1361  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Gamblers, be careful with Coinbase! on: August 20, 2014, 03:51:55 AM
Seems very unlikely that coinbase could be directly tracking deposit addresses, almost all of them are generated randomly. Even sites that generate them deterministically don't give out the public key that would allow someone to enumerate all the deposit addresses.

If they are doing something like this, my guess is that they track the published cold-storage addresses. If they see money getting sent to an address, that is getting swept into a gambling sites cold storage, then they could tell. Using an intermediate address (as you suggested) in this case might not even help.
At this point I think they only track known hot withdrawal wallets of gambling sites and block accounts that get a payment directly from them. The person who got blocked after depositing to Seals also had a withdrawal from betcoin before that. The timing is a bit strange though, since he only got blocked after the deposit. But still I assume it's because of the betcoin w/d since betcoin uses 1 hot withdrawal address for all withdrawals (which is pretty easy to detect for Coinbase.) Obviously most sites do not have 1 withdrawal address for all withdrawals.

Still having a "real wallet" is probably a good idea anyway.

To be honest I don't see the relation with your site moneypot.com, seems like a ponzi type of gambling site? Not sure how that can help in any way :X
1362  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Primedice is cheating on: August 20, 2014, 03:22:23 AM
I am not familiar with running NodeJS so I made a quick PHP script and I am getting:

fa7ae - 1025966 - 59.66
21fdd - 139229 - 92.29
a05cc - 656844 - 68.44

Code:
$hash = hash_hmac('sha512', 'ca45edd88ef251dd43edf42dc97c7ffb-3391','41fa224237f452360db8d35a276f4067fce6cad8d3dbf3c73bde2e804c8cb8c7');
for($i=0;$i<30;$i++) {
echo "<br>".substr($hash,$i*5,5)." - ". hexdec(substr($hash,$i*5,5)) ." - ".(hexdec(substr($hash,$i*5,5))%(10000)/100);
}

The first result is more than 1 million so it goes to the next one which results in 92.29 after the modulo function (and is correct AFAIK.)

There is 02 in the first result so perhaps your 0.02 result comes from there and there is a mistake in the verification script?

Also 11 consecutive-losing bets is nothing special at all. Verifying of bets is always good though.
1363  Economy / Exchanges / Gamblers, be careful with Coinbase! on: August 20, 2014, 02:26:19 AM
On Reddit someone claimed yesterday to be blocked from Coinbase because he used the Bitcoin poker site Seals and/or Betcoin: http://www.reddit.com/r/poker/comments/2dxuqw/be_careful_seals_users_coinbase_has_blocked_me/

Upon review of your Coinbase account, we have determined that we can no longer provide you access to Coinbase Services. Please understand that Coinbase is a regulated Money Service Business under the FinCEN division of the U.S. Treasury Department and as such, we are required to review accounts in order to ensure compliance with regulations.

Gambling is illegal under US law even if you live outside of the US we cannot provide services to your account for the purpose of any type of gambling activity.

Please note that we have not blocked access to the bitcoin balance currently in your Coinbase account; while we can no longer process transactions of this bitcoin via our banking relationship, you may send this bitcoin to a local wallet or another bitcoin address.

In the event that your controls change and you are able to prevent such activity from occurring on your platform please let us know and we’d be happy to review your compliance program and evaluate your account to see if we can support it in the future.

Seals uses unique deposit addresses and AFAIK pretty random withdrawal addresses, so I am not sure how they could recognize that.

Betcoin seems to use 1 main hot wallet according to the comments: https://blockchain.info/address/1NyjjRGuBZ1FUSwrgizjZeHTM83RNh5uWr so that is more obvious.

So it seems Coinbase is at least tracking known hot wallets from gambling sites. Generally gambling sites will use unique random withdrawal addresses or other users' deposit addresses, but some obviously not. If you use Coinbase and you gamble, ideally have a normal desktop or blockchain.info wallet in between and don't deposit/withdrawal immediately from/to Coinbase.

edit1: Confirmation from another site than Seals or Betcoin:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2e2yxr/beware_coinbase_is_banning_accounts_that_play_on/

In the last day we have had players who found their Coinbase account closed because they withdrew coins from SatoshiBet.com to their Coinbase account.

We heard similar stories from other gambling sites (Seals with Clubs, Betcoin, ...)

Switch to Blockchain.info folks.

If anyone has more information it would be great to hear it.

TL;DR: coinbase is blocking accounts that get withdrawals from gambling sites.
1364  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Euro -> Bitcoin -> USD on: August 18, 2014, 03:13:38 PM
Yes, this could work.

However, according to my own calculations you will get more bitcoins with euros when you buy at Kraken. This is because BitStamp only works in USD and you actual get their exchange rate: https://www.bitstamp.net/api/eur_usd/ Also currently Kraken charges 0.3% and Stamp 0.5% at the lowest level (will be 0.35% for Kraken from 1st of September.) With a bigger amount, you will pay less fees, so with the fees and exchange rate of Stamp, you should be able to calculate the cheapest way to buy bitcoins with euro. This will be different from time to time, so make your own calculations please.

