Besides tracking where the address belongs to and if that site/exchange is still alive.

I would suggest to search your e-mails carefully? You should have some sign-up e-mails from it?
1822  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Merlins Magic Bitcoins.com (wtf!) on: November 10, 2013, 11:35:22 AM
Obvious pyramid scheme is obvious. Sites like this just hurt my mind. I cannot believe anyone will fall for it.. but just in case.. do not put any satoshi in this website.
1823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should there be a BIP for tracking stolen coins and "dirtiness" percentage on: November 10, 2013, 07:42:22 AM
I thought "chargebacks" of people whose account got "hacked" is 1 of the biggest problems of PayPal and the beauty of Bitcoins? :O

Seriously tho, an independent database just for information could be cool. And somehow a wallet or way to make hacks less common would be cool. Of course all the nerds here (including me Cheesy) can easily say "what you hold 100 btc in a hot wallet?" "what you use your password on another site too?!" "what you didn't use 2FA?!" "what you still run flash and java in your browser?!"  But the reality is that most people do that and to get bitcoins more mainstream these issues somehow have to be resolved. Saying it's the problem of the user is not the best solution I think. I would not recommend my mother to hold a lot of bitcoins at this moment. But what the real solution is.. I don't know.

What would be the solution if your mother walked around with 1KG gold bar and someone stole it from her?  Theft happens.  The "solution" to preventing (or more realistically reducing it) occurs PRIOR to the theft not after.
Oh yes, my whole "chargeback" thing was meant as a disadvantage of PayPal and something that we would probably not want with Bitcoins Wink I def. think that we should try to prevent the thefts.

What I mean is that when the bitcoins got stolen it's mostly because the user didn't had a secure computer, password, put it on a online wallet owned by a 18 year old anon, or ways to protect their BTC. So we as bitcoin users mostly just say "ah yeh, that's your own fault". However I think most people, especially the mainstream, have no idea how to protect their BTC. So I think there must be more secure ways to easily protect BTC without any knowledge. But like I said, I am just identifying something that's IMO a problem for bitcoins to be used by more people.. and I do not really know the solution.

edit: ah and the chargebacks are disadvantage for many companies, traders etc as it gets abused a lot. Obviously for the buyer/mainstream it does gives some reassurance. Still I do not think that is a solution or even possible with bitcoins. Perhaps even against the nature of bitcoins.

Player sanamagan won 1177 chips for getting a Royal Flush at NLHE 9max .1/.2 #2!

Administrator: New Jackpot Balance: 0 chips (win up to 0xBB!)

win up to 0xBB!

win up to 0xBB!

win up to 0xBB!

Nah serious tho, was good promo I guess (even tho I am not a cash player.) Any ideas for a next jackpot promo? From all the chat lurking I do think that most people prefer - smaller odds - bigger amount Smiley just in case there will be a next jackpot someday.
1826  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: October 31, 2013, 12:31:05 PM
On the site it says: "Current Jackpot: 5702 chips" that correct?

I only saw someone winning like 300 - 400 on 5BB for straight draw (but I wasn't online much last few hours.)
1827  Economy / Gambling / Re: Poker by Proxy on: October 30, 2013, 12:43:08 PM
Yeh, the stories are great. And I am for quite sure they are fake. Things like:
Quote
Out of the 14 sit-and-go tournaments that our team played in, we were "in the money" for 11 of them.
are just funny. I highly doubt any pro would play less than 6 SNGs at the same time (of course this depends if it's HU etc) But playing 14 SNGs with a whole team in 1 day is absolutely nothing. The stories mix some "poker terms" with a nice background but give no real information to an experienced poker player.

Besides that IMO the fact that the site is on 0 real poker websites and on many (Russian) "making money" sites, kinda says enough.
1828  Economy / Gambling / Re: Poker by Proxy on: October 30, 2013, 12:14:36 PM
I am a big fan of staking poker players Smiley But this is NOT the way staking normally goes. There are no usernames or whatever about the players. Also there is NO information about this website on the biggest poker forum 2+2. So I HIGHLY doubt that this site is legit.

Also I think a thread with referral links like this, is not allowed on bitcointalk. But I am not 100% sure about that.

For people who DO like to stake people in a legit way:

1829  Economy / Reputation / Re: KingofSports Reputation thread on: October 27, 2013, 06:41:37 AM
Looks like king of sports is a deadbeat scammer. Someone in seals thread said owes 2 bitcoins king was in seals lobby I told him about it said he didn't owe anyone anything. Person in seals thread said he contacted king of sports on just dice and king told him he wasn't paying back didn't care. Welcome to the circle of bitcoin deadbeat scumbags king of sports .

Btw for any people who  have doubts this is the real king of sports. He asked me to vouch for him in this thread a while back on seals with clubs poker and as he was reputable then I did. That's how scammers do have string of successful transactions until they turn rouge like king of sports did.

I'm still just confused why he's taking this approach for 2 BTCs when clearly he's been dealing with much more than that on several occasions... seems like we're missing something in this story???

Prolly a competitor with an altnick.
It wasn't. It was him. He had logged into his Just-Dice account and his SwC Account.

