2721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 17, 2014, 11:28:52 AM

Are blocks every 10 seconds or every minute as said earlier?

~1 minute. Check the time stamps on the latest blocks to get a better idea:

I have tried IRC but I feel it is better for transparency to talk on popular forums.

I have noted there are services that reverse "mistaken" payments using mining pools to force the original transaction to be voided. Here is one example: http://www.bitundo.com There is an obvious risk of scammers using this or more likely a hatchet job of the code to cause havoc.

Is BC immune to these kind of attacks?

Only works for pow coins.
Besides:
"Q: How long do I have to undo a transaction?
A: On average, a new block is generated every 10 minutes or so. You must submit an undo transaction before a block comes out, that seals the fate of your mistake"

Oh  really ? That much time?
2723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 17, 2014, 11:18:12 AM

After 10 confirmations there is absolutely no chance to reverse it, but even after one it is very very hard. You can find rat4 in the ##blackoin channel on IRC, http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=%23blackcoin&uio=d4

Yes , it is possible in theory.
Remember , nothing is impossible when you deal with cryptos.
2724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.6 HARDFORK MANDATORY UPDATE on: April 17, 2014, 11:14:47 AM
will be a great week to observe the price change until the halvening (not that I'm guessing a big rise at the halvening, but changes will come).

The last time the halving occured the price went back , and droped significantely.
That time it was because of BTC dropping , this time , again with chinese fake news , we might experience the same.

China Bans Brandy ? Cheesy

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/business/2014-01/22/content_17249409.htm

"France's second-biggest distiller Remy Martin can no longer count on the Chinese New Year, usually the best time of the year for a sales boost, for a bonanza this Spring Festival because of the government's crackdown on extravagant spending."
Good one, "The campaign to promote morality in China is expected to continue to adversely affect the consumption of ultra-premium products" - because old brandy is every drunkard's booze of choice Cheesy

It's talking about the government's purchases.

Well no, that not what is says , but whatever. Remy Martiin say it could mean 20% dip on their total annual sales.

Assuming those are government purchase , this clears everything.
With that amount of brandy being consumed by those idiots , it's no wonder they ban bitcoin every day Smiley.
2726  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: April 17, 2014, 11:08:47 AM
So some factory owner will just pay it's workers 3 times the wages and not move the factory to another country Smiley)).
That why we have all those factories in china and that's why some chinese one are moving to vietnam.

If you remove the taxes (one of the highest in the world) and other unwanted expenses (such as bribes, duty on exporting their products to Russia, Excise duty on gas and oil), then automatically their wages will increase.

And one more thing. An average worker in the Eastern Ukraine is paid about 1/6th of the salary of a factory worker in China. So don't worry about the companies migrating to China.

That made me laugh Smiley , about the duty exports.
Bribes will continue , are you going tos ay there are no bribes in Russia? Let's not start with this please.

But if the average pay for a worker is 1/6 why aren't any factories being built there already?
Really? 1/6. Do they really work for 60$ /month ?

Some links to back this claim?

I would have posted what they should ban next but better not.
How about they ban themselves?
Just complete that damn wall on all sides and flood it.
2728  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 17, 2014, 11:01:53 AM
Let me guess .. the dip is again based on some chinese story?
Is this the chinese version of 1001 stories?

Market correction + China ban. I wouldn't worry about it. Anything over $480 is really good imo
There is no "China ban" their government already stated that there won't be a BTC ban, they want people to trade, the banks are just backing off.
Don't repeat FUD.

Really , we have  chinese news about the ban every day. And these who like chinese food get a memo in their fortune cookies about the ban. Smiley
Every time a cookie with that message is opened the BTC price goes down.

Could you people stop hating on doge? You sound like angry ungrateful teens talking shit about their parents, you have no idea how many people doge got into crypro world, if it wasn't for doge your coin wouldn't exist.
Look at all the dead coins threads and see how much they hated doge and wanted to be next doge, don't be next doge, be something else.

From what I am reading here and on reddit the Doge and BlackCoin community seem to be very friendly to each other. How did you get this impression? You will always have some people talking some crap, but, as you know, the haters gonna hate...

