All, FYI on the wallet trying at times to re-sync. This is someone trying to attack the network through offline mining of the blockchain. They then try to force it onto the network (to get all the coins they mined offline), but the other nodes catch it and ban their IP automatically after a while. They obviously know the other nodes will reject this, but they try anyways because it acts like a denial of service.
Once the network has enough nodes/miners, we won't have this issue, because likely other nodes will ban them before you even see it. This code as far as the wallet goes is identical to litecoin. Only modifications are on the reward/difficulty logic.
You usually only see this on coins with low hashrate. Once we are added to an exchange (within a few days I am told - can't say where), and more people start mining (because it will be worthwhile for for them), these issues should cease.
Thank you for the update gldcoin. Thanks for the update. That means we need more miners! Yes, now we can see what that glitch actually is, just a product of low network hash rate. Actually the chain and network is doing pretty well considering its extreme youth: that is probably due to the structure of the rewards and frequent retargetting. An increase in network will do wonders for the coin quite quickly... just have to be patient ! |

can we all email the owner of cryptsy.com please Cryptsy could be the right one. The other exchanges will be cautious , they will screen more carefully because there are a lot of new alts. It would not be good to be checked-out too soon by a big exchange: If they once reject the coin, it will be more difficult to persuade them to accept it later. |

Just looking to smooth out this small bug : there are different versions of the client.. Can you please let me know how you are running the .qt client .. Is it opening from a shortcut in your start menu or taskbar ? or are you starting it from a stand-alone folder containing all the flies (including the daemon, which keeps the background processes tidy) |

OK, great. There is a little glitch (not seemingly a problem) in one of the clients, where it tries to resync. an overlarge blockchain from the beginning ,after being fully updated. Transactions still work normally even while this is happening, and restarting will clear it anyway. You should be free of this on your client, but please let me know if you spot it. |

Ok. Great I downloaded gldcoin qt exe then, and it is now syncing
Are their other files I ought to have downloaded as well? There is quite alot of files on the docs.google.com page
Best way is to Download windows binaries (zip) which is 0.6.3 win32 9.7MB, 3rd on the list: from here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-V2r5eb7IgteHRCb09RUkpJQlU/edit?pli=1Extract all files, and run the client from the extracted stand-alone folder. This should give you an 'E' address prefix, which I found better than the 'D' |