Then for the selling part I guess you could do the same calculations, but I do not have experience with that part (since I am not from US), so not sure which site is reliable and cheap. Obviously if you have to withdraw BTC from 1 exchange to another the BTC price can move too, so you should consider that too. Also consider withdrawal fees. Like BitStamp charges a 0.09% fee (minimum $15.00) on international withdrawals, BitFinex 0.1% (min $20), etc.

I do believe some of the things you said. Like you said you have some mental disorders. I definitely believe that.
1366  Other / Meta / Re: I was stalked online to this forum. on: August 17, 2014, 08:10:53 AM
If you have a loan request, we don't need proof that you really need the money. We need proof that you can pay the loan back and, better yet, collateral that is worth the same amount. You continuously stated that you don't have the money to repay....

So Vod literally commented on your "trust summary": "New account + $4,000 loan request." as warning since obviously you have no way to repay the loan.

Then now you are mad? We can believe you really need the money. But a loan request is not charity, we need to ensure the loan gets paid back and obviously you have no way of doing that. You might not be a scammer, you might have the best intentions of paying it back.... but you repeatedly said your current "income" all goes to mortgage and helping your family, so how can you repay a relatively big loan?
1367  Economy / Services / Re: Nuovocard Hacking Contest - Hack Us for $3000 (Bounty) - Phase 2 Started on: August 17, 2014, 06:42:09 AM
To be honest I didn't completely read what your company is about. But if I understand it correctly you can pay at a store with a card through some mobile application. There must be communication in some way there? How can it not write something to any server? How will it save transactions then?

So basically I agree with 'hardcode' that I would like to know more about the API or whatever. And I cannot imagine it's a "read only" API, but even if it is, shouldn't we focus on trying to hack that (too)?

Trying to hack the server is great, but IMO a lot of times the vulnerabilities are in the actual API or site interaction.
1368  Economy / Services / Re: Nuovocard Hacking Contest - Hack Us for $3000 (Bounty) - NOW LIVE on: August 16, 2014, 04:21:59 AM
I assume in theory there are currently 3 ways to find the IP:

1. Through the e-mails, but obviously we "cannot".
2. Connect to as many bitcoin (testnet) nodes as possible and see who relays the transaction as first. But I guess this is not possible because you guys use bitcoin through TOR.
3. Guess which server Smiley Considering you know: 1) it's from Amazon 2) we know exactly which ports are open 3) we know the (test) IP ends with .13 - we have some parameters to search on, but still it will be a long lucky search, I guess Tongue And the production application server would be basically 256 times more difficult.

To be honest I was more interested in that mobile phone app.. I assume that also has to communicate to the application server (through that Java app I guess)? Or we will just get more info about that in "the second part"?

Dean has proven to be trustworthy. PRC exists longer than even JD. That is commitment.

User stats are coming up now, should be back in a bit. Smiley

Is it so ? I dint see any forum presence of yours !!!

JD topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=242962

Anyway, obviously that is not meant as a comparison between trust of JD/PRC since Dooglus is 1 of the most trusted in the BTC community. But the age of a site is one of the factors to estimate the trustworthiness of a site (at least for me personally.)

Considering I have been playing poker on PRC since more than a year ago and started investing as soon as that functionality was there (6+ months now), I def. do trust Dean.

Personally I would not invest in a site that has been around for only a few weeks or months unless trustworthy persons/companies are behind it, but that's just me Tongue And even besides that I would still follow the "don't put all eggs in 1 basket" idea despite the trustworthiness BTW.
1370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 7.4BTC transaction shows as 0.025 BTC sent on blockchain.info - HELP on: August 15, 2014, 12:00:12 PM
I don't really understand what you are saying.

But that 7.4 BTC transaction had 3 inputs:

1BTWBhSmYqvxVXJ9bF5AduhRYhX94bNZCq (0.4 BTC - Output)
1B2UhCF2RnNhyUH52nR8aKQFwUATsRn1oc (0.025 BTC - Output)
1McrokGJ3aSF5Q55FiBttna3viNEJRpJrA (6.975 BTC - Output)

Only 0.025 BTC of address 1B2UhCF2RnNhyUH52nR8aKQFwUATsRn1oc was used so it says -0.025 on that address' page even though the total transaction was 7.4 BTC. I assume the other 2 addresses are also from your contact and all these 3 addresses are in his wallet?

All of that 7.4 BTC was sent to address 1JuLLmh1KU5NRHBqi6K3husyXujB52czhK

It is unclear to me what are his/her addresses and who sent which transaction.

BTC address 1JuLLmh1KU5NRHBqi6K3husyXujB52czhK is associated in a scam accusation though: https://localbitcoins.com/forums/#!/fraud#i-got-scammed-by-bestseller (from Aug 2013) so I am guessing your contact tried to sell bitcoin and sent 7.4 BTC to this "seller" and got scammed? Sad

Sounds like some bullshit lol.