It;s not about the whole community , it's about a few here who see any coin as a threat.
Besides , imagine a world without pow coins (like doge) , and tell me what will the blackpool do then Smiley

So buying back in now, because of an expected pump would be a good strategy?

I would just say that buying or selling based on an advice on this forum is a bad strategy.
2732  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sweden launches campaign to spread peace, love and democracy - through videogame on: April 17, 2014, 10:49:17 AM
I think Wilikon nailed it with one word, but I would even remove the "re-" bit. Take 'em while they're young.

There are already games out there that promote kindness and familiy values in a subtle way, without actually stating it as a goal.
I start getting weary when a government starts stating such goals.

But based on your assumption ,we have to tackle  everything that a government does as a possible threat to our liberty , pockets , minds?
2733  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: April 17, 2014, 10:45:31 AM
I bet on the 9th of May 2015 , their situation will be the same ( living standard i mean).

If they join Russia, then their living standards would definitely change for the better. Pensions and salaries will increase by many times, and they will qualify for generous welfare benefits such as the maternity capital.

And those money will come from?
Why would salaries increase just because they are not under Ukraine rule?

Will their productivity increase out of the blue? =)))))

Now really , this Russian propaganda about wages and pension is just disgusting.

First of all, it will come from their salaries. To put it simple, currently they are either paid a fraction of what their labour really brings in to the owners, or they are not paid at all. You are forgetting that factor. Their productivity might also increase, if they feel more motivated by actually receiving salaries.

So some factory owner will just pay it's workers 3 times the wages and not move the factory to another country Smiley)).
That why we have all those factories in china and that's why some chinese one are moving to vietnam.

In the last news I read regarding food from Italy were my country was involved was that Italian brands were using Romanian milk and cheese for their products and selling them advertising that they are 100% italian.

I don't think that it is being done on a large scale. Do you think people won't be able to differentiate between Romanian and Italian cheese? Also, food safety authorities are very efficient in Italy.

Actually it was.
The newspapers here we're full of stories. Hundred of tones of milk was used for the "traditional" mozzarella and tons of dairy products we're manufactured here with italian names and exported.
The reason was the cheaper milk , sometime by 40-50%.

I think they passed a law in 2013 about this in Italy to prevent the imports but i don't know how to search for it.
2736  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine rejects Russia Gazprom gas price hike on: April 17, 2014, 07:46:28 AM
I'm interested if the Trans Adriatic Pipeline  or Nabucco will ever get finished.

TAP will get completed. But the Nabucco never will be constructed. Only the Azeris are favoring its construction. And gas output from the Azeri fields have been declining for many years now.

Isn't TAP highly depended on the Iraq and Middle east output and the situation there also?
With so many pipelines i tend to forget which is coming from where.
2737  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Real Time Socialist Train Wreck (again) Happening Now in Venezuela on: April 17, 2014, 07:44:51 AM
I wonder who really pays them... the Venezuelans directly or they receive the money from the Cubans government.

They receive standard Cuban salaries (plus a small deputation fee) from the Cuban government. The Cuban doctors are one of the lowest paid physicians in the world, and I am not surprised that they are not happy about their salaries.

So , they are just sent on a work camp in another country.
I wonder if they have the rights to leave the city they are deployed to Smiley

What is the use of those north korean embassy?

There are journalists and aid organizations who operate inside North Korea. Also, a number of North Korean sports stars currently play for teams around the world. So there is at least some need for the embassies.  Grin

Why the hell do they need aid organizations there? Wasn't that country heaven on earth where everybody is happy?
I though there was no flaw in the leadership of his majesty the son of heaven Kim Jong

Since we all got here anyway maybe it would make sense to make something of it. For example we can do at least a simple fork of Nxt. Like Nas. At least it's something. People will get coins, nobody lost money. Additionaly to 10B planned coins we can release 1B dev fund and 1B marketing fund. Is there any chance we can have a couple of develoreprs that can do such thing?

Why should somebody create a coin for the people that invested in a fake ipo?
Whit this kind of userbase ... the coin is doomed.

Besides , if somebody from the investors knew how to do this , they wouldn't be investors in a coin , they would have already launched it.
