Accepting cryptocurrencies is too risky for mainstream business. I guess Amazon will not adding BTC as payment method unless BTC become popular. It will take long time. Our best option is to spend more coins at Overstock. Unfortunately, most of bitcoin users just ... hold and wait for exchange price to increase, they don't want to spend any of their precious coins.

Well, hyunsookmom, you're talking a lot of BS in this thread, but this message is about me so I'll point out some things. Firstly off, I'm not Qora, although of course I can't prove that. I didn't say "it's all new code", I said "Decompilation suggests it doesn't appear to be based on nxt code" because TheMightyX asked "Has anyone actually reviewed the code to make sure its not just the NXT source". I decompiled the Qora beta and compared it to Nxt, and they look completely different. I used words like 'suggests' and 'appears' because it's decompilation of obfuscated code after all. Then you said "The Wallet is eMunie's beta testing wallet..." so i compared the Qora beta decompiled code with the latest eMunie decompiled code. Again, they don't look similar, so I said so. As for "I expect everyone believed him" and "If it isn't you can pretty much blame him for misleading everyone", I also gave people sufficient information on how to check it for themselves: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=522102.msg6153672;topicseen#msg6153672It looks like what you're doing is seeing that the UI is vaguely similar, and concluding that they're the same, and concluding that Qora is a scam. It might be a scam. My investment was through escrow so I'm protected against Qora doing a runner now. What I'm not protected against is Qora releasing a client that basically works (you can transfer funds, you can create aliases, etc), but doesn't stand up to any form of serious scrutiny once it's launched. Like, it doesn't have sufficient protection against double spends. I put a post out about that, put nobody apart from Qora replied. Posting again here, in case anybody has input: I've loaded the client and made a few test transactions and naming assignments. In those basic tests it all seems to work fine with only cosmetic issues.
My question (to beta testers, fellow investors and potential investors, and qora) is, how can we verify that the code implements functionality like:
- prevent double spends
- uses PoS to achieve consensus, and prevent 51% (90%? 99%?) attacks
- prevent transaction replays
- prevent transaction malleability
- handle fork-related scenarios correctly
- ensure no new funds are generated after equivalent of genesis block
etc?
This is especially important as we have no access to readable code, and it is not based on any existing cryptocurrency code.
Sorry but you did seem to give an all clear on the code as original and legit. No one is really blaming you and I admit that was a strong statement that wasn't really that serious, but I am suggesting people DID see your comments and assumed everything was all good for the coin. Ultimately more the fool them. Whose fault is it that people paid money and lost it? Themselves of course but you should also take a bit of personal responsibility by accepting you influenced the conversation. Sorry , but what lost money when this coin was supposed to have an escrow? |

I gambled (investing isn't the right word regarding crypto IPOs) 50 EUR worth of BTC here (no escrow, feels so much better without;). I thought about it for quite some time and then I realized that it all looked a bit to integer to be a scam.
A scam IPO would smear as much honey around the 'investors' lips as possible, without trying to be too obvious. Qora did, at no point, do this. On the contrary, this IPO might have benefited from some extra PR skills. (He didn't even think of posting screenshots until asked for example)
So either this is one of the best executed scams that I've seen in a while, and Qora has deserved my 50 EUR, or he'll pop up sooner or later and all will be well. Until proven otherwise, I still honestly believe he'll show up.
On a sidenote: All you people who 'invested' up to 1500 USD in this: you really should start asking yourselves some questions. "Why?" is the most important one.
Of course we all know what happened after the NXT IPO, but don't let the thought of all the millions you could have made back then make you empty your pockets to obtain the largest possible piece of pie you can get your hands on.

Because the DIFF is good enough to mine solo. Have been solo mining it for a while. Just very frustrating to see the 1000000 in the wallet just to have it orphan. Other coins I have never had blocks orphan (OK, when it's launched, but that is expected). But just way too many orphans with this coin.

Realistically speaking, what price do ya'll think ECC can reach and remain stable. IMO, I think it will follow like Mint Coin and settle around the same price Mint Coin is currently, maybe more due to less coins. BUT, Mint Coin wasn't raped as much as ECC by multipools, so that has to be factored in as well.
Your thoughts?
Stable? Price? Eben those questions generate more questions. Price compared to BTC or to it's value in usd. Stable as for a week or a month. (i doubt any coin stayed stable for one month and not at 1 satoshi). This said , I will not make any prediction just not to come later and cry on how wrong (and maybe stupid) i was. |

I would love to see more users than more traders. For god sake I think it's the only different coin in months. |

I'm on IRC right now answering questions. It looks like a new group a leaders is already emerging. This is what I'm talking about when I say proactive community action! I missed Adam on IRC cause I got on pretty late GMT time (130a) but locoshibe helped keep things in check while I was away. I am there now and answering questions maybe for the next hour or so then I need to do my own stuff. Seems like proactive community members are already stepping up- we're lining up an IRC group chat with the new blood to discuss future plans. If you're interested please reach out to me via PM or email, please include how you plan on helping  This is not the end of Kittehcoin by a long shot- this is simply a transition. The community can take this coin further than I ever could on my own. I will keep the community posted, and I will also do my very best to check into IRC at least every other day during a time that both EU and US people are online to continue to provide updates and answer questions. This is not the end, its the start of a new chapter for Kittehcoin.As long as the infighting is over everything is good. All the people involved in this should rather concentrate on real issues , not who is in command and who has more coins that the others. I'm no bagholder .. let's say pocket holder but I would feel a lot better without having to read the last pages on this forum . |

wait for a long time,so disappointed  You haven't waited for anything for a long time. PRT is 4 months old. As one of the few fair quark coins, and one that isn't simply a clone, with devs who are actually trying to improve the experience of using the coin, I find it a shame PRT isn't getting more attention.
This may change soon. I've been working on getting a company going around crypto stuff so I can pay the mortgage and feed my family ;-) Once I get established then I will be able to "pull" Particle along with it. - I am leveraging some of the Particle code to build an exchange that I will be launching soon. It is going to be very cool and I am doing some things nobody has done yet. - I have pitched for a speaker slot at the crypto convention this week. No word yet, but I hope I get one where I can talk a little bit about Particle and what we are doing. - I am looking at sponsoring another conference as part of my business, I haven't decided yet but if I do then certainly Particle will get to ride along with that. - As part of the exchange/brand in #1, I am going to be doing heavy video marketing and promotion, and Particle will be included in that too. I am working on some good partnership opportunities. just so so so disappointed You do realize that was 10 days ago when moonmoon made that comment right...not like it has been 6 months. What have you accomplished in 10 days? Stop being a baby. Most of the people holding a few coins can't really do much about promotions other than voting or tweeting. I bet he was waiting for an update on those news that were posted 10 days ago.. if any is coming alive. |
