1702  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER ALERT on: March 03, 2014, 04:04:45 PM
Looks like this is TrustMeImaDr in SealsWithClubs. Built up trust using various methods within the site and then scammed a bunch of people all at the same time and disappeared. Was reported to be at Missouri River Casino 3/2/14 playing the #8 tournament, but that could be a misdirection. Passing himself off as a med student with a wife.
Yes it is. That was actually why I found it out. I didn't disclosure that yet here, since I figured TrustMeImaDr might still repay people at seals. Obviously he didn't.

He promoted the SweetBits site on Seals. He used the e-mails: drgimmethenews@hotmail.com and antminersales@hotmail.com on Seals. Also shared a photo of himself hidden behind some paper: https://i.imgur.com/Pu3vTSi.jpg He got some BTC payments on address: 19j2z3N5Go4JXq2UjRvfHoYn5BRA7KqRDH - the first payment on this address came from BTC address: 162gVCPucS1KhM6EVzix3mza6sVvt3Ajyn (posted in OP)
1703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin perspective in poor countries on: March 03, 2014, 03:16:26 PM
Besides all these "positive arguments for bitcoin", I would like to add:

These people don't have the luxury to have a "bitcoin saving account". In the end they just want their local currency to buy their basic needs like food. There are a lot of younger people working in a few big cities, they send money to their family in the smaller villages. However on both sides they would want the local currency and no bitcoins, so I do not see the advantage of including bitcoins.

Of course if the stores in these smaller villages would accept bitcoin, it could be interesting. But that might take a while or might never happen.

Please prove me wrong tho Smiley I would love to work on a project that will benefit people in poor/developing countries by using bitcoin.

So letting people send money to their family in small villages, that can be done with bitcoin even on a mobile phone. Then you'd need the infrastructure to convert the bitcoin to local currency. Maybe through ATMs or new platforms (similar to paypal?) that will let you buy using bitcoin like a debit card, or withdraw cash... without needing a bank account.

That is exactly what is happening already but then without bitcoins (and without needing a bank account.)

For example the company "M Lhuillier" in the Philippines. They have like 1500-2000 branches in the Philippines (lot of islands Wink) Lot of people work in big cities like Manila or Cebu. Then they would get cash and give it to "M Lhuillier" branch in these cities and send it to their family. Their family picks the money up in a local branch. The fees are between 0.8% up till 7% depending on the amount. There are also alternative companies doing the same like Cebuana.

Also there are mobile money platforms like "Globe GCASH" and "Smart money" to transfer money from a phone no to another phone no by using text messages. Then you can change it to local currency in a lot of stores all over the country.

So I am wondering what the advantage of bitcoin in this story would be. "the infrastructure to convert the bitcoin to local currency" would still cost money.. like if a store is able to exchange this, they would want a %. Also people probably don't want to send 1 bitcoin worth $600 and then the family gets $550 for it the next day.
1704  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: BTC earning method [NO SCAM - NO PONZI] on: March 03, 2014, 03:01:52 PM
Well.. at least you posted it in "Games and rounds" Smiley Besides that it's just an idiotic ponzi of course.

edit: with "these people" I am referring to the average person in these countries. Obviously not everyone is poor and there are enough people who are saving money in these countries too. Also there are obviously people who like new technologies etc and def already bitcoin owners too. I was just referring to the average person with my perspective.
1706  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB Want buy bitcoins for paypal (Can wait up to 45 days) on: March 03, 2014, 02:44:06 PM
I have seen PayPal charge backs after months.. 45 days will not be enough.
1707  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying 6 Bitcoin on: March 03, 2014, 02:42:48 PM
You are new here, 2 posts and your other post is a very very sketchy "ponzi": https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=498338

To all: I would be careful.
1708  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [TRUSTED] Easy.Simple.StraightForward. 140% Ponzi Payout [TRUSTED] on: March 03, 2014, 02:34:16 PM
Another "brand new" "no website" "1 minute to set up" ponzi from a completely new random account.

YEEH.

At least buy a domain/hosting and make a website for it.

To all: don't be an idiot. Just ignore this "ponzi". Thank you.
1709  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Spotify Premium LIFETIME Upgrade! Price negotiable on: March 03, 2014, 01:03:41 PM
How does this work? Spotify does not sell this themselves? Is this a hack or are these stolen accounts or are these paid with a stolen CC?
1710  Economy / Services / Re: Ideal price for your signature on: March 03, 2014, 12:46:39 PM
Not sure. I guess there are like 2 types of persons having ads in their signature:

- people who post just to get more posts and get money
- people who post for discussions/interest but don't want to refuse free money so they add the signature

I am one of these last persons. I am not 100% sure if I will have 25 posts this week. It depends if there are topics where I feel the need to reply to. On the other hand it can be an interesting week and I could have 60 posts. So personally I probably won't join with min 25 posts. I am sure I will get 10 posts at least but I don't want to think about "needing to post more to get some money".

But I understand your position too of course. You don't want people to exactly post 10 posts and your advertisement won't be seen much.

