You know that there was TWO revolutions in Russia in 1917 right? The one that happened in october unified Russia not desintegrated, and turned it from backward failed country with 27,5 years average life expectancy, 80% infant mortality and 21% litteracy rate into world`s leading industrial and military superpowerwith highest living standards on planet.

Highest living standard on the planet?
Are we talking about Russia and planet Earth?

It's interesting that when the price drops the bulls turn silent.

Now we have only a 10$ price increase and the thread is full of bears.
2383  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why so many on: May 06, 2014, 12:07:58 PM
It has indeed.
There are only 21 000 000  BTC but there can be 21 billions alt coins.

So in a way we're going back to the fiat printing machine.

I think that for Dogecoin, there is a limit of 100 billion. That might be even worse than the Zimbabwean Dollar.  Grin

For now, I'll stick with Bitcoin (21 million cap) and Litecoin (84 million cap).

I don't see the problem with the amount of coins dogecoin has.
People are already complaining that the value of bitcoin is not rising more because of the price per 1 btc so we should switch to millibitcoin.

That will make 21 billions millibitcoin in circulation and even that might not be enough.

While everyone is bored, what about the transaction fee fraud Bitstamp is doing?

(I assume most of you trade there)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=597647.0

It is weird that nobody had heard of or encountered this situation before or that nobody was double checking their transactions.

If it's something new in the trading script that came with an update it may be a bug but I give only 1% possibility that bitstamp is actually trying to rip off its customers.

my bet is on shitty algorithm that doesn't make any dif unless you run into a wall of small bids.

it is nothing new, I knew about this ages ago, they basically do it because $0.001 doesn't exist so they round it up to $0.01... this will effect you if you have a bot buying $1 at a time (or selling a the effected user), and this is why you don't see many bots at stamp

I have never used a bot on stamp and also not traded small amount multiple times so I was unaware this might happen.
It's better that I found this out before actually trying to use one and start losing money Smiley.

It's been there for a while, but only recently when there is constantly a shitload of <0.002 BTC transactions has this become annoying enough for me to post about. Actually all trades below 0.01 BTC are already affected by this 'trick'.

If that is true one can only wonder if the ones creating a situation like this are not actually the owners themselves.

gox 2.0 mini version?

2387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ISR] Isracoin - The Israeli cryptocurrency on: May 06, 2014, 11:39:10 AM
I don't see a dumping of the coin.  Very few sales in the last few days.

I'm pretty sure you have a crystal globe that tells you when the dumping will begin .

Usually people wait for a calm day with no trades and buys support walls to both shake the market and not lose that much by dumping
2388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KUMA] Kumacoin LAUNCHING 2014/04/28 15:00 GMT on: May 06, 2014, 11:34:40 AM
If you think a quality Alt-coin will come out of Japan in the foreseeable future, you're wrong.

The open source community is non-existent in Japan, and Mona/Kuma are just out to pump and dump.

Play around with it, but don't go spending all your money on it.

Their github will end up like Mona, a barren wasteland where no one makes any commits ever.
Rule number one: never say it will not happen.

What do you really think that no person In Japan will ever come with an idea that might even be better that btc itself.

It's actually time for a real Satoshi to emerge.

Grin Kazakhstan has banned the use of the orange-black ribbon on May 9. And not for nothing - this will be a key element in Moscow's provocation strategy.
What used to be a symbol of victory over fascism in 1945 has now been turned into a symbol of Kremlin fascism. It will never be the same. It is the new swastika

Reading through the comments it shows just how any decision is  splitting people apart . Banning something will just make that thing more interesting for people opposing the government that took that decision.

I guess the opensource nature of bitcoin has some drawbacks.

I know that this is your favorite stuff , about bitcoin "cultist" , but shouldn't a mod know that it has already been posted 10 times in this thread?
Thought it was worth reading once again considering the current climate.

Quote
And as time passes and the inevitable fizzle-out of Bitcoin becomes visible, those believers will splinter. More will drop out of the cult. And the ones who remain will only grow more convinced, more zealous, more eager to share the good news.

