right now to get the development environment ready.  I hope to have a new client version available within the week.

Thanks to this great community, I have high hopes for the future of CGB!

Thanks and welcome to your new position !

PoW / PoS hybrid is a good combination. The Block reward as well as the Stake are at low levels, maybe the correct levels, who knows.

I am pretty sure you will hear a resounding NO from all members of the community.

A temporary price boost from new comers who want to stake the coin is not worth, like i said before, runaway inflation and destroying the marketing hook it has had from the beginning.  All it does is give a temporary price boost, long term it sends it to zero.

What do you think the price of PHS, HBN, TEK, BCX will be by next year?  Do you think 10%+ inflation is good for something which aims to be a currency?

If the goal here is just to temporarily pump up the price so that we can dump off our stakes and watch the coin supply skyrocket and the price plummet, hey no problem.  Just clue me in that this is the plan and I'll dump as soon as we break 0.001 again.  But I thought at this point CGB had established itself as more than just a pump and dump scam.

I don't even understand why the PoS reward is being brought up.  The price isn't where it is today because the PoS reward is too low.  The price is where it is today because of the developments of the last couple days, large holders dumping, and disinterest from the latest wave of newbies who hit the scene in nov/dec because they were too late to mine any significant amount (but they seem to love QRK, doesn't make sense to me).

'Skyrocket' in supply is not really the word I would use for 10% pa inflation.

IMO it is a healthy level.

When a coin reaches maturity, then 2% maybe an appropriate inflation level. There are years to go yet...Even BTC is not mature, and CGB still has to survive its infancy.

Time and price will tell all.

Not happy! I did some trading this arvo and somehow my cryptsy btc account went into negative.  I deposited some more btc into cryptsy but it isn't going through and is stuck in pending and now I can't buy my cheap CASH at 5000

Happened to me a couple months ago.

Now I keep track of my balances to make sure Cryptsy is correct. The delays in trades/deposits/refunds are still causing problems.

we need more marketing for q2c...... perhaps a small site offer somethings in exchange for q2c  like Steam Codes/Games works really good and im willimg to help ... as begining that good for value

and we need to hit big exchange like mintpal or cryptsy ... i notice our daily voting power increased alot in mintpal

...

Urgently need the website rewritten to compete with other more slickly marketed coins.

The Logo and wallet are good, but the info and site needs tidying.

Hi,
My wallet says Chain is too old, redownload blockchain. Did it, everything synced fine and transactions work, but still the same warning. Anyone seeing the same message? My Windows wallet is 1.1 and correct config. Should I just ignore it until a new wallet update?
Thanks!

We've all got it, need to wait until the Dev sorts it out

Ignore it... functionality is not impaired.. Wallet update will not fix it, it is the Checkpoint server that needs updating (frequent with PoS coins)