Perhaps you could give it a try with min 10 posts and track how many posts the average user makes while having your ad (perhaps even per "Member type".) So after 1 week you will be able to see if they really stop after 10 posts or not.

In the end it's all up to you of course Smiley GL
1711  Economy / Services / Re: Ideal price for your signature on: March 03, 2014, 12:16:07 PM
I think something like this would work:

Weekly:

Brand New & Newbie - 0
Jr. Member (30+) - 0.002
Member (60+) - 0.005
Full Member (120+) - 0.01
Sr. Member (240+) - 0.015
Hero Member (480+) - 0.02

Minimum of 10 posts just to proof the account is still active.

Personally I will not join any signature ad that has heavy post requirements or pay per post. And I probably won't use a site who promotes spam. I did have like 50 posts last week and would earn more with your suggestion. I just think that paying per post is wrong on principle (even tho almost all signature ads do that.)
1712  Economy / Services / Re: Ideal price for your signature on: March 03, 2014, 11:41:05 AM
IMO no "post requirements" just minimum activity is best. Paying per post 100% promotes spam and saying "constructive posts only" is not helping much. There are a lot of ppl who are here for like 2 months yet they have thousands of posts cuz of these signature ads. That's insane and in no way good for the forums.
1713  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: btc-arbs.com - Daily ROI (0.01-10%) Update: withdrawal + ponzi proof? + sign up on: March 03, 2014, 10:28:15 AM
The puzzle is already solved:

This is obviously a ponzi. There will be a lot scammed in the end, be careful. I would advise to not put any money on this website. Withdrawals are possible now to earn trust so people put more money in.

Just imagine this... daily ROI is like 2%:

1000*1.02^356= 1152553

So after a $1.000 investment they would make $1.152.553 in 1 year. Do you think, if they have a magic formula to make that much money.. that they will put time into making this website for "investors"? Of course not.

Also just search on "btc-arbs.com" on google and you will find mostly HYIP, ponzi, "moneymaker", etc sites/forums since that's their target group (greedy idiots.)

Maybe you guys just want to keep your hope up that they are legit, but they are really obviously not. Get your money out as long as you can.

Recently, there have been a large amount of scams on Seals with Clubs. In light of several recent arguments involving the Web of Trust and Deceit, and as a sociological experiment, we're gonna shut this down for a few days. If you love it, let us know. If you hate it, let us know.
If you sent chips to bet, or if bet owes you chips, don't worry, you'll get them in a day or two at worst.
http://sealsdeals.info/

I have like 300 chips on credit with bet, and not worried at all Tongue But yeh, I guess refunding first would have been better especially if someone really needs it.

I believe last night there were like 3 or 4 scams, which created a discussion around bet/WOT so the shutdown is probably an immediate reaction to that. I'm not sure, I was sleeping that time. Besides that, the whole WOT discussion has been held many times before too of course. I assume we can see in a week that the shutdown of whole bet is not the ideal solution and bet will be back.

People should just use WOT as a small indication and not "solid proof for trust".
1715  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: SMS based bitcoin wallet for the developing world on: March 02, 2014, 03:27:03 PM
I agree that mobile money platforms are more common in developing world. For example, in the Philippines there is "Globe GCASH" and "Smart money" and with this you can send money to others with SMS.

The idea is that in most developing countries the young people from the whole country go to a few big cities to work and can then easily send money to support their families. Most people don't have a bank account, but they do have a mobile phone. After receiving the money with the mobile money platform there are stores/branches where you can get local currency. Besides mobile money platforms these countries have more companies (in the Philippines: M Lhuillier, Cebuana, etc.) to easily send money all over the country too.

Is your idea a solution to that? (Honestly I don't think it could be.. because these people just want their local currency only so no need to use bitcoin?) Or what is the background idea?

So in the end I am most interested to know how the following options would work:

from local currency - to local currency

And the idea/background of your project.

edit: I am saying Philippines here because I am a Dutch guy living in the Philippines. I think it sounds interesting but I am just trying to understand the whole idea and to think how and if this would work for example in the Philippines.
1716  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: 0.3 BTC need , 600$/btc on: March 02, 2014, 11:51:44 AM
Obviously if there will be any trade here, no one should be sending anything first but use a trusted escrow instead. And "never" use paypal for bitcoin.

Just sharing some info...

User SweetBits.biz is selling fudges:

The domainname Sweetbits.biz is registered with e-mailadress mcnaphee71@gmail.com which is known to be a scammer, see this topic: SCAMMER ALERT

edit1:

>>> LETS FIND THIS DUDE!!!!

edit2:

User Localbtcbuyer (Posts: 242) is selling some domains: DOMAIN: CryptoCoinMall.com and DOMAIN: saveyourbitcoin.com for sale, plus more

These domains are also registered by using mcnaphee71@gmail.com + I have another private way to confirm that this is indeed the same user.

His first post here was to sell an "antminer" https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=460482 so even that fits the picture pretty well + he even used the name "antminer" on another site. He might have legit trades on this username.

If you got scammed by him, make sure to check this info and then add negative trust.