Remind you of anyone? Cheesy Cheesy

Should I start posting usernames or just the link to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=mlist ? =))))))

Although I believe there is a bit of truth behind that article you can't argue that is comes from a person who is against BTC from the start and it doesn't even care to view the benefits the bitcoin protocol might bring.

They are not suited to be viewed by children. They are of the Auschwitz variety.
if any kid get to see this thread then he have terrible parents, is not my duty to protect your kids, you are the parent and is you duty to do it, if some parents are unable to do it they should consider giving the kids on adoption and get some chemical castration

So kids shouldn't browse the bitcoin forum and especially the politics and society sub forum.

Oh , really?

I don't have kids, but if I did, I'd encourage them to read threads like this after about the age of 12-13, with parental guidance, of course.

I will encourage them as well , but some of the pictures in this thread are disturbing even for people above 18.
If only this forum had a "spoiler" function to hide images.

I had another look at btcxindia this morning before work. https://btcxindia.com looks fake. A Wordpress or Drupal site with a Themeforest template + a bunch of BS social media profiles.

Fake or just cheap?

If it is fake then it is semi expensive. If it is real it is very cheap. My feeling is that it is fake. It definitely feels fake.

The above graph is taken from https://btcxindia.com/live_trade/ - I see a potential here... by combining this graph with TA techniques know from facial analysis (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hakaoQ9L1RM) Smiley

Honestly I first thought this was a joke and this was one of those self made graph , but , checking the website... wtf is this?

Yep, of the two evils you choose the lesser one. For example the one that does not prosecute you for using your mother tongue.

Well , if you keep choosing the lesser evil instead of sending them both to hell with a fork down their a** , I doubt that even the fourth generation will live in a decent country.
We Romanians have made always this choice , and 20 years from 89 we still have to choose between two evils.
The only good thing is that we don't have to choose between two ex kgv officers anymore.
2397  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Crimea on: May 05, 2014, 12:14:09 PM
Choosing between two evils ... that's not really choosing Smiley. It's signing your way to slavery.

Sometimes you have to chose the less evil side, when there is no other choice. And I think Ukraine would be better with Putin rather than they will be with Tymoshenko, the EU and the IMF.

IMF means also China Russia and India ... and Ukraine and Moldova Smiley.

Let's check it out 5 years from now on. I bet nothing will have changed , a 5$ extra and the same corruption and many other bad things as before.
This is not really improving , it's just switching your jail cell.

It seems that you have no idea how close Ukraine to ideal case of corrupt state. The only thing left is legalization &taxation of bribery.

In comparison with Ukraine, RF has ideally democratic civil society with zero level of corruption.

You think that Russia is a role model for zero corruption? That is a sad joke , even when comparing it to urk.
So , how will Belorussian be placed compared to the two above?

I didn't say even once that they should continue with the former government , I just said that their current choice is just as bad as doing nothing.
Why choose a less corrupt government when you can start with a fresh one.

2399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.6 HARDFORK MANDATORY UPDATE on: May 05, 2014, 11:42:06 AM

Goodness, someone wants doge to stay down for a little while. On cryptsy, it will take 419 BTC to move Doge up 8 satoshi to 120.
Those are some heavy hitters.

An, as I said 2 weeks ago, halving isnt good for the coin.... see nethash....

And as I said 2 months ago and one week ago , halving won't do anything major to the price...
The market already priced the events in. My only doubt is about the Dogecar

You are doubting wether or not this is already priced in?
I believe it mostly is, but this kind of publicity will attract a steady inflow of new users who, at worst, will be enough to support the 105-120 sat level.

By the way, the Dogecar looks great in video game Nascar '14 Cheesy
http://forums.nascarthegame.com/threads/11481-NASCAR-14-paint-schemes?p=419624&viewfull=1#post419624

Well , seems like I was right to stay away from trading during this after nascar event
2400  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Crimea on: May 05, 2014, 11:37:13 AM
You didn't say that... did you?
So they've changed one corrupt government for another corrupt government, just as I said two months ago Smiley. Welcome to mother Russia Smiley.

Well.... the difference is that Tymoshenko / Yatsenyuk is much more corrupt when compared to Putin. Russia might be corrupt, but the living standards are much better than that in Ukraine.

Choosing between two evils ... that's not really choosing Smiley. It's signing your way to slavery.