He's a degen.
He was on Seals earlier.

eaglesfan1: heres actually what happened n i have no remorse honestly, fucking rigged site. depo 2 coins into casinobitco.in, owed bigbitz 2 btc as agreed to put on a bet, we agreed i would pay him 2.01 BTC SO
eaglesfan1: i then tried to win .01 in blackjack
eaglesfan1: i lost 2 coins going after that .01
eaglesfan1: so yeah i quit gambling that night n am done. thats the risk with gambling loans, many default sorry bigbitz.
eaglesfan1: u wanted 2.01 and i went for the .01 interest u just HAD to have.

eaglesfan1: kingofsports aint broke.
eaglesfan1: kingofsports defaulted on 2 btc loan and ruined his rep but he sure isnt broke lol
eaglesfan1: i just dont feel the need for rep anymore.

eaglesfan1: lol whatever, i have my $10,000 and am doing well with investing it and not gambling anymore.
eaglesfan1: im investing in the sites u fools gamble at Wink
eaglesfan1: heres a funny thing too, one of the things im doing is being a bookie on campus.
eaglesfan1: accepting up to $100 at normal juice on any major US sport game, so far 19 guys used me got 5 regulars (at least $200 volume a week)

Really lame, KOS. First you try to justify stealing from him by saying you lost it while trying to get the interest by being a degen. THAT IS YOUR FAULT. If he gives you a loan, you must pay him interest, YOU are the one being a degen, not him. Then you KNOW that this is WRONG so instead you justify it by saying "he sent it with his other address so it's ok to steal". Or "it's ok to steal cuz I helped some other people." Just no.. you are being a terrible person and you must be able to know that, don't even try to justify it.

other inquiry: I have a few... each screename has a different 'personality'.  I don't, however, go through them all and register all for each freeroll, or use more than one account at the same time.  Somewhere on this thread it is made explicit that this is okay.
Generally people have 2 accounts in case 1 account gets a chatban. Or when they bought the other with 50k krill for krillrolls. Creating screennames with each different personalities sounds terrible and sketchy to me.

But yeh, multiple accounts is allowed when not using at same time.

I like the game, looks nice and simple.
How are you affording a 100% deposit bonus?  Lucky gamblers can cashout easily with twice the bankroll, so with the deposit bonus, it's a bit risky.
The 100% deposit bonus has to be collected by playing, like most traditional poker rooms. This supposed to be faster than other poker rooms tho.

Great work on the Linux client. It's nice to be able to resize the tables.
There's a linux client?  As in GNU/Linux?  I've used the android client but on linux i thought we were restricted to that flash thingy.
I personally don't use linux besides SSH for servers, so I never tried SWC linux. But here are the links:

I went to log in today and it said I was locked out for too many incorrect attempts. It seems someone was trying to hack my account. Lucky I have a strong password. I was able to unlock my account on the webpage per instructions
I think I said this already on chat, but for others who have this.. 10 other players have said this also last 2 hours in chat. So it seems like some server issue? (like packets getting lost or whatever) Or someone is trying to go thru the playerlist to login with the most obvious passwords. But I think not.

Bots are not allowed to play at Seals.
Thanks.  Seals should put this on their site somewhere.  Also, I want one of those groovy avatars, when's the next avatar promo?

On the Seals-faq page is probably good:

Hehe that affiliate parameter in the URL xD well played sir.

Avatar GAB tourneys are Wednesday 8:30 PM (50 chip BI) and Saturday 10:00 PM (100 chip BI.) The possible avatars to choose from are here: http://grindabit.discussioncommunity.com/post/Grindabit-Weekly-Tournament-Announced-Grindabit-Avatar-100-Deepstack-6289473

Generally most rooms follow something like: http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/room/prohibited/ which basically means that programs that tell u odds or keep track of personal stats are allowed. But programs that give you real-time advice, share things with others or play without human intervention (bot) are not allowed. That being said.. Seals is the wild west so I def also wonder what the "official rules" are.

For me it's working OK. Also interesting to see u again, durrrr. You still owe me 0.05 BTC (and supposed to be with some interest) for the time I helped you with a buy-in when your depo was not yet there. You can send it at: 1Fcn7M1AjgA9RFPm59RqiTCCD6tKKS5vN9

@x, micon, FreeMoney. Is there an API for the client or something? I'd like to access my hole cards as I play, and feed it to some home made software of mine to analyze what I'm holding. Windows here.
To give you some more info..

Probably there are 3 ways to do it:
- Almost all trackers use handhistory to see the hands. This is by far the easiest way but obviously I assume this is only AFTER the hand. So only useful for stats or something like that.
- In theory I think you could make a program that recognizes the cards on the screen.
- The traffic between the client and server is (imo) pretty easy. You could use Wireshark to check this out. Then u could make like a packet sniffer, I am pretty sure most languages have a library or something for that. This way you can look for the hole card information. Or you could make your own client like 'bet' of ender and use that to play and analyze, but that would be a bit more work :p

GL. And remember that programs that "give advice" or something are generally not allowed on all poker rooms. I am not sure what rules seals exactly has about it, but be sure to follow good poker ethics Wink
1840  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 30 to 60 BTC to start up yet another gambling site. on: August 25, 2013, 12:33:43 PM
As someone who has been quite active in the BTC poker scene and visiting new BTC poker sites for last 4 or 5 months.. new websites have a DIFFICULT time to get traffic. Even when they put thousands of dollar aside for promotion, having even 1 full table of a cash game is difficult. So I am not sure how much profit you can expect, especially in the beginning.

I am not trying to demote you or possible investors, just being honest. From your lotto I know you are just a nice guy trying to get fun and interesting things running. I think your best shot in making this project will be to find a (good) developer who also likes the idea of provably fair BTC poker. Designs (possible from themeforest and such), hosting, domain, etc could be cheap in the beginning.

FYI: new custom made BTC poker site boot52.nl has 'provably fair shuffling' on the TO-DO list. Just thought I would mention it, since you are interested in it, the owner is also on btctalk.

edit: ah, I see now that you already posted in the boot52 topic :p but again just FYI he also wants to add 'provably fair shuffling'.