Also that e-mail address is associated with a phishing attempt: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=547617.msg5972181#msg5972181

Sounds like a low life scammer with no real skills. Might be the owner of that MakeBTC site also (some ponzi scam?)
1372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will btc help me to save on bank charges as a international student ? on: August 15, 2014, 06:51:20 AM
Is it possible to share the scrip for me sir ?
My script calculates: buying BTC with EUR with Kraken. Selling it at: rebit.ph, buybitcoin.ph, coinxchange.ph, coins.ph. And comparing it to worldremit.com (supports no Indian customers) and a local "cash money changer". Basically it's all focused on my situation and will not be helpful to you Sad

You will really have to make the calculations yourself :p
1373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will btc help me to save on bank charges as a international student ? on: August 15, 2014, 05:56:47 AM
There is no easy answer to your question, you will have to calculate it yourself:

1. How much is the exchange rate and transfer fee at the banks? > Calculate how much INR you need to pay to get 100, 500, 1000 GBP (use different amounts imo as the transfer fee might be relatively more at small amounts)
2. Calculate how much INR you need to pay to get 100, 500, 1000 GBP by using the several Bitcoin exchange methods. Make sure to include all the fees! So also the % for selling BTC and the possible EUR>GBP exchange rate at the BTC exchange.
3. In theory you could also use other remittance companies or even PayPal.. you could check out how much INR you need to pay for these amounts of GBP. These companies generally focus more on sending INR with GBP(/EUR/USD) though.
4. I am sure there are actual money changers in London. Search for their websites and see how much the INR>GBP rate with be with your INR cash.
5. Compare the amounts with all the several methods. See the cheapest method Smiley

Important is to calculate INR > GBP "real conversion rate". Because a specific fixed fee, percentage, etc doesn't say much. You need to know how much you will exactly get.

I did these calculations (actually made a real-time script for it) for remittance from The Netherlands to The Philippines and by using Bitcoin it is actually the cheapest method (for the amounts I use), just not easier or faster, but that's ok for me.

Just a week ago I sold multiple bitcoins with rebit.ph, which is also from sci.ph, so they seem pretty trusted.

Cool new service. TBH I prefer to just pay those bills with cash, especially if there is a 30PHP fee for each bill (+ those companies happen to be very close to my house.) But very cool that you guys keep making new services for the Bitcoin PH community!

Would be probably good to have 1 account across most of your websites (at least like rebit, coinage and bills.ninja - I don't care so much about bitstars :X Tongue) Even though that is technically a little bit more difficult.

Yes, very likely related. Good to know the cause at least, I guess.

edit: and just after posting this, the site is back hehe.
edit2: well not really, doesn't seem to work good. But something is back online.
1377  Economy / Gambling / Re: PRCDice.eu - INSTANT WITHDRAWALS- Bitcoin Dice - Rain Bot- Leaderboards - INVEST on: August 01, 2014, 08:37:16 AM
AFAIK all deposit addresses are still cold. That "1 cold wallet address" is only to show it in 1 address. So there is a high possibility more than 90% is cold.
1378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines adoption on: July 28, 2014, 02:40:26 AM
With worldremit.com I am pretty sure I get less than 10% even with "currency exchange rate EUR>PHP" (and they offer instant deposit through Dutch iDeal online banking system and instant pickup at several locations here in PH.)

Anyway, lately there are cheaper options with bitcoin. I made myself a simple script to calculate the amounts including all the fees (including buying bitcoin fee from Kraken) etc:

Note 1: Only Worldremit includes the fee of "pickup" option(!) The bitcoin options are free to a PH bank account, however they charge an extra fee for pickup.
Note 2: rebit.ph has a functionality to authorize through coinbase which means you don't have any risk of changing BTC price (you know how much USD you pay for specific PHP amount.) coins.ph is also working on this functionality I think.
Note 3: "Currency exchange" is the today's price of a random/average currency exchange company in Manila. It is impressive we get a higher price through bitcoin.
Note 4: I think all the calculations in my script are correct, but sorry if there is a mistake Tongue make your own calculations too.

:p Nah desktop will stay available for sure imo. I agree its much better than some flash client.

Just saying they upgraded the web flash client and are testing it. I am not sure if they have or will make the same desktop changes. I played the beta HU shootout and that was fun (yet normal to most pokersites I guess) Pineapple holdem is interesting but not sure if ill rly play it.
1380  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: July 23, 2014, 06:34:43 AM
You can look at the Beta Flash Client at "My Account" > "Redeem code" > "Connect to beta".

Sometimes developer Dr. is looking for beta-testers in lobbychat (and running Beta freerolls with real chips reward in normal site.)

I believe he said that client should be live in around 3 weeks. But I am not sure what exactly is updated and if the PC client will be updated etc.
